With that level of control, you could make only what is needed and no more, probably.
That would be nice. You always end up running the risk of forcing them to adapt, and if you don't knock out all of them in one go, you allow the strongest to proliferate further.

I'm not sure how much information you have, but do you know what their purpose is?
Mostly to study how viruses adapt, change, and grow over time. It also gives us more data to stop them from spreading.

None that I'm authorized to know about. The only recent progress that I'm aware of are some pretty good breeds that they've managed to grow.
