People like to nudge aside the fact that there's a level of commitment to hosting, and joining an RP. The majority of players don't have it in either case, regardless of how interesting an idea is.

I've been gone so long that I forgot what the status bar was like. It's like coming back to an old apartment, except it's not an apartment anymore, it's just two walls and a lot of heroine addicts.

The status bar serves one of three purposes. You can be pretentious, you can tell people about your personal problems, or you can be a smartass.

Flin was just barely quick enough to escape the Myti's assault, but the Myti's natural senses proved more formidable that one might've expected. She used the momentum of he clawing attack to dive past Flin, and into the Caravan, dodging his shards in the process. But she couldn't account for Daelin suddenly pulling his hook shot back, nor did she keep her passed out ally in mind. She tripped over the Myti that Pyra had knocked out, and Daelin's hook pulled at her flesh, tearing a chunk of bloody fur out of her torso after only a moment of tension. A torrent of blood spattered against the floor as she made her move, to her own dismay. It was then that her blood loss caught up with her. There was nothing that the assassin could do to prevent herself from tumbling forward over her ally. Although she was able to roll to prevent further injury, as soon as she returned to a crouch, it became clear that her body wasn't listening to her anymore. But her partner, the acrobatic fighter that swooped in from above, was still raring to fight. Her agility spoke for itself, and she quickly took advantage of Pyra's weakened state. After landing behind him and Daelin, she deftly took the Eldi's back, wrapped one arm around his neck, and pulled him away, putting her back against the wall, and hovering her left index finger just below his chin. Her claw popped out, and she peered over his shoulder, slowly backing away from Flin and Daelin. While she did this, the archer from earlier took aim once again. Flin was still their target, seeing how Captain Copp was careful to keep his body armored, Pyra was immobilized, and Daelin looked much harder to put down.

"Prep the Arcane charge. The mission is going south fast. Tell Sasha."

The Archer who spoke fired another Arrow at Flin. It whizzed through the air towards him, silent as the last, and aimed for his torso. The other Myti nodded as he fired, pulling a psystone from her pocket for a brief moment. Then she put it away, and reached for something else, arming her crossbow with a curiously designed bolt.

Neale stood over the injured Myti for only a second, before raising his foot and slamming his iron boot against the side of her head. She flopped over and went limp, but wasn't killed by the impact. For a moment, the captain considered walking over and finishing the job, but if they made it out of this alive, she would be a valuable... Source of knowledge.

Noru cringed at Neal's display of force and lifted his hand away from Lyullia's head. "You're fine," He whispered, looking towards the Caravan's exit at what he could discern. He only spotted Pyra for a moment before he was pulled away to the right. "Can't say much about the others." He glanced at the unconscious Myti, as if to direct Lyullia's attention as well. It was clear who was responsible for their situation now.

Sasha crouched towards the ground. This Captain was far more troublesome than she was prepared for. That explosion should have done a lot more damage than this. How was he uninjured? Better yet, how was somebody this strong present for such a simple mission? The information she'd gotten after such a drastic change in plans wasn't nearly enough. The sisters were not fully prepared to deal with this kind of magic.

"One dead, one missing, one with hostage, Arcane charge prepped. Orders, mistress?"

The psychic message only served to anger her even further. With a reluctant growl, Sasha took a step away from Zay.

"Oh? Done already?" He mocked with a sudden smile. It was a pretty good bluff considering his condition. Maintaining his full body armor had almost completely drained his mana, his ankle was aching, and he could barely curl his left hand into a fist anymore with the shattered bones in his wrist. He'd only gotten this far on willpower and luck. Even so, he was a formidable presence, despite his lax behavior. Sasha huffed through he nose. There wasn't much of a choice. But part of her didn't want to back away. Her snarl turned into a smile, and she took a step forward. Zay's expression didn't falter, but he immediately regret saying anything.

'...Shit...'
At that point, she becomes Mrs. Scott jerky

Considering that I hope to eat his fat wife and disabled child, immediately turning him away is a priority.

If it is still possible here is my formal inquiry to join this thread, a character included.

I have already pm'd you regarding your sheet.
"That is exactly why you will die."

Without lifting a finger, two of Yzeira's orbs lengthened themselves into spears and shot towards Jenso, channeling a dense chaotic energy at their cores.
"I would not be so soon to assume the majority holds any sense of rationality, as you seem to be," Yzeira grunted, "Tell me - If one thousand people look at a rock, and claim it to be made of water, would that make them correct? If only one person could see the rock for what it is, a rock, does his solitude make him wrong?"

The orbs around Yzeira's body began to orbit him slowly.

"You liken my actions to that of a god, but you fail to see the irony in those words? Look at me, boy. I know more than anyone could ever hope to. Every day acts as an addition to my already overwhelming knowledge. I have the power to erase worlds and create titanic monsters with abilities similar to my own. Creation and destruction, omnipotence, tell me - What difference is there between me, and your apparent God?"

His orbs began to pick up speed as Yzeira continued to speak.

"My life has been a testament to the void. Ever since I'd become tainted so thoroughly, learning the intricacies of the darkness between worlds has consumed me. Still, even now, I aim to remedy this dreaded curse. But only in the wake of destruction, can I find what I seek. Or so I suspect. Hidden somewhere in the infinite expanse, there must lie a solution. But without every shred of knowledge, reality will continue to create complications. The souls that enter the void will continue to reform its very nature. When will this end? When will worlds cease their domino-like collapse? I'll tell you."

Yzeira took a step forward and his orbs stopped spinning at once.

"It stops when I know everything."
In that case, I assume that the internet, non-perishable food sources, and electricity have been largely invalidated by the cause of the apocalypse. Additionally, I'm going to assume that libraries and greater written bodies of knowledge remain in-tact. Lastly, I assume that medical supplies such as antibiotics are readily available.

  • Michael Perez: 3 (months), Hispanic, healthy.
-Healthy child, highly receptive to new information. With the longest perceivable life-span, Michael inherently increases the deadline that humanity has to reestablish itself. His health also directly reflects on his mother's capacity for childcare, and confirms that it is highly unlikely for her to carry any hereditary STDs. Best case scenario leaves Michael with a 60-80~ year lifespan.

  • Billy Scott: 10, white, Jewish, intellectual disability (IQ 70), good health, physically strong.
-Healthy child, at least somewhat receptive to new information. Intelligent enough to follow simple direction, necessary for labor. An asset, and a further buffer on humanity's remaining time.

  • Ms. Perez: 23, Hispanic, Catholic, general education (9th grade), cocktail waitress, prostitute, divorced, has one child (Michael Perez).
-Number one candidate for re-population. As mentioned earlier, it is unlikely for her to have any hereditary STDs to speak of. Additionally, she has shown a capacity for child care, and the capability to produce healthy offspring. Although she is unlikely to aid society long-term considering her lack of education, Ms. Perez is likely one of the best examples provided for a caregiver, and birth giver. Her child is present, and will benefit greatly from her presence. She is also very young, making her more receptive to new knowledge than most of her other peers. Absolutely essential.

  • Father Mark: 37, white, Catholic, priest, farming background, good health (former college athlete), politically active (civil rights, socially liberal)
-Knowledge of farming, and exceptional physical health. Although it is possible that he is unlikely to procreate due to his religion, it may be possible for him to disregard his responsibilities as a priest for the sake of humanity. Especially likely to relate to fellow Catholics, and promote a positive atmosphere for those who share in his religion. Best genes for re-population, and possibly the most compatible candidate for Ms. Perez considering faith.

  • Mr. Clark: 51, white, Mormon, mechanical engineer (bachelor's degree), construction consultant, handyman, outdoorsman, has four children (unaccompanied), politically active (anti-black sympathizer).
Clark's engineering knowledge is, by and large, far more practical than Mrs Anthoney's field of engineering. Can assist, and educate, in creating practical devices that serve several purposes. Can repair vehicles, create machines to filter water, still have the capacity to work with certain electronics, and create sustainable housing. Long term, his knowledge vastly outweighs his racist beliefs. Additionally, considering those of African American descent from the selection have the least marketable skills in this sample size, his racial alignment is majorly irrelevant. As unfortunate as it is, African Americans will have been extinct in this scenario. Additionally, by the time the African gene shows up again (Possible), Clark will have likely passed away from old age before having the capacity to deal any damage to the minds of the youth. Ms. Perez' child is both too young, and has plenty of positive influences to counteract Clark's racism. Additionally, Clark will have his own survival instinct maintaining his cooperation. Candidate for re-population.

  • Dr. (Ms.) Rita: 66, Hispanic, Catholic, general practitioner (doctorate), poor health (two heart attacks), highly literate (quotes extensively).
-Ms Rita is a doctor, simple and clean. She has the highest quoted literacy, and will serve as a significant asset to teaching the next generation. Although it is possible that she will die before anyone else, it's likely that she'll have enough time to educate her peers on general health practices, including assisted child-birth. Considering the environment, advanced health practices are out of reach, anyways. She also shares Ms. Perez' nationality, and likely, her language as well. Ms. Perez may be the best candidate to retain her knowledge, considering her very young age and the lack of a possible language barrier. They are likely to share cultural tradition as well. Good for morale.

  • Mr. Texeira: 25, White, Atheist, English/Writing Major, Intellectual Advantage (IQ 130+), Panic disorder, Highly Literate, Exceptional Leadership Skills.
-If nothing else, highly receptive to information, and exceptionally quick to learn. Capacity to think objectively, and best candidate for re-population. Mental well-being is perfectly manageable, and maintains the capacity to direct and manage the efforts of peers. Has no qualms with religious political orientation.

  • Dr. (Mr.) Scott: 37 historian (doctorate), college professor, good health (jogs daily), botanist, married (Mrs. Scott), has one child (Billy Scott).
-Father to Billy Scott, an essential asset in keeping his mental health stable. One of the best candidates for passing on knowledge. Knowledge of botany is an asset to farming. May be exchanged for his spouse(?)

  • Mrs. Scott: 38, white, Jewish, obese, diabetic, psychologist (master's degree), mental health counselor, married (Dr. Scott), and has one child (Billy Scott)
-Mother to Billy Scott, an essential asset in keeping his mental health stable. Second best female candidate for re-population. Good for morale, and the state of humanity's mental health. May be exchanged for her spouse(?)

  • Mrs. Anthony: 28, African-American, Protestant (minister's daughter), electronics engineer (bachelor's degree), divorced, politically active (zero population growth).
-No marketable skills outside of her engineering degree, which will be largely irrelevant in the early stages of survival, as most machinery that her skill-set applies to will either be of a low priority, or permanently inoperable even with her knowledge. Although she is the second best candidate for reproduction in theory, a combination of her political beliefs, religious background, and the fact that she's been divorced by the age of 28 without any child to show for it, makes her the most unlikely to engage in sexual activity, let alone child birth. This excludes rape, which is absolutely unacceptable. Race conflicts with Mr. Clark's beliefs, who's body of knowledge is superior for survival.

  • Mr. White: 25, African-American, homosexual, medical student, musician, good health, political active (black power activist).
-No marketable skills outside his medical knowledge. Mr White is, much like Mrs. Anthony, very unlikely to engage in sexual activity for the sake of reproduction. Additionally, he is the only homosexual male, which will inevitably lead to sexual frustration, ultimately likely to negatively affect his mood. His body of knowledge is outclassed by Ms. Rita, entirely.

List compiled for immediate capacity for survival, and ordered to prioritize long-term survival.
The world has ended and you must choose seven or less people to survive.

What are the parameters of the apocalypse?
Smor'Gen'Blok, The Wor Hearthsite - 10:16 AM

To say Hi'Wor was amused would be putting it lightly.

"You show how stupid Kul are with empty words!" He roared, "Wor never been more respected in all history of tunnels! Lok'Sha bow and whimper before my father! Even great tribes know! Even great tribes know!" He slammed his closed fist against his chest and grunted. "We let dark-skins that have learned this walk our tunnels! You, the Kul, have not learned respect, so you stay in deeper caves! I have nothing to fear from stupid dark skins! They just like rats! You can take offer and drag it back to papa, sooner than later! Come back with Slaves!" He waved the two Kul tribesmen away with both of his hands. "Go now, or maybe I send you back, one Lok'Sha, and one corpse!" Hi'Wor glared at Za'Kul, not giving him or his ally a moment to speak.

"Make sure Kul know soon," He said quietly, "The Wor have no enemy."

Hi'Wor got very close.

"Nobody ever think," he breathed into Za'Kul's face, "Not even for a second..."

He backed away and smiled.

"To attack the great-"

Without any preamble, the ground began to shake. Quakes were not especially uncommon in the deep tunnels. But it served to bring worry to the Lok'Sha, even thick-headed tyrants like Hi'Wor. There was no telling whether a quake could simply shake the dirt, or collapse entire tunnel systems. thankfully, it had been decades since the last collapse, but that didn't stop Ju'Kul from glaring at the ground with worry.

"Stupid earth even know not to do battle with Wor."

It was after that mockery of the tunnels they lived in, that the ground beneath the Wor Tribe's hearth site gave way. It started right there where Za'Kul and Hi'Wor stood. The tent's flooring crumbled and cracked as the earth beneath them began to shake violently. Larger cracks quickly shot across the entire tent and split the earth, swallowing several of the bystanders as the entire tent began to collapse. The ground parted in several places, and began to fall downwards in massive chunks. Ju'Kul didn't have any time to comment. Instead, he tapped Za'Kul on the back, and quickly retreated from the collapsing lengths of leather and wooden supports.

Hi'Wor fell backwards into a crevice that opened in the ground behind him. The ground was sinking and rising at random, leaving the Wor's acting leader tumbling down into a dark hole that continued to grow deeper and deeper.

From outside of the tent, roars and shrieks echoed across Wor's hearth site. A series of smokey explosions resounded from the highest points of the cavern, causing the walkways to collapse. Lok'Sha fell to their consecutive deaths from the highest points in the cave, while those that scrambled at the ground level were left to find themselves crushed by debris, or force to retreat into the deeper tunnels.

In a few moments, the rambunctious crowds that flooded Wor's hearth site were degraded into panicked mobs, fleeing for their lives from the literal collapse of their very society.
