Current Need info, so might as well throw a bottled question into the ocean of statuses... What are some features/ideas/etc. that YOU want to see in a monster taming/raising game? All genuine ideas welcome.

@Dane, I need you to talk to a physicist and a psychiatrist, in that order, twice.

"The worst thing you can do to a character is to make them aware that they're fictional." Ironically, the character who would say this is from an RP I'm not in anymore... Funny, that.

Just like in JJK, explaining the joke makes it funnier. Luckily that's built into this one.

Jimbo that's not right. Humans are a social creature, there's not a single one who can truly survive on their own. Even those who seem to be able can only do so because they learned from others.

That doesn't seem like something I'd do.

What's this about no successors? Successors to what? Why won't there be any?

I see. Thank you for your cooperation.

<Snipped quote by The World>

Are you aware of any reason you may not be able to remember?

Unfortunately not.

<Snipped quote by The World>

You just have to optimize the save/reset system. I can help you do that.

That would be awesome. Remind me of that once I have a working engine. I'm gonna have to do a bunch of custom code for the rpgmaker stuff to work like I want it to.
<Snipped quote by The World>

That's fine; it's still a set of a few thousand numbers. Peanuts.

If you say so.

Save slots actually have very little space requirements. You just have to store a few variables.

True, but the issue here is that each game instance is entirely randomized. Every single npc will have a look, name, skill set, stat set, item set, level, etc. that's randomized on creation of a new game and dynamic enough to change over time through the game. Even which endings are possible are random because of this.
@The World
What if each ending separated into a new "game" that could be played indefinitely?

<Snipped quote by The World>

Yes, exactly. I have a strange enmity against fiction characters, to the extent that I drowned my Chaos in SA and SA2.

That's the plan, actually. Only issue is you'll have limited save spots since the huge amount of content requires lots of data space.

Right.

I'm subscribed to Yandere Dev, but hadn't gotten to youtube yet to see it.

Our tastes vary widely.

Ah.

Yeah but in the opposite ways of what people expect.
Like, you're this super religious guy who likes murdering fictional characters.
I'm this guy who hates humans but has a hard time hurting fictional characters. (Barring undertale just because of how well done the genocide route is.)
<Snipped quote by The World>

Yeah, but that's moving closer toward a life sim, which changes it greatly.

It may be better to make them sound more different and for the game to stand alone. It's best to thrive on your own merits.

I finally gathered my thoughts for a response.

It takes heavily from Raildex, and that's largely because it's what reminded me of the concept of psychics and that they could fit into science.
There isn't an imagine breaker, or an inherently religious bent to the magic, or some city of psychics. It's meant to be this world if in 2020 or so, two people inspired by Raildex (not named in the game, obviously) do experiments on each other and gain these powers. Then things spiral from there, eventually having magic result in monsters, such as slimes or werewolves, things from typical rpgs, coming into the world. The paper by the PC was meant to explain the backstory in game.
Since it's meant to be this world in a future with these things, the player is meant to have total freedom. Some people feel they're meant to be female when they're male and vice versa, and I didn't think adding a way to change sex in the game would be possible to explain plausibly. Plus, I don't want to alienate anyone when it comes to character creation, something incredibly important in any game. Something as simple as having "he, she, it, they," etc. change is easy. And it allows for a real world issue, that some people wouldn't care. It adds that realism of people being accepting or not accepting of that issue to the game, which allows for more actions and possible stories within it. My goal is over 50 or more endings that aren't simply "became a certain profession and lived a life like that," or "did regular life things." And that simple game mechanic opens at least 3 possible endings that would deserve titles.

If you have any suggestions at all, and thank you for these as well, please go ahead and make them whenever for whatever. I was afraid you'd have issue with the history in game, but I felt it was the most likely result of something like this. I'm still in the earliest planning stages, currently my focus is on in game item creation, so I'll be asking you guys for more help as time goes on.
So no commentary aside from David's help with the formuli?
<Snipped quote by The World>

I honestly don't care about the game itself, but what I do care about is the blatant, possibly game-ruining censorship that Twitch is throwing out with no explanation. That's horrible policy.

Correct. That is the correct opinion on almost anything.

I love Yandere Simulator. I haven't seen the video, but the title upsets me.

Posted in case you didn't see it yet.

<Snipped quote by Nimda>

It just doesn't seem like something you would endorse. But I literally only just now found out about what it actually is despite hearing the name all the time, so I'm probably wrong.

When it comes to fiction, just think of it like David is the way you think I'm like. :P
