Either RolePlayerGuild.com is glitching, or everyone is studiously ignoring my PMs.

Happy New Year's!
I'll wait for Friday before making an official {ROUND} post, for Lord Zee's sake.
It's the same dream again.

My ears are ringing from the orcs' roaring din. My scalp feels like it will rip off with the force they're pulling on my hair. My mouth is dry and my throat is parched from sobbing. Their disgusting nails tear into what was once pearly skin and draw my blood. I will die in shame.

Then there is a blood-curdling roar, and silence falls. The orcs that were carrying me drop me face-first in the mud and give me space. A pair of giant boots enter the newly formed ring, and as I struggle to put my arms back in their sockets, there is a clatter of metal at my side. It's a knife.

My knife.

"Pick it up," comes a growl. I get on my hands and knees and steal a glance at the speaker. It's an orc captain. He stares hard at me, unflinching, unwavering, yet somehow I feel no coldness in his gaze. He flicks a glance at the knife. "I demand the rite of blood," he declares.

Confused and outraged murmurs ripple through the army. I'm not a total alien to their culture; I know that the rite of blood is a duel to the death, often demanded by a prisoner in a gamble for freedom. They know it as well as I do. And they begin to argue. "She's not an orc," one says. "The captor doesn't get to declare the rite," says another. The captain has none of it. "Silence!" he bellows. I flinch at the sound. "I'll do whatever I want," he continues. "Anybody can demand it. Get up, elf."

My knees are so wobbly, I can barely stand. There is no way on earth I can fight an orc in this state. I couldn't even do it at my peak, not without magic. But then I look into that orc captain's eyes, and I know what he is trying to do. He is giving me another chance. Through his steel glare, there is a flame of defiance in him, a stubborn, unquenchable will to stand against the darkness. He stands alone.

How can it be that he and I, once worlds apart, should find one another so alike, here at death's doorstep? How can it be that there exists in the world an orc, even one orc, that would challenge his brothers' culture so brazenly and without fear? His courage strengthens my own, and somehow, I find myself standing upright.

Perhaps I will not die tonight. If there's even the smallest chance, the tiniest sliver of hope, that there is still something good in this god-forsaken world, I can hope again.

I owe that orc a debt I shall never repay.
@Thinslayer
Whatcha suggest I write instead? I mean I don't know how to ask if the warlock is okay and all that stuff. Any ideas?
Thank you by the way!

The writer side of me would be mortified if my work could be interpreted the way yours was, but the GM side of me wants to keep it for the purpose of character development. Considering how it's at odds with Laina's intended character, I'm inclined to agree that some kind of edit is in order.

I think her response should become clear once you have a good picture in your head of what's going on. The Warlock is focused on an epic duel with not one, not two, but three powerful sword fighters, and he's taking a lot of heat. Swords are whirling and batting every which way. The air is tense and frantic. Through the din of clashing metal and blood spurting from the Warlock's wounds, Laina has to say something that he can plausibly respond to when emotions (mostly adrenaline) are running high.

Subtle psychological manipulation won't cut it here. We're in a high-stakes battle. Only the most powerful emotions will get through to anyone. Laina needs to scream, cry, or otherwise express something dramatic to the Warlock to get his attention over the battle.
@Rekaigan@rush99999
I KNEW THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THOSE WORDS.
Sorry for that by the way. That's awful writing but honestly couldn't think of anything. Maybe i should have Laina killed off?

NO! Ugh, why is it that every time I start developing awesome plans for someone, they start plans to quit!? First it was XenoCyanide; I figured Xen and the Captain would make a great couple. Then he quits. Now I'm dreaming of Laina becoming an epic awesome world-leading healer, and ineffable drops the "killed-off" phrase.

Cut it out! >:-(

Now, I know her writing would have looked better had I not read the OOC first. It looked pretty good all by itself, actually. Once I read the OOC, though, I couldn't help thinking that Laina sounded a bit evil. It could stand to be rewritten, but goodness gracious, don't kill Laina off over it!!
Alright I will start working on something, expect me back in an hour or two with something. Proofs are key.

Remember, don't kill the player characters, don't get your character killed, and don't trap the players in a situation where we are forced to do either. And of course, the usual RP rules apply - don't god-mode or power-play.

Other than that, you really can do whatever you want. It's your character. ;-)
@Darkwatck01
You can post whenever it's your turn. I trust that you know the universal rules of roleplaying, so I don't intend to micromanage you. Just do what you see fit, and if I want to control the Warlock, I'll feed you enough information (mostly IC, maybe PM if the need arises) to point you in the right direction.
Can't seem to see where I fit in tho.

I have a better question: where don't you fit in? You can...
* Smack the Warlock with your staff like a badass
* Start healing Kaite, and describe how awesome and painful it is
* Use your noncombatant position to scheme, analyze, and strategize
* Calmly pack your gear amidst the chaos and piss off the Warlock

There's all kinds of stuff you can do as a noncombatant! Get creative!
Oops, almost Friday. Yep, fail. e_e

But still. It has been a loooong time since anyone posted.
