Either RolePlayerGuild.com is glitching, or everyone is studiously ignoring my PMs.

Okay, last question. Would you like a full blown thing or can I get away with a quick little summery for now.

A quick summary will do for now. I prefer that character apps ultimately be PM'd to me so as to make introduction to the RP easier.
@Thinslayer are you wanting just one character or multiple? I have a few ideas, but I can just give you my top one

I'll hear all your ideas. :-)
Link's laugh immediately put her at ease. Zelda released the tension in her shoulders.
"Of course, of course," he reassured her. "Just give me a minute. I'll cook something up. What do you feel like having?"
She held her chin for a moment. "Meat pie with a little armoranth. I remember the first time you made that for me, and it was so delicious! It made me feel tough, like I could take on the world. I want that. Do you need me to grind the Tabantha wheat?"
Ah, I see. Do what you gotta do. :)

Arandur was born into a noble elven household, a family of Rangers whose history spanned generations. Like most elvish youths, he spent his first couple decades wallowing in pleasurable pursuits, but mellowed out a bit when he got drafted into the army at age 20. He served for 30 years, campaigning under general Aphaderuiondur against the goblins to the north before taking a desk job during his last 5 years of service.

Now 50 years old into his 500+ year life expectancy, Arandur is still young by elvish standards and ready for a wife. As the only son and heir to the Nostarion household, his family pressured him to marry and spawn children to carry on their legacy. While human spouses are generally frowned upon, given the dearth of eligible elvish women, the family has permitted it.

While I will not delve too deply into personality, since that's to be discovered in-story, there are a few things you may wish to know about him up front. He's a touchy-feely sort of guy and has no problem wrapping his arms around a girl he likes. Some people describe him as a kind person, but it's more good acting than anything else. He cares a lot less about people than he lets on, and for pragmatic reasons, he actively challenges his apathetic instincts so as to gain useful friends and allies.

There is one person, however, for whom he cares a bit more...
@Ellion@RumikoOhara
Any idea what characters you guys will be playing, if any?
@RyuHll Everything okay?
In the not-so-distant future, chemical engineers invented Sensitive Electro-Empathic Dust, or SEED. This miracle nanomachine is the first implementation of applied metaphysics theory, our first foray into the realm of magic. This telekinetic particle responds to thoughts and mental commands, and is able to manipulate its environment with millions of times more force than its own weight. This technology revolutionized everything and rendered nearly all other technology obsolete. Why bother putting dishes in a dishwasher when Seed can scrape it off for you? Why invest in construction equipment when Seed can do all the heavy lifting? Why lift a finger to paint a portrait when Seed can paint it for you? Nothing else was needed. Life became luxurious, and people came to depend on this miracle particle.

Then, the Mutation happened.

Suddenly, countless people found themselves utterly unable to use it. Billions of lives dependent on the miracles of Seed dove headlong into abject poverty and perished overnight. Politicians, desperate to hold onto power amidst the chaos, needed a scapegoat. They found the perfect opportunity in the Gifted.

The Gifted were immune to the mutation. They retained their power over Seed when everyone else had lost it. Rumors abounded that they'd caused the Mutation to make themselves special, and the surviving national leaders blamed them for everything that happened. Thus began a multinational manhunt for every surviving Gifted in the world.

Not all nations participated in, or even approved of, this turn of events. Some people who still had a scrap of morality left decided to save the lives of these Gifted instead of destroying them, and they started an "underground railroad" (so to speak) to transport these refugees to safer territory.

In this RP, you can play as a Hunter who tracks down the Gifted to arrest them, as a concerned citizen who helps the Gifted, or as one of the Gifted themselves. You're not necessarily stuck to one role; depending on how the story proceeds, you may switch freely between them. It's your life, and these are your decisions to make.

The story will begin on the day before the Mutation.

Lore

In some respects, the premise of this RP resembles the anime Cross Ange, now that I think about it...

Once upon a time, Zelda was a princess in Hyrule, daughter of King Rhoam. She was a scientist at heart, curious about her world and eager to explore its mysteries. When hundreds of six-legged robotic tanks, called Guardian Stalkers, were discovered under Hyrule Castle, she was one of the most important figures in bringing them under Hyrulean control. But she was not a mage. She was supposed to be able to seal away Ganon, but had not yet acquired the power. No matter how much she prayed, she never got it.

Link, on the other hand, was recognized right away as the Hero that he was. He was a gifted fighter and skilled in most other aspects of life. King Rhoam appointed him to be Zelda's knight. But Zelda didn't appreciate that, not at first. His very existence reminded her of her failures, his giftedness a stark contrast to her utter powerlessness. And she resented him for it.

But one day, as she was exploring the Gerudo desert, a band of Yiga assassins cornered her and tried to kill her. No match for them, she cowered and awaited her doom. Then Link appeared. He stood over her and pointed his blade to the enemy, utterly unafraid of them. And they ran from him. From that day forth, Zelda respected him, and in time, learned to love him.

Their happiness was destined to end. The monster attacks grew more and more frequent. A shadow fell over the land, and fear struck the hearts of all. A black mass appeared in the sky, a roaring black boar whose hideous head poured out wrath and damnation upon the earth.

It was none other than Calamity Ganon, the purest incarnation of evil.

The four Champions raced to their Divine Beasts, only to discover that Ganon's phantom Blights had seized control of them. One by one the Champions fell. The Guardian Stalkers, once commandeered to fight evil, were commandeered by Ganon to destroy their former masters. They crushed the Hyrulean armies all across the continent. Link and Zelda made their last stand at Hateno Fort, where Link bravely protected his princess until he was matted in his own blood.

Another Guardian searched for them as Link struggled to recover his strength behind a pile of Guardian wrecks. "Get up, Link! Get up!" she pleaded. Link tore the Master Sword from the earth, its edge rusted and beaten. Then the Guardian spotted them. It climbed over their cover and pointed its targeting laser at them.

"No!" Zelda screamed. She pushed Link out of the way and raised her hand. Blinding light poured from her palm and engulfed the whole plain. Guardians everywhere stopped, sputtered, and went dark. But it was too late for Link. She turned back to find him laying in the blood-soaked grass, struggling for breath. Zelda cradled him in her arms and pleaded for him to stay.

He did not.

Sheikah troops arrived to find her weeping over Link's lifeless body. But hope was not lost; the Master Sword, formerly silent, glowed with otherworldly power to send a message to the princess. Zelda looked up, her eyes glistening with their old strength. "We can still save him! Take him to the Shrine of Resurrection!"

As the Sheikah carried Link away, Zelda turned back toward Hyrule Castle, ready to face the demon alone and await her Hero's return.
