Salem wasn't at all surprised to see Max's off putting demeanor. Sure he was dressed up, polished, and seemed like he belonged; but polished shit is still shit, and a dressed up Max is still mean and off putting. He took a step back as Max approached him, if he was the murdered then he couldn't allow him to get close enough to puncture his jugular with his belt prong. The metal mage did manage to get close enough to practically whisper in his ear, his low voice asked him something he wasn't quite ready to admit. How could he tell Max that he was out back trying to find the words to tell someone how he felt? No, this was another moment when it was best to omit the truth by telling another. He went to speak, the words getting caught in his throat as he watched Eris approach the pair of them. Was he involved in this as well?

He expected a reprimand, some snarky remark towards his attire, or something about his status and how it affects Max, or possibly that if they fought to not bruise his partners face because it wouldnt photograph well. But no, much to his surprise Eris was acting as if he were a mature adult and not some pampered star. He placed his hands on them and suggest they move out of earshot, and Salem.whole heartedly agreed. Salem nodded his head towards Eris, and in a low voice responded to Max. "I was out back having more than my allotted two drinks." He tapped on his vest and a slight metallic thump could be heard as he tapped on the flask hidden beneath. "Eris is...right, however. Too many ears and eyes here, if we want to speak and settle we should take it outside out of others range."

Maddy was in quite a good mood for the day, working through the final moments of shift as he created a small rabbit with the white foam atop the drink he was making. A dimpled smile crept up on him as he watched his work and hoped the customer would have a brightened day by it. "Karen, I have your medium latte ready." He called out as he set the drink down on the counter, watching a middle aged woman with short blonde hair make her way up to him with a clear scowl on her face. Perhaps thia rabbit was exactly what she needed? A little show of kindness to help alleviate whatever was souring her day. What he hadnt known was that the scowl was for him, but he was soon to find that out, as would the rest of the establishment.

"What is that?! I asked for an ICED latte! Iced! And you think you deserve fifteen dollars an hour plus tip? Ha! You can't even make a simple order right! Remake it, I'll keep this one as well and I just hope you know you've lost my business from now on." The woman huffed as she snatched the mug from the counter, shaking the drink onto the counter and ruining the art he had worked so hard on.

"I-I-I'm s-sorry m'am. I'll re-re-redo it for you r-ri-"
He was immediately cut off before he could finish. Her sunglasses now tilted halfway down her nose as her blue eyes glared daggers at him, scanning him up and down before speaking.
"Well out with it boy! I don't have a d-d-day" her tone was cruel and an obvious mockery of the speech impediment that he had gotten from years of abuse. Maddy simply dropped his head down, looking at the machine before him as he grabbed the beans to grind and begin her drink anew. As he reached for the container, a familiar hand was placed above it, his friend Carroll who happened to be the store manager.

"You're right about one thing, you wont be a customer hear anytime in the future. We dont tolerate people treating our employees that way and we certainly don't condone mocking others. Take your latte and leave, you wont be getting that remake." Carroll voice was cool and collected, her eyes stern as she practically breathed fire at the woman who bow seemed shocked and appalled that anyone would dare to speak to her in such a manner.

"Ha! I'll ruin your business. You'll get no stars from me on Yelp!" The woman tossed the drink onto the ground, spilling the milk and coffee everywhere as she made for the door. "Have fun cleaning that up." It wasn't often, but customers like her did exist, and they preyed on mom and pop shops like this knowing that this sort of behavior would award them free items and giftcards at larger chains that could afford it. As the bell above the door jingled upon her exit, you could see Maddys eyes welling up as he tried his hardest not to cry. His hands trembled, still placed upon the bean container as he just stared off. Carroll walked over placing a hand on his shoulder knowing too well what he was feeling. "Go ahead and go home. You're shifts almost over anyways, I'll be over later with chinese ok?"

Maddy simply nodded at her as he slowly made his way from behind the bar and took off his apron, hanging it on the hook and walking out to his bicycle to make his way back to his apartment. As he rode his bike back, beads of tears flew freely and into the air behind him, wondering what he did wrong? Why did so many people love to pick on him and abuse him? Was he not worthy of love? Did he do something to deserve this? Was it his fault? The thoughts wouldnt shake free, clinging to him as he fetched the mail from his box and took the elevator up to his apartment on the fourth floor. As he opened it up he noticed a purple jacket left on his couch, probably from Colby. He was such a space case sometimes.

Maddy went over to the couch and laid his face into the jacket. It still smelled like him. Did he leave it on purpose? No, theres no way he'd be able to be loved, especially by him. Regardless, Maddy slid into the jacket, zipping it up and allowing himself to be engulfed by it as if he were being hugged by Colby. He shifted his position, head hanging off the edge of the couch as his feet dangled in the air about the couches backing, upside down. There was only one letter today. It was made of thick parchment, and written in a calligraphy pen. As his eyes scanned the letter over and over again he went through many stages of emotion and thoughts. Was this a prank? Was this finally the moment he had felt was coming for so many years? As he thought about the possibilities, he saw the purple of the jacket and wondered if it was a sign? He had always felt a Kindred spirit to Colby, perhaps he was the friend who was mentioned in the letter, but why all the secrecy? Three days...he'd finally know I'm three day's.

Demetri heard the insult zeke had attempted to sling at him, the elephant more than happily kicking up some dirt towards the demi-god as he laughed in a trumpeted tone. As soon as the fight had ended he made his way towards Zeke and shifted into him. "Don't worry about me Zeke, I can always fix my weight but you'll never be able to fix your hideous face." He looked down at his hands and then began to feel his face. Putting on am exasperated display of shock and horror as he yelled " Oh no! Its finally happened! The Aphrodite cabin must've cursed me with...with...UGLYNESS. OH HOW CRUEL IS FATE TO OF MADE ME LOOK LIKE THE MOST HIDEOUS CREATURE ALIVE!" As soon as his dramatics were over he shifted back into himself and began to laugh wildly. "Just kidding, I haven't been cursed yet. Haven't done anything nearly as terrible to warrant being turned into you."

Demetri gave Zeke what appeared to be a piece sign, though any kid of the UK would understand it meant anything but. He started to make his way over to Andy, showing zeke he wasnt worth much more of his time at the moment when he had a victory to celebrate with his little sis. "That, was, so, awesome! You looked like a straight up Sith lord with your lightning! It's a good thing you've got range too, I'd hate to have to see you in the fray of it all. But man, you were all like pew! And they were all RAWR then you went pew pew and they went blaarghgagsgag. Phew, wanna head to the cafeteria for se victory dessert?" Demetri was practically beaming at his little sisters display of power. Kill count didn't matter, unless he was competing with zeke, but to see her in action was always a proud and terrifying display.

River came out from behind the Pajals legs and held his head high. A slight clearing of his throat as he held his right fist over it before speaking. "The names River, and don't you go forgetting it. I am a mage as well...of a sense." River placed his hand upon his chin in an inquisitive manner, listening to what it is that the Pajal was asking. Good, his seclusion in plant life and elementals hasn't dulled his brain as well. The Thaumaturge he was certain has a sharp brain, or a penchant for disaster, that was yet to be seen. Before he could say anymore there was a loud raucous coming from none other than the noisy cat. Why he had half a mind to summon his egi and spray that cat down. Haha! Half a brain, that's more than that miqo'te could eve dare to achieve!

Rivers jaw dropped at the display. He couldn't stop himself from starin in utter disbelief as to what had just happened. He stood there thinking over and over again and the more he thought about it the more it didnt make sense. Perhaps things weren't always as they appeared, and he of all people should know that. A wicked grin spread across his face, a sure sign that a Lalafell was up to no good. His eyes seemed to brighten as he tipped his hat lower and a shadow painted over them. "I had no idea there was a brain between those miqo'te ears of his. Perhaps he's more useful than I pegged him for." He cleared his throat once more as he kwaited for Kikipu to finish speaking. "Yes yes that's all well and fine, dont ask dont tell and you make your ill gotten gains and profit. Now tell me kikipu, was that the man you speak of? And what's the likelyhood a fight would break out between the two as soon as they leave the crowds sight in private?"

"Promes a bit of an Oxy-moron. At least he seems to be lately. This game seems to have a nasty habit of changing people, or showing others true colors. We need to be able to stick together if we hope to beat this thing and survive, and its hard to do that when one of your DPSs keeps disappearing into nowhere when he's needed. But that's an issue for a later date. Right now we have monsters to hunt, and a world to explore." River put up a fist in a show of excitement. As horrid as this game could be, there was still a level of excitement and adventure in seeing new lands, new animals, and new abilities that they could all unlock. Who knew what this game had in store for them, but whatever it was it was sure to be something to talk about. River waited for Willow to finish her explanation before leaning in to Cecilia and whispering "Alright, that doesn't sound like such a bad quest. I'll try and see if I cant find anything cool for her to see."

"As much as I agree with you Cecilia, perhaps we should just deal with them quickly? If this information was given at quest pick up perhaps it's a vital key in defeating them. Too often have I seen parties in games or even D&D get outdone by simple trashmobs only because of mere hubris. Let's looking out for the mass aggro, try and interrupt it and kill it before its cast goes off, and see how much we can gleam from watching them all fight. Maybe each one will display different abilities and mechanics so we can gather a bigger picture? Besides, words traveled that you dodged Lightning and I would like to see that speed in action." He knew Cecilia was fast, he also knew she could've been seriously injured had she not been lucky enough to dodge that blast from the wandering boss. He did, however, hope his taunt worked and would get her to side with team kill quick.

There was a slight smile on his face when Leighton spoke to him. Hearing her try to comfort him and care made his heart warm up as he gently nudged her with his arm and managed to chuckle ever slightly. "You're right. We'll show them what we can do...and I'll show that I can be more than a mess up..." He listened in as she began to ask questions, trying to build a plan and cover bases. It was a solid idea and something he had tried on the previous mission, he just hoped this new team was more chatty than the last. He kept fairly quite as he followed them out to the car where another member was waiting for them, getting the engine warmed up.

His mood however, quickly began to sour as Sunshine, the perpetual brat, wouldnt stop talking about murder and killing. He didnt care what these people had done and to who, but murder was never the answer. How could she sos easily want to kill when it pained him so much to have accidentally done it. It was a constant reminder that she wasn't good enough and that all.he could do was cause problems. Not to mention he had robbed someone of a family, he had stolen lives thata were not his to take. He kept quite as the ride went on, only speaking up when teams were being announced. "If it's all the same to you, I'd like to be paired with Leighton. We're the same age and it would seem less suspicious for us to go in together." His hands trembled as he thought of what to do next, he was reluctant to use his powers but he knew it needed to be done. He closed his eyes, took in a few deep breaths and the concentrated, creating two fake ids, one for him and the other for Leighton. "Here you go Veronica Briggs. You are now a 22 year old congrats. And I am your high school bff Matthew Larue." He handed Veronica's to Leighton, her image and everything that would be in a real license.

Jimx began to fill with anger. It started seething inside of h as Shaw continued to mock the unlucky mutant. Shaw, however, was soon to be the most unlucky of them all. His eyes locked on to the traitor of his own kind and he tried to Jinx the bloodied mutant. He could feel that his power wasnt sticking and he tried and tried again. Each failure bringing in more and more frustration and hatred towards the man. One after another the jinxed failed to grip the man and he wished he could've held on to the previous one for longer. No matter, Magneto and Polaris seemed to be taking advantage of his weakened state and the Three in One as well as Emma had managed to gain hold of his mind and keep h still.

As a menacing grin slowly started to form, watching Shaw get impaled one by one with knives. It simply wouldn't do for Jinx to stand idly by, no he wanted to inflict as much pain as he could on the man and get back se semblance of dignity. "Its such a shame Shaw, you talk such a big game and all it took was a minor Jinx from me to help incapacitate you and you didn't even notice." His eyes glanced at Polaris as he held his hand out, clearly asking for a dagger before she floated one over to him and he began to run his finger alongside the blade. "What is it they say? An eye for an eye? I think that'll do just nicely, you don't deserve a quick painless death, you hardly deserve the effort to use my powers to throw you out this window. No, this will do just fine." Jinx walked over towards the coward, knife in hand, and then ran the blade straight into his right eye, slowly at first and then with more speed as his grin persisted.

As Salem departed from Lilie, he grabbed one of the non alcoholic beverages and made his way towards the back of the ballroom. A large glass pane between him and the moonlit sky as he looked out amongst the stars and held the drink in his hand, swirling it but never actually taking a drink. He needed some air, some time to himself to think. He cracked the glass door open, slipping away into the back and closing it behind him as he inhaled deeply. He poured the drink into the grass before him and then removed a flask from his vest pocket, pouring some more tequila into the glass and taking a hearty sip. There was a loud exhale as he pulled out his phone and began to type out a message to Lilie.

Lilie, these past few weeks have been amazing because of you. The morning excersises, classes, even Treaty Law, all made bearable thanks to your kind demeanor and sweet smile. I think my feelings have grown and that perhaps im-

The message was quickly deleted as he shook his head and stared into his glass, taking another sip before putting his phone away. There was a noise, the sound of clanking metal or a leather strap being undone? Perhaps someone was undoing their belt in an attempt to have a more...fun, night. They probably didnt realise there was half the student body just beyond the glass panes who could see them. Salem began to make his way towards the noise, seeing a light in the distance before it went out and the body began to move away. As he neared closer he could smell the scent he'd come across time and time again in his clinic. Something was certainly wrong here. He pulled out his phone, using the flashlight to inspect the body without touching it, nothing the distinct Mark's of a vampiric attack as well as the glowing runes on her hand. He snapped a few photos of them as he made note of they're steady decline in luminosity. Perhaps the power was fading given that the cast was dying? Or maybe this was a joint attack from a vampire and mage alike?

Salem followed around the corner and kept his presence hidden and away from the belt-less person he was pursuing, until finally he reached him, and a few others. He hid for a moment, wondering if he should message Lilie, she had just asked him not to keep secrets from her, and to come to her for aid but...this could ruin her night, set her back on her vampire relations,
and what's more he wasnt exactly sure what she could do about this situation. No, he had to confront this person alone. As he approached and heard the voices, they began to click in his head."Wait...Max? Eris? What're you, no, what were you doing?" Could it be that he misdiagnosed? Was it perhaps not a bite but two puncture wounds caused by the point of a belt clip? Was Max really capable of murder?

"Look, all I'm saying is that not everyone is who they were in their past life here. You were an ass, Jack's a theif, and some people are dead who should be alive. Besides, I'm sure you're...baby still loves you even if you were still Agent James." Max playfully punched James back. He turned his attention to what Jack was asking, something about the old X-men or new ones? He wasnt quite sure, to be honest he didnt know too much about the group aside from the media portrayals from when he was younger but those always came from far right news stations who painted them as villains or freaks to be dealt with. "I-I don't know to be honest. The group we're with, the underground, they just started listing names of other teams, alliances, or organizations and I searched for them. Given the vagueness of my search I got vague answers. Perhaps the people I found are old, new or have yet to be. There's no telling for sure." Max hung his head low, a bit disappointed he couldnt be of much more help at the moment. His eyes catching a peculiar sight, Jack had a child but no wedding ring.

He cleared his throat slightly before looking back up at Jack's eyes. "You know, Jack, I used to babysit a lot when I was younger. I'm actually really good with kids and dont mind the commit-" Suddenly Jack was yelling at him to Duck before he pushed him to the ground. For a fleeting moment, his body was pressed against him and Max's heart fluttered. He watched as the man lifted a bar stool to prepare for a fight and all he could do was imagine him shirtless. The loud commotion of a bar brawl brought him back and he saw the girl from the Hellfire Club in the crowd. "Jack, that blonde girl over there is a major telepath. She can control people and I bet she created this brawl as a diversion to do something sinister. Dont let her get away. Also...you may wanna lose the shirt it'll only get in your way."

Demetri shrugged at his little sister as she said she wanted to make her way to the barrier. As much as he wanted to keep her there and make sure shes safe, he also understood that they were the kids of the three most powerful gods in all of Olympus and as such they should use that status and strength to help others amongst the frontlines. Her lightning would be great for some AoE damage and his shifting could be used in various ways to defend or attack. Demetri started jogging along with his sister, signaling for Athanasia to join them at the barrier so she wouldnt be left alone. Already you could see the amount of campers going to help defend their current home, kids and teens who seemed to have been training for a day like this one, the situation almost cementing into him how different his life would be now. It wasnt all pranks and camp games, there was danger and risks much like in the tales he grew up reading.

It was his turn to help out, but he needed a clearing, an opening to be able to do what he needed. Demetri waited for an opening and then began to sprint. His body shifting and transforming as he did, turning into a large elephant that was now charging at the barrier and going bowling for Empousa's. Head held low, he knocked a group with his skull, quickly flicking up and goring them with his tusks before turning his head to have his trunk swing and bash into a few more, killing seven of the Empousa threats. He turned to face another group, trunk and front legs raised in the air as he trumpeted before slamming his front to legs back down on the ground to make a loud sound. It was clear he meant business and wasn't about to let these monsters ran amok.
