Salem groaned as Max informed him that the onlookers hadn't decided to move away. A simple act to show his disdain for this plan even though it wasn't fully honest. He ignored Max's comment about him enjoying himself, deciding it didnt need an answer. A few moments later before Salem was about to remove himself from Max and tell the crowd to leave, he felt a strong tug at the back of his collar, forcefully removing him off the metal mage as the voice demanded his name and year. Salem wiped his mouth with the back of his sleeve as he stared deadpan at Max. "Thank goodness the calvarys here. I was just about to try plan B when suddenly I felt a great weight lifted off my shoulders. I'm sure I dont have to reiterate this but perhaps you may want to check beneath the mound of tall grass." Salem turned to face Max and rolled his eyes at this whole fiasco. "Eris mind asking him to let me go? Hes wrinkling this expensive fabric and I'd hate to see him ruin it beyond what damage may have already been done." Honestly he didn't care for the material or outfit too much, but he hoped that Eris would care enough to have him let go. It was bad enough being tied to this mess, now hes being seen man handled by a guard and that could only further hurt his place in the investigation. Salem needed to appear to be a well rounded student after all.

Demetri watched as Andy ran off unable to speak in protest. Arty soon followed and he found himself lost. He stared blankly for a moment as the two ran off towards their cabin. A warm gentle hand was placed on his shoulder, seemingly lifting some weight that he had burdened from Ashs death. "It was under my control...I could've said no, I could've stayed here and protected them from the attack, I could've told her to follow along with us as we headed back to lunch...I could've..." Demetri stared off for a moment, his long gaze only coming back at Alannahs second comment. "Screw Elysium, she should be here instead." He stood up off the table and moved away from her, her hand sliding off his shoulder as he looked outside. He didn't want to seem overbearing and was sure the two young ones needed some space to address their feelings, but he didn't want to leave them alone, vulnerable and unsafe.

Demetri shifted himself into a Raven, flying off and soaring above the camp. He hadn't seen any sign of her body, most likely being dealt with by other campers of the appropriate house or perhaps there was a sort of ritual that was enacted each time a child of a god passed. He saw no sign of Empousas or other such creatures, only stains of blood he could assume were hers. The wind carried the scent of iron towards him and it made his stomach churn as he turned away from the sight and headed towards his cabin. Perched atop the roof looking in he could see Andy and Arthur crying and he could do nothing to help. But what he could do was watch, remain vigilant, and be there incase there was another attack towards them.

He sat there silently for a breath. What did he remember? Too much if you asked him. Countless things he wished to have blocked out, yet his mind could recount them as if it were merely memories of that afternoon. His hands tightened into little fists as he grabbed onto the jean fabric of his pants and looked down at the ground. She asked what they knew of fairytales and his mind could only spiral in wonders as how that had anything to do with their current subject. Finally there was mention of another person, a separate entity that had written the letters and knew about the situation than she, yet here she was instead of him, playing games with the hearts of two young boys who only wished to have answers and yet they received more questions. Think, think, think. What could this all have in common? What threads held all of them together aside from the orphanage? There was a sharp sigh before a quivering voice, one who didn't wish to recount a tale they hoped lost.

"What do I remember? I recall all the years of torment and torture that I had to endure. Years of knowing how I wasn't good enough not only for one of my parents but also for any of those who came to adopt a child out. It only grew grimmer and grimmer the longer the years went by, knowing no one wanted a damaged child, a kid too old to grow yet too young to fend for himself. I remember the countless years I spent searching for my parents in the eyes of every stranger I met and wondering when my life would begin. I remember...I remember..." The idea of fairytales popped back into his mind, a thought running through his head as he recalled a dream hes had so many nights. "A scattered dream that's like a far-off memory... a far-off memory that's like a scattered dream...an old room, octagonal, covered in doors of various sizes, all locked except for one, I remember mushrooms and rocking horses, all so very out of reach." At this moment Maddy was staring off, straight into the ground but almost as of he wasnt there, fully envisioning the nightmare he had had so often growing up. "Who are you? Who wrote these letters?"

Max was blasted by a volt of electricity, numbness filling his body for a brief moment before quickly coming back to him. Perhaps his brain just needed a jump start? Maybe Veils words got to him? Or there was always the chance that his will had won out. Regardless of the reason, Max was back to himself again and he stayed a hit that was marked for Veils temple. He heard as Jack asked what was going on and Max chose not to answer at the moment, instead whispering an incantation as a sparkling pink cane appeared between his hands and its reflective edges made it all the easier to see. He ran towards Nightcrawler as he watched him release Leighton and be barraged by Veil. "Let's see you try and fight when you're down a leg or two." He gripped the cane in his right hand and shot it straight towards Nightcrawlers kneecap, missing his target but using the moment of the jab to grip it with both hands, swing it back and hit the devilish mutants right kneecap head on with a loud thwack.

If anything, hopefully the mutant wouldn't be able to crawl about anymore, the seeing pain inhibiting him from doing too much acrobatic work and relying on being on the defensive instead. The tail was still an issue, yet if he could strike his other kneecap, potentially breaking it, then his legs would be obsolete for the fight and he'd have no choice but to surrender. "Hey maybe nows not the time to stand and ask what's going on, someone here has the ability to affect minds and made me feel a sick high, major aggression, and the want to hurt my friends, find them and know them out. Sunshine if that thud was you, and for once I hope it was, can you give this guy severe allergies? No anaphylactic shock, just swollen eyes." Max was used to studying his opponents and using their strengths as weaknesses, but this was a whole new level. He could hardly see who he was fighting and that made his analysis much harder to do.

Jinx looked around and saw the display before him. Countless mutants sitting around in power dampeners looking miserable and chained as if they were mere toys to these humans. The sight was enough to make him sick. Sure he didn’t agree with what the Three in One had done, but they sure as hell deserved that death, if not one far more excruciating and painful. He walked about the car whistling a jaunty circus tune as he began to search for their prizes, ears perking up only when Anastasia had decided to speak to him in acknowledgment. She had a point, he should have a bit more self preservation, if not for his own skin than for the sake of all mutant kind. After all, who else will topple the human regime and replace it with one of mutant superiority? The Three in One? He didn’t think so.

Now why would Jinx go and upset anyone? Especially someone or something hidden away in a giant metal box covered in chains with hardly any visible entrances. Just a few cents for breathing and a sliding door to get fed, that was all. Jinx peeked through all the openings, attempting to get a good look at the prisoner within the prison and he saw a rather handsome man. He perked up his best smile and began his best attempt at persuasion. "Heeeeey buddy, listen it looks mighty cramped in there. Hows about I let you out and we can go someplace with endless food and pleasures? But you gotta play nice with me ok?" He could hear a voice respond from the other side, but what they said was less than ideal. "Why would I go somewhere with you when there are rolling hills, green valleys, endless lakes, mountains calling out to my soul....." Jinx scrunched his nose at the man and stood back "Well now that's just rude. Hey Ana, I got one over here though he doesnt wanna go with us."

River

"Looks like it's my turn!" There was a bit of trepidation in him as he knew his spells wouldnt hot as hard, not only that but his lowered mana meant that he couldnt burst as much as he's used to for a beginning of a fight. Holding out his wand, static began to form around the tip as his sleeves billowed slightly due to the pool of mana and energy flowing around him. The magic settled and a brilliant blue crackling orb shot out and slammed into the remaining Blue baby with a Lightning Shot. Using the momentum from the kick back of the spell, River wove his wand in a geometric arcane shape while chanting as he coalesced the static that had just crackled against the Baby Blue and weaponized it into a blast of Shock that sent electric pulses throughout the squishy body of this monstrous plant. As his final move River held out his free hand and called forth some of the lightning still barraging the plant. It flowed to him as if he were a lightning rod and he began to mutter another incantation that forced the energy to compress into a bright white orb at the tip of his finger before he let it follow the natural path back towards the Baby Blue as a Finger Lightning.

Max stood there and watched as Peitro continued with his theatrics. He was always one to be a drama queen and this time was no different. There may have been a few members within this group who knew him in the real world, knew about his connection to Wanda and how it could be used, Max however had no inkling that it even existed, nor did he know such a thing could exist. He still saw no value in his whining or chastisement of the group since Pietro never let the group know that this was even an option. Max's attention shifted over to Guin as she began to spew some bullshit about him being anti-feminist or something and it was honestly ridiculous. "If I wanted to take the time to apologize for all of my mistakes then we'd be here all day. This has nothing to do with gender or what ever other bullshit it is you care to believe but everything to do with brevity. I assumed you would be intelligent enough to know that the apology extended to both of you seeing as how I attempted to Jinx you both. Clearly the Stark intellect fell far from the tree." Max shook his head as Klara opened the portal to the castle, these people were always so quick to attack without a plan of action.

He stepped through not caring to hear any protest or complaint as to what it is he said, seeing Tony arguing with Miranda and wondering if perhaps the Starks just weren't intelligent in this reality? Maybe Wanda messed with their head too much and caused their IQ to drop a few numbers leaving them intelligent but unwise. He stood there quietly as he waited for the rest to finish speaking before finally speaking up himself. "I agree with Allison over there, we should make sure each team has similar makeups. A portable, someone with the ability to deal with minds, one of you three prophecies to help guide the way, muscles, and magical muscle. This should help ensure we are well equipped regardless who faces her. But before we proceed, is it possible for you three with the ability to see into events to look for the best possible outcome before we head off?"

Demetri lay there peacefully as the three of them had a bit of a chin wag. Listening to the sounds of the plates clatter while the Harpies continued to clean up the area. The sound was fairly reminiscent of back home, hearing his father pick up the dishes to bring over to him mum who would clean them. There was a bit of a bitter sweet feeling to this nostalgia. Showing just how far and hmm ow fast life can change in such a short amount of time, seeing a veil that once covered his eyes in fog now lifted to see a world he didn't know was possible. This ofcourse came at the price of seeing his family less, and making bonds with a new family he would find here at camp. Demetri made note of the demi-gods affiliation with the goddess of wisdom and saw that as a bit of an unfair advantage when it came to wits and knowledge. Arthur mentioned once more how he didn't have his dagger on him but that they could either go to retrieve it or grab one from a training shed nearby.

Before Demetri could speak up his opinion that they should get his personal dagger, Andy came into the cafeteria by herself. Hearing her steps approach them he tilted his head back to see how sister upside down and with a look of concern plastered across her face. As if she had read his mind, Andy told them what was worrying her, the news that Ash was dead. It was as if the whole world fell silent, nothing else could be heard besides his own thoughts and Andy's voice echoing the statement on repeat. How could this happen? They killed all of the Empousa's. Didnt they? Did he miss one? Or more? Was this his fault? He never should have allowed for them to enter the battlefield. He should've kept them safe within the walls of the cafeteria where he could protect them if any managed to slip by. There was a knot in his throat as he attempted to speak, only able to sit upright on the table now and turning to face Andy and Arthur. "How could I let this happen..."

A piece of cloth that the victim was holding? He doubted it was a focus, and had Max not put it away so quickly he could have at least attempted to snap a photo to compare it to other the ensembles of the other guests at this event. Perhaps he could persuade Max to pull it out again so that he could? Then again, if he did trust him enough with that fabric then he wouldn't have placed away so quickly. Of all the people to be wrapped up I'm this mess with why did it have to be the most stubborn, least trusting or open person in this entire school, well besides Varis. Salem began to look around, wondering where Eris had gone off to as well as how long it would take him to get back. There were beginning to be eyes that watched in curiosity and suspicion, two things that would end poorly if either they were accused of murder or a mass panic spread across the party. The former being especially bad for Salem given the fact that he was under investigation for potentially working or coming I'm contact with the Red Hand. There was a short sigh as he tried to think of some other solution, some way to make the others veer away and stay clear of this area all together.

Suddenly before he could even react, Max was grabbing him by the collar and moving closer. His face closer to Salem than it has ever been. As Max spoke he could feel the heat of his breath hitting against his lips, his eyes fixated on Max's and only occasionally moving down to his lips. It appears that Max had the same idea of ushering others away from this area, what he didn't expect was for his idea to involve the pair making out. Max was, however, a very attractive guy and a chance like this doesnt happen often, especially with someone as unmoving as the metal mage himself. Max jested that he hoped Salem was drunk enough for this, and Salem knew he was sober enough to enjoy it yet tipsy enough to actually fall through with it. As soon as Max was about to finish his sentence, Salem cut him "Oh just shut up and kiss me" He pressed his lips against Max's, grabbing him by his waist and pulling him closer so that they were pressed hip to hip. Salem used the momentum to turn the two mages around and pressed Max against the buildings wall, moving his lips from Max's down to his next as he whispered "Are they leaving?" He hoped the answer was not yet, he hoped they could go on for a moment longer, but he knew that they needed this crowd to disperse.

Maddy tugged at the end of Colbys jacket that he was still wearing, unsure of how to proceed forward. Colby said the woman appeared to young to be the one who wrote the letters and he may have been right, perhaps she was too young to have anything to do with this. She was the only person who seemed to be looking their way however and that made him nervous. Maddy took a step behind Colby, holding on to his right arm as he rested his chin on his shoulder speaking in a low voice ”I don’t know...maybe we should just go back home... you might be right. We could just watch some T.V. at my place with my cat and have a nice evening forgetting about all of this.” He so wished that he could, but deep down inside he knew he would never be able to let this day go. His mind started racing, searching for an answer as to how this woman may be part of a larger puzzle when he began to wonder if maybe she knew because she was also dropped off when they were, and given her age she would be able to recall who it was that did it.

Before he could say anything however, the stranger took a single bite of her apple and then tossed it away, telling the two boys that she was much older than she appeared and that she knew who wrote the letters. Was his suspicion confirmed? Or was this just another piece to a much larger puzzle that had now been laid before them. As she made her way towards a bench, she motioned for the pair to follow, and without thinking, without hesitation or fear or any sense of trepidation, Maddy took a step forward. His curiosity now getting the better hold on him as he stared straight forward towards a new myster for him to solve. What could this all mean? Who is she to him? Are Colby and him brothers? Oh god...are Colby and him brothers? That was a mystery he needed solved and soon. He sat down next to the woman ”What do you know?”

Max felt the chill of Leighton’s ice fly past him as it hit near the door, the sudden frigid ness making him glad that he now had a poncho for a bit of warmth. He couldn’t quite tell how this mutant was getting around, but if it was super speed then perhaps her idea of dropping the temperature had a lot of merit. Make the speedster burn more calories just to keep warm and they’ll quickly run out of stamina to be able to fight. Veil asked Max to create some lanterns for them all to see, and panic soon set in. There was two ways he could think about doing them, one was your typical oil lantern which used real flames (an issue Max had been dealing with lately) another is to make electrical lanterns, but those are more complex to create. In conjunction with all of that, he was worried that using his powers too much would inevitably cause for him to mess up again and take another life, something he was no where near being ready to do again. Despite this, an order was an order and he would trust that Veil knew what she was asking. As he went to speak there was a sudden thwap around his neck and he was soon being choked by what he could only assume was a tail.

Panic set in as the situation became more and more dire until suddenly that panic was gone, over ridden by a new set of emotions that gave him a nice high yet increased his aggression. He could feel the others who felt the same as him, knowing who to strike. The demon, however, still had a grip on him and Max was sure to rectify it. Using the training he’d had growing up, he swung his right leg up in the air and wrapped it around Nightcrawlers tail, pulling it down and forcing the mutant to release his grasp on him. Now that he was free to fight who he wished, Max turned his ire towards the leader of this group, the one who made him go on a mission when he wasn’t ready to be back on his feet. He searched for the bat Leighton had used earlier but to no avail. That’s fine, there are other ways to break kneecaps. As he approached the frizzy haired mutant, he side kicked her aiming for the kneecaps to help further incapacitate her but was met with a force field blocking him. This setback didn’t discourage him as he quickly went for another hit, this time an open palm to her lower ribs. He felt the hit connect, but again it was merely her powers blocking his attacks and fueling the aggression that he was harboring towards her.

Jinx gave Anastasia an over exaggerated bow as she finished speaking. ”Anything for you my queen. I shall make sure that I don’t raise suspicion, make a mess, or otherwise give mutants a bad name.” There was some sincerity within his statement, however it was clear that he still wasn’t too pleased that she got a promotion while he got a reprimand. She was, however, a much better choice than the Three in One and he savored every moment that he could feel their bitterness towards the subject. No sooner had Anastasia asked Jinx not to do unnecessary harm than the three in one had gone off and killed some humans on board. He rolled his eyes at the display and tapped his finger on his lips as he eyed the three stooges. [color=CC99FF]”Ah I see you guys also don’t know what the word discretion means, good i suppose that means this weeks mutant manic panic can be blamed on you three stooges. Now if you’ll excuse me you over glorified train brakes, i’ve got some VIPs to escort.”[color]

As Jinx made his way towards the train, his finger found its way towards his mothers ring. Softly touching it as he took his steps towards what he hoped would be praise and greatness, or at the very least more freedom to take down the American government so that mutants could rule the world as they rightfully should. ”Mere observent s’il vous plait au-dessus de moi” He kissed the ring and placed it back into his pocket before proceeding to the middle train car. Sure there was a one in three chance that they’d be in there but it made sense to have the other two full of guards and the center protected, or at least that was his logic. He popped a piece of bubble gum in his mouth and tried to make his way into the center train car.
