The food looked amazing as his plate was brought over to him. It appeared that Colby had a few affairs to deal with back in Kansas as well before decidingly settling down in this whole new world. Maddie began to eat his food, savoring the flavours and heat of the dish when he realized the speed at which the others were eating. Perhaps his father and the others didn't have much time for leisurely meals, opting to scarf food down whenever it came so that they could've forward to the next objective. He certainly could see how someone could build a new habit from living on the run, though he'd hoped that they at least could slow down now that they lived in a place where they ran a shop. Cheshire looked towards a clock to check the time, and it made Maddie curious as to if all Wonderland creatures were constantly behind in time.

Maddie gave a slight sigh of disappointment before he began to attempt to finish his meal. He took the slightly toasted bread and began to scoop up swaths of sauce, slicing a bit of his egg and placing it atop the piece. He took a bite, savoring the flavour for only a moment before repeating the procedure until his plate was quickly wiped clean. Maddie finished his water and finally got up, looking at the strange coins on the table as he followed the rest. "Do you think Oz is real? If so, what're the chances Elphaba isn't a bad Witch at all?"

Demetri smiled behind his arms, still choosing to rest his head onto the table to hide most of his face with the exception of one eye. He closed his eyes trying to think of what it was that he was wanting to do today. There was a warm sensation when Zeke pressed his arm next to his and began to prattle on about herbs and lunar cycles, and who knew what else. For just a moment, it felt as though they were back in the Infirmary. Away from prying eyes and nosey Nancy's. Away from being the subject on someone's lips for the sake of entertainment. And in that comfort Demetri was lulled into making a mistake, he moved closer towards the warmth, snuggling next to Zeke and rested his head onto his arm. His eyes were still closed, wincing slightly at the change in temperature from the warmth of his arms to the biting cold then back to the warmth of Zekes.

Demetri had no idea what it was he wanted to do. He wanted to spend the afternoon with Zeke. To talk about what had happened the night before, and potentially see where he could move forward from there. If there was any moving forward at all. But that sounded incredibly cheesy and Zeke would likely tease him for saying such things, so he'd have to make up some form of plan for what he wanted to do today and then naturally fit in a conversation. "Oh hey, I was thinking of visiting Hecate Cabin as well. I wanted to talk to them about a few personal matters nso that might work out." His voice was quiet in an almost dreamlike state as a cloud above shifted and a few rays of light peppered his face to help warm it on the cold day.

Cassian could work with that. He beamed from ear to ear, thinking about the rules and how fairly simplistic they seemed for now. If he was allowed to bring his fathers gift, then he could use vines to tangle up the spokes in other chariots. He'd have to make sure to watch out from the children of Demeter who could potentially counteract what he was doing, though it'd be unwise to allow a competitor to stay on the field. Cassian hadn't tried using his mother's powers on objects before, or at the very least not to great lengths. He began to wonder if they could play well with the race, but worried about what Dean had said. No killing and No Greek Fire. Cassian wished to do neither, but Chaos was as it chose to be. In the randomness of it all it could potentially maim or kill someone.

Cass decidedly agreed to himself he would try his best not to use his mother's gift during the race. This was also assuming he'd even get to take part in the race. His smile faltered for a brief moment in the corner of his mouth. "I wouldn't mind being the aggressor if someone could drive. I think I could shake things up a bit, give Cabin D a lead at least. But I'm also more than happy to just help work on the chariot, at least I'll have been contributing in some way." Cassin proceeded to eat more of his food, thinking more about what it is he could do.

Max wasn't exactly satisfied with Jack's answer. He wasn't fully certain he believed that the world had predestined plans for everyone, but he did believe that sometimes fate would get involved into someone's life and change the course of where they stand. After all, had Max kept his mouth shut, had he never tried to warn Sunshine about the dangers of using her powers outdoors, then she never would have followed him and they wouldn't have had the cops chasing them and then a whole chain of events wouldn't have been set forth. Leighton would still be alive most likely, the Morlocks safe, and Max would still be on the streets. But then the mutants would've had the 'heroes' who would stop the X-cutioner and help pave the way for this island. To think that was all happenstance and not the hand of fate pushing them towards the right direction…Max didn't know how anyone could think that.

Luckily for him, the conversation seemed to be pulled into a whole new direction as James arrived at their table. It worked out so well that Casoer had just been asking about the future with him and what it held, because here James was speaking about another named Destiny who had suggested the very same thing. Destiny, Fate, whether by coincidence or by the cards design, Max was watching it all unfold before him. He arched his brow at James and then back at Casper. "The cards don't lie. Go off and talk you two lovebirds. Ben can keep me company, maybe I'll get a Ouiji board or something to help communicate with him."

"Right. I keep forgetting about the whole no money deal here. Definitely not something I'm used to yet." Harry replied to Sunshine. He actively chose to ignore the comment about her thoughts on him wanting to get stepped on. That particular kink wasn't one he had, but he could see what she was getting at. Andy, unfortunately, appeared to have had enough of the conversational topics and got up and left for a walk. His eyes followed her for a moment until Marrow spoke up with more information about Northstar. His eyebrows rose in amazement for a moment.

Harry whistled in an impressed manner. "Those are quite the achievements. Olympic winner? And he had several powersets? Though I hope he isn't a speedster in every sense. Impatience only leads to a very disappointing ending after all." He sat back in his seat for a moment, thinking if anything this mutant was out of his league. "A part of me wonders if I can even compete, then another part tells me that I'm one of the heroes of Genosha who just stood against children of The Vault and pushed them back on two fronts. So I think we're tied on that."

Demi noticed too late that Kristin had stolen the bacon he was offering to Zeke. His mouth barely opened to protest before deciding it wasn't even worth the trouble. Janelle had left them now, which made Demi wonder if Zeke’s attention would follow her and have him jump seats to another table. But before he could delve too far into his self deprecating thoughts, he felt a sudden pressure pressed against his leg. Zeke had managed to press his leg against him once more, causing Demi to think that he simply wanted him fully out of the seat. Fortunately for him, Zeke already seemed to see how his mind might work and he snaked his leg around Demetri's making it so that he couldn't leave.

Demi blinked twice, wondering what had just happened before burying his face into his arms to hide the blush that was running rampant. He felt stupid, and embarrassed, and so utterly hopeless at how wrong he was. What's more, this display of affection made him feel a whole hurricane of emotions that encompassed more than he'd ever experienced before. Demi scooted a bit closer to Zeke once more, trying to let him know that he got the message. He looked up just enough to have one eye peak through his arms and looked at how ridiculous Zeke looked. "You look like a bloody pirate." He said teasingly, a grin hiding beneath his arms.

Cassian pursed his lips. He wasn't sure how well trying to get to know the Praetor would go. Though the idea that there might simply be too much on her plate definitely made sense. After all they lost their home, were thrown into a chaotic camp with no regards for ranks or rules, and have suffered a great loss. Anyone may be a bit sensitive after all that, and it made Cassian feel a bit worse for having pushed her and the others so far the night before. He thought of Madalyne and her curse, the way she spouted it out as if to appease him for his need of secrets. There was a short sigh followed by a long drink from his cup.

He shot Dean a smile as he was invited to their cabin to work on the chariot. "Could be fun. Sure we can whip up a cool design with some surprise features. After all someone in our cabin should be able to make this…right?" There weren't too many of them, but hopefully with teamwork they could win the race. There was also the matter of the fighter. "What're the rules on fighting? Powers? No powers? Any restrictions?" It may be frowned upon, but perhaps a little madness could help even out the playing field. Some campers may be harder to enchant than others, but if even a few got knocked out because of it.

Maddie's brows knit together as Aurora posed her question. It wasn't one he'd thought of much, in part because he worried thinking too much about the future may make him home sick enough to want to go back. He took another long drink from his water, placing the glass down and looking at his muddled reflection in it before looking to Colby. "I don't know. I hadn't really thought about it. Where we'd go, where we'd be welcome, or even what's wanted…" There wasn't much to do back in Kansas, but there were those who'd worry about him. There was his apartment with all his belongings, his life of independence. There was the shop where Maddie first met Colby, and the ones he'd frequent just to steal glances.

Maddie tried to think about it, the pros and the cons of the decision. But he couldn't well decide. After a moment, he had decidedly leaned against Colbys shoulder and rested his head there. "To be quite honest, I'll most likely be happy wherever he goes. Sure I have old memories and things I wish to keep. But those can be retrieved and recalled, and I can forge new memories and stories the more I press forward. I'm not as sure that it's about where I end up, rather the journey I take ong the way and those who stand beside me."

Demetri couldn't help but notice the frown on Zeke's face. It was hard not to when they were so close together. Zeke's question stabbed Demi as if each word were a knife aimed right at his chest. The annoyance was clear in his tone as he asked him not to mother him. He could feel a knot beginning to form in his throat, unable to even respond to him at the moment. Zeke hadn't moved his hand, one he barely even noticed he'd placed, but that could easily be due to Janelle's sudden question about this morning's antics. Zeke's answer left much to be desired, mostly because it felt as if he was still trying to hide something. But if that was the case then why so boldly sit at Zeus's table?

Demi wasn't sure what to say, simply sitting there attentively looking at the conversation but not fully participating in it. He felt Zeke's leg press into his, and with the whirlwind of emotions now swirling inside of him he couldn't tell if he should stay or go. He didn't want to upset Zeke any further, and he felt as if he was treading thin ice as is. So Demi slowly moved his hand off of Zeke's lap, and pulled his leg away enough so that neither could feel the other's pressure but were still close enough to share body heat. If Zeke wanted him to stay, he'd have to make the move to do so. "Right. Just…didn't wanna be lonely is all. Not after last night." Demi slid his plate over from the other side of the table and placed it in front of Zeke. "Have it. I've lost my appetite" He said softly as he placed his arms crossed onto the table and rested his chin on them.

Cassian scrunched his nose at the mention of the Counselor meetings topic. While he agreed it was something that needed to be done, he couldn't help but think of that Praetors nasty attitude. "Word of advice. Pretty sure the Praetor hates us. Either that or she really dislikes me. I offered up being the liaison and she all but dug me a grave." Cassian hoped it wasn't the latter, but also feared what it would mean if she hated the god who ran the camp. If that was the reasoning then why did she hate either of them. He thought for a moment, ripping off another piece of toast and decorating it with jams and butter just before he ate it.

Cassian waited until he swallowed before speaking again, taking a sip from his tea. "Haven't had a chance to see a chariot race, it should be fun. Though if we have to build things…wouldn't Hephaestus cabin be a shoe in? That's kinda their thing and all." Cassian tried to imagine what a chariot of Dionysus would even look like. Would it be held together by vines or actually structurally sound? Would they simply add motifs to it to honor their godly parenthood? "Mind if I sit in? Wouldn't mind seeing how it's all done. Granted I never learned how to build anything outside of camp, so I don't really know how much I can help."

Max couldn't help but laugh at Caspers antics. He should've figured a wild child like him would attempt to snap a bit when a finger got too close. As much as Casper drove him up a wall before, he could easily see the charm that James was quickly falling head over heels for. "I'm still on the fence about Selene. She's helpful but…there's a lot to her and I rather figure that out before I go placing too much trust there. I'd ask Strange but I don't think he'd appreciate me using him like a yellowpages. As for Wanda…I was told she wasn't on this island. Whether by choice or by omission I'm not fully sure, but either way she isn't here." Max turned his attention off towards the Green Lagoon. Looking past the water as if to try and glimpse a sight of the Scarlet Witch back on the mainland.

The magic users here were all wonderful, Pixie especially, though not too many remained after the attack from Cthulhu himself. But it made Max wonder, out of all the strong mages he'd encountered, why was only Selene on this island? Wanda refused to come, Strange wasn't a mutant so that made sense, but then where was Runa? The Goddess of Lies. Where was her cousin Klara? The more he thought about it the more he wanted to know about Selene and the visions he'd seen when they shared a consciousness. "Why do you hate Tarot so much Jack? Afraid you'll see something bad?"

Harry listened as Sunshine spoke about another French-Canadian twin hero. It'd be nice to date someone with whom he had something in common, though he paused at the mention of the fact that he was an asshole. "Why did you list asshole as a possible good thing? Though it also matters on what kind of asshole. Like does he at least leave a bare minimum of twenty percent on a tip? Because if it's any lower than that I'm sorry we can't date." Harry said half jokingly. He caught some interest in the idea of a Real Housewives of Genosha. Trash TV on an island full of mutants? Sign him up for a seat of the drama. But the conversation quickly halted as Sunshines attention seemed to pull towards Zari and Andy again.

Harry was actually surprised at how well Andy had described it. He was curious as to where exactly she'd learned all this, but then again he figures the youth of today had more access to this sort of knowledge than he had back when he was younger. "I, for example, am Pansexual. It means I like kitchen appliances." There was a short pause before he continued "That's a joke, please don't take that seriously. But it does mean that Sunshine and Marrow aren't limited to the binary of male or female for their attempts at finding me a match. I'm pretty open to what's around me, though that doesn't mean I don't have my preferences on certain things. Oh, what's Northstars power by the way?"

Maddies listened as the conversation continued. Sitting there quietly as he sipped from his glass of water, eyes glancing from one person to another as they spoke. His head tilted slightly as Colby began to ask about tea parties. Maddie hadn't followed at first, confused as to why Colby thought that tea party hosting was an inherited skill and not a learned one but then it finally clicked. Maddie looked around the diner once more, recalling that this wasn't guaranteed to be rebel friendly. It wasn't a speakeasy for those against the Dark Faerie like Gretel's bar was.

Maddie was about to speak when the Waiter came back and began asking for their orders. He glanced back at the menu looking for something that sounded new but delicious. "I'll have the Shakshuka please, and if possible a side of pita with marinated fennel." he took another drink of his water before sliding his hand back into Colbys. "What about you?" He asked, leaning slightly closer to him.

Who died and made Kristin a child of Zeus? Demi's emotions were already flaring and her inviting Zeke’s crush to his table made him even more annoyed. He wanted to stare daggers at her, but knew better than to show his emotions too strongly in front of everyone. He noticed Zeke sticking his tongue out, making Demi’s heart jump loops as it went through another roller-coaster of emotions. Zeke was adorable, cute, and just an all around dork. But on the other side of that coin he was annoying and testing Demi's patience at the moment as he decidedly invited Janelle to sit with them as well. Demi quickly began to feel unwelcome or unwanted at his own table. It wasn't till Demi noticed Zeke's look and tone in his eyes that he realized he was just being polite at the moment. He breathed out a soft sigh as he tried to calm himself.

Demetri turned to look towards Janelle, forcing a small smile as he was accustomed to doing around others at times. "You're at Zeus' table by the way. It's just me, Zeke, and Kristin at the moment since no one's bothered to tell you or introduce who's here. Andy's over by Hades table and Jason's over at Ares in case you were looking for him." He noted as Zeke stole a slice of bacon from his plate. Grabbing his spoon, Demi scooped up a small amount of beans onto it and flicked it towards Zeke, sticking his tongue out at him in an equally mature form of emotional communication. "Get your own bacon next time." Demi said teasingly before he realized he'd hit Zeke in the eye. He immediately panicked, getting up from his seat as he began to profusely apologize for it. Demetri sat next to Zeke, putting one hand on Zeke's lap as he began pulling his sleeve over the palm of his other hand and tried to wipe clear Zeke's eye. "Are you okay? Are you good? I'm so sorry - I didn't mean- it wasn't supposed to hit-"

Cassian could help but smile. His naturally blushed cheeks gained a bit more color as his brother complimented him. Of course it didn't help that it was still cold out. Every winter was the same, causing pink spots of blush across his cheeks, nose, and knuckles. He thought about how helpful his powers would actually be on a quest. The idea of making monsters do the chicken dance did seem like a good alternative to having to slay everything that came across them. But in the event it wasn't enough, Cassian was a trained archer and could utilize that if needed. "Yeah, I know I can do great. Just...sometimes I feel like my power isn't welcome in this world. Causing madness isn't exactly smiled upon."

Cassian gripped a plate, filling it with table grapes still on the vine, a few slices of semi-toasted bread, soft cheeses, different softened butters, and an assortment of marmalade. He sat down with Dean, plopping the large grape into his mouth as he contemplated his question. Cassian hadn't really thought of it to be honest. He chewed slowly before finally swallowing to answer. "No idea to be honest. Was thinking maybe I could pop over to Hecate's cabin and see if they needed help getting anything for the camps defenses. Maybe talk to the Satyrs or other woodland creatures to use nature magic and grow more reservoirs to combat these Eidelons. How about you?" Cassian asked as he tore a small piece of bread off the slice, lightly buttering it and applying the marmalade before gingerly putting it in his mouth.

Max couldn't help but melt and smile as he saw the love in Caspers eyes. It was clear that he meant what he'd said, which made Max roll his eyes in amusement. He lifted his left hand, what he'd heard called the hand of fate before, and booped his index finger onto Caspers nose. "If that's all you want, then you already have it Casper. I'm sure if you were to ask James to retire to Hawaii he'd agree to it in a heartbeat. Granted that there's no telepaths there to screw with his memories again that is." He began to pack up the cards, shuffling them quickly once more in order to get a fresh start. As he did, he began to ask himself a question. What does the future hold for Jack?

A card managed to slip out from the deck and land face down onto the table. Prompting Max to pick it up and see the results. He'd pulled this card once before, though before it was upright. Now it was upside down in his hand, loss or destruction peppering his thoughts. Max slipped the card back into the deck as if nothing happened, giving Casper a polite smile. "Like I said, still new. Gotta get used to shuffling these unwieldy things. So if you ever want more readings in the future I'd be glad to practice it out. Not like I know anyone here who could teach me."

Harry snickered at Marrow's comment. He was beginning to see why Sunshine liked her. Granted he should've known they'd have Uhalued it. Sunshine didn't seem like the pining type and neither did Marrow. Nor were either quite Tsundere types. If Harry had to guess, they'd have met doing something no one would approve of in the Underground...well maybe save for Casper. There was very little that ghostling mutant didn't approve of. Andy's suggestion that Zari was ace definitely sounded logical. After all she seemed to have the range of a teaspoon. Though whether she was Aro or Ace was yet to be determined. "Being Ace isn't a bad thing anyhow. I dated an Ace person once. Sadly they wanted different things than I and so we called it off."

Harry leaned against the table almost as if looking back at the memories. "A lot like having a best friend really. Could also have a QPR, or even a romantic relationship so long as you understand each other's boundaries. Casper for example I doubt has any boundaries. While I have a select few. But if you two haven't discussed this yet then we shouldn't be prying. Right, Sunshine? Besides, maybe you could matchmake for me instead. It'll be just like in Mulan, beautiful, iconic, and disastrous. " He said, trying to move the subject and attention away from Andy and Zari and onto anything else. He feared if anymore blush ran into Andy's cheeks she'd pass out from lack of blood to her brain.
