”I've never stated otherwise. Why do something myself when someone else is perfectly capable of doing it for me?” Barty replied to Alfonse as he took another sip of his Scotch. Moving in closer to Rohan as one of the new students was trying to get the square to actually take something. ”See? Under an hour. Now if only they'd drink more of my stock. You know, we traveled all the way to Japan and brought back some amazing alcohol from there and these people are already feeling the effects after a single use? A waste really.” Barty smirked before pulling out a small wrapped candy from his coat. ”Here, it's not enhanced or laced or anything. Straight from China, just a guava candy. I found them quite enjoyable in my time there.”

Barty placed one of the guava candies next to Rohan's cup, taking another and popping it in his mouth. If no one else was going to feed him some drugs, he may as well enjoy the show. He watched as someone's trip was taking a turn for the worse. Hallucination of a mass of corpses? Interesting. Another was spewing Bubbles…odd. He hadn't made any like that. Where did he? The thought was cut short as the bubble boy began to bother his beloved brother. Nicky of course reacted harshly as he always does, and yet in the end he consumed the candy given to him. For a brief moment, Barty's teeth clenched against the hard candy within his mouth as his grip around his Scotch tightened. He thought he'd have to intervene between the pair but…oh my goodness Nicholas what were you saying. Glad he was no one could speak their tongue here.

Millicent wanted to get this started, Rhiannon wanted to get this over with, and Sam simply wanted to get these people a book on how to liven up. You'd have thought this was a funeral. Ok, right maybe it was in an odd sort of way, and yes he'd had a plethora of emotions rampaging within him from the moment he'd seen the body to right now. But they all agreed something odd was happening within the what's of this Château and standing around with air so tense a bolt of lightning could be seen darting from eyes to eyes wasn't going to help anything. So he decided to take initiative, grabbing an umbrella out of the rack and stepping outside. ”Ok, since yall are being weird I guess I'll take the lead into the foray out in this lightened storm.”

There was one normal thing however, and that was Ralph. He seemed to be able to keep small talk better than the rest, even if Felix popped up like a phantom to announce today's food plans. It did get Sam thinking though. It reminded him of how he'd heard of old houses that kept maids and butlers and how they usually had hidden passageways for them to carry food and such so that they weren't actually seen throughout the house. He'd need to ask Julian about that, see if this house had any and what's more, if any were near the potential murder area. But between these people's inability to speak freely and Julian's work schedule, it would be hard to get some time to speak to her. Still, he pressed forward outside and began to make his way towards the marker on the map where Miguel was last seen. Who followed was up to them.

Dorian could feel Percy's irritation with him. But he had to see what he was doing wasn't nice. Ava looked about ready to cry and as soon as only one was standing, she gave up. Dorian blinked slowly. She…gave up?... He hardly had time to process the win as Leah came barreling towards them and gave Andy and him a huge hug. Another shock to his systems, since when was she this…excited? Happy? The moment she'd let go, Dorian phased out of Wil's body and looked towards both Wil and Ava. ”Good Match.” He said with a slight smile. It was bittersweet. He hadn't wanted to win from a surrender. But then again having five on one wasn't exactly fair odds so it made sense for Ava to forfeit. Still…

Danni came rocketing towards them, and as he heard his laughter, Dorian finally looked up towards the banners, watching the next matches announcement for the following day. They'd did it. They'd won. His pity party of one would have to wait, for now – ”WE WON! WE WON WE WON WE WON WE WON WE WON!!!!” Dorian yelled before whooping out loud as he added on to the cheers from the crowds and his own teammates. He squeezed as many as he could into a group hug. ”Wait Danni! K-BBQ night pleeeeeaaaaassssseeeee. Oh! We need to find April and Sabine!!! They gotta get in on this!”

Off in the stands, Harry had begun to throw off some ‘fireworks’ of his own. A full laser light show illuminating the sky as he cheered the kids on. Max shot up bolts of magic that erupted and fell like sparkling light. A personal bit of magic appearing before Agatha that just said ‘Better Luck Next Year’ for only her to see. He gave She-Hulk a T-shirt Canon so if she wanted to she could shoot out shirts for the Excelsior kids into the crowd.

Chase watched as the Margaret Carter kids won out the round, noticing that the little pipsqueak was none the worse for wear. He rolled his eyes in annoyance, looking towards Gideon. ”Well, that's lame. Could've at least taken more of them out.” His tone in equal measures bored and aggravated. He reached forward ruffling Ben's hair, if only because he'd already gathered how annoyed the guy was with physical contact. Chase, however, felt the days (or more) oil that had built on the bug boys hair, as he quickly pulled back and shook his hand. ”Maybe I'll catch you around, who knows. Your adoptive pop may have enrolled you in the same school my adoptive pop did. Anyways catch you two later, I'm going to go find some real fun.” He said as he leaned back quickly and faded away through the shadows. Inky tendrils dancing behind like smoke before they disappeared. He'd had half a mind to give one of the winners a wedgie, or trip them up, but decided that could always come later.

Sam waited a beat, listening in towards the doorway connecting him to Millicent. For a moment he wondered if it wasn't her, if someone had broken in and he'd just caught them. But she answered, and easily pushed that thought aside, thankfully. Still, he wondered what all the commotion was just moments ago, who was she entertaining in that room? Were they safe to speak around or was that why Millicent wished to speak later? So that they weren't heard by their guest. Sam nodded in agreeance towards her response. Not that she could see it anyways, there was a full door between them in fact. But that hadn't exactly clicked as he made his way out, ensuring to grab his reader with him just in case. That and a small flashlight.

As he exited the room, he turned and saw Tony standing there at Millicent's door. He looked as if he was about ready for a run, and Mil didn't seem all too excited to see him. Felix's boyfriend was hanging about the hallway, and the whole scene felt…off. Why was Tony at her door? Weren't they all meant to meet outside already? He didn't wanna announce it to the whole household that he was stepping outside, so he gave an awkward smile to the pair and made his way downstairs. Just as he began to make his way below, he felt his phone buzz middway down. Weird, must've gotten a bit of reception now that he's nearly outside. He paused and pulled out his phone, checking the cover screen as he read the message silently.

It read ”Miguel's last known location”

Above it was an attached image, a map of the island that had a marker in the graveyard by the old church. Oddly enough where Sam had wanted them all to reconvene. He'd initially wished to show everyone the tunnels Miguel had found to allow them movement in secrecy but…Sam didn't recognize this number, and he certainly wondered who knew where Miguel had been seen last and why? He shoved his phone back into his pocket and pushed towards the Foyer, spotting those below and some umbrellas in hand. ”Fancy seeing you all here. Nice weather right?”

Sam supposed that, to a degree, he had always been a bit superstitious. Even before all the paranormal investigations, he had some superstitions given to him by the theatre department he worked with. Before that he had some given down by his mother, although he'd never given them much thought or even viewed them as such. Looking back at it now? As he stood there in the shower allowing the heat and steam to aid in relaxing both his muscles and mind, he could see how the supernatural had followed him all his life. He was always told that hair held memories, it held your story. You could see within a hairs strand when a person had gone through a rough patch, you could also see when they did better, but above all that, it held on to energy.

When Sam was a little kid, he could recall his mother telling him on particularly bad days to sit by the tub as she sat in it and he leaned his head back. She'd wash his hair and tell him to tell her about everything that went wrong that day, and as he did he needed to imagine it all washing away with the water. Afterwards she'd give him a single braid along the side of his hair, telling him the next day would be better as she wove the hair. To this day Sam still washed his hair out on harsh days, maybe it was because he hadn't on that night that all this still felt so stuck. Then again, maybe it was because he wasn't ready to let go of what happened, that he hadn't washed his hair. For now, he needed to do better, for Renee's sake…and for Corey's.

He stood there letting what felt like all the negative energies of the last 24 hours wash away as he whispered to himself every bad thing that had happened since arriving at the island. Once he'd finished, he stepped out and grabbed a towel to dry himself off, quickly scrunching his hair to squeeze some water out before wrapping it around his waist. Sam wiped the fog away from a portion of the bathroom mirror as he stood there, speaking the same words his mother had whenever she'd braid his hair. He wasn't as good at braiding as she was, but he figured it'd still do the job well. He put on a white short sleeved button up alongside a baseball cap and light washed jeans He made sure not to leave any wet spots on the floor this time, though he could still hear a bit of commotion coming from Mills room. Sam knocked on the bathroom door gently before speaking up. ”Hey, you ok in there?”

”Maybe? I'm not really sure what caused what, but that's what I'm thinking it is.” Sam replied back to Rhi. His plate was empty, his cup long since dried up, and he was still sitting here in only his boxers and socks. They were all planning on meeting outside later anyways, so it probably helped to talk all together rather than to have to recap each person individually over and over again. So with that he stood up, locking eyes with Ralph for a brief moment before turning his attention over towards Felix. ”I'm fine as well, just going to go freshen up a bit.” His response polite and cautious. He didn't know what side of this Felix stood on, and he couldn't risk being seen as suspicious. Not unless he wanted the same swift exit Renee had met.

So Sam made his way over towards his room. Closing the door behind him softly with a light ‘click’. He pressed his back against the cold wood and tilted his head back. He had to think, had to find a way to survive all this…then again, maybe it'd be better if he didn't? He didn't feel as though he had much waiting for him back home anymore, and whatever darkness had befallen earlier this week seemed to be following within the shadows of his mind. Sam propped himself off the door and went straight for his bag, grabbing a higher tech EMF than the one he'd let Ralph use. They normally reserved this equipment for off camera use anyways, checking spots ahead of time where mundane things could trigger an EMF reader to fake a reading. That way they could avoid those areas, or if it did go off they'd know why.

Sam changed a setting on the device, changing it from EMF to RF and began to walk the room. Scanning near walls, plants, his bed, anywhere he may believe a camera or microphone would be placed. Given his knowledge in the field beyond Ghost Hunting, he could probably pinpoint the best locations to grab audio undetected. AV and Sound Tech Theater nerd at your service. But he didn't find anything, which led him to believe…he was being paranoid. He let out a sigh as he made his way to the joint bathroom, device still in hand just to be safe, when as he was about to place it down on the counter, he could hear muffled talking coming from Millicent’s room. Two voices, but he couldn't make out what or who's. He'd have to ask his (bath)roommate about it later. For now he turned on the hot tap and began to take his shower.
Dorian Gray

Dorian stood there, in Wil's body, but with full control. He felt bad about having possessed them, after all consent was always important. But in contests like these, your consent was essentially waved away otherwise others powers would be useless within these arenas. The same could be said for the world at large he guessed. Villains would never willingly allow someone to take control of their bodies, but even then Dorian used it as a last result. There were always better ways. Maybe that's why he had developed other mutations, to help him better assist without the need of taking away someone's autonomy. Still, for now, he needed to focus.

He watched the field as more of the Hex Girls went down, searching for a way to block or shield an ally with Wil's magics. But it seemed his team didn't need it, though he did notice something his team did need, or at least one person in particular. Dorian made his way over towards his boyfriend, stopping short with his hands placed on his hips as he looked him up and down. ”Percival Novikova, don't be a bully. We can banter and bought all you'd like, but please take notice of other people's feelings too.” He said in a stern soft voice as he nodded towards Ava, who Dorian had noticed was beginning to tear up. ”No bad sportsmanship.”

Franklin hadn't bothered changing out of his outfit that he'd worn at the opening ceremony. All he'd bothered doing was abandoning his bag at the side of his bed as he laid across his bed waiting for the others to finish getting ready. He waited a couple beats after they'd all left, staring up at the room's ceiling before finally deciding to get himself up and out. Making his way down the halls and towards the painting he'd visited some times before. Others were gathered, Alfonse was present, and – oh Connie was calling.

He'd turned to see her approaching towards him, stopping short nearby with Rohan and Frankie decided to join in. “I also have an excitable person in my room. He doesnt…seem to know much of anything, but he seems nice enough, and has tons of energy. Walked in on him jumping up and down on his bed so there's that.” He said with a shrug. “The other is…quiet to an extent. She's new as well, but seems to have a better grasp at magic than others so that's cool. Curious to see what all it is.”
