After reaching the door, barely avoiding the swipes and jabs and vicious claws of the fish men, Phoenix tried the door.

Locked. Of course.

"Hey! Open up! There's, th-there's a bunch of weird fish out here!" Phoenix's cries fell on deaf ears as whoever might've been in there did the smart thing and kept the door closed, keeping both the innocent bystander and the violent monsters outside. A solid hunk of wood appeared to Phoenix's side as a Pelagic spear embedded itself in the door. He yelled and stumbled sideways, slipping on the moss-covered deck and falling to his knees.

It hurt, sure, landing right on his wrists and knees, but Phoenix didn't have the time to worry about little things while he was in incredibly real danger of being skewered. He clambered across the wood, but not because he had any ideas of where to go. He only knew that there weren't any fish that way, making it a great way to go. Up until he hit his head against the railing with an audible -katunk-, that is.

"Ow."

With the fish continuing to chase him and the new throbbing headache, Phoenix looked this way and that, trying to find a good escape route. (Going around will just take me back to where they are, going into the water is bad because they're fish...)

"N-Nowhere to go but up!"

Channeling every ounce of his grade-school P.E. training, Phoenix got a foot on the railing and pushed off, a jump with just enough height to clear the edge of the suspended boat. Now, dangling much like a bright blue pinata, Phoenix swayed to-and-fro in an effort to shimmy himself up into the boat proper, scrambling right as another volley of spears flew beneath his feet.

(I....really...need to exercise more...) Phoenix groaned inwardly as he continued his climb, pulling himself onto the metal claw holding the boat, more sharp spear tips piercing the boat's bottom. It was probably the slowest escape in any universe, but hey, it was working!

And again, that ringing. That God forsaken ringing that thrummed throughout his body, rattled his organs, made him feel like a string doll being unraveled one sharp tug at a time. Barely a groan escaped him as his head sunk to the table, his body limp and trembling.

He wanted it to stop.

He wanted it to be over.

He wanted to hurt.

As the gathered crowd stood and applauded the gory display, 10 lifted an arm, slow and stiff and shaking like he was a hundred years older, and reached for his handler. But instead of striking - 10 couldn't lift a fork, let alone attack even the feeblest of people - the tortured boy grasped the hem of Friedrich's coat, and let his arm fall heavy. The telltale sign of a plea. For 10 to stoop so low as to beg, it was an obvious symbol of submission. Not one that would last, but one that would hold, at least for the moment.

#10 had been expecting boredom.

When his keeper had torn him from his work, saying they needed to leave for an "important Church meeting", 10 was not pleased. He was to abandon his passion to attend a stuffy gathering of old priests talk about their affairs? While he was still in the throes of his muse, no less! 10 had most of his mind set on ditching Friedrich somewhere along the way and taking to the Parisian rooftops. But his keeper was not one to be left lightly, and so there he sat, his brow furrowed as they waited for the ballroom to fill, twiddling his thumbs beneath his cape in a way that was aggressively pointed at Friedrich.

But then the curtains where drawn, and 10's aggravated fidgeting paused. Less of a meeting, more of a show? His lips curved upwards, scowl becoming a smirk, and he sat a bit higher in his seat to watch the proceedings.

"How are things in Italy, Seraph?" 10 said, his gaze turned to his so-called sister, casually ignoring the order from his keeper. "Is our wondrous Church treating you nicely there?"
I wouldn't really call that blonde. :P
I don't wanna take the credit for making it, hah. Plus I don't want it to be a thing if the majority doesn't want it! Only asked in case there was a plan to.
Oh, god, I just noticed there was a direct reference to Subject 7 in the OP. Whoops! Missed that the first read-through.

Is there going to be a Discord for the game, or no?
@TruthHurts22 Don't want to impose, but if you don't mind, then I'd appreciate the swap! haha, just for the sake of my stupid theme-obsession.

No problem!
I'm good to swap numbers if ya really want! I went 7 cuz, I just liked it. :p
Awesome! I'll send him over to the Char tab.
