Also, if you think the idea of someone running a bank in an MMO sounds ridiculous, you seriously need to get on EVE Online's level:

xD

Ehh, now that just sounds like work.

Also, jus to express my opinion here, I don't quite like the angle of us being a guild of douchebag, edgy badasses. The "information broker" idea is a good one, as no official guides or lore exist for YGGDRASIL, but the bank idea I think is just kind of ridiculous. I also rather dislike the name for the guildhall, it feels like something that wasn't proofread, and not in the funny way that you're aiming for.

Not trying to shit all over everything, just expressing my feelings regarding what you've proposed. I can help work on it later tonight.

Eh, was that how it came about? Sorry, that's not what I intended. The idea was less "edgy badasses" and more "ughhh, fuck those guys". See, the guild itself is run like a business, which means they display the average standards and practices expected of such (i.e. soulless, money-sucking corporate scumbags). Like you said, they specialize primarily in buying and selling information as well as bartering for items using gold. While looking out for you and your own isn't necessarily evil in the way a PK guild like Ainz Ooal Gown was, it does give you a reputation as scammers and soulless sellout fucks, especially after you've gone behind numerous other guild's backs and sold their competition information or rare items that turned the tide of battle for them against their rivals. That and while the idea of compiling guides for newbies and posting them online sounds like a righteous enterprise on paper, it also means the guild has a long history of scamming which it probably isn't too proud of.

The guild isn't a bunch of uber-feared, edgy PvPers who dominate the game with their leet skillz or whatever (like certain other shows), they're just opportunistic virtual entrepreneurs. You're thinking of assassin's guilds and mercenary groups like the Dark Brotherhood or "generic MMO anime badass guild #1547" when you should be thinking more like the mafia or the Thieve's Guild. The MMO equivalent of white collar criminals.

While it's true the fort is well-defended, I was lapsing into a bit of dramatic prose there just so I describe the place in a very stereotypical swords and sorcery kinda way (also, if you can figure out why I decided to call it that and what the name is a joking reference to, you get a cookie).
Should have a CS up someyime tonight. But I'll reiterate my question from earlier: can we have NPCs that have been created by our player characters? Perhaps a mini CS for these characters?

Yes but I expect a full CS for them, because reasons :P

lolol xD That's some totally not convincing me to go with the fetus maid idea there xD
But me is hev a question! When will more be know about hte layout of hte guild? cause I need to decide on where to put her residence.

hmm on another note, I do wonder if my npc will be aware of her creator's death. I mean the npcs in overlord seemed to have been aware of pretty much everything that was going on in the guild.

That'll hopefully be revealed today once I finish the first batch of GMPCs and move on to writing about the guild hall. Right now though, I can give you the short version:

Carved into the side of a volcano that juts out of the bay like a great blaspheme to the gods, the dread fort Deadship (they were going to call it "Dreadship" and drop the "dread" part from the subtitle, but someone fucked up entering the "r") sits on top of what is both an active, oozing volcano and the largest concentration of precious metals and minerals in Nidavellir, home of the dwarves. This iconoclast in the middle of the sea is home to none other than [INSERT GUILD NAME HERE], coldhearted and soulless monsters wearing the guise of men who care for nothing but profit. Monopolizing one of the server's largest deposits of natural resources and using it to establish some sort of bedeviled bank, they use it as their base of operations to barter for items and information, selling what they earn and what they know to the highest bidders. But do not be fooled by their facade of salarymen and bankers. The fort is armed beyond your wildest dreams, with a sentinel for every penny in their pocket and more traps and curses than a mummy's tomb. So beware... beware [INSERT GUILD NAME HERE] of the dread fort Deadship!

And there you have it :P
@Turboshitter okey dokey... angel it will be not! lol I'm starting to talk like yoda here. As for not adding picture.. that's a little bit of a tricky thing. I'm currently running on incredibly slow internet in the workdays. Like so slow it takes minutes to load a picture -__-'Tomorrow I'm going home and will add picture when I get home :3 as for the angel part hmmmm... I suppose I can answer with she is keepign her clearly not very human looking appearance under wraps with magic or something like most NPCs are in Overlord, but I suppose I can change it to a human. It's just that I kind of cringe every time I see how they made the angels in overlord xD It's so bugging me that I mentally delete that memory xD

Heh. Yeah it's a weird contrast to demons, though I fully support the idea of a floating fetus using jedi mind tricks to look like a maid or something like that xD

*Turbo is totally not trying to create his own Pleiades, no sir*

Also, anyone have ideas for the name of the guild? I did provide a brief description of who they are and what they do, but I understand if anyone wants to wait for further info. Once we have enough names, I'll put them up for a poll!
And he is the rough CS!!! I managed to somehow pull it off! Needs more edits and refining though :3 Still that's the main idea. @Turboshitter What do you think?

will finish/add descriptions/come up with even more spells, when I get off work!

PS: CS is in first post on first page

Okay, so I will finish looking at your CSes after lunch (and hopefully finish mine as well so everyone can have some examples >.<), but one thing stands out to me about Silva, that being that you haven't included a character picture. That just makes me want to make sure you're taking into account what angels look like in YGGDRASIL, which is... this.

Or this:

Also the idea of a Doppelganger taking the form of an elf to avoid persecution by the heteromorphic haters is pretty clever. Will finish looking at the rest of the sheet later.

Fyi creating a lizard man tanky anti-mage monk. In case anybody had that idea...*Looks around suspiciously*

Yes.
Some of the stats confuse me. What are RESIST and SPECIAL? Which aspects of a character do they affect?

RESIST is for things like debuffs, DoT and harmful status effects, whereas I'm pretty sure SPECIAL just denotes some special ability you have like Aura's breath skill.
@Turboshitter did you answer what the limit was for stats? If not whats the limit?

You should use the character sheets as a reference. Typically though the stats for a level 100 character should equal a combined total somewhere between 600-700
@Turboshitter this CS is indeed quite... hard to fill out xD but that's a good thing!
now a few questions before I can return to filling it up.
1: if we put in an original class, should we put in description about it?
2: should we put descriptions about the items:
3: again should we ptu descriptions about the effects of the spells?

Those are the questions I thought up for now :3 expect more to come at later time :P
Also will illusion spells of the highest degree be able to cause real physical effects like, let's say you suffer a wound in the illusion, and the body reacts like it really got struck and so on :3 Also from what level should illusion magic start having that effect if so, 7-8+?

The question's probably been asked half a dozen times, but are there many NPC spots left? 'Cause I'm pretty keen on being an NPC, if there's room for someone to be my based master.

To all of those questions, basically. Include as much information as you feel is necessary, but try to keep it brief (i.e. if the spell's name says a lot about its function like "Fireball" or "All Appraisal Magic Item", then you probably don't need to write a description).
Another question, in the YGGDRASIL game they do have a respawn system right? Because I'm sure a MMO without one will only have the most hardcore of players. Not talking about the new world, just the game previous shutdowm.

Yes, although you lose levels unless someone revives you or you pay a certain amount of gold to revive yourself. What that means in the New World is as long as you've got the money and someone to use it for you, you can be revived as often as need be (or at least until all the gold in the treasury runs dry).
