@Blaze Gamma Have you seen the message I left you yet?
Master Sheet! I did a brainy girl.

Okay, so I’m going to be honest, I have a couple of issues with this one.

  • Five Mystic Codes is a lot for any magus, let alone a Yggdmillennia clan member. Regardless of the actual power of half the Codes, it’s still quite a sum that’d take a lot of money and skill to make. Most mages we see in canon don’t have that many, or at least we don’t see them use them. To me that implies that either most mages don’t have this many Mystic Codes, or Grail War-worthy Mystic Codes represent a fairly substantial investment not all families are capable of putting together.
  • Nuari’s Void Space magecraft feels a little over the top. Now in all fairness, El-Melloi II Case Files did establish that “normal mages” (a.k.a. people like Trisha Fellows who are still Clocktower elite but don’t have any super-special OP bullshit magecraft) are capable of making small pocket dimensions or other feats of spacial manipulation, but I feel like being able to do so on this scale is a bit beyond the level of skill/experience most Yggdmillennia mages would possess. Space-erasing projectiles, person-sized pocket dimensions, and a Mystic Code that can temporarily swap/overwrite chunks of reality with whatever terrain or objects the user desires is not only a power that’s a bit too rife for abuse (for a Master at least). To me, that feels like a Noble Phantasm or the kind of Bounded Field it’d take a lot of time and resources to make, rather than something that can be deployed on the fly.
  • The background presented here seems a bit implausible. Mostly in the way this family managed to not only escape Atlas but remain unnoticed and undetected for years. People like that seem like they’d be capable, resourceful, and reclusive enough that joining an organization like Yggdmillennia would be unnecessary. The other thing about it is... it just doesn’t really fit the aesthetics of this group. Underdogs, outcasts, misfits pining for revenge or their time to shine. That’s what Yggdmillennia is. Mages who were rejected, abandoned, or made outcasts by the Association and mage society writ large. The Maaikes, to me at least, come across more like they’re playing both Atlas and the Association for fools.

@Turboshitter The boring kind, as in, like Tokiomi's relationship with Gilgamesh levels of boring.

Also, I've also been thinking about a hazard to add besides a time limit one and I'm torn between the limitation being the degradation of her Magic Circuits (which fits into the Mather's family magecraft being a hazardous thrown together thing created after Gregor and Crowley fucked up everything) or degradation of her mental faculties (the allowing a spiritual being noted to be beyond human understanding to enter one's body shouldn't be healthy to one's mind) the more time she spends channeling an Archangel.

In your opinion which is better?

I like the degradation of her Circuits because it implies that hosting these things is literally burning her out slowly from the inside.

@SSW I'll stick with her yes, while I like the chimera crafter a little more personally his personality doesn't mesh well with any of the current Servants except perhaps Cadmus bust even that is a big stretch so I feel Aletheia is a much better alternative.

@Turboshitter I've edited my sheet to make Aletheia more utility heavy through the use of her familiars and angelic invocations rather than combat focused. Do you think there are any other areas I could change things up on?

What sort of personality issues do you foresee? Some conflict between Masters and Servants can be fun, after all.

Also, does doing this hurt her body at all? Like does it have a time limit? I don’t know what the exact rules would be for lesser spiritual beings but a human allowing themselves to be possessed by a Servant will explode in like half a second under normal circumstances. Perhaps an interesting limitation on her combat abilities could be that they are effective but short-lived?
@Heavy Snark If it makes the decision any easier, a menagerie of chimeras to ride into battle or use as familiars for scouting could do well in making up for the absence of Roche and Avicebron’s golems.
Show of hands, who here would like a Discord and who doesn’t care? I’m more than up for making one if you think it’ll help facilitate long term interest and investment in the RP but I will say that odds are I won’t be participating in many voice calls. I tend to either be at work or tied up with other social obligations most of the week, so calls are a little out of the question for me unless it’s something important (I would be more than happy to chat via text though)
If anyone would like to be Cadmus's Master, I can only ask that you talk about his sister enough times for him to be influences to make a mecha. That is all.

That said, I would also make a Master, but all my previous ideas are too Eastern and seeing as we have so many interests, I don't want to be greedy and take up two slots since I don't have much ideas anyway.

If nobody else offers to make a Master, there is Darnic. However I’ve decided that his knowledge of the Grail’s guts is important enough that he doesn’t need to participate directly in combat if there’s a universal demand for all seven Master slots to be given to players. Probably not an IC decision for Darnic in canon, but it makes things more fun.
@Turboshitter About going less "fighty fight" I'll attempt to do something about it, though if I start having problems on that end I might just switch to another character I've got made already, a Chimera maker ala Shou Tucker. Also about asking for permission I didn't notice someone already had made the Caster due to her/him/them(?) not being in the character tab when I started making this sheet. Well better late than never.

@SSW Would you be alright with Aletheia being Tiresias Master? If not then I'll ask someone else.

If you can’t make Aletheia less fighty-fighty, then a chimera master sounds excellent as well! They both sound like great characters, I’m just looking to enforce a certain theme/aesthetic of Yggdmillennia being the “quantity” to the Mage’s Association’s “quality”.

Your characters can be badasses but ultimately you’re still the scrappy underdogs in this scenario, so it’s to your benefit not to funnel too many resources into direct combat when you have Servants to cover that angle anyway. As the 0th post hinted, I’m going to be fleshing out the Red Faction Masters that never got to show up in Apocrypha and they are monsters.
Okay, got a lot to get to today but I’ll start with what I can before I go to work.

@Cu Chulainn Cadmus is accepted. Darnic welcomes this punished king to Yggdmillennia’s ranks as commander.

@Duoya I might have a few things to ask you about in PMs, but for all intents and purposes, Sláine is accepted. I really enjoyed reading his bio and it’s clear a lot of thought went into it. I’m already positive he’ll be a better homunculus Master than Sieg ever was lol

@Heavy Snark I’ll get to Ms. Matters later (though just to be clear, you did ask SSW about partnering up first, right?). I’ll need to do some minor research on Hermeticism, but right now the only thing that sticks out to me is that we now have two Masters who rely on offense-oriented elemental magic. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing on the surface, however I feel like some variety wouldn’t be amiss either. Another thing to consider is that Yggdmillennia makes up for a lack of quality with quantity. Even the clan scions chosen to participate in the Grail War aren’t universally strong enough to be well-suited to combat (like Caules), often contributing in other ways (like Roche with his golems and, presumably, Celenike with her curses).

This isn’t to say I find the idea of Hermetic magecraft based around bodily possession intriguing, just that we could maybe workshop it a bit.
@Duoya *whistles*

That is quite the character sheet! I’ll have to go over it during my lunch break today! Great job adding so much detail!
