It is still the day after. Connor is in his lab with Flood. They have Lady Lobo restrained there for study since she attempted to attain several fallen heroes' DNA samples.

All the students are still at Kat's.

I am working on a post myself to drop a little detail on what happened.

How does one tell a child that their father was gone? Fate couldn't actually be sure that that was actually the case though. Holding the girl tightly she knelt down to be at her eye level. Wiping away the tears she looked at her calmly. "I'm sure your mommy wants to see daddy too. It's not that she won't let you see him, she just doesn't know how."

Holding her for a moment longer Fate finally let go. "We saw your mommy before coming here. She is very worried about you and wants you to come home. She's only trying to protect you." Yeah, this was a little outside her depth but said what made sense to her. Drawing a blank after that she waited for a response.

Having been in a sword state for a while now Fate had the opportunity to simply observe. Something was off about the whole situation. A couple of times the man they were fighting wavered and when he did she got a small taste of the magic he had, or as it appeared, didn't have. Suddenly it all made sense why the woman was so adement about them going tonight. Returning to her human state she held a hand up as a signal for the others to stop. "Everyone, stop attacking! She's not in any danger."

This was taking a risk but she removed her sword from its sheath and placed it in the ground. Having chosen to be the spirit of a blade all her real power dwelt there. Unarmed she began to walk closer to the girl, ignoring the man altogether. Smiling softly she held her arms out. "Little girl, no one is here to hurt you. I understand now that you are hurting. You miss your father don't you?" If Fate was right then she needed to try and take the child's mind off of the sadder thoughts. Moving closer she was still reaching out. "But you can't keep hiding. You're mother misses you very much. She needs you to come home so you can be a family again." Now she could almost reach the girl. Gently she tried to pull her into a hug, hoping the rock would let go enough to do so.
