As far as I know they're still optional not required.

Indeed. They were always meant to be optional, they were just embraced quickly by most players - I believe because of us starting later in the term, rather than at the beginning. It's useful to establish relationships that began 'pre-IC' in a relationship sheet such as the one Wraith provided.
I completely re-did Freddie's relationship sheet, and added the new characters, too.

FREDERICK'S RELATIONSHIP SHEET

// Friend // Acquaintance // Frenemy // Rival // Enemy // Crush //

  • RICK ALLEN:
Rick seems fairly decent, in the small glimpses I've had of him. He's always darting around campus so quickly, it seems he's hardly stood still long enough for us to properly get to know each other. He's likely the sporty type, though, given his abilities, and I doubt we'd find much common ground should I ever catch him in a moment of stillness. Regardless, he doesn't seem to have a problem with me and I'm sure we can continue to co-exist peacefully.
  • RICHARD DOWIE:
Richard is quite interesting, actually. His abilities are more magical than genetic, which I find rather fascinating. I'd love to sit down with him for an hour and just pick his brain; after all, he has knowledge of arcane things a mere mortal as I could only dream of. He's like a mysterious character from some fantastical play; almost Shakespearean in some aspects. If he can afford me the time, I'd love to get to know him better.
  • MARIAND'R GRAYSON:
Mari is rather brilliant, to say the least. She was quite crass when we first met, but we soon found common ground and got on like a house on fire. She's my closest friend here at Corrigan; I feel that might be because she hates it as much as I do. She's terribly funny in the most wicked way; we share a darker sense of humour. She's half-alien, but she doesn't talk about her heritage much. Her dad is a professor here, so I think my friendship with her puts me in a good position academically - not that it matters. We're both vegetarian, so it's good to have someone I can cook for without feeling like I'm depriving them of their beloved meat. She's pretty touchy when it comes to the sexualisation of her body; I soon learned not to make some of the comments I'd make to friends back home, but ultimately she's been really cool to me. She can take a joke and I love hanging out with her.
  • JASON KAMA:
This guy kind of rubs me the wrong way, but I can see he has good intentions. He's not troublesome like some of the students here, he's just... Well, he's rather annoying, actually. He has this whole 'save the world' thing going on, but honestly it just strikes me as contrived. It feels like he's more interested in being perceived as some environmental hero rather than actually working to protect Mother Nature. But perhaps I'm being sceptical... It wouldn't be the first time, after all. I don't dislike him enough to avoid him, and Mari and Tanya seem to be pretty fond of him. Perhaps I'd find it easier to warm to him if he didn't wear such ghastly tourist fashions...
  • KIERAN KENT:
Kieran is my room-mate, though you probably wouldn't be able to tell if you saw us together. It seems like we don't share many interests at all, really... It's not that I dislike him per se, I'm actually rather grateful to have him as a roommate. He's very clean and tidy and tends to keep the noise down, so living with him is relatively easy. I can't bear to think what it would have been like to have some slob sharing my bedroom. The two of us are amicable, though we don't tend to see much of each other outside of our dorm.
  • JACK KYLE:
Ugh! This guy just grinds my gears. In some of our earlier classes, I thought perhaps there was a chance the two of us would become friends. We seem to share a certain... 'Free-spirited' nature when it comes to authority figures, and he seemed friendly enough. Kind of cute, too. But, oh gosh... He's so annoying! He has this smug attitude that's just nauseating; he's got this smirk as though he's constantly pissing in a jacuzzi and getting away with it. And yet, he expects everyone to be his biggest fan! The bloody nerve of it, I tell you... As if that wasn't enough, it turns out the guys a raging kleptomaniac. Mari is sure the creep has been stealing her makeup, and personally I wouldn't put it past him.
  • TANYA LAMONT:
Tanya is Mari's roomie, and at first we had a shaky start. I quite liked her, but there seemed to be something stopping us from really bonding. She was quite cold towards me for a short while, though not in a rude way... I think she was just 'weighing up up', so to speak; taking some time to decide what she made of me. It seems I eventually made a good impression, and now we get along swimmingly... Or, soaringly, I suppose would be more appropriate. It turns out we have somethings in common: we can both control the wind, and we both love music. She keeps trying to get me to join her band, but I haven't made my mind up yet. Regardless, though we're not quite as close as I am with Mari, Tanya has become a good friend. I like having her around.
  • KYLE LANCASTER:
Kyle... That's one of the younger kids, right? Yeah, I don't really know him. I'm here to learn, after all, not to babysit. I see him around the hallways sometimes, but he always seems to be only half-present; the shy type, easy to push around. He'll have to grow a spine if he wants to last around here, that much is certain.
  • JULIAN LUTHOR:
Oh, lord. Julian is utterly unbearable. Coming from an esteemed family myself, I've been around a good amount of arrogant arseholes in my time. It's something you learn to adjust to... But dear God, Julian is something else. He's completely self-worshipping, and it seems that he commands a similar respect from his peers. Whether he's bragging about his wealth or his supposedly-genius intellect, it always seems like he's trying to assert himself as my superior. He openly mocks my abilities as though it's some kind of competition; I'm not here to learn how to use my powers to earth-shattering effect. I'm not trying to be the next big hero - or villain, in his father's case. I'm here to control what I've been born with, not to earn some sense of self-worth by recruiting a gaggle of mindless sycophants. Needless to say, I do not like Julian one bit.
  • FENRIS MURRAY:
I, uh... Yeah... Um, I rather quite like Fen, actually... I mean, uh... It's not like, we've, um, exactly... Spoken, per se... OK, look, I know that's pathetic. But there's just something about the guy that... It's eerie, actually... There's some sort of enticing aura about him, as though he's wearing some sweet enchanted cologne that lures me in at the faintest whiff. Like the scents released by carnivorous plants as they tempt bugs to their doom... I know that I should be weary of him, and when he's not around I'm quite able... But as soon as I lay eyes upon him, I... Oh, Fen...
  • VALTINA NOELANI:
    I don't know her.
  • S'TANN S'TONN:
S'tann is the bane of this wretched school; but, unlike some of my other disdains, this opinion of mine seems to be shared near-universally. At our age, we should really have grown out of bullying and finding glee in disruption... But no, not S'tann. This alien creep goes out of his way to ruin whatever he can. He's a bad omen amongst the campus walls; some students call him Satan, but I wouldn't even dream of giving him such a prestigious title. He's scum, nothing more... I think the main issue with S'tann is that he's very powerful, and he knows it. Nobody seems to be able to control him, and I'm not naïve enough to think that I might stand a chance. I'll just do my best to avoid him and hope that one day he gets bored and takes his terrorism elsewhere.

How does Poison Ivy reproduce? Is it asexually or did she just like find a willing/non-willing donor.

EDIT: For the daughter of Jinx, will Kid Flash be the father? (Please make Wally the father.)

Stop encouraging him. Stop it right now.
As it stands I'm stuck between a daughter of Jinx, a daughter of Poison Ivy, a power augmenter/metahuman locator, or a glass manipulator.

You can't be a daughter of Jinx or Poison Ivy because those are fucking brilliant ideas and I'll get bitter with envy and grow to resent you.

EDIT FOR CLARIFICATION: Not a joke.
Oh my gawwww

For a thread that's only been open for three days, there sure is a lot of chatter lordt jesus.

Most of it largely uninteresting. Join us, hunty. Give me purpose.
Freddie Blackwell

Freddie was rather relieved to learn that Mari had theatre studies with Miss Brown. The teacher wasn't particularly special, as far as he was concerned; Freddie didn't quite understand how an American teaching Shakespeare could possibly be a good idea, but she at least seemed competent. And of course, the arts were his forte, and studying alongside Mari only sweetened the deal. If his memory served him well, they would be allocated their roles for Macbeth today, following last weeks auditions. Freddie had auditioned for the part of Macbeth himself, of course. He was always the lead, after all, and he expected it to be no different at Corrigan.

"Seriously, I can’t wait to be done with this place, every day is the same routine." Mari spoke up, and Freddie nodded in silent agreement. The girl already knew that he shared her stance on this forsaken academy, but even had Freddie wished to discuss it he did not get the chance. "Speak of the Devil..." Mari cursed, causing Freddie to look in the direction of her frustrated gaze.

Fen was heading right for them, smiling somewhat oddly. In fact, as he drew closer, Freddie's anxieties waned a little... Something seemed off about him, of that much Freddie was certain... Though he couldn't place what. In all the times he'd met Fen, he'd felt this strange, near-sinister pull, enticing him to draw closer like a moth to a flame. But now..? ...Nothing.

“You two wouldn't happen to be going to that party later, right?" Fen asked. As he spoke, Freddie only grew more intrigued... Why was Fen acting so... Different? "Because I'd love to see you there." he finished, winking at Freddie. Even without that strange aura of his, Freddie couldn't help but swoon silently at the gesture; the world smudged and melded briefly, and whilst it seemed that Mari was delivering a particularly sassy response, Freddie registered not a word of it. He barely noticed the arrival of Jack, though that much was not entirely unusual. The son of Catwoman was notoriously stealthy.

It seemed that Jack suspected 'Fen' of being an impostor; more specifically, he pinned the blame upon that troublesome Martian, S'tann S'tonn. Freddie's eyes narrowed in anger for a brief moment, ready to unload his various frustrations upon S'tann in the form of a venomous barrage.

"Why, you wretched bast--" he began, before being cut short as a pair of hands slid around impostor-Fen's body. Soon enough, the head of real-Fen poked over the doppelganger's shoulder; Freddie was certain of the authenticity this time around. The real Fen just oozed a certain magnetism that was... Well, it was completely unmistakable. Freddie gawped mindlessly, his mouth open ever-so-slightly as Fen shamelessly caressed himself, purring sultrily all the while. It was almost too much for the British teen to handle, his cheeks flushed with rosy pink.

"C'mon, Freddie," Mari insisted, though the boy was powerless. He was utterly transfixed upon the display the two Fens were putting on, that he hardly noticed her get up and leave the table. A short moment later, Fen kissed himself on the cheek and released his grip on the doppelganger, and Freddie began to regain composure. Wanting above anything to avoid conversation with Fen, especially following the heated scene, Freddie made his escape.

"M-Mari," he muttered, the girl already way out of earshot. "Uh, wait up!" he said, hastily rushing to his feet and hurrying out of the mess hall. Though, unbeknownst to Freddie, he had left more than a half-eaten apple at the table: his black leather satchel remained tucked beside his seat, forgotten in all of Freddie's flustered disposition.

When he got outside, Mari was nowhere to be scene. Freddie had learned that she had a tendency to move quickly, given her ability to float above the ground, so he was not entirely surprised. He was grateful in some ways for the cool chill of the Autumn air, but the persistent drizzle was simply ghastly. It was a fair walk to the liberal arts wing, and Freddie did not intend on being crowned as the production's lead role looking like a drowned rat.

Collecting his thoughts, Freddie focussed as much concentration as he could muster as he looked to the skies. It was a welcome distraction, for as he watched the dull grey clouds begin to part and dissipate, so too did the tempest within his own mind; allowing him to push aside those thoughts of lust and homesickness that had bothered him all morning. As the rain finally stopped, Freddie made his way across the lawns, the sodden grass squelching unpleasantly underfoot.

Upon arriving in Miss Brown's classroom, Freddie instinctively pulled up a seat beside Mari. He grinned sheepishly, trying his best to avoid the judgemental side-eye of disapproval that the half-alien was giving him.

"What?" he laughed. "What's a lad to do?" he asked, batting his eyes at her playfully. "I am a man of simple needs." he joked. Then, he grinned mischievously, recalling the events of last night. "Speaking of which! You vanished rather swiftly last night, madame." he jibed, his voice full of implicit ideas. "And a little birdy tells me she had the place to herself!"

Seeing Mari's reaction and knowing they had a short time before class began, he assumed the stance of a seasoned gossip: one leg crossed over the other and his chin resting upon his palm as he looked at her expectantly. "Come now, you saucy minx," he insisted. "Spill!"

I'll write up a personality and hope that helps some for anyone who may be interested.

Val is not that hard of a person to understand...

It could go either way with Freddie, though I'm inclined to say that they'd be friends. She judges based on actions rather than beliefs, and as disdainful as Freddie can be, he tends to internalise his feelings and avoid conflict. When he does confront someone he dislikes, it's usually through sarcastic comments and the like, which is another thing the pair have in common.

On the other hand, they might be so similar that they don't get along. It depends on the approach you'd prefer to take; I am happy with either, so let me know.
Why is every single relationship with Jack some variation on HE IS THE THIEF AND HE HITS ON EVERYONE?

Just because he can doesn't mean that he does. He is more than a thief or a flirt.

This is the information people are getting from your sheet. Wraith kept the fields pretty minimal, so the information everyone has is limited. Freddie is painted as arrogant across the board, which I like to think isn't the case. Tanya is the 'bird who likes music', S'tann is the douche, Fen is the attractive guy with something odd about him.

The relationships sheets have been a great idea, because they've allowed us all to see how our characters might be pigeon-holed. If you're a good enough roleplayer, you should be able to develop your character and change those perceptions IC. Nobody is personally attacking you or Jack in the sheets; we're all in the same boat.

Think you might want to think twice about that one.

On second thoughts, I'm busy right now. Maybe next Tuesday?
