Just as Delilah was finishing settling into what would be her fishbowl *cough*
room for the week, her slight annoyance at the fact that almost half of her stuff had to stay in her luggage faded away when she heard Adelisa make her grand entrance with the words
'Honey, I'm home!'. Lila gave a small laugh, but took a few extra minutes to let the hair out of her ponytail, change into a
striped black and white sleeveless bikini, a white lace cover-up and gold flip-flops, spritz on some of her signature fruity perfume, and to pack her wallet, room key, tanning oil, iPhone 6 Plus, earphones and sunglasses into her
Victoria's Secret tote bag. The first thing she would do on this trip was grab a frozen drink, get her tanning on and enjoy the sunset; but first things first. When she was finished, Lila went to say hi to her friends.
"Hello there, ladies!" Delilah greeted them cheerfully with a bright smile, giving each of her best friends a big hug.
"Sorry it took me a little while to come out say hi. I was trying to unsuccessfully fit my stuff into my 'room'-" she said that last word while doing air quotes and rolling her eyes.
"Apparently my share of payment for this suite included the real-life experience of staying in the cupboard under the stairs Harry Potter lived in for so long!" Lila told them with a laugh before giving Adelisa and Yuki a devilish smile.
"Plus, if things go the way I want them to, the only thing in that room I'll really be needing is the king-sized bed." She wiggled her eyebrows suggestively at them.
Lila noticed the bottle of whiskey in Dela's hand, and a wave of unwanted memories flooded into her mind: voices arguing, a man stumbling and breaking everything he came across, the stench of alcohol filling a room similar in size as the one she was staying in, headlights flashing, a high-pitched scream...
No... Lila begged herself to stop right there. The dark part of her life where she dated Hunter was in the past, exactly where it belonged. No use in wasting time thinking about that.
In an effort to clear her mind, she said to the girls,
"How about we go out to the balcony to catch up?" When they replied, Lila took a seat in one of the balcony chairs, rummaged in her bag for her sunglasses and put them on.
She was enjoying the graceful view of the ocean, savoring the peace this getaway would offer her when a guy's voice shouting 'WOOOOOO! We're on a fucking boat!' killed her vibe.
"No shit, Sherlock!" Lila shouted back, hopefully loud enough for him to hear.
"You won't be in it much longer if you don't shut up!"
