Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

roleplayerguild.com/posts/5… If anyone's up for fighting some kaiju, why not try out my new RP, Godzilla: YATAGARUSU?

Depends on the OC. Post a bio and we'll see.
@byteoflogic: I think she's good now!
I'd like to know more about the basic traits of the pistols, though looking better!
So um, quick note to everyone!

This RP has gotten pretty big very fast and I'm concerned about keeping up on bios and plot by myself, so I've now appointed @Raineh Daze as my co-GM!
Akane went rigid when she heard some commotion from the rooftop. Was there a fight or something!? Was the magical girl fighting something!? If it was a Negari that was really dangerous but... but...! Only... moments later, the commotion ceased. There was nothing after that, so all that the redhead could assume was that the magical girl had left. After a few moments, she sagged. She had such a good chance to meet one, but she'd blown it, hadn't she?

... Only... wait a second, was that fancy girl calling up to the rooftop?! She'd seen the magical girl too, right?! She had! That was the only explanation for what she was doing, right? At least if that was the case she could confirm what she'd seen, and make sure that she hadn't made some kind of silly mistake in her general magical girl fangirl excitement. Taking a deep breath, Akane approached the other girl.

"Um... you saw her too, right?" she asked, stopping about a meter away from her. "The magical girl? I... w... wasn't that amazing?"

The moment she spoke, she felt like something of an idiot. Who even talked like that?!

@Raineh Daze

A pair of magical girls had suddenly appeared on top of her. Mitsuko raised an eyebrow, panting. They looked so concerned, too... she straightened with a sigh, resting her spear on a shoulder.

"Oi oi, it's not like I don't appreciate the concern, but I'm not going to be taken out of commission that easily," she complained. While she was clearly exhausted, there was no visible injuries on her body... though her outfit was a mess, gashes in her clothing and tattered edges. That being said, one of the major traits of the Shadowrender was her recovery capabilities. Anyone who knew much about magical girls knew that she seemed to have an excellent ability to bounce back from injuries.

"Your time's better spent out on patrol then wasted on worrying about me, I can handle myself."

I think I can get a post up today, though at the moment I slept in way too late so I'm having trouble figuring out who I can reply to where. ^^;
@byteoflogic: Relying on mundane firearms is a bad idea given how hard it is to get guns in Japan. ^^;
I do have an upgrade path in mind for Akane.

As for character concepts and stuff, Akane is basically "I really want to make a dragon knight magical girl". Though she is far from the first magical girl I made for this setting.

... Also ,as for Negari, they're a worldwide problem and magical girls are also worldwide.

But the majority are in Japan, for reasons.
As Akane walked, things seemed... decidedly average. Any hopes of running into a magical girl spontaneously on her way home were largely quashed by a lethargic and uneventful stroll. Well, the shop wasn't exactly far at least... and a relaxing walk wasn't exactly bad, but it was just, well... Why couldn't she run into any magical girls?! At least it wasn't too crowded. Akane didn't like crowds. There were too many people who could bump into you or something, and that made the redheaded girl both flustered and annoyed. They were way too close, and they couldn't watch where they were going! It's not like she hated people like that but couldn't they be at least a bit more careful!?

As Akane made her perfectly average walk down that perfectly average street, she happened to catch sight of something that, decidedly, was precisely the opposite of average.

A girl. A girl was jumping from one building to another. The schoolgirl's heartbeat quickened, her eyes widening with realization at what she must have just saw. There was only one explanation for that, wasn't there? There was only one reason she could think of something like that happening!

She must have just seen a magical girl! Excitement swelled up through Akane's chest as she jittered slightly where she stood. It was just a quick glimpse, but that had to be it. It had to! What else could it possibly be in this circumstance, right?

As a result, the next view moments included Akane acting without particularly putting any thought into her actions. She raised one hand, pointing excitedly at the diner rooftop.

"Aaah?! Aaah! That was...!" she was having trouble articulating herself, but who wouldn't after catching a glimpse of a magical girl?!

@Feyblue

For any other magical girls out on patrol, they might have come across an unusual sight.

It wasn't as if the spear-wielding Shadowrender Mitsuko was unusual in and of herself. The magical girl was barely ever found doing anything but patrolling. But seeing her look exhausted and leaned up against the wall in an alleyway? That was a bit strange, to say the least.

"Haah... damn it," she complained to herself, eyes downcast as she rested her spear on her shoulder. "They just won't leave me alone today, huh...?"
So in getting ready to make my next post I now realize I really need to draw Mitsuko again. That picture of her is not very good. ^^;
