Speaking of oil, I plan to have most of my vehicles being diesel-electric hybrids with the main fuel source being biodiesel.
All of these developments are practically available prior to 1940.
It won't be as good as modern hybrid engines of course but I can get a decent one working where on low or cruising speed it uses electric engines while the diesel is active on higher speeds. When peak performance is needed then both engines are turned on. As such I'll save a lot on oil albeit I'd still require a ton for other purposes or when biodiesel is less of an option.

I personally believe that you shouldn't go bio-desial, it kind of makes me the only one who uses oil since everyone else is electric or going electric. I think that oil dependency would add more to the RP but if you have your heart set on bio-desial go for it.

The Ventian faith is strong and I would most likely not permit missionaries in my border and you would probably not try to send them to reduce tension. our societies would cost likely be in the dark about one another though and only those who are super well travelled would really know about each other's cultures.

Vis heard the call for food, and staggered to his feet, Khat got up to try and help him but he gestured for her to stay down. He shambled over, exhausted from his on and off sleep and slightly tripping on rocks and roots as he staggered over to the small group. He thrust the bread into the man's hand and staggered off, even more exhausted then before, he returned to Khat and collapsed by her side.

Remember how we talked about a history of piracy? Well I added this to my nation sheet:

Yamatai Pirates

Though the Sultanate has always respected fellow empires and monarchs with a legitimate right to rule, relations with Yamatai have traditionally been poor. The source of the contempt began centuries ago. Not long after the Tin and Yamatai had established contact, tales of rich, foreign lands reached the ears of men with an abundance of greed and a lack of scruples. Pirates from both Yamatai and Tin began to raid coastal villages and ships of the other realm, with the two nations' regimes at times not caring (or even endorsing such actions) and at other times not having the resources to fully stop it. This piracy has continued on and off for centuries, and is one of the largest factors that led to Tin following Ventium's example and modernizing its navy to deal with the problem of piracy.

Yamatai pirates were the driving force behind Tin's research into submarines, and are one of the reasons that the traditional Tinite ways of fighting on land made way for Tin creating an impressive navy. Indeed, during this era of piracy many corsairs from both sides made their hideouts and bases on the Zanjar Islands, and that is how the archipelago was first discovered. Now, both Tin and Yamatai are in conflict as both seek to take the Zanjar Islands, for their abundance of resources and strategic importance as naval bases.

Uh, I don't really understand what you're saying about "fossil fuels adroit only mineralogical resource". But anyways, I'll go with the submarines then. And how fast Tin industrializes is probably out of my control; it'd depend on how much Ventium invests in aid and on if any foreign businesses would like to outsource factories into Tin and exploit the abundance of resources and cheap labor to mass produce things for cheap.

And speaking of Ventium and foreign aid, I'm working on the history section right now and writing about Tin's relations with other countries. I know we came to a rough idea as to what type of relationship our nations would have, but what about the specifics? Are we close allies, or would Ventium remain neutral and not support Tin in its conflicts with the other powers on our continent?

And as in for history, it'd make sense that way back in the equivalent of the medieval times when Tin was full of steppe hordes, the Tinites probably were the bane of the Ventium's existence. But seeing as it's been centuries since they went around marauding the countryside and Ventium is helping Tin modernize, I'd think that our recent history would have been more friendly. Perhaps Tin has been willing to overlook any differences between them and you now that all these Communists and Republics are popping up and you're the last monarchy besides them on the continent?

I'd like to think that our relationship is Cordial, we are friendly but I wouldn't say allies as it is an unspoken truth that they are just together for mutual benefit and would otherwise be at each other's throats but if it came to war, I'd probably side with the Tinites as a show of good faith and to keep the oil rolling.
