Matt heard about Nikki on the walkie and he hurried into the cafeteria. "Nikki!" He said as he walked into the cafeteria. Jenna saw it, the irises in Nikki's eye darkened when she recognized the voice. She listened to his footsteps and before Jenna could say anything about it Nikki turned and laid a right cross on her brother that knocked him on the ground. Matt shook his head and rubbed his jaw as he got up slowly off of the ground.

"Okay, I deserved that. I'm just glad you are back."

"The kids are missing thanks to you. I hope you are proud of yourself."

She turned to Jenna "I need water and a sandwich I need something in my stomach." Jenna disappeared into the back and came back with what she asked for.

"Nikki your sword is in your room." Matt said while making sure to stay clear of her. "I'm sorry! They can come back, all of them."

Nikki took the iron pole and ran her brother up against the wall with it up by his neck. "You are damned right they can come back! Don't think that you have any say in that....because You Don't." She said gravely. "Those kids are lost out there. They ran off in the dark. Raven found one of Erin's shirts with fresh blood on it. They were trying to come back here. If they are dead..." Nikki let go of him and walked out of the cafeteria. She grabbed her walkie and her sword from her room.

"Okay guys, If you see Haru or Erin/Clara bring them in to the school. They are lost out there and I need to go find them. I'm going out but I'll keep contact as long as I can by walkie." She heard a chorus of "good lucks" and good cheers. She smiled and then she walked out the door.

Nikki ate her sandwich and drank her water and then she took off running towards where the trailer park was. Chances were that the kids made a right when they should have gone left which meant they were getting further and further away.

Ari did not trust this man but she felt like she had already screwed up. Now it was too late to shoot him. If she did there was a good chance he would overtake her before she could do any real damage to him. He looked strong enough. He was tall and fit so she knew he could probably fight or he wouldn't have gotten this far. She lowered her gun but she didn't put it down.

"What's your name?" She offered her hand. "I'm Ari King." She put some water on for hot chocolate. She hoped he couldn't tell how nervous she was. She decided to ask him the question she couldn't figure out the answer to. "Why are we still healthy? We are supposed to be dead like everyone we know. I've gone over it so many times and there was nothing different. Why are we stuck here?"

Frustration and nerves were getting to her and she went into the living room and sat on the couch. She put the safety on her gun and laid it in her lap. She wiped the tears from her eyes and looked at him as he entered the room. "Have a seat. I've taken the master bedroom upstairs. There are two other furnished bedrooms. If it gets too cold though I've been lighting a fire in the fireplace and sleeping down here. So far I've been lucky but we can't do it every night. Eventually I'll have to leave but how do I know that there are others like us that aren't getting sick and where are they? You are the first healthy Non soldier person I've seen." The tea kettle screamed through the room and she got up to get it. "Do you want some hot chocolate?"

Nikki got to her feet walked over to the door and grabbed an iron curtain rod down. "You can come back. It's MY school. Matt knows that. I'm going back and I'll look for the kids on the way."

She walked over to Raven and hugged her. She walked over to Vincent and kissed him and hugged him tightly. "I hope you come back."

Nikki opened the door and left. She was not as far away as she thought and the kids should have easily found the school unless they got lost or turned around. Nikki waved to the guards and walked right in the front door and into the cafeteria.

"Jenna? Have Haru and Erin come back?"

"Oh my god Nikki!" Jenna hugged her and said "No why did something happen?" Nikki's eyes misted up. "Yes, I hope they are alright."

Ari was in the shadows of the room and when he closed the door and looked back he was staring at a young woman in a sweater and jeans with a semi-automatic handgun about six inches from his face.

"This house is taken. You need to leave." It was obvious that she was a little frightened. There were very few healthy people around and the soldiers that were here were masked.

"Are you alone? Are you one of those gangbangers?" Ari said as she eased closer to the window. She glanced outside to see if there were others outside. Seeing the sign on the ground she swore. "Shit. I forgot to move the sign."

She looked at Malik closer. "Are you here to rape, rob and or kill me?"

ENYO

Enyo took her time walking back into the HQ. She walked into the office and took her room key back and her comink. Heading back towards the hallway she saw a couple of new guys and a new girl off to the side. She ignored them completely and headed towards her room. When she shut her door she turned the TV up really loud.

Damn Wicked and her mother for talking and making her go back. Well I'll get some sleep and go kick some ass tomorrow. She left her tv turned up and fell asleep.

Jenna brought them in hurriedly and ushered them into the cafeteria's kitchen. She brought them plates of food leftover from breakfast and set them up at a small table.

"Now don't eat or drink too fast or you might get sick."

The little boy was cute and he was around 7 or 8 she suspected the girl was older about 16ish or so. They both seemed hungry. Jenna felt like they needed someone to look out for them.

"My name is Jenna. I'm the cook here so as long as you remember where this cafeteria is you can always find me. You guys will be given a room upstairs with the other women and children. It's safer up there in case of an attack. What are your names?"

Ari was able to take the coat off in the house as long as she stayed in the back of the house where the blinds were open and the sunlight was hitting the windows liberally. When she had first occupied the house she ripped the model home sign out of the ground. She had forgotten about it. The sign wasn't standing but it was still there. She had been confronted by a sick and hungry dog. It hadn't been aggressive just very sickly looking and she had run into the house. Dog bites could be bad enough when they weren't laced with radiation. She didn't want to tempt fate.

Ari was looking out the back window feeling the heat on her face when she saw movement. She quickly grabbed the curtains and pulled them shut. If she would have had her eyes open she might have seen who it was but she only saw movement out the corner of her eye which meant they were close. She didn't know if it was a soldier, a gangmember or another sick animal. She was definitely on edge. She went back to the window and peaked out. She couldn't see anyone or thing moving around. She was hoping it had been a bird. Although she hadn't seen any birds in two weeks.

Ari made sure her gun was loaded and she waited.
