"It is what happens in royal families. They barter with another group or in this case country and usually something is exchanged for the princess to marry the King or prince of another country. It helps create ties to foreign lands so that there is less likely to be wars between the countries involved." Ranna sighed sadly. "The last time they tried this the man beat me at our first meeting because I didn't know one of the customs of his country. I nearly died. I wasn't permitted to use my powers against another royal. He was so huge that it only took a couple of hits to knock me out."

"Tokala, I have no idea what to do. I don't want to go back. I want to stay here with Kyle, I care very deeply for him already. If I don't go back my mother will send the army to come for me. I can't let them come here and destroy everything."

Ranna was just sitting there next to the crops. Everyone else had gone. She was trying to figure things out in her mind. She saw Tokala just off to the side. Usually his appearance would have caused her to tense up but not today. At this point she couldn't see how it made any difference whether he liked her or not.

"Tokala, are you over there doing something or are you spying on me like everyone else today?"

Ingrid looked at the large school with wonder. It was solid and sturdy. The building was streamlined with the colors of the school teams and she had never been in an American school before. They were really much larger and modern than what she had gone to in Ireland. She helped with the injured and took them to a room where a man was working on saving Nikki. Her husband was there too. Matt looked up at Kyle. "Nikki will be okay but she lost the baby."

Ingrid set the young man she was helping in a chair and she walked over to Nikki and held her hand. Nikki was asleep or unconscious, Ingrid couldn't really tell. Ingrid teared up and said to Kyle and Matt, "I'm so sorry. I was trying to help her get out. I didn't know he would catch her and hit her. The only thing Vincent did right was kill him for it."

Matt felt bad for the young woman. "It's not your fault. She was in the dangerous part of pregnancy and under too much stress. The kidnapping just added too much stress." Ingrid nodded slightly. "Could you call me when she wakes up? I'd like to visit with her." Matt nodded. "Sure."

Ingrid went into the cafeteria looking for something to drink. She was amazed at the updated kitchen and she went inside and found a glass and a cold can of soda. Putting the glass back she took a drink and looked around. The cafeteria was nicer than anything she had been in since Day 0. She couldn't help but think how fortunate these people had been considering so many were out in the open and left unprotected.

Zach chuckled a little and Ranna tensed up. "It's not her choice. It is my duty to bring her back. Her mother demands it. And I don't know about you but I would not like her to have me strung up. Princess get what you need to take back with you and we'll be going. Your mother has picked out another match for you. You are to meet him and marry on your arrival home."

Ranna panicked and stepped backwards right into Kyle. She shook her head vehemently. "NO!, I'm staying here. I don't want to go back!" Ranna started to shake and she put up a forcefield that ejected Zach from the building.

"Son of a bitch!" Zach got to his feet and saw her inside the building. "Princess you have to come out of there sometime! Its not my choice. I have to take you back!"

Ranna kept a forcefield up so no one could come in. She turned and looked at Kyle with tears in her eyes. "I can't go back and get married to someone, not after you."

Kyle sighed. He thought to himself What a mess. Why cant I ever meet anyone normal? Then he kissed Ranna and walked outside.

"My word around here is law Mr. Zach. I am telling you right now Ranna is not going anywhere. She is staying here.If you are scared you will be killed upon returning to your home I more than welcome you in my tribe. If you choose to decline then I see no other option than to go back where you came from, and die silently. Away from me. I find you........annoying."

By this time a small crowd of people had started to form near all of this newfound commotion. The crowd was growing slightly larger with each passing moment, but they kept their distance so as to no get hit by anything if powers started to flare.

Zach raised both of his arms and lightning bolts shot into the air. "I'm not just some stranger. I've been her bodyguard since we were children. I belong to her til one of us dies. My duty is to protect her and do as her parents say. I have no option." Zach said "look, there is nothing i can do about it. Ranna, please."

Ranna stood just a few feet behind Kyle and she shook her head. "After what happened last time...I can't. I won't! I have someone now and I'm not leaving."

Zach assumed this meant that Kyle had taken her virginity and became enraged. "Prepare yourself chief!" He flared up the electricity.

Kyle immediatley flared his power. His eyes began glowing a yellowish white glow and the light in his eyes started to act like they were steaming. Kyle got into his fighting position, orbs of light in his palms.

"RANNA BACK AWAY," kyle shouted to Ranna, "ZACH IM GOING TO SHOW YOU DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A BODYGUARD AND A LEADER."

Kyle sprung forward, half leaping half running, and started to blast his light at Zach. At first Kyle just threw a few beams of light at Zach, his beams actaully just being flashlight level beams becuase Kyle was charging for an attack and trying to fake out Zach, then Kyle rushed Zach aiming a blow for Zachs gut with his fist covered in a giant orb of light.

Zach dodged but not quite fast enough and Kyle's blow glanced off of his side. Ranna's eyes got wider as she saw Zach was already fully ready for battle as he always was. He and Ranna had trained together for years so she knew what he would do as well as he did. She watched intently.

Zach flung out electrical charges that would have exploded like firecrackers all over Kyle. Causing pain but not leaving a lot of damage. Ranna mumbled to herself "that's 1"

He and Kyle went another round and then Zach switched to shards of lightning. "2" Ranna swallowed hard. She had to stop them.

Kyle flinched slightly when the charges exploded around him, but that was it. Only flinched. Kyle once was forced to fight a raider, on orders from his father years ago, to fight a super human with electrical powers so Kyle remembered the feeling of being shocked. Kyle remembered the pain that raider inflicted on him, and the embarassment that he had caused. Kyle jumped back snapped his fingers at Zach. When he did small sparks started to be made from the snaps. After a few seconds Kyle balled his fists and rushed Zach again. Kyle snapped his fingers in front of Zach, causing a small flash. This blinded Zach temporarily. Kyle began punching him, kicking, and elbowing him. Kyle ended his combo with a blast of light to the chest.

Zach blocked as much as he could and lightning surounded his body like a cage and Ranna jumped and got between them."NO! Zach NO!" She put her forcefield up and stood between them. "I'll not let you kill these people! STOP right now!"

She raised her hand and a large energy construct appeared right in front of him. Zach lowered his defences. Ranna was confused as to what to do. She knew that Zach had the power to kill the unpowered with ease and most of the powered would have serious trouble defeating him. It was why he was picked as a child to be her bodyguard.

"Princess, you know I have to obey her. I see you are well protected here. Your boyfriend is pretty powerful in his own right. What would you have me do?"

"I don't have that answer yet." She admitted sadly. "I need a little time to figure it out." She walked over to Kyle and took his hand in hers. Pulling a key from her pocket she tossed Zach her room key. "You can stay in there tonight."

Kyle powered down and raised his eyebrow. If Ranna was giving him her room key, then she would.........

"Like I said you can stay with us for awhile. But Ranna is not going anywhere."

Ranna was glad it was over for now. She turned around and 3/4 of the tribe was there. Some thoughtful, some with their thoughts written on their faces. She knew what they were thinking and she walked back into Kyle's room. Where she lay on the bed and thought about the craziness that had turned into her life.

Kyle clapped his hands, drawing everyones attention to him.

"Ok everyone shows over get back to work thank you everyone."

As everyone dispersed Kyle walked back over to Zach.

"I just want you to know, I held back a bit because you and Ranna are old friends. I dont approve of you using a move that could kill innocent people like it seemed you were going to do, so as long as you dont try to take Ranna back and as long as you dont murder anyone we are good."

Zach shook Kyle's hand. "I'm just trying to do my job. Realistically I have two bosses in this matter. The princess is an adult but her obligations to her people are in my personal opinion well they suck and if it were up to me we would stay here but it's not and her mother would probably have my head. I'm gonna go look around for a while." Zach turned and walked away.

Kyle two finger saluted Zach and walked back to his room, taking a seat at his desk and looking at Ranna.

"Damn......did not know your ex boyfriend was gonna show up," Kyle said jokingly, "So any other ex boy friends you wanna tell me about"

"That's not funny, he is not my boyfriend. I wasn't allowed to have any. Zach has been my best friend and bodyguard since I was like 5. He is more like a brother."

"Oh c'mon it is a little funny. But you know you kinda gave away your room to Zach. Does that mean you and him will be staying in the same room or.....?"

"I wasn't planning on it. I guess I could if you don't want me to stay." She smirked at him.

Kyle laughed, then walked over to Ranna, climbing on top of her. Kyle kept his face only inches away from Rannas.

"Im not sure. He was awfully good looking. If you did I might get jealous. Why not just stay here, in my room, with me?"

"I think I could do that." Ranna smiled. "I have to figure out what to do." She said softly.

"How about let's not do that. Lets just enjoy the moment. I am so sick and tired of having to think about the future, worrying about supplies and food and security. I want to just relax and enjoy myself with the women I care about."

Kyle leaned in and kissed Ranna passionately

Ranna reached up and answered his kiss and she pulled him down to her. Ranna decided she was going to do what they wanted to do and she decided to follow her feelings.

Kyle intertwined his and Ranna's body, enjoying what he could while could. Kyle knew he needed to pull back, but he had trouble resisting. Ranna was just so perfect in every way. Kyle continued kissing Ranna, falling to his back with Ranna on top.

No matter how much she wanted to Ranna couldn't get past her situation. She kissed him and could feel how much they wanted each other but she pushed herself off of him and lay next to him. Her body was trembling with need but she couldn't win the battle with her mind.

Kyle grinned and sighed.

"Damn. Stop doing that. You just....you make it so hard to resist you know? "

Kyle wrapped his arms around Ranna.

"Its not even dinner time you know. We cannot sleep the day away. You can rest here, but I have leadership buisness to attend to."

Kyle kissed Rannas nose and got up, walking out.

Ranna got up and she went to check on the work with the crops. She couldn't just sleep all day, as far as she was concerned she had a job to do.

Eden looked at Kyle then she hugged him. "Kieran has been on a tirade tonight. He has killed many and ...it all looks like you are doing it to others." She looked devastated. "Kyle, you have to get him under control or get rid of him somehow. I want to marry YOU, not him." Eden said with tears in her eyes. She headed back towards the HQ.

When Kyle pulled in to the vicinity of the school Matt said, "Hold up Kyle." Darius was in Tina's truck behind them and he stopped too. Ahead of them was the school and between them was a bus crash and a fire. It had drawn the walkers that were in the neighborhood and it was drawing them right past the school. The fence gate was down so there were walkers inside the fence.

"I expected the fence breach but not the bus crash or the fire." He opened the door and got into the back of the bed and picked up a crowbar back there He got on his walkie to Darius. "We are going to swing the trucks in blocking the walkers direct access to the school parking lot. We need to 3 point turn them in one behind the other and it has to be tight so that the fencing can be repaired on the other side of the trucks." Matt went over the plan with Kyle and noticed Nikki was asleep.

"We need to do this fast and accurately the first time. Kyle you get Nikki inside and Darius you are fighting walkers with me. George!" Matt said into his walkie. "I'm glad to hear you Matt. Are you guys back? Is Nikki with you?" Matt said "Yes we are all at the top of the hill get someone to the front door. As soon as the trucks are in place blocking the gated area get some guys out there to help me clear the parking lot. Nikki is here but hurt. Kyle will be bringing her in." George's voice sounded concerned. "Will do Matt."

Getting the trucks lined up was tricky with walkers in the way. Matt was standing in the bed of the truck and he started bashing heads as soon as he got in their range and he cleared enough area where Darius could get out of the truck to help him. It took a while but Matt and Darius were fueled by anger and the walkers were diminishing as the guys from inside the school that came out were whacking their way through the dead. Once the walkers were losing the battle enough to chance getting Nikki inside Matt waved to Kyle to get her out of the truck. The men fro inside formed a path blocking the walkers and covered Kyle and Matt so they could get her inside safely.

Running her straight to the medical room and shutting the door Matt got to work on Nikki. He just prayed she wasn't hemorrhaging internally.
