@Serpentine88I was just pulling your leg.
Keep the sexual dimorphism for your species. Making them too different from other races would not do well for relations overall.
And just avoid using pics for the male members if it's so difficult to find a decent one.

Anyways,

Another interesting read for you.
Albeit polluting our own living place could be a big concern (and interesting plot element).

As for relations and past wars, there's a bit of that discussed here:

@Willy Vereb Yeah, I already intended to buy Mithril.

Hm.... I realized how unbelievably difficult it is to find good pictures of male naga/mermaids/etc. I've found like a bajillion women but only like 3 males (That aren't horrible or have extreme gender dimorphism), at this point I am considering just going the @Darkspleen route and going full on monogender lamia.
Don't.
The implications of such race would be quite an issue. Just opt for not always showing pictures. I mean everyone can have a vague impression what Mesulid males are most likely be like.

@Serpentine88Wanna buy mithril?
Even if you don't I think mithral-derived products would be essential for your nation. You need something which can take the pressure yet also light enough to be worn by your people. Mithril's steel-like properties yet density third of steel would be ideal for this.
But well, given Yllendthr's near monopoly on mithril it's going to be really expensive, especially since you can't just melt it to other forms after use.
Mithral (precursor element of mithril) is a cheaper but also inferior alternative which you can actually produce just like one does steel. It's more commonly used as ingredient for white paint, though.
Yeah, so.... I guess @Serpentine88's nation and mine are literally destined to be enemies. I mean, god damn. Their religion practically vilifies everything the Valkyerians stand for. I mean, sure, their are plenty of nations that are automatically despised in the eyes of Avalia, but this Sacred Empire is literally the anti-Avalia. Like, my god... there will be war the moment one of us even sneezes at each other.

Admittely, it will be the most awkward, go nowhere war, as neither of us could really touch each other... but dayum son, this definitely stirred things up.

It was made in the 70s but technically most of the elements are already there.
Also yeah, it's safe to say that any warship in this setting would sport underbelly APS ball turrets to look out for fishmen attempting to plant bombs.

As for war between you and the Mesulids. They do have an air force and land posessions, even if not that much.
You can also try using modified torpedoes for bombing runs. Imagine a torpedo designed to travel downwards. Granted accuracy would be understandably poor in general since you can't even see your target.

I have posted my nation. Its not fully done (Still need to add army and airforce info and more city and character info).

I also need to do foreign relations and history, however I need other player participation for this.

So, @Everyone else: Can you...
#1: Give me a general rundown summary of the worlds history
#2: Note any area's of history where my nation has probably been involved (Note that its been around for thousands of years)
#3: What are the likely relations in the past considering what my nation is?
#4: What are the likely current day relations?
Being an underwater nation I think the relation between you and other races were cold until the last few centuries. When did you take interest in surface lands, anyway? Especially the one found on the main continent. That'd be the real turning point in terms of politics.
Also while humans are the most numerous one of the major colonial powers are elfish (my Heavenly Empire of Yllendthyr).
Speaking of which since my worship treats the sky and the stars as sacred symbols while your nation seems to consider the opposite I wonder if it has any impact on our relations?
Hopefully not because I technically have 3-4 tiny islands in the center of your territory (almost invisibly small dots on the map thousand or so kilometers from Avalia, my previous claim).

Also how do you manage to build cities thousands of meters underwater? Or perhaps your cities which allow human and other surface dweller visitors are closer to the shores? Could kinda make sense since otherwise building something which can withstand the water pressure would be pain. But if your people can breathe in water they don't need to seal off their buildings at all.

<insert question on how would one balance this since he can't imagine the Fire Nation squaring up against the Imperium of Man and that jazz>
Oh well, I didn't want to make a double post but without that you wouldn't get the alert so whatever.

Well, first off this game wouldn't be as competitive as it sounds, it's mostly about small portion of a faction being stuck in a new world. ISOT is a term often used for these. Writing a fun story and developing your new nation will be more important than power playing.

Second, more powerful factions will be arriving with less men. Or at least will be allowed to. You can nerf yourself voluntarily if you want. No need to stick with set numbers here.

Third, power levels will be capped up a bit. Familiar with "VS debates" I suppose? Calculations and analysis can help at times but here we'll ignore most of them for the sake of fun play. There are many techs which are far more OP than you'd think as well as many massively superhuman characters who make anything else pointlessly inadequate in comparison. These things will be toned down. For example beam weapons from Gundam/Code Geass and any other mech series won't have kilotons of yield per shot even though they do have such showings. Instead they'll be treated as "better than guns at dealing with enemy armor". Walking WMD type units will be rare and high-tier. So are the actual WMDs like nukes. Superhuman characters will be toned down to the level necessary for the plot and they'll be accordingly rare. Granted, these won't be enough for example to prevent W40K IoM wrecking forces from Ancient Rome but that's not the point. Also in this game if somebody plays his/her cards right can quickly develop into a more advanced nation.

@NerevarineLooks great, albeit this being a fanfic force of sorts, you'll have to write a more through profile on them later. Albeit your intro did a decent job at that and your faction basically seems to be Gulf War era with no exotic techs, fantasy elements or whatever else.
So what do you need to write down?

First, your leader. Your intro said that a group of Immortals were lost and I doubt the Grandmaster was aboard on that ship. You may mention Dariush Kurd in parenthesis as technicall the leaer of the Immortals but your true leader would be whoever the highest ranking memeber in the party of Immortals sent to Worluk.

Second, your military. Normally you may have to talk about your society and the number of civilians, too. But you took care of that by various means. You have to describe your military a bit, though. What kind of military equipment you have? How many soldiers and number of vehicles? Also on a related note keep in mind that as a purely military unit who got lost in Worluk your equipment, ammo and related materials are limited stock you can't really replenish until you can establish contact with your home universe again.

Third, draw a point or a tiny circle on the map where your faction would be. Alternatively if you trust me just describe on which continent you are and from which sea/ocean? Say, you are at the shores of Gerondar from the Middle Seas.

Welcome to the fantastic world of Worluk, a planet found within the gap between dimensions. It's a magical world populated by drifters from other realities, a place in constant flux. Your faction just managed to open a gate to Worluk, your mission is to explore this world and if possible make it your new dominion. your mission is difficult and you must deal with countless other civilizations who may attempt to do the same. Regardless the price is well worth the effort.

So what's this game about?
Basically you play as a large group of invaders/explorers from a certain faction. I suggest using existing fiction or maybe even mythology for this because that makes things much simpler. Fantas is preferred but contemporary or sci-fi elements are allowed to give you more freedom. You can also create fanfic/AU or even completely original factions, too. It just would require far more details. Think of a lengthier NS from this section, that's what I expect from original factions. On the other hand if you use a faction from existing fandom you only need to do this:

Once sufficient number of people are ready we'd start the game. The game is split to "turn" which equals 1 month of time. For the sake of fair nobody can get further until all actions are finished for a certain turn. Say, you're a medieval army and need to travel past an entire country on foot. That takes a whole turn before done. Of course your other units or important people can do other things at the same time. Of course war is far from the only thing you can do in this game. diplomacy, trae, espionage, inrique and more are at yur disposal. You can't just mindlessly attempt to conquer everything.

This chaotic brave new world is ready. What are you waiting for?
I hope the underwater empire will be mostly neutral because their waters are home to some of the busiest sea routes in the entire world.
It also worths noting that I actually own 3-4 tiny islands just a thousand or kilometers away from Avalia.
It doesn't appear much on the map but it's blatantly inside the mermaid/naga race's territory now.
And now the popcorn eater takes center stage.

Though really I think the real issue is the martian invasion thing. Republic of Humanity works for what he's got going on thematically with them.
eah, Human Republic, Free Republic of Mankind, Earth Republic, Solarian League, there are lots of names.
That's why I am so appalled at it.

But yeah, that's a fairly minor issue which shouldn't be a detriment for the RP-ing experience (much).
The problem is how to reconcile a civilization which up until recently firmly beleived they're the sole sentient species with the Glorph's extensive history with humans dating back to first as far as the 19th century.
Forgotten history? Incidents were covered up by the government?
It's quite difficult to manage both of these concepts together.

<Snipped quote by Willy Vereb>

This is all irrelevant and has no actual bearing on the RP. He can call his nation what he wants, so long as Duck and myself approve of it. Seeing as how the nation has been approved, there's really no point to complaining about the name.
Appealing to authority is not a solution, either.
Unless we settle this you relying on authorative argument would only serve to alienate players.
Just an advice.
