1. I'm in school to become a physical therapist assistant! (Did it!)

2. I will quit any roleplay that has been inactive IC for one month for any reason. I've been in too many Schrodinger's RP's and I'm not doing that anymore.

@GreysonEA Lavender healing word is accepted due to lavender's association with essential oils and because I think healers are freaking great. As a GM it means I can throw more dangerous challenges at my players. >:]

You can also keep the "calming aura," but understand that this is a minor effect and won't be enough to stop a big fight on its own. You're welcome to continue trying to diffuse (essential oils pun) conflicts, you'll just have to do that the hard way.
One of the RP's I'm in has an NPC with my irl name, too XD
@Martian Sorry man, didn't see you there. Arthur is approved. And I learned about moonflowers! We'll try to give Arthur some night scenes. Maybe put him with vermin girl and see what happens, haha.

It looks like we have enough interest to start a real thread, wooooo! I'll set that up tonight if I have time or tomorrow at the latest. Unfortunately, I picked up a lot of extra hours at work next week, so I won't be able to be glued to my laptop for a little while.
@fer1323 Those powers seem good, probably good for a brawler, which we don't have yet. But fynbos seems to be more like a whole habitat than a particular plant. Can you try to find a specific plant within the category of fynbos?

@Enkryption You know, I was about to say no to controlling vermin, because that would be more of an animal powers thing. I wrote a whole small paragraph. But then I reread that the power works by certain scents for certain desired actions, and your creative specificity has earned you that power back, my friend. Just as long as you stay along the lines of "certain scents drive certain basic instincts" - you're working more with the animals' raw instincts than magically charming them into doing specific tasks. If you want to discuss other potential ideas for powers in private, you can PM me.

@GreysonEA ...hm. Lavender man has a valid and useful power. A good guy that I would like to know. The problem is, I'm concerned about how to have a fun interesting fighting RP when a character's main superpower is de-escalation. If you want to brainstorm here or in PM about how to modify or limit Alonzo's power - to balance out Alonzo's usefulness vs. the superhero genre's reliance on mayhem - I'll consider Alonzo "approved on probation."
Ohh, I think this could be so fun to GM, 'cause I can throw in one-off characters with really stupid powers.
Corn dude: But I have to be covered in oil first
Corn's friend: No! You really don't!
Corn dude: Yesss I do :D *removes shirt*
@Crimson Flame According to brief Google search, seaweed, in fact, does not qualify as a weed.

Florida is also good because

1. Florida Man jokes
2. Battle scene in Disney World
@LostButterfly92 Welcome friend, consider dandelion reserved until further notice. Nice to see someone pick a weed and curious about what you plan to do with it.

I'm gonna do a little worldbuilding now, so we can stay consistent as more people start putting characters together!

The plant or animal essence that bestows a power typically reveals itself as an image in a dream. The dream could happen before or after the powers emerge. The dream and powers usually happen within a couple weeks of each other, but sometimes a greater length of time passes for reasons unknown. (Or perhaps the person didn't realize the significance of the dream and had to be reminded multiple times, lol.) This helps people know and connect with their essence if it's not something obvious, like claws could come from a lot of different things.

@LuckyBlackCat This mostly keeps your backstory intact. A significant time could have passed without knowing the source of her powers, though it would be more of a mysterious "dream" than an objective "test" to finally find out. It also opens up a possibility for characters to not yet know what their essence is.

I'm thinking about setting this (at least to start) in Florida or Georgia, United States. Somewhere around that warm seaside area (for Conner) where you can drive an hour one way to a diverse progressive city and drive an hour the other way to "them animals better go home before open season starts."

EDIT: Bahaha, I just noticed Danielle's incredibly on-the-nose name. On top of Mr. Waters. I welcome the corniness. And would also welcome a corn character.
@Crimson Flame Conner looks good, welcome aboard, and thanks for taking that Designated Comic Relief role.
@LuckyBlackCat I'm sorry, but RPGuild has specific rules on explicit content, so no lemons allowed.

JK, haha!

Looks good, about what I had in mind for characters and powers. And I learned a new thing about lemons! Success already!

And the image is fine, I don't care what kind of image people use.
