Alice Jefferson

Alice Jefferson was sitting on a comfy couch in her room, watching a cooking show and drinking the warm tea she had brewed herself. It was just after breakfast and she liked the tea in the morning. She looked down at her brown tea, when suddenly the beeper device attatched to her hip vibrating and- well, beeped. The message was dire indeed. Another loony was trying to take over the world again, God knows why.

While she was thinking this, she already had the sleek white boots of her battle suit on. In a moment's notice she had attatched the modern-armor to her chest, picked up the rest of her gear in her arms and began making her way down to the briefing room while strapping on a gauntlet.

Attentively, she listened to the quick briefing, eager to get started. The briefing finished as she snugly fit her left hand into the final finger of her left gauntlet, it's white and gold trim reflecting the lights above.

"All right, Omnicron, can you hear me?" She spoke with a friendly voice into her HIVEMIND device (ominous name for such a wonderful device). She spoke to her squadmates, Jane, Sydney, and Miles. She began striding down a long corridor, finishing putting on her armor and discussing her plan.

"Jane jelly, I'd like you to sticky up those big mean robots legs, sound good? Make it hard for them to move and easy for us to hit. I can help you out with that," She shoved her hand into her right gauntlet. Winking, a cup made of shimmering, clear-as-water glass appeared in the air for Jane to hop into. It hovered along behind Alice as she speedily walk down the hallway.

"Syndney, sweat pea, I'ma ask you to put a little focus on the civvies, okay? Roll the dice in favor of the people just tryna get outta the way. And maybe throw a little luck our way, too?" She finished clipping on her belt, securing the greaves of her armor firmly to herself.

"Miles, honey, you do you. Aim for the bits you think is right." With that, she held the helmet of the suit out in front of her, looking at it. It resembled a combination between a motor cycle helmet and a medieval helm. It was white, and around the glass visor was gold trim. Gripping it under her arm, Alice picked up the pace to a jog.

She stepped into one the elevators that would take the team downstairs and into the street, where Alice assumed a vehicle would be waiting.

"Y'all ready?" She asked one last time, waiting for her teammates to enter the elevator before pressing the button. The machine took them downstairs at a rapid pace.

Alice Jefferson clicked on the sleek white helmet, it's situational awareness UI coming to life. As she put the helmet on, one could catch a brief glimpse of the hardening of Alice's eyes and the tightening of a scowl on her face.

"Omnicron," Victory said, "Let's make this quick."
Victory is best at blocking damage, as well as limiting and containing enemies movement and actions, as well as protecting her own allies. She's probably more frontlines than other support heroes though so powerhouse can work.

I'm interested in joining.

I'm considering a character who can create hard light objects like a wall or a sword or a shield, that are similar to really hard glass, and she can also treat wounds. So more of a support character.

Also, a vigilante who does kinetikinesis? The ability to manipulate her own kinetic energy or the kinetic enerby of objects she touches. So she can do some extreme mega-cool parkour by changing her newtons to bounce her off the walls easier and stuff. She can make herself hit a lot harder, or throw something really fast, or land really softly. The more newtons she manipulates the longer it takes, so it's not like she can just bust down a wall really easily. It's a strange power but I think it's really cool.

It's more of a subtle power, so to an observer it might not look like much but to people affected by what she is doing they can tell some weird stuff is going on by the way she can grab their arm and make them stumble forward.

EDIT: I don't want to make OP heroes at all, I like the struggle of protagonists, ya know? The vigilante one is really interesting to me but obviously I'll mainly be playing the more conventional hero if they are accepted.

If people can talk from demons from hell can people talk to angels from heaven?

HEAVENPACT doesn't sound as cool though

Sylvia slid out the magazine of her pistol and looked at the friendly little cylinders inside- about 5 left. Should be enough in case any more dogs show up. She smiled and looked around at the group. "Hey, we did it! That wasn't so bad." Sylvia said optimistically, inserting the magazine back into 10mm with a satisfying click. She casually turned toward the sound of Rockette's voice and shined the light onto their hanging VIP and laughed.

"Hang in there!" She said, chuckling.

Her chuckle stopped when she made eye contact with a giant fucking bear. 'Oh, shit' she mouthed to herself, and with a quick and often practiced movement, reached into her pouch, pulled out a unit of jet and put it up to her lips, sucking in a lungful of Jet. Blinking from the sudden boost, her pupils dilated, her breathing quickened and she shuddered, tossing the canister aside. It fell to the ground, landing almost weightlessly on a bed of dried of leaves. A beetle scurried away from the disturbance.

Time was not literally slowed down, of course, but that is close to what it feels like to inhale Jet. Sylvia could notice things quicker, easier. With this in mind, navigating became much easier as high roots and stumps became childs play to avoid. What was she supposed to do in these situations? Climb up a tree, play dead, make yourself big...why not just waste the fuckin' thing? Rockette should be safe, but she could use a handy distraction. And what better distractin then a shot to the fucking head?

Sylvia did a gallop backwards, raising her pistol and fired off her five rounds. One, two, three, four, five, easy. One after the other, equally spaced in their pattern, but quick and hopefully accurate. The mercenary's plan was to keep something between herself and the bear at all times. Tree's were sturdy and plentiful, the bear would have to go around or knock it down. Other mercenaries would also be a suitable object to place between herself and the bear. Trees first, of course, but things happen. After all, she didn't need to outrun the bear, she needed to outrun her 'friends'. If the monster was killed, great; If not, eehhh, Sully could get eaten and she would run away.

These were the thoughts that ran through her poisoned mind as her gun violently exploded forth white hot lead at the Yao Guai.

"Waste it!"
Are you suuuuuure?

What if we got an update tomorrow?

Devyn Haverly

Devyn was intrigued, to be sure. Her eyebrows raised in surprise at the offer and the mysterious ankh tattoo- a significant sum of cash and she'd get to directly investigate the paranormal. As interesting as the regular variety of danger was, she was always interested in discovering more about the world that existed in the shadow of her own. Reynold would have to be on board, he might even be disappointed, but this was a well paying job for something she was really interested in.

Some people were already on board, but she would like to know more. The little girl, Morgan, and her...mother (?) Erin wanted to join on. She knew Mallaidh's name (who had 'sneakily' taken a picture), but the fellow and the other woman who walked in hadn't introduced themselves yet. Still, there were clarifications to be had.

"Interesting offer, Ms. Eve. Is this an incognito operation, or are you willing to share certain details to the public? Are we going to be working with the police at all? Will the money be given to us via our bank accounts, or good old fashioned vanilla envelopes?" Devyn asked, raising an eyebrow and a corner of her mouth.

There was a humorous twist to the latter question, to disarm and downplay the implications of whatever answer their mysterious benefactor responded with. A legitimate businesswoman would have no issues depositing digitally- but someone wanting under the table dealings would go incognito by rewarding their employees with physical cash. Devyn didn't suspect this was an entirely criminal operation, but it would give her some context. The first question- well, Devyn was okay with investigating for fun and money, but being able to get a story out if it would be even better.
