The students of Athalia, finally getting a moments rest in their hectic lives, decided to go on a small vacation, to the mountains. a ski resort specifically. the students were enjoying looking forward to it. a few teachers had come along, supposedly 'to keep the students out of trouble, though in all honesty, they were just as excited for the break as the students were.

well, all but one. Andromeda Barker was not excited, in fact she was dreading the trip. she had gone because all here friends were going and she couldn't stand to get left at the school, for all intents and purposes, on her own. so she'd followed, well aware that it was a bad idea and would probably end very very badly for her. But she was already there so she couldn't back out now, she just hoped things could go according to plan for once.

Rain on the other hand was in two minds about the trip. The colder climate suited her perfectly and the setting vaguely reminded her of her home back in the mountainous ranges of RĂșnboreal. Unfortunately between the noise, the odd contraptions and the watchful eyes of supervisory staff, Rain couldn't decide if she liked the resort or not.

Right now, she was airing on the side of dislike. Having been coerced outside with the others, she was stood out in the snow in a layer of thermal clothing after being told to wrap up or stay in.

"Right! Lets get you up to the top of these slopes!"

Rain had no idea who the lady speaking to them was but her sunny disposition irked her more than the constricting snow boots she was wearing.

"Our best bet of getting everyone up there before the last call is to pair up...so you go with you and..."

The woman's voice faded from Rain's mind as she was handed a pair of ski's...which judging by the clueless look on her face, were a completely foreign concept to her.

"What the-" She huffed "How even..."

"And you two, at the back there!" The jovial woman pointed at Andromeda and then Rain.

Rain's eyebrow hitched up as she glanced over at Andromeda, looking the other girl over before focusing her eyes on her ski's, no doubt in the hope she would be able to find out the ski's purpose...well, the students were the only ones in the resort, for safety purposes.

"Okay everyone, lets head to the lifts! Don't forget to stick with your buddy!"

With that the happy woman clapped her hands and started off towards the ski lifts...not that Rain was paying her any mind.

"Looks like you're stuck with me Andro...lucky you" Rain announced, giving Andro a tight lipped smile that dripped with as much sarcasm as the last two words of her sentence.

she groaned slightly as the woman handed her skis. she was wrapped up in the warmest clothes she tought it was probably possible to own. her father had bought them for her before she headed to Athalia the first time, he knew about her blood and that if the place had harsh winters she needed the best winter clothes his money could buy, so he had them made so they would still fit her in a couple years, which is a life-saver because otherwise it wouldn't fit her and she'd have trouble finding clothes this warm. though she could still feel the slight chill trying to sink into her skin.

then she was paired with Rain. she'd have blushed if her cheeks weren't partially frozen. "Looks like you're stuck with me Andro...lucky you" she laughed a little. "oh I think you're the lucky one" Andro replied, with equal sarcasm. she sighed and shivered "let's head up, we should just get this over with, we aren't going to be able to get away without going down the slopes at least once" she had limited knowledge of how to use the skis. so she started towards the cliff face, glancing back to make sure Rain was following. at least she was stuck with someone both attractive and as annoyed by this whole thing as she was.

Rain turned the ski's over in her hands, amusement dancing across her eyes at Andro's sarcastic response. That being said Rain was considering herself lucky, if she had to go through with this, it helped being paired with someone easy on the eye and of the same mind.

"Just get it over with hmm..." Rain mused looking down at the ski's in her hand before following after Andro.

"Do you know who suggested this would be a good break?" She piped up after a few steps, glaring down at her feet as they dragged through the snow "Because if you do, remind me before the next full moon so I know who to maul"

Between Rain's awkward movement through the snow and her nearly losing a boot on the way up, the two ended up arriving at the lift around about the same time that their classmates were starting to get off at the other end.

Upon seeing the two seated carriage waiting for them at the crest of the snowy hill, Rain felt a small knot form in her stomach. She should have seen it coming but she hadn't really listened to the last thing the cheerful woman had said.

Rain exhaled a low grumbling growl as she came to stand next to Andro, giving the lift a distrusting look.

"Alright ladies, if you're going up, get your ski's on and hop into the lift" A guy stood by the lift called to them, waving them over.

"Ski's on?" Rain repeated looking at the contraptions in her hand before looking to Andro for guidance.

"Do you know who suggested this would be a good break? Because if you do, remind me before the next full moon so I know who to maul" Andro laughed at Rain's statement. she thought for a second "pretty sure it was someone with snow powers" she said.
she herself was having issues getting through the snow but she kept quiet about it, despite the fact that snow was getting into her boots and she was officially freezing, despite her warm clothes, 'how cold is it?!' she shivered involuntarily.
finally they made it to the top and when the guy told them to put the skis on, she knelt and starting putting her's on. until she heard Rain ask "Ski's on?"

Andro glanced up "do you not know how?" she smiled "that's alright, I only know cause my mom was a fan of skiing, here, I'll show you how" she clumsy did up her own, kneeling in an odd position so the werewolf could see what she was doing, snow was soaking into her pants and she shivering. "t-there, you got that? do I-I need to do it for you?" she asked it gently, and with a smile.

Andro glanced down the slope and groaned internally again, she really wasn't looking forward to this. regardless, she smiled at Rain, partially because she just liked looking at her, Rain was an attractive woman. "you ready?"

Rain's lip twitched up as Andro laughed at her statement, though it was swiftly replaced by a scowl.

"Of course it was..." She grumbled "Gremlins, the lot of them"

Normally Rain would have caught Andro's shivering but with the heavy set thermal clothes and being rather self absorbed with her own problems she didn't notice...it was bad on her part, as a werewolf being in tune with others was a must.

The werewolf dropped her ski's on the floor and shook her head in answer to Andro's question. She leant forward and rested her hands on her thighs as she watched the gorgon clumsily do up her own. She was taken aback by Andro's gentle question and caught off guard by the smile that accompanied it, the werewolf wasn't convinced she deserved it. 'Not that it isn't welcome...' Realising that she had been staring for longer than the customary 10 seconds or so, Rain gave another curt nod.

"I think I got it..." She murmured, crouching down to fiddle around with the clips on her own ski's. It didn't take her long to get everything connected up...

"As ready as I'm ever going to be" She sighed, looking down at her feet to double check everything looked the same as Andro's set up.

Nothing could have prepared her for what was to come next as she tried to take a step forward, having not thought to pick up the poles that had come with the ski's, she started sliding backwards. With a startled yelp she threw herself forward and dug her fingers into the snow, her claws grazed against the frozen ground but didn't offer her the best traction...

Cue the helpful lift monitor who quickly pulled her back into her feet and handed both her and Andro a set of poles.

Rain's cheeks were flushed a light rosy color as she righted herself, which was a rare treat when it came to the confident werewolf.

"Sorry, that was...embarrassing. Caleb is the only one who should be pulling stunts like that" She apologised to Andro, looking away as she risked pushing her hair back behind her ear and attempted to move up to the lift. She couldn't put her finger on it but the fact she'd messed up in front of Andromeda of all people had flustered her all the more.

"So, moving on swiftly...how often did you and your mum go skiing?" She asked in an attempt to move on from her fumble as the guy set about getting them into the lift.

she watched as Rain got her own skis on. "good job, you learn quick" then Rain face-planted in the snow and Andro snorted before she managed to cover her mouth. she sobered her expression as the guide helped her up, but she still had a slight smile on her face. after Rain apologized the Gorgon replied "don't worry, everyone does it at least once, I think I did it four times when my mom brought me skiing" she said, as she approached the lift.
Rain's question took her a bit by surprise and she had to take a second before she could answer. "I only went once" she said "well, I only did the actual skiing part once, after that my mom just let me stay at the resort while she went skiing, she didn't exactly mind not having me around" she let the guide help her up onto the seat and she scooted over so Rain could get on. she didn't feel the need to tell Rain that first ski trip had ended with her getting hypothermia, she only intended to go down the bunny trail once, to get people off her back, she shouldn't be out here long enough to worry about it.
she smiled at Rain again "I can tell you've never gone skiing, but have you spent a lot of time in the mountains before? you looked pretty comfortable before you put the skiis on" her segue was probably a bit awkward but her mother was a bit of a sore subject.

"I wouldn't be around if I wasn't a quick study" She murmured as she was helped to her feet. Andro's response to her apology did little to reassure Rain after her blunder, it was rare for the werewolf to give in to her pride but falling on her face wasn't exactly an impressive display of her prowess...

The brief pause was enough to tell Rain that she might have hit a sore subject, if that wasn't enough she could sense it through Andro's answer. Gingerly making her way over to the lift, Rain growled at the guide as he went to help her into the lift...she wanted them both to see she was fully capable of getting herself into the diabolical contraption.

"Sorry, I shouldn't have asked about her" Rain interjected as she settled into the lift next to Andro, curling her fingers around the bar once the guide had secured it in place.

She glanced at the gorgon as she batted a question back at her, were it not for the obvious discomfort she'd caused with her own question, Rain would have given a short answer. She didn't often talk about her home, not because it was a sore subject...more so for safety's sake.

"You could say that...my pack lives in mountains similiar to these. Tends to be less snow around there, this time of year mind you. We don't really ski...occassionally we'd go sledding for fun" She responded, inhaling sharply as the lift jutted to life and they started off up the mountain. It wasn't that Rain was scared of heights, she loved them, but machinery of any kind made her nervous.

"Say, did you skip skiing again because you didn't enjoy it or for more personal reasons?" The werewolf asked, keen to concentrate on something other than the lift they were sat in, it wasn't exactly difficult to be distracted with Andromeda there.

Andro felt a little bad when Rain apologized for mentioning her mom. she didn't want to make Rain feel bad, but Andro really didn't want to explain so she'd just smiled and gone right into her next question as the lift moved forward.
she was actually pretty interested in Rain's answer, she didn't really know anything about the werewolf so she payed close attention to the woman's answer. "oh really? I don't particularly like snow so I maybe I'd like it there, but I could never survive in the woods" she chuckled a little nervously "not by myself, and I certainly don't belong to any wolf packs"

she was a bit confused by Rain's question but since she still felt bad about Rain apologizing earlier she told her the truth, most of it anyway. "honestly?" Andro asked "both, as you've noticed, me and my mother... well that's not something I like discussing..." she heard a quiet hiss from beneath her hood, that was a nice sound, it meant her snakes were still conscious, if they lost consciousness she would soon follow. "but uh... I don't like the cold, it's... well it's not particularly good for me" she still remembered finding that out the hard way, it hadn't been until years after that she'd started wondering if her mom had brought her out there on purpose, because she knew.

Andro shook her head a little, she wasn't going to think about it right now, she was going to have a nice time with Rain. "um, Skiing's not that different from sledding, honestly" she said, wanting to change the topic away from her again. "as long as you land on your feet and keep your balance you'll do fine" they were about half way to the top now "do you... uh do you miss your pack? they're like your family right?"

Rain turned to look at Andro as she answered, taking the time out to really look at her. Her gaze was searching to the say the least and seemed to focus on Andro's eyes -not that she could actually see them- for the most part.

"Hmm, yeah, you're probably right...running water, log cabins, off-the-grid naturally sourced electricity, tight knit community, no crime, natural order, it wouldn't be your thing" There was a hint of sarcasm to her words...being unable to read Andro, she'd jumped to the conclusion that the gorgon honestly thought that Rain's lifestyle was practically the same as that of a normal wolf pack. That she lived in a den, dug into the side of a mountain with the rest of her pack.

"That's a given, the lone wolf dies whereas the pack thrives" She added "Who's to say that logic can be used for just wolves?" She finished with before jumping to change the subject.

She was quiet as Andro answered her question, focusing her eyes on the frozen ground beneath them. Glancing at the gorgon as she caught on to the faint hissing from inside her hood "I noticed. Don't worry, I won't ask anymore questions on the subject" She assured her, giving her questioning look a t her comment on the cold "I didn't think the cold was good for anyone"

She chuckled at the skiing advise, a smile on her face "Heh, that simple is it? It's a good thing my balance has improved"

The lift juddered as Andro asked her question, causing Rain to inhale sharply and push herself back in her seat. It took her a minute to calm down enough to answer...in truth it was a slightly awkward one to answer. That much was apparent in the small silence that followed

"Yes, my pack is my family...but I...I'm uns-"

She didn't get a chance to finish answering as an almighty screech erupted from the top of the lift, causing her to hiss and clamp her hands over her sensitive ears. At the same time the ski lift staggered to a halt, swinging back and forth as it lost all momentum.

With her head ringing from the screech, Rain curled her body around the safety bar, praying it would be enough to keep her in the abominable contraption. Looking up ahead of them it was clear to see they'd stopped a third away from one of the checkpoints, suspended in the air above a barren land of snow with the sun slowly but surely dipping behind the horizon.

"What the hell just happened?!"

Andro laughed at Rain's statement on the conditions in which they lived. she hadn't necessarily thought that they lived like wolves but she hadn't thought they would be that well off. when she mentioned the lone wolf dying off, Andro just nodded in agreement.

Andro smiled widely again when she said she wouldn't bring it up, then chuckled a little when she mentioned cold being bad for everyone. "haha, yeah, that's true" she leaned forward slightly on the bar, looking at Rain.

at the mention of her balance Andro laughed again "I'm sure you'll be great at it once you get your feet beneath you, so to speak" Andro ran a hand through the snakes under her hood, they sluggishly nipped at her hands. "we'll be on the bunny trail anyway, it's the easiest one, I'd never make you go down one of the hard ones"

she was leaning on the bar and looking sideways at Rain when the ski lift jittered and she nearly tumbled forward but the bar caught across her lap, leaving her bent over it, staring down at the snow. she managed to grab her sunglasses before they tumbled away. she heard Rain speak as she pulled herself back up and slid the glasses back onto her face. "are you alright?"

"I think the ski lift jammed" she shuddered slightly, the wind was faster up here and cold. she was shivering but was keeping her teeth from chattering for the time being. still she wrapped her arms around herself. "that's not a good sign" she tried to look up towards the top but the snow was making it too difficult.

The edges of Rain's mouth turned up and for a brief minute her eyes softened as Andro encouraged and reassured her, it was enough to remind her...of another time. Turning her eyes forward, her expression returned to a more guarded state.

"Thanks, I appreciate it" She murmured glancing back at Andro before looking ahead, watching snowflakes prance through the air as it begun to snow.

Rain didn't catch Andro's question, it was lost amidst the ringing in her ears. Shaking her head, she looked up at the lift's joint above them, already feeling her heart rate increase as Andro confirmed her fear.

They were stuck.

As if that wasn't worse enough the weather was changing, the snowflakes flew past them in flurries as the wind swept over the top of the mountains. The lift creaked every time the wind passed it, or one of them moved.

Rain's fingers clamped around the safety bar and as she turned to look at Andro, her eyes shifted colors, a byzantium purple seemed to bleed out of her pupil flooding her iris. As the strong color splashed against the sides, shimmering flecks floated to the surface and her eyes begun to glow.

"Are you hurt?" She asked, her voice was sharper than she had meant it to be.

Whilst she waited for an answer, she started looking over the lift they were in, no doubt searching for a way out. Unfortunately as she tried to lean forward over the bar, it caused the carriage to creak loudly and roll forward, not enough to throw them out but enough to cause Rain's stomach to lurch violently. She pushed herself back and inhaled sharply.

"Damn it..." She hissed under her breath "I knew these stupid things were unreliable" She muttered, letting her head flop back against the seat. Her lips parted just enough to reveal her elongated canines as she took in a few deep breaths to calm herself down. The rise in her stress levels had caused her body temperature to increase further, if she'd been human she'd have been sweating buckets by now.

"Can you see a way out of this?"

Andro shook her head "no, I'm fine, at least I think so, got some snow in my eyes and the bar might have bruised something but I'm alive" she repeated her own question because Rain hadn't answered her "what about you? are you alright?" she tightened her own coat around her as best she could as she said it.
'dammit' she thought 'I have to get down from here, in any normal situation i'd suggest just waiting for rescue, it's surely incoming but there's not guarantee I can last that long...'

she looked at Rain, saw the teeth and the glowing eyes. she reached over, trying to still her shaking hand as she put it on the werewolf's shoulder "it's gonna be... be alright, we'll be f-fine" she tried smiling again, but it wavered as a chill wind flowed across them. 'why is it so cold?!' she thought, scientifically she knew, there was nothing blocking the wind and they were pretty high up in altitude so being farther from the earth's core made it colder as well, but she didn't want to think scientifically right now, she wanted to panic, but if she panicked, Rain probably would and that might end in disaster. so she ignored her own shivers and increasingly lower body temperature and looked forward towards the next checkpoint again "no, I can't see anything, the snow's to heavy, but I'm sure someone's on their way to help us already,"

"Good" She said, sighing in relief. She had hoped Andro hadn't been harmed at all but a bruise didn't seem to bad.

She turned to look at Andromeda as she repeated her question, her expression caught between showing surprise and agitation.

"I'm fine, no permanent damage...werewolf remember" She answered before leaning forward.

She actually considered changing her answer after the lift moved, she wasn't fine. She was pissed...mainly at herself for getting in the lift in the first place. She knew better than trust machines like this. Feeling Andro clasp her shoulder, Rain looked down at it, her expression unnaturally stony as the gorgon tried to reassure her for the second time.

Her brow furrowed and her eyes tightened as she resisted the urge to snap at her. Knowing for a fact it wouldn't help their situation...and Andro didn't deserve it. Instead she literally bit down on her tongue and allowed her rage to simmer in the depths of her belly.

Instead she tried to focus on the reassuring beat of her own heart...and Andromeda's. It was around this time that she noticed that something seemed off with her friend, firstly being that her heart was beating slower than normal...

"No, we can't depend on that" Rain growled, pinching the bridge of her nose "We have to think about this logically...assume nobody is coming for us"

It was a strange way of picturing it but to Rain these people were not a part of her pack which meant they were not reliable or important. It was up to them to get out of this...but.

"Andro...your heart beat sounds off" She blurted out, carefully leaning forward so that she could look the gorgon in the face.

Lifting her hand she moved it towards Andro face, seeming to hesitate for a moment before she brazenly reached out to spread her fingertips against Andromeda's cheek. If she managed to the difference in temperature would probably be a shock for both of them. Rain wasn't wearing gloves, she'd outright refused and it was clear why, her fingertips practically throbbed with warmth as if she'd just toasted them over a fire.

she sighed a little in relief "good, I'm more fragile then you but you never know" Rain leaned forward and the whole lift moved slightly, but not much.

she pulled her hand back with a silent sigh but she kept looking at her, maybe it was the height? more then likely Rain didn't like being helpless. they were helpless, up here. Andro knew she would not be able to survive jumping, Rain might but not without a few injuries herself. there was always the supports, if they could make it to the one in front of them, or even the one behind them, they might be able to climb down, it wasn't a bad plan... for Rain. it might help Andro a little because she was part human, the action might give her a little bit of heat but it would be more like a hypothermic person swimming, the water saps the heat from their skin.

she was so caught up in her own thoughts she didn't realize Rain was reaching for her until she touched her. it hurt. so much heat against freezing skin. with a tiny cry she practically threw herself back, knocking into the side of the lift and making it sway back and forth and she had to grab the bar to keep from tipping sideways. "s... sorry... are yo-you alright?" in that logical section of her brain that still had some sway she was aware that even if Rain's body temp was higher then your average human's it was a bad thing that she was cold enough it practically flash-burned her cheek. she probably felt like a statue cold and hard, guess it worked, since her skin was the color of marble. 'Stop' she told herself 'focus, the cold's slowing down my brain, I have to focus, did Rain say anything?' she shook her head slightly again, to regain her focus on the werewolf beside her.

Rain had expected a reaction from Andromeda but she hadn't been prepared for what happened next no sooner had she registered just how cold Andro was, when the gorgon let out a cry and pulled away from her. As the cart moved, the safety bar slammed against her ribs causing her to inhale sharply and wrap an arm around it to keep her from flopping over the side.

As the lift calmed down Rain, took a deep breath and ran her clawed fingers into her hair, pulling her fringe back off of her face and closed her eyes.

"Stop asking me that..." She muttered, glancing at Andro "I'm fine, you're not"

The werewolf's brow crinkled into a frown as she grit her teeth together and growled in annoyance.

"How bad is it? And don't bullshit me on this...I'll be able to tell if you lie to me" Rain warned her, she must have been serious because that was possibly the first time the werewolf had used such a strong curse word.

She was trying very hard not to react too aggressively to the fact that Andro hadn't told her this before.

"The cold being not particularly good for you isn't good enough" She added, lowering her hand to grip the bar and turning her head to face Andro more to keep a flurry of snow from flying directly into her face.

She had been raised to keep a level head in these sorts of situations, to not allow her emotions to dictate her reactions. Yet being trapped in a machine, suspended above a blanket of snow, with little to no idea what was beneath it and with Andro freezing to death beside her...seemed to push the delicate balance in her mind. It didn't help that the full moon was only a few days away...

As she waited for Andro's answer she started listing possible escape plans, most of which were similiar to what the gorgon had been thinking of earlier. Though she was less concerned for her own safety...there was a part of her that just wanted to get off of the lift, to remove the crippling feeling of helplessness that seemed to taint her mind. 'This isn't happening...this can't be happening...'

Andro looked guiltily down at her hands, which were covered with gloves and still felt like they were icing over. "it's uh... haha well," she looked up "I'm cold-blooded, m-my body can't... can't make it's ow-own heat" she shivered again "I tried... tried to convince th-the others not to make me... come but they wouldn't believe me..." she brought her gloved hands up to her face, hoping to give what little heat she could to her cheeks "if we weren't so high up... it wouldn't be so bad"

she looked down "we hav-have to get down... but I don't... I don't know how" she looked between Rain and the snow again "I'm sorry... for not telling you. ever-everyone already treats me... like I'm made of glass, I did-didn't want you thinking that too" she looked back out at the snow 'not glass exactly' she thought 'more like porcelain I suppose, something pretty but easily broken and not easily fixed' she realized she was zoning out again 'that's not good, got to focus on something' she looked up at Rain again. "may-maybe you could... climb to that..." she point to the support "if-if you get down... you ca-can get help..."

Rain's grip on the safety bar steadily tightened as Andro spoke, more complications thrown into an already chaotic situation.

'Cold blooded...like a reptile. We couldn't have come to a worse place...'

"Didn't believe you?" She growled "What a bunch of idiots!"

The werewolf ground her teeth together, feeling a lump rise in her throat as this new piece of information truly sank in. If she didn't get them off of this lift, Andro would...she pushed the thought aside, unwilling to entertain the fresh anxiety that accompanied it. Instead she focused on what Andro said next and focused on remaining as calm as possible.

"...It's okay" She cut in as Andro looked back down at the snow, zoning out a second time as she did "If we weren't stuck on this stupid thing, you wouldn't have had too..."

She couldn't help but think 'I think everyone from here is fragile...' it wasn't a thought she was ashamed of either but something kept her from voicing her opinion to the gorgon next to her. The way she'd worded it.

"Among my people actions speak louder than words...I'd only think that if you acted that way" She told her, unaware that she may not have heard it.

Her eyes narrowed as she looked over at the support Andro had pointed out before the wire leading back to the lift.

"I could" She agreed, before shaking her head "But I'm not going too"

"I'm not good at tracking through the snow and by the time help gets here you could be..." She trailed off there, though the point she had been about to make was obvious. "We're in this together and we're getting out of this together, just...give me a minute to work out a plan." There was a fierce look in her eye as she spoke, a promise

"Hold on to something" She warned Andro shortly after as she let go of the safety bar, which had large melted welts across it from her fingers. Providing the gorgon had grabbed a hold of something, Rain leant forward over the bar and reached down to fiddle with the clasps of her ski's, trying not to tip the lift too far forward as she did.

"Got 'em" She announced a moment later as her ski's slipped off of her feet and plummeted towards the frozen ground below them. Rain leant back in lift, wiping her forehead with the back of her hand, a few beads of sweat had formed on her forehead.

"How are you holding up?"

"Didn't believe you?" She growled "What a bunch of idiots!"
Andro chuckled "they thought I-I was just... trying to get out, I'm known... for being anti-social" she shivered but managed a smile at her companion. she also much appreciated Rain's next statement, though she barely caught it. Rain's next sentence however, was unheard as Andro struggled to bring herself back. she remembered getting hypothermia as a kid and remembered all but losing her sense of self and being unable to tell what was going on. she knew that was what was happening now and she was determined not to let it for as long as possible.

"I could" She agreed, before shaking her head "But I'm not going too"
Andro felt strangely relieved. while she wanted Rain to get away safely she didn't want to be alone. Rain's further explanation made her smile a little regardless of the implication of her potential death "t-thank you..." she muttered "I... I don't want to be alone" she cursed a little internally 'did I just say that out loud? oh great, keep ahold of yourself Andromeda, you're better then this!'

when Rain told her to hold onto something she raised an eyebrow but put her arm around the side of the lift and locked her hands. between that and the bar she shouldn't fall off. she stared down at the snow as the lift tilted and after a moment she saw Rain's skis fall and barely held back a giggle 'keep it together' she thought. she looked back at Rain in time to realize she was saying something and barely caught the words. "I-I'm alright... I've ha-had worse... much worse" she looked back down "what... what was that about?"

'I can't do this on my own' Andromeda suddenly thought, feeling utterly weak "R-rain... do you... know the symptoms o-of hypo-pothermia?"

Rain's fingers twitched as she caught Andro's mutter, it caused a tug of pain in her chest and for a moment she felt an urge to assure the gorgon she wouldn't leave her alone. There was no way of explaining it, well there was one but she wasn't quite ready to admit that one.'...can't get attached to them, can't think of them as a pack' she reminded herself, as she gave Andro a reassuring smile before taking out her frustration on her ski's.

The werewolf raised an eyebrow at Andro before looking down at her feet, glad to have them out of the ski's. "I can't tell if that's reassuring or not right now..." She told Andro "I can't do anything with those things on. Need to be able to move around"

Rain looked back up at Andro, lifting her hand to wipe away the snowflakes stuck to her eyelashes. She licked at her lips and dropped her gaze to her hands, wishing Andro's question hadn't tugged at her memories...

"Yes..." She whispered, taking a deep breath before she looked back at Andro and said it louder "Yes, I know the symptoms...you're displaying a few already. Loss of concentration..."

'Shivering...confusion...lack of judgment' The voice wasn't her own and if that wasn't chilling enough, the symptoms to come were.

"We need to get you down from here and into some cover...get you warmed up" Rain murmured, looking around at the ski lift again.

"I've got an idea...you're not going to like it but it's all I've got" She announced, reaching up and unzipping her coat. "See if you can get this round you as well...whilst I jump down there"

With that said, Rain started to wriggle out of her coat, inhaling sharply as the cold air hit her. She was only wearing a white vest top beneath it, no doubt to limit her body temperature. Once the lift had stopped moving she pushed the warm jacket towards Andro, aware that it wasn't a long term solution...
