Question: If I want to create a character that uses magic from the Dresdenverse, how should I count it? Would it be one or two abilities? I mean, would being able to use magic count as one ability, and being a wizard(moderate ability to heal, wizard sight, soul gaze) count as another, or would they both just fall under being a wizard? Question(2): Also, since our abilities will fluctuate based on the physics of the world we're in, I'm assuming, it would be okay if we give our characters abilities that are extremely varied and noway connected with their other one, would this be correct?

Wouldn't abilities that are condusive to one another be more advantageous in helping to create a believable and balanced character?

Considering the abilities are chosen by the characters, it makes just as much sense for them to be varied and unrelated as it does for them to be connected. I know if I was given that choice, my powers would be all over the place. But yeah, if they were chosen by someone else, it would make more sense for the abilities to be more related to each other.

Anyway, I'll have the IC and OOC up soon, so I might as well answer any questions you guys have. On powers/abilities, you will be asked during the RP to keep it simple and also, you will be given some time to decide among yourselves what abilities you want, so you can develop a system among yourselves. The advice given by Curio (the Angel who first informs you of your special status as a 'Protagonist') is to keep your advice very general, that way, it'll be more flexible. Very specific abilities might be extremely powerful in one universe, but next to useless in another. For example, in a universe where magic exists, the kind of magic you ask for may as well make you a god, however, if you find yourself in a world with almost no magic, then you will find yourself similarly empty of magic. A robot bodyguard in the image of a cute girl. He's a weird pervy nerd, so I doubt he'd be much into fighting his own battles.

A robotic bodyguard seems really out there for what is supposed to be normal teenagers. maybe if you add that one of his powers is that he always gets a protector in each universe it wouldn't be as odd.

That second part, about the powers, is exactly what I meant. I did not mean he just had the robo-guard like as a regular teenager. That would be pretty cool though. I wish I had a hot robo-babe to protect me...

I'm interested, mind if I squeeze in with a character based on myself? I plan on giving him Distance Manipulation and Water Manipulation if that's okay, and perhaps Ice Manipulation.
