It balances. Anywho, my schedule looks like a rat's nest, full of holes and independent studies since we can't fill the holes. I was missing two classes, and we have to do all sort of shenanigans that end up with me getting out early first tri and essentially a free period second, with early classes and independent ones. It's really weird.
