I thought I'd share this again. I had posted it pre-Guildfall, and it seemed to attract some attention from people who wanted to really flesh out their characters, so I decided to bring it back. Might get the same amount of attention. Might not. Don't really care. Just wanted to make people aware of it's existence, and challenge all those people without lives to fill one out.

Admittedly, the sheet isn't perfect. I noticed a few sections that seemed very similar to others, but I decided to keep them all in. Don't want to trash someone else's work after all.

What do you guys think of it? Want to try it out? Post any filled character sheets over there, and maybe leave your thoughts about the experience here.

Might give this a shot for a bit of fun. xD

Gave it a good read through. If I ever needed a sheet of such caliber, I'd make the following adjustments: The bit about the personality type is too esoteric for those not thoroughly versed in Freudian psychology, and it would be better to use actual temperments rather than the old Shakespearean terminology. I have a Masters in English literature and I still can never remember what the hell "phlegmatic" means besides "having an excess of phlegm."

The education section also only allows for the current "traditional" Western school system. What about a mentorship? What about home schooling? What about learning a trade? What about inheriting a family trade? What about growing up at a temple? What about being raised by wolves? The series of questions doesn't seem to accommodate a wide variety of educational backgrounds. A clever writer could of course play with the questions, but the questions themselves scream "grade school, then college."

Other than that, seems pretty good.

I'd do it, almost entirely because I would do shit like that.

I can see the appeal of having a character sheet this big, as it sets in stone what kind of person your character is. However, it leaves very little to be discovered. It's restrictive and doesn't allow the player to really come up with stuff on the fly, or have the character "write themselves", as it would all have already been decided.

Some people will like it, some won't.
I, for one, find it to be too restrictive.

Screw you and your accomplishing things that actually matter. I'm just going to sit here and slowly kill myself with potato chips while I write bad sci-fi that I don't actually intend to do anything with.

But honestly, I might actually do this with a few characters. It seems like a good way to kill any interest I had in them get to know them better.

Only two of those were sci-fi, and both were just copied of WWII! Where nations are represented by species named after their galactic arms! You were unaware of the badness because I hid it behind historical references, solid story lines, and functioning characters!

I'm not actually doing NaNo either, I barely finished 16-17 thousand words in two weeks, and that was WITH completely ignoring school. If I did NaNo, I'd fail all my classes.
