Maybe I'll watch it eventually. But sci-fi just doesn't really appeal to me--and before you say that's not a reason, it isn't; it's just that because of that I'm too lazy to take the time and actually watch it.

It's an ice beam. You can't deflect a beam made of one specific element. That would only be possible if the enemy had similar powers. It would simply freeze the mirrors.

It's not an ice beam. That's not his power. It's a light beam. His light just happens to restrict the movement of whatever being it touches. It's not freezing them in ice, it's just freezing them.
