Hmm... I was reading through everything assembled here when I saw the words Warhammer and 40K. Then I read through the rest of what is here and realized that we don't have any self-righteous warrior cults. Would any be opposed to the existence of a cult of burly warrior men hidden away in their fortress going out to fight whenever they see something they don't like/are given enough resources/money?

My only opposition, personally, would be the whole "hidden away in a fort" thing. It seems like everyone always has to be hidden away in a fort, and it gets repetitive. That's just my opinion, though.

That's true actually, but I don't want to worry myself over civilians and the problems of maintaining a orderly city filled with petty crime and greed.

Which sparks an idea, if anyone who has or will make a faction with a full city, or even several cities, would like an order of knightly warriors living nearby than perhaps I can help.

@Chairman Stein One suggestion for your NS- given your high population, you ought to be located near a major water (and thus food) source.

@Darkmatter No objections from me on your idea. The door could be archeo-tech, or just the ruins of a former non-advanced civilization. Magic, or tech, or whatever you want it to be. My only worry is that they'll have little reason for interaction with anyone, so maybe give them a reason/means for relationships with other factions.

@neogreggory Sounds good. Instead of tucked away in the middle of nowhere, maybe base them out of someone elses faction? Make them nomadic? More room for interaction.

@Arawak Please put your WIP NS in the Character Tab with UNAPPROVED at the top. Just easier for me to keep track. Thanks! It looks good!

@Dead Cruiser Sounds good, can't wait to see it. My faction will be somewhat similar, so our dudes will have to hate each other.

@Pepperm1nts You make some good points regarding the trading cities and tucked-away fortresses. any ideas on your faction?

@ClocktowerEchos something orky would be great.

@all: Anybody good with paint? Any volunteers for putting together a map? I just need a basic, interesting looking landmass, and I will fill in features, factions, etc.

@Flagg I'm still working out details for my faction. I'll be trying to avoid merchants and tucked-away fortresses, because we have a few of both already. It will probably be a city-state, but that's about the extent of what I have "written in stone".

As for someone good with paint maps - Gorgenmast is pretty damn good.

@Flagg
I'd disagree. I think being a weird order who trains a sought after profession has a magical door and need provisions gives plenty reason to interact.

@FlaggHow orky should be orky? As of right now I'm thinking of having their build style be really crude and dangerous looking. I'm also thinking of having them have the powers of the greater ones so they can work off of insane troll logic like purple stealth and red speed boosts. Wither they no they have it or not is a different question.

Maybe you could embed a scholar with the kwaalish or vice versa. A sort of learning vs. Religion rp

Yeah, the speed boosts and cloaking stuff was the kind of stuff Flagg said we should avoid. Magic in this is mysterious and rare, and more shamanistic than the usual fireball slingin' stuff.

Yeah... I thought it was more post-apoc in a more modern sense hence why I tried for a more 40k feel... >_>

@Chairman Stein I read that your city is on a trade rout (Widow's Tears). Would you be okay if my civilization was also on this route? They would mostly export silver, gold and sandstone from the cliffs near the city.

The city would also be at the edge of a river if that's okay.

Yea that's perfectly fine. The Widow's Tears, I should add, is a route along a river. Said river is what gives the route it's name to begin with. I'll add in more info in a bit once I've woken up more.

Also note anyone else who wants to collab on geography or history with the Grand City just message me or reply to this. I'm willing to spice things up as much as I can!

I put up a work-in-progess.

It's not even close to being finished, but it's something. I still have to structure it all better and fix grammar and all that stuff for what I have written. I'm just posting what I have to show tangible interest and also call dibs on the idea of a sea of ship wrecks. The Sea of Giants may or may not be an old spaceship shipyard.

I'd like the College to just be sticky fingers in a lot of pots so I reckon there's great room for interaction!
