It's about 2:30 pm, and at Waterway Middle school, that means School's just getting out. Kato isn't normally one to run from the classroom, but today he was the first out the door. His twin sister Tori was already waiting for him at their house, only a few blocks from the school. She'd beaten him again.

"Seriously, how do you do that?"

"I'm magic." She smiled as she turned to walk away. "Oh, and there's that shortcut between Jay's house and the park, remember?"

He huffed as he caught his breath, following her to the backyard and into the tree-house that served as their base of operations. The others would be meeting them here soon, hopefully. While they waited, the siblings would change into their costumes. There was a lot of hero-work to be done today.

Meanwhile, Henri and Carol met up at the bus stop. The two spoke to each other in hushed tones as they waited to board the great yellow monstrosity and go home. It seemed like they were also waiting for something to happen, considering how Henri kept glancing at his watch.

Jay stayed behind in the classroom until everyone left, like always. There's always such a rush towards the end of the day. He walked out of the school calmly and began to make his way home, which wasn't a very far walk.

The treehouse base of Phantom and Friends sits high atop an old oak tree in the Swanson's backyard. A rope ladder serves as the only way up, but there is a zipline that can be used to get back down to the ground. Inside the base, a circular table sits in the middle of the room, with beanbag chairs scattered around. There's a bookshelf and a Toy chest that each hold many interesting things. Currently, a map of the town is taped onto the table, with red X-es drawn over most of the houses on the east side, and green circles around a handful of places across town.

The Phantom and Muse are both sitting on beanbags around the table, looking at the map and waiting for the other heroes to show up now.

The Waterway middle school is the only place in town where a truce has ever held. It's a diplomatic spot, and so Henri and Carol are very anxious to leave the Neutral grounds and begin to fill their evening's quota of Chaos around town.

The building itself is one of the nicer places in Waterway, though everyone still hates it because it's a school. The front of the building is about 5 feet from the main street, and so as children leave for the day usually cars aren't even allowed to drive that stretch of road until all's clear. The bus stop where the two members of the Chaotic Alliance are waiting is on the corner of the street that the school is on, so the bus can actually get to the children it needs to transport.

Jay's house is right across the street from the school, and right next to the park. Honestly, best spot to live for a kid. His front yard faces the school, and from his bedroom (homebase) he can see and monitor the Phantom and Friend's Treehouse base through the window.

Currently, Jay is sitting on his front porch, because the doors to the house are locked. He can't change into costume until his dad gets home to let him in, so for the moment he's stuck as a civilian.

Loki grumbled as he walked out of the school backpack slung over one shoulder and hands stuffed into his dark jeans. Sunglasses as always firmly in place. He seemed to pick up the pace as he reached the bridge. His eyes hidden behind the sunglasses were not seen, but he was watching for a certain bright red house boat to pass under the bridge.

As soon as it did he tosses his backpack onto the porch and then stuffed his hands back into his jeans and walked back toward the houses not searching for anyone in particular but he was bored as heck and wanted to bother someone. He inhaled and looked over head tilting as he spotted jay. "...the hell are you doing playing at being an old man or something gonna tell me to get off your lawn?" He knew perfectly well that jay was probably locked out again, but loki would not be loki if he did not sass pretty much everyone.

Nebula ran to her house after getting off the bus. She couldn't wait to get to home, play with her cats for a little bit, and get changed into costume. She quickly arrived home, where her mother was waiting for her with the after school snack, which today was matcha and white chocolate chip cookies.

"Thanks, Mom" Nebula said, popping one of the cookies in her mouth as one of her four cats rubbed up against her leg, greeting her home. She petted the kitty before rushing to her room to change into her costume

Titania walked all the way home from school. It wasn't that far of a walk, only four blocks, but her host parents worry what she would do in the winter. She reassured them that she would be fine as she could handle the cold weather in her homeland.

When she arrived home, the doors were locked. Her host parents had trusted her spare key in case she got home before they did. While she hadn't been in this town for that long, she happened to always arrive home not that long before they did. The moment she unlocked the door and opened it, a white Shiba Inu jumped up and licked her face

"C'est bon de te voir aussi, Sake." The young, French girl said regaining her balance. She quickly fed the dog before changing into what the kids in this town call her costume. She wondered if putting on costumes was considered normal in this new culture that she is in currently. Back home, she was always called weird for putting on a hodded robe with shoes that resembeld high heals from an old movie from the U.S. that she used to watch all time as a young child. She liked it though. And the swirl symbol on the robe reminded her of space. That was one of the many reasons why she called herself "Enfant Star" or Starchild in English

Fuyuto wasn't quite happy with the release of school. Considering that he was in the same neighborhood which was left behind. Considering that Ice Dragon was now apart of Phantom's team. No wonder his cousin preferred this litter box of crime. Slowly the young man walked towards his home sighing as he heard someone call his name. Interaction were rather uncomfortable for the boy. " Oh. Hey Matthew. I was just heading home for the night. Did you need something?"

"Yeah. Tell your cousin to stop being a fucking asshole or else we'll kick his ass." The guy said. Fuyuto nodded as if he understood. "I mean it."

"I know Matt. I'll tell him again. Though consider your warning falling upon deaf ears. Now excuse me I have things to do." He stated walked away. A few more minutes passed as the young man arrived at his house, walking to the door he went to see if it was open, granted that his adoptive parents never really locked the door. Brilliant people. Considering he was their only source of income. The boy grumbled up the stairs and dressed into his super hero outfit.

"Finally! I can wait for people to know who their real god is! Time to get a move on before Midnight gets on my god damn case for being completely late!" Eriko remarked out loud while gunning for his home. Last night all Moonshadow did was jut beat up a few delinquents. Very pathetic considering his god like powers than again the name Moonshadow has been replaced by Cat Boy once again. Such an annoying thing to hear. A left turn onto the road made the child chuckle.

No one would take his place as god. No one would be as powerful as this guy. There was only one true god in this world and his name was Moonshadow. Not some retarded name like Cat Boy. A super bullshit name created by inferior underlings. It wasn't long until his home came into view. Instantly the young man stopped in his tracks and rushed towards Kayto's for a scratching good time.

For once Keri wasn't looking forward to going home. Recently her mothers were doing nothing more than fighting. Something which the young girl was attempting to ignore. She slowly walked towards the park and noticed that one of her parents were once again crying. The family divorce papers crumbled inside her hand making a sickening feeling linger in her stomach. The child walked towards the woman, a hand outwards as if to shake to her mother, only to stop when another woman hugged her.

" So it is true. Mother Neki is cheating on mother Alice. Disgusting." The woman thought do to only signing out of Crimson Butterfly mode. She turned her figure and walked farther into the park area.

Jay had been staring at the grass now, watching the ants wandering through the newly-green spring grass. He jumped when he heard a somewhat familiar voice. "Oh, it's you." He stood and walked down the two steps to the ground, meeting Loki on the sidewalk in front of his home. "You know.. maybe. Get off my grass." While he had a small smirk on his face as he spoke, Loki would notice how quiet his voice was. Jay motioned for Loki to step onto the sidewalk, before taking a step back to sit cross-legged on the ground.

Jay tilted his head at the older boy. Curious how this one kept coming around to talk to him so often. Jay was almost starting to get used to his presence. "so, anything interesting planned for the rest of the weekend?"

As Eriko walked down the street towards Kato's house, Tori spotted him through the window while he was still a whole block away. "Phantom! It's the Cat-boy! He's approaching fast down Tree Street!"

Kato looked up at her from the map on the table. "Battle stations?"

"Got it." Without another word spoken between the two, they went to their respective spots. Tori went to the toy chest and pulled out a handful of water balloons, already filled since the last time they had been attacked. Grabbing a slingshot off the top shelf of the bookshelf, she went back to the window and took aim at the approaching threat. While she did this, Kato phased through the floor and landed on the ground below the treehouse, taking an aloof stance. He'd wait for Eriko to show up and try something before actually attacking the guy.

The bus was crowded and the seats were sticky as Carol and Henri rode home. Carol got off at Henri's stop, like normal, and the two made their way to Henri's basement as quickly as they could. Carol changed into her costume with a wave of her wand, which had been hidden in her backpack until now. The wand grew into a staff and she sat on one of the chairs that were set up around the rectangular ping-pong table in the room. A map of town was hung up on the wall by the door to the stairs, with multi-colored push-pins scattered across it in a seemingly random pattern.

Henri changed into his costume by simply stepping into a shadow, coming out the other side as Midnight, lord of darkness. He sat at the opposite end of the table from Carol, and glanced at the clock in the corner of the room. Crossing his arms and kicking his feet up onto the table, he smiled at his most trusted accomplice. "Now then my Lady Crimson, we wait once again. Where is everybody?" Carol just shrugged. She knew he was mostly just getting into character at the moment. He didn't actually do anything when people were late.

Loki snorted and rolled his eyes. "Next you're going to be shaking your fist and calling kids punks or something. Careful at this rate you'll need a walker in no time" He shook his head and gave a mocking mourning face. "Its so sad really" Sass complete he moved around Jay and plopped onto the patio steps. "Dunno"

Loki then developed the all too familiar idea face that usually had many an individual get prepared for something obnoxious. "Oh I know I will start with trying something out" He quickly stood and a shink noise was heard as his finger nails were replaced with cat like claws on his right hand. He made his way to Jay's front door and started to try to lock pick it.

The young man sighed as his breath showed in the air. A smile creeping across his face as his eyes shifted to blue. The guy placed the familiar winter coat on, just as his annoying 6 year old ‘sister’ walked into his room, without even knocking. ” Why must you come inside my room every single day? Am I just something to entertain you? Am I just something for you to torture?” The boy thought to himself as he fastened the coat up. His eyes flickered towards the girl, as if deciding on what exactly to do, before she leaned for his mask.

”Don’t touch that Emily. I keep telling you to stay out of my fucking room. If you keep entering then I’ll have no choice to but to freeze your ass. I might just flood your room with snow again as well.” The young man remarked as his hand shifted for the object.

“You wouldn’t. Mommy knows you were the one who did it.”

”No she doesn’t. She doesn’t know what I can do. Now stay out of my goddamn hair.” Fuyuto said as he finished dressing. The guy glanced at her as if daring her to touch his things. The cold touched his chest. Bad choice. Instantly the child was frozen to the object. ”Don’t ever come in here again.” The guy remarked walking out.

A few feet closer towards the tree and a distinct feeling of something wrong filled Eriko’s senses. There didn’t seem to be anyone around the place yet something didn’t quite feel right. If felt unworthy for just Eriko, the mortal to attack the tree, and not Moonshadow to take advantage of these weaklings. Not adding that last time they had some sort of defense. So how would you make them bow to someone much more powerful? Slowly his figure walked backwards for a few steps and then forwards.

”So what would make them think about switching sides and bowing to me?” He thought to himself. A few more seconds passed with the boy just standing in one place before grumbling. One case he could say he needed to speak to his cousin about something important. Hence the rushing over here. Second case would be that the young man wanted to change sides as the chaotic alliance’s hired newly hired assassin walked to the hideout. Man was getting that girl’s help harder than it seemed.

”Hey Kato I need to speak to you, Tori, and Yuto.”

Slowly she continued to walk towards her broken down home. It wouldn’t be long before the government come to take her away from here. There was so many things unfinished in this town and so little time to finish the work that was slowly turning. The young woman shook her head as she turned the door handle. No surprise that the door was locked considering both of them were supposed to be at work. The girl turned her figure to the left and walked toward the back of the house. Her hands pretending to be an airplane as she walked to the right most window. A few shifts of the boarding made the lock come undone. Thank god for crappy locks.

The child lifted the window and crawled inside, making sure to shut the window, and walked up the creaking stairs. Her figure couldn’t get her costume on fast enough making every trouble seem to disappear. She placed knives on the bottom part of the pant loops, the guns on the top parts, making the voice changer the very last thing to be pressed. Keri forced the hood down farther in order to hide her eyes. Perfect. Slowly the young woman walked towards Henri’s house just as promised. After all. A contract was a contract.

Jay watched Loki begin to try and pick the lock. "I appreciate it dude, but no way is that gonna-" He was intterupted by a clicking noise as the door unlocked, and opened slightly. "Dude, what."

He stood and walked past Loki, stepping into the house and inspecting the lock. "How is that even possible?"

As Eriko got to the tree, the Phantom stepped out of the shadow of the leaves to face him, arms crossed. As the kid spoke, He tilted his head at the 8th grader. "I don't know who you mean. I'm the Phantom."

As soon as he finished speaking, Muse fired a water balloon at Eriko, hitting the boy right in the face. She jumped down then, humming a song under her breath to slow her fall. she landed and took aim with the second balloon now. "Yuto's not here yet anyway. Leave while you can kitty."

Loki seemed more then pleased with himself as the door opened. "Kick ass. I could totally be a thief now if i wanted to." He moved inside to inspect the lock with Jay for a moment. "You know I might have to practice this a bit....how often do you get locked out again?" That familiar obnoxious expression was etched onto his face before he turned and looked around the house.

"So...you got any root beer?" His form moved about as he explored, clearly taking his time to enjoy the fact that he picked a door lock with claws. Granted he was not planning on breaking in that often, but this new found skill would totally come in handy. "Oh and what should we do now? I mean I'm not on your lawn anymore so you can't shake your fist and yell out insults at me now."

Jay sighed. "Way too often... so long as you don't break the lock I'm perfectly fine with you trying to pick it all the time." He closed the door once he was sure it was fine, turning and walking into the kitchen and pulling a bag of chips out of a cabinet. "Root beer's in the fridge, I think."

He moved to the frigde, checked, and sighed as he closed the door. "Nope. Just a sec." He disappeared through a door off the Kitchen, and came back a moment later with two glass bottles of root beer, handing one to the older kid. "I have work to do, kinda. I'm going upstairs to begin monitoring the town. You can hang out here until my dad gets home but then I gotta ask if you can stay longer." He opened his rootbeer with a bottle opener that was magneted to the fridge, and offered the tool to Loki before moving back into the living room and climbing the stairs.

The young man rolled his eyes as Phantom appeared. For once in his life he hoped that this wouldn’t have happened. Every single day this bastard tended to pop up when Kato was never around. Not adding that his bitch on the leash was probably there too. ”Purrfect. Killing two birds with one stone.” He thought just as the water balloon hit his face.

”Son of a bitch! You’re supposed to bow down to your god! Not fucking hit him with water! Which doesn’t affect me! I hope our assassin kills you assholes!” He shouted loudly. The boy grumbled shaking off the water as best as possible. ”I’m not a kitty! I’m a god!”

Loki nodded. "Okay cool. I mean I was probably gonna pick it anyway but good to know you're cool with it" He proceeded to lean against a wall while he watched Jay move around. As soon as he was handed a root beer and a bottle opener he popped the cap off and took a swig of it. "Man I love root beer." He then paused and tilted his head. "What are you emulating batman now."

Loki cleared his throat and gave a rather poor batman impression. "I am the night!" Behind his sunglasses his eyes rolled and he took another swig. "Well I got nothing else going on...two sets of eyes work better then one" He shrugged and motioned for Jay to lead the way. The longer he could stay out of the house boat the better...all those colors constantly made him not feel the best. "I am not being robin though okay bat boy"

Cecilia walked down the street. She couldn’t wait to change into her costume and try to scare Carol and Henri by sneaking into the base. The idea had only occurred to her this morning, and she found the idea of them even just flinching in suprise hilarious. She smiled as she opened her door and slipped inside the house. When she came out again, she was in her costume, already ready to see if it would actually work. She walked in the direction of Henri’s house, ready to try. When she arrived, she opened the door quietly, then tried her hardest to make herself invisible. She wasn’t exactly invisible, but she seemed to be. she wouldn’t have been noticed if no one expected to see her. She then stepped quietly inside and went down to the basement. Then, finally arriving, she let the illusion disappear, revealing herself. “ELLO.” She shouted gleefully.

"aww, did I make the wittle kitty angwy?" Muse spoke, baby-talk meant to annoy more than harm, but the longer Eriko stood there, the more he would begin to feel like his energy was being drained. He'd slow down and be too heavy to move his own body eventually.

Phantom just rolled his eyes at her. "C'mon, chill out sis. and you too dude. I don't wanna have to kick your ass."

"Dude, Batman's bogus. I'm like, the watcher." Jay said, opening the door to his room. It was Spartan, to say the least. The bare white walls only had one poster on them, a picture of an old submarine, which hung over a meticulously made bed. A dresser and a toy chest were the only other pieces of furniture in the room. Now, the room wasn't clean, no there were comic books scattered over the top of the dresser and clothes piled in the corners of the room. a couple empty bottles of root beer were stacked against the wall by the door, looking like they'd fall over if anyone opened or shut the door too carelessly.

Jay picked up one of the comic books and handed it to Loki. "This guy. He's like 'dont mess with me and i wont mess with you' and he's super powerful. I'm like him." He sat on the floor by the window, peeking through the blinds for a second before looking back at Loki. "What comic hero do you think you're like?"

Carol nearly fell out of her chair as Cecilia just suddenly appeared in the base. Midnight jumped too, but played it off by standing and approaching the girl, laughing it off. "Well, that was an entrance. Welcome, Illusionist. Take a seat."

Loki looked around the sparse room and then at the things scattered everywhere. This was the kind of room he approved of, after all his room was pretty damn sparse as well. "The watcher...because you watch stuff. Creative" As it was explained more though he simply shrugged. "Sure dude. He found a spot pretty close to jay and the window and plopped down.

Loki shrugged at the question. "I don't know. One of the many random ass superhero out there that you recall maybe once and completely forget probably. Or maybe someone cool like martian manhunter or something. No idea never thought about it" He leaned back and then grumbled. "Ugh I swear it gets so hard to see with these damned sunglasses" He made no move to remove them though, as if he was actually self conscious about his eyes. "You know I still don't see the point in that whole alias..thing." He really didn't. His whole power was becoming something completely different, so why would he even bother. He took a swig of that root beer and peered out the window.

” Sorry about my cousin Phantom. He’s always been up tight but I still say he would make a great hero.” Fuyuto said as he crept towards the small group. ” Sorry for being late. Had to freeze the river back there. Hoping it will unfreeze some time soon before a certain boat living citizen gets home.” He explained coldly.

”Son of a bitch! Why is the turncoat here!? Wasn’t changing sides bad enough!?”

”Nope. I live to make cat boy’s life a terrible existence. Better get in gear there kitty cat. Or else you master might become furious.” The boy said with a smirk. Eriko grumbled as he walked away. Granted the ‘god’ would fall towards the ground due to ground due to some black ice. ”Oops. My bad. I forgot to warn you about the ice. Than again you were scampering away so meh.”

The young cousin jerked upwards and hissed. ” You’re getting on your god’s nerves. I can’t wait to feel your life slip from my paws.” He mentioned walking away to his home.

Cecilia’s smile grew wider at the sight of Carol nearly falling to the floor. She was sure it wouldn’t work, but she was glad it did. She did as she was told and took a seat. “So.. is everyone else late, or is it just us?” She asked.

"everyone else is just late. It's fine.." Carol picked herself up and dusted off her outfit, the bright red outfit shimmering with magic as she did. She picked up her staff off the table and looked to Henri, a small smile appearing on her face. "I'm gonna go find them, now that it really is getting past time. Before Midnight could say anything, she opened a magic portal and left. He crossed his arms, thinking for a moment before returning to his seat at the head of the table.

"I'm just gonna wait, I can make them pay later for keeping us waiting." He smiled at the girl, dual-tone eyes seeming way too warm for the lord of darkness. "Which reminds me, what side of town do you want to mess with tonight? I'm currently thinking we'll split the group into pairs and cause some chaos. Phantom and Friends can't possibly keep up with all of us."

"Hey Dragon. You're kinda late. Welcome. Phantom tilted his head to the side at the two cousin's interaction. As Cat-boy turned to leave, he said to Yuto: "What kind of god is a cat?"

Tori let the Water balloon fly, landing on the grass a few feet away, where it popped and slashed the three of them. "Shoot! my aim slipped... Sorry guys."

"Martian Manhunter is the bomb." Jay said immediately, going silent for a minute after as Loki continued to talk. "Well, you don't want other supers to know who you are unless you trust them, so you should have a codename. I'm the Mediator. There's nothing about him that could tie hime to me other than our voices. But, i don't talk to other people much anyway so it's not like they'll ever make that connection."

"I could come up with a name for you." The white-haired boy finished his rootbeer and threw it across the room at the tower of them, sending them all crashing down. "...shoot I forgot. I'll put it back together later." He glanced out the window and thought for a moment, before his eyes lit up. "How about shifter? or like, the name of an animal in some other language, like Zorro or Kuma?"
