After Microsoft's E3 Presentation and the little tease they gave to the community, it has me craving for a Halo RP. Two ideas come to mind. If there is interest in both them, I shall create both of them.

Halo: Return to Requiem

The Second Battle of Requiem, also known as the Requiem Campaign by the UNSC, was a major space and ground battle between the UNSC and a coalition of the Covenant and Promethean forces.

Background

After the First Battle of Requiem the UNSC Infinity returned to Earth. Andrew Del Rio was stripped of his position as captain of the warship, and the newly promoted Captain Lasky took his place. Six months after the Ur-Didact's attack on New Phoenix, Infinity was ordered to return to Requiem by FLEETCOM. Several new Spartan and Marine fire teams were deployed to Infinity along with hundreds of engineers and scientists.

The Beginning

Shortly before 0500 hours on February 7, 2558, UNSC Infinity emerged from slipspace in the midst of a Covenant fleet, plowing through a RCS-class armored cruiser before the Covenant could react. Infinity then launched her complement of Strident-class heavy frigates and hundreds of Broadsword fighters, which were engaged by Seraph fighters. Infinity began preparing a strike force for deployment to the interior surface of Requiem. Hundreds of Scorpions and Warthogs were loaded onto Pelican dropships, plus dozens of Spartan and Marine fireteams. As soon as enough Covenant ships had been cleared to make a clean shot for Requiem's portal to its interior, the ground forces were deployed in a massive invasion. As the waves of ground forces continued to swarm into Requiem, Infinity and her frigate escorts pushed the Covenant fleet back and secured a UNSC foothold above Requiem.

Objective

We'll play as Havoc Squad. Depending on how the majority feels; we can play as either Marines/ODST or Spartans. Regardless, Havoc Squad will be tasked in aiding the removal of Jul 'Mdama's Covenant and the Promethean forces that populate Requiem's interior surface.

Halo: Nightowls

"But even among this collection of steadfast soldiers there were a select few with a bond deeper than the others could ever begin to imagine, as these unique IIIs were a secret even to their peers."

Background

The Headhunter was a classified special operations program conducted by the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) and the Spartan Branch. Candidates would be placed in binary or lone wolf teams. They were sent far behind enemy lines on near suicide mission in hopes that their efforts would greatly impact the enemy.

The original headhunters program was comprised of SPARTAN-IIIs who had survived rigorous training sessions at specialist camps on the far side of Onyx. They were then paired up with another SPARTAN-III from the program. These SPARTAN-IIIs would then perform missions far behind enemy lines and would likely die in combat.

During the war, two teams were deployed to an unknown moon to prepare it for a full fledged UNSC assault. Both teams were killed in the process, fighting off the Covenant.

As well, some headhunters, like Jun-A266, tracked and assassinated Insurrectionist leaders that continued to provoke the UNSC despite the threat of the Covenant.

The Program underwent various changes after the war. With the creation of the SPARTAN-IVs, ONI and the new Spartan Branch created a very select list of SPARTAN-III and IV operatives who could be called upon when they were needed.

Objective

This RP will consist of us playing as team of SPARTAN-IVs known as Nightowls; a group comprised of several teams of Headhunters that have been tasked to investigate a hidden ONI research station located within the outer territory space that has gone recently gone dark.

@Slim Dicken Nightowls seems interesting. I do have a few ideas that could provide the story with a tad more flair, one of which I've toyed around with ever since Halo 4 was released. Regardless, though, I'm interested.

Hello there everyone, I am interested in the RP and would also be happy to lend any assistance with writing the story. I was running a Halo RP very recently but it fell through.

@Otaku95 I would appreciate any contributions. Nightowls is vague at the moment to allow some mystique for later. Feel free to pm me, I would love to hear your ideas.
@Andromedai Most definitely, thank you. I would love that. Again, feel free to pm me with ideas.

Most definitely.

As I understand it the various classes of SPARTANS

IV in G2 MJOLNIR = II in G1 MJOLNIR
IV in G2 MJOLNIR < II in G2 MJOLNIR
III is the weakest in any armor

The last one isn't strictly true. Depending on their genes, S-IIIs can be on par with other Spartans. Noble Team, for example, had similar genes to the original SPARTAN-IIs. Given a set of MJOLNIR, they're roughly as strong as their predecessors. Hell, in SPI armor at about ten years old, Alpha, Beta, and Gamma companies were able to kill Elites in close-quarters and hand-to-hand combat, and with their own Energy Swords, no less. The members of Saber Team were able to dodge Sentinel Lasers without MJOLNIR as well.

IV in G2 MJOLNIR = II in G1 MJOLNIR
halo.wikia.com/wiki/SPARTAN-IV_program
An average SPARTAN-IV in GEN2 Mjolnir Armor can fight on par with an average SPARTAN-II in GEN1 Mjolnir due to the GEN2 armor being more advanced. However, without armor, SPARTAN-IIs are vastly superior to Spartan IVs.
members.shaw.ca/laird2/temp/derp/inte… (time code: 1:15 - 2:10)
gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2…

IV in G2 MJOLNIR < II in G2 MJOLNIR
If the above is true then with equal equipment II is superior.

III is the weakest in any armor should read III in G1 MJOLNIR = II in G1 MJOLNIR
@Otaku95 was right.
Even though most of the Spartan-III's were given SPI armor due to budgetary reasons, the small number that did receive Mjolnir armor were either on par or better than the Spartan-II's.

halo.wikia.com/wiki/Halo:_Reach_ViDoc…
Halo: Reach game

Now that I researched it better and removed my just plan dislike of the IIIs it should is like this:
IV in G2 MJOLNIR = II in G1 MJOLNIR
IV in G2 MJOLNIR < II in G2 MJOLNIR
IV in G2 MJOLNIR = III in G1 MJOLNIR
IV in G2 MJOLNIR < III in G2 MJOLNIR
II in G1 MJOLNIR = III in G1 MJOLNIR
II in G2 MJOLNIR = III in G2 MJOLNIR
III in SPI armor < any in MJOLNIR

In other words the IVs are the worst. Did not realize that.

Most of my info comes from Halopedia and Ghosts of Onyx, as well as Halo: Reach. Admittedly it's been a few years since I've read/played either.

@Burning Kitty

The IV are the worst. Without a doubt I would say III are still better than IV even with their advanced technology if put face to face. I goes like this:

Marines=>ODST=>IV=>I=III=>II if they all had the same gear.

The biggest reasons is the IVs are just normal people given some cool tech, very minor augments, and advanced training. Using technology to get just close as the other two programs. As stated on the wiki "Still cannot produce similar results without risk of a high failure rate, due to the lack of genetic requirements. This drawback is reconciled by modifying the individual to the closest margin possible of the two previous Spartan programs ". IIIs are not legendary unstoppable beast's as the IIs with dangerous augmentation and trained since children. The IIIs were still trained when still children and receive light augmentation, but didn't get the fancy tech(Besides Noble which were basically Spartan IIs) which is what truly set them apart. They were bullets, meant to engage the target and not return.

TLDR: Spartan IIIs are close to IIs if equipped correctly. Spartans IV are only better than IIIs because of their new tech since they live in a separate time. A III with Gen 2 armor is almost as good as a Spartan II with Gen 1 . Spartan II with Gen 1 still trump all regardless.

Lots of I in this post.

EDIT: What I put here is all fact and there is lot of Variables that make them better or worse than each other. Like the Spartan II are all old folks now. Way out of their Prime. The IIIs for the most part never got Mjolnir and are old at this point as well. The IV's currently are the 'best' because they're just more new. But if we compare them all with the same thing. The scaling list is accurate.

According to Halopedia and a couple other sources, Spartan IV's in MJOLNIR GEN 2 armor allow them to keep up with Spartan II's.

I would hope most the Spartan IV could keep up with the 45 year old Master chief. I'll have to edit my post to mention it, but I wanted to compare them in a very balanced way. For example if we forget Gen 1 of the armor or the time piece of the conception of the others, the list still doesn't change since it's the armor that even lets the IV's compete with the others. Besides the age thing I think any of the Spartan II and IIIs in their prime still are gods compared to the IVs.

Return to Requiem would be mainly SPARTAN IVs. Unless, the majority decides they rather have characters as marines or ODST. Nightowls would be SPARTAN IIIs and IVs.

The rest of the conversation can proceed else where.

@Thecrash20 Are you expressing interest in either of the stories?

If I can’t play as a 2 I’ll have to drop.

That is assuming a 2 is in the original armor. If a 2 is in the same armor as a 4 the 4 can’t keep up.
