The orcish woman could only sigh as the attempted distraction likely failed when her forgotten guest, Ano, had stepped out from her base to cast a spell onto the cyclops. The woman wasn't sure if the spell worked or not, but as soon as Ano appeared everyone else started attacking the beast. She was highly against fighting such a creature here, however there was little choice in the matter. Nearly all of her supplies and materials were inside of her hideout and if it was abandoned or worse, destroyed, her chances of survival plummet. If nothing else, she'd rather risk fighting this monstrosity over surviving without her supplies. Gripping her bardiche the orcish woman took a running jump off the roof top, her body poised to impale the tip of her blade pass the armor of the beast. However this cyclops was no mere brute; though he was attacked from many sides by weapons and spells, his first reaction was not to simply roar in pain (Though he did to that) but to hunker down and prepare for more assaults. Thanks to this the woman's blade failed to find any soft flesh, and even as she tried to smash the other end of her polearm into skin, it wasn't enough to scratch the thick hide.

Standing on the shoulder of the giant the woman knew she needed to make space again. More importantly, she can't let the beast strike down either herself or the others with her; even if they had the high ground the monster was more than large enough to try and smash them with his club or grab them. She needed to cut him down to size. So dashing across his shoulders the orcish woman showed off her skills and experience, using her staff to provide her extra leverage to kick the cyclops on the side of the head. But this kick wasn't meant to necessarily harm him, but to throw him off balance as he stumbled from the sudden and powerful blow, falling down onto his back. This kick also served a secondary purpose to propel the orcish woman towards the other side of the street, allowing her to just barely make it onto the rooftop of her hideout.

"Fuck, if we got to kill him make it quick! The longer we fight him the more attention that'll draw and I'm not sticking around to fight more trogs!"

No... no... no... No-No-No-No! NO! STORMS NO! Echoed through the Kobold's mind. That small amount of trust she had built up for the barbarian quickly was stomped out by a massive wave of anxiety once the new arrival did her thing. Her claws quickly shot up to her head as she watched this mess quickly devolve into an actual fight against the damned beast! It might not be so intimidating to the others... being twice her size. But that thing could easily stuff her into his jaws and kill her just by chewing! It's not fair! Storms above, why must her dead companions be replaced by huge idiots!

Regardless... she can't just run away. While they might not need her, she certainly needs them to make it out of this hell hole. And running away with her tail between her legs was not an option with the Troglodytes nearby.

She wanted to scream at them, scream very unkind things. But now wasn't the time for scolding. She hurriedly turned to her belt and ripped off an Oil flask. A flurry of hysterical profanities escaped her lips while she flipped the bottle to hold it by the neck. She heaved it back and threw it out, aiming to splash the bottle under the creature's feet.

"WATCH FOR OIL," she called out in a warning. Both her hands now moved to quickly draw her weapons from their sheath. The first one that came out was tossed into the air and caught behind herself in the other hand. The second came out with a flourished twirl ready for combat.

Roy was left dumbstruck by the actions of the new arrival that willingly confronted the gigantic brute. Stunned to the point that all of his companion had already acted to bring down the beast. The plan was foiled even before the cyclopes could move a distance away from the orc woman's base. 'Dammit all to the nine hells!' Roy scowled in frustration before drawing his flintlock pistol and took aim at the prone form of the beast. Creatures as big as this cyclopes would have difficulty in attempting to get up. Roy would make it even more difficult for it to regain it's footing. He levels the pistol in his hand and with a thunderous roar of the gun. The bullet darts out of the muzzle at near supersonic speeds, before finding its mark upon the left calf of the giant.

The surprise attack bombarded the cyclops all at once. The javelin, the magic, the bullet, all made the beast frantic and worried. He had been used to getting ambushed by faster, swifter prey like the trogs and the occasional hunters, however this would be the first time in a long time that the cyclops would have to contend with true adventurers. But it would not go down so easily. After being knocked prone and taking a bullet, the cyclops worked his way back onto his feet. The kobold's oil gave the cyclops a moment of difficulty, but ultimately the beast rose back onto his feet. There were many enemies around him, and so he had to go after whoever he felt could be the most easily slain. unlike most of his kin, he knew the value of armor; indeed this knowledge is what allowed him to don steel. Just as well he knew that the smaller creatures who wear metal were more difficult to harm than those who didn't; it would be them the ocular beast would target first.

The cyclops' first strike when towards Roy, as his gun's roar gave the beast the impression that he would be the most dangerous. The monster's gargantuan giant club slammed into the roof of the ruins near Roy, before the beast dragged the bludgeon across the rooftops to crush the marksman. But Roy wasn't the only target; the kobold was also in the path of getting crushed by the beast's giant bludgeon, crushing her underneath as the cyclops continued to show more surprises; after it had used it's greater reach to smash the two with it's club, the cyclops began to move through the streets, taking cover behind some of the larger ruins so that the rest of the party couldn't get a clear shot on him without also following or waiting on him. For a monster of it's size and strength, it was showing a shred of tactical acumen.

Ano

Why her spell didn't affect the beast puzzled her, but now was not the time to dwell such things. People were getting hurt, something that Ano absolutely could not tolerate. She rushed towards the beast with nary a thought for her own safety, reaching out for it's skin with a glowing relic in hand as she channeled her divine powers for an attack she was positive would work. "Away from them foul beast!" With a furious cry, she pressed the burnt steel into the beast's flesh, instantaneously rotting the flesh of it's leg as Ano cast Inflict Wounds. "Knock this bastard down again!" Hopefully someone would capitalize on this and knock the beast on it's ass before it could do anymore harm.

Thokk

Despite not knowing Lilt that well Thokk had no intention of standing by as she was killed, especially since she tried to fight against a creature clearly out of her league. Since he also wanted to keep his potion of healing a secret there was only one thing he could think of doing. He walked up to the injured Kobold picked her up and threw her in the direction of some rubble. hoping his actions wouldn't worsen her injuries and that she could use the rubble as cover.

Raugar

Despite his pride and training, Raugar couldn't help but cringe as the cyclops retaliated. It's club descended with the weight of an avalanche, smashing into the ruins Roy was occupying and sweeping through. It's range was incredible. He couldn't see the man in the rubble and had no idea if he'd survived. Lilt seemed to be moving but looked badly hurt.

The ground trembled as it repositioned itself behind cover, but Raugar wasted no time chasing after it with another battlecry. The stranger was already there, attacking with a bright light that opened deep wounds in it's leg. Raugar went for the opposite limb, funnelling as much of his own power as he could into his blade as he buried it in the creatures flesh. He tried to position himself so that between them they were blocking as much of the path back down the street as possible. He shouted back to the orc, asking whether they could escape through the hideout, but the answer was a negative. In that case, the best he could do was try and buy time for the group to rally.

As the others went to fight the cyclops, the orc didn't feel that their chances were looking good. She jumped her way down the ruins, going from one safe elevation down to the next, before rushing inside of her hideout to grab as much essential equipment as she could. She didn't even bother telling the others what she was doing or why she was doing it. As far as she was concerned the moment that crazy cleric stepped out and attacked the cyclops this whole operation was blown to bits, and she still had things to live for. Once she finished she stepped out from her hideout and looked to the others, giving them one final farewell. "Unless you can drive this thing away, even if you kill it trogs will be swarming this place in minutes! Get out of here if you don't want to be ass deeps in those shit-smelling freaks!"

Angus MacAlister

Angus had no words to describe the complete idiocy that was unfolding before him. What was supposed to be a simple lure away and sneak in affair had turned into a complete disaster. Why the woman thought it would be a good idea to jump out and attack something as dangerous as a cyclops was beyond Angus. But once the big bastard demonstrated its strength on two of his companions, Angus stopped trying to make sense of the senseless and began to run the rooftop back towards the temple. "The daft cow's blown the gaff!" Angus called out "Run while ye still can! And if yer still in one piece by the end o' this, regroup at the temple!".

Lilt... made one of the gravest mistakes any adventurer could make. Freeze. She watched in horror as the club swiped in an arc with her in the path. She didn't even move... not till it had already collided with her body and sent her tiny form hurtling into the ground she was standing on violently, bounce up and cart wheel in the air. She landed roughly on her arms and knees.

She felt nothing at first. Confused, she tried to stand. And made a pained and violent gag. She teetered as she sputtered blood. Gravity threatened to make her its dirty little mistress and pull her to the ground for good. But... a kobold's will is stronger than such natural forces. And miraculously, she pushed her self back to her feet. Her breathing had been reduced to a rattling wheeze, as she stumbled about in place.

A moment later, and she found herself being thrown across the gap and landed harshly behind rubble in a roll. She looked up to the orc with a hint of annoyance, but said nothing. The intent was appreciated none the less. As she rose back to her feet once again, she took note of everything going on around her. First the Orc bailing, after collecting some things from the hideout. Then the human barbarian absconding.

She got the message, and she wasn't about to dally. With a pained grunt she spun and took a step... about to make her leave herself. She paused and glanced regretfully back to the two still by the orc. More specifically... the Paladin, as the other had already earned her ire.

Her gaze shifted to her own pitiful state and back to the paladin. And with a regretful grimace, she turned her attention to the Cyclops ready to make a gamble. She climbed down the building, taking the safest path possible. She made a hacking cough before raising her voice loud enough to be heard by the cyclops...

"Koboldssssss... dissslike competition with cyclopssss.... they've alwaysss had their eye on the prize." She visibly grimaced to her own joke. They were never her strongest point... but unfortunately she had to come up with something on the fly.

She spun about and darted off in the direction of the temple, taking a route that would break line of sight with the monster in case her attempt to give them a chance to escape did not work. But she'd stay close enough for the paladin to catch up.

The brute's cudgel found its mark as it swung and Roy was sent flying like a rag doll a short distance across the roof he was upon. Every part of his body hurt and screamed in protest as he stood up. Pieces of broken glass and wood had found themselves on his body. And while most were unable to pierce his hardened leather armor, a splint of wood found a softer spot in the armor and jutted awkwardly from his side. Roy's ears rung as everything around him seemed to blur and bleed and once he finally regained his senses, the orc woman and the barbarian had began running from the fight. That was not a good sign at all. 'If we are running, we need to make sure that Cyclopes won't come looking for us.' He thinks to himself before holstering his pistol and grabbing his loaded musket from the side of his pack before moving to another roof across the giant, but with a better spot for the musketeer to shoot the armored cyclopes. With that armor protecting the brute's head, it was unlikely that the bullet would pierce such thick armor. It's eye however, was not.

An enemy that could not see them, cannot pursue them.

Taking a breath in, Roy roars out to the Cyclopes. "Begone, fiend!" His voice reverberates within the small combat area. His voice, carrying both hatred and hope, fosters resilience among his party mates. Roy levels the musket and takes aim at the vulnerable eye of the giant; hoping that his aim was steady and the bullet would find its mark before pulling the trigger and letting the musket let out a thunderous roar of its own.

Even as the cyclops took to cover, the puny little mortals continued to harry it, moving around to shoot it or chasing him down to hurt him with magic. Roy's bullet shattered against the rim of the Cyclops's helmet, failing to strike his eye but he did manage to pepper the cyclops's face with metal fragments, which was just as effective. However it's eye seemed as thick and tough as it's own hide as all this did was make the beast roar in pained fury. Not helped by the two divine warriors at it's heels using magic and steel to chop apart it's legs. though hurting the beast could still fight, and didn't intend to let these mortals end him. He smashed his club towards the armored paladin first, before taking both hands to his club to smash the largest end down onto the cleric, hoping to crush her into a chunky paste.

Ano

Ano swiftly dodged out of the way of the ogre as it tried to turn her into a bright red stain on the ground. She had hurt it for sure, but the beast was still going strong regardless. Already several people were looking to be on the verge of death, the only exception being her who was untouched. Her eyes were steeled, she knew what she had to do. "GO! I'LL HOLD HIM BACK, YOU NEED TO RUN!" She layed her hands on the beast one more, channeling necrotic energy into its legs as she tried to keep its attention.

Thokk

Thokk hated to admit it but the newcomer was right. The only way he could think think up to deal enough damage to maybe take the cyclops was for him to use prismatic orb and light the oil the kobold threw on fire, and not only was there no guarantee of it working with the newcomer and Raugar that close to the monster it was too dangerous. While keeping an eye on the cyclops Thokk backed away from it at decent speed.

Raugar

The Beast evidently did not like them hacking away at its legs. It swatted with its club, which descended swiftly. Raugar couldn't entirely avoid it in his heavy armour. He braced and tried to shield himself with his blade as it came crashing towards him. He felt the blow's impact through his whole body as it glanced off him, knocking him back, with him only just managing to keep his balance. I can't take another hit like that he realised grimly as he felt his legs wobble from the trauma. It seemed a consensus to retreat had been reached. The others were falling back to the temple. Beside him, the cleric urged him to run, volunteering to stay behind and hold the cyclops at bay.

Flee, whilst others remain?.. Never! he thought, straightening himself up. He was still on his feet and that meant he was still in the fight. He was no coward, he was a knight! He came to Nurn to prove he had the heart of a conqueror. How could he turn and run whilst another continued to pit themselves against such a mighty foe? What meaning would his oaths have then? His pride wouldn't allow it. As long as another soul was brave enough to stand their ground, he could never turn his back! "I won't let a stranger lay down their life for my sake, Lady. I won't leave anyone behind!"

His legs recovered, and though it felt heavier than it had a moment ago, his sword burned with new resolve, and he brought it round in a great two handed sweep at the creatures leg.

The Orc didn't share any words or camaraderie with the others as they continued to fight the cyclops. Win or lose, this base was lost; either the cyclops will kill them and rampage, or they'll somehow slay the beast and attract a horde of trogs to overrun them. Either way the orcish woman ran the opposite direction, though she didn't seem to be heading towards the temple. But before anyone could really see or ask where she'd be going, the orcish woman turned a corner and vanished out of sight. Only her footsteps indicated where she might've been, and in the cacophony of combat even those sounds were getting drowned out.

Lilt... drew a sharp hiss when she saw the Cyclops weapon smack the paladin hard. This definitely wasn't good. Why wouldn't they both just disengage and run!? Why wouldn't he just leave her?! And more importantly, the kobold must ask herself, why hasn't she left the other two behind? Oh right... it was because she certainly needed the paladin. At least she hopes that's what she actually believes.

Still... the foolish nature of both of their actions was inspiring enough. Admitably, the both of them. Fool hardy, but brave and loyal to someone they've just met.

The kobold drew in a low whimper, as she began to test her own resolve. She was hurting all over, and the troglodytes were on the approach. She... was going to give this one final try. The third time is the charm... right? Maybe she can actually be useful with this last attempt. If not... well one of them were likely going to bite the dust.

She made sure that she was able to maintain cover, and had an idea of a nice... tiny hole to dive into should things go horribly wrong. She pointed to the Paladin, and hailed him. Her typical soft hissing voice came out with an echoing crack like a boom of thunder.

"SHINE BRIGHTLY ONCE MORE, AND GLORY SHALL BE YOURS!" The small lizard's words were certainly inspiring. Quite like, and pretty literally, they were drawing a latent power fueled by morale.

Once more... the kobold prepared her spell. She'd wait till the Cyclops began to make his play, before sending out one final Hideous Laughter, hoping for a clutch. She hated this damn spell so much. Language barriers were a non-issue with it... but... it required her to do something sily. Jokes weren't cutting it. So... time for desperation. The kobold flipped her dusacks about so they were pointing towards the ground. She slipped the handles into her jaws, making them into oversize fangs. And gave the worlds worse... and perhaps most embarrassing impression of a Vampire. Or maybe it was a bulimic runt of a walrus doing some sort of dance routine. What ever it was, it was pretty ballsy. And offensive to something.

Storms... I hope no one is seeing this.

Retreat whilst leaving an ally behind to fend off against this monster? Roy'd sooner denounce the king and queen and declare himself renegade! Pulling out another cartridge, he reloads his musket and takes aim at the cyclopes' eye yet again. The previous shot had struck the beast on the side of its helm, perhaps now that the cyclopes had been thoroughly distracted by the paladin and the cleric, his bullet will hit it's mark; or at the very least give advantage on his allies attacks against the beast. 'King and Queen, give me power to fell this monster!' He thought to himself as he lets the bullet fly.

Multiple blow bombarded the ogre all at once, the two pesky holy warriors at his legs being a particular nuisance. The paladin slashed his sword deep into the cyclops's exposed ankle, hacking right into bone and causing a violent gush of blood to shower the conqueror. The cleric's necrotic touch rotted the Cyclop's other leg as the chains that kept it's makeshift shinguard together rusted and shattered under the strain. The cyclops fell to his knees from the sheer damage, but didn't intend to go down quite so easily. He hefted his club up, smashing it downwards towards the two warriors at his feet. But as the beast was slamming downwards, Roy's bullet flew between the helmet's visor and right into the eye of the beast. It ripped through the membrane of the eye, bouncing around inside of the giant's thick skull, and generally tearing apart the giant from the inside out. Blood spilled forth to once more shower the warriors in blood and gore, and the beast threaten to crush them. But not with his club, but with his corpse.

The body falls still as the beast was slain. Still there was no time to celebrate; already the sound of trogs screaming in the distance to alert their kin could be heard. There was no telling when they would arrive to swarm this place and no doubt feast upon the cadaver of this mighty beast. Most of the armor and metal plates on the giant appeared rusted and cheap, but there were a few that seemed suspiciously prestine despite the cyclope's lack of upkeep. There was a reflective breastplate that served as a part of a pauldron, and a small buckler that seemed to have some sort of mechanism attached to it. On the waistband of the cyclops also appeared to be a makeshift sack made of unknown hide. And of course, there was the orc's original hideout free for the taking. Aoi would know that the orc had brewed various potions and drugs there, and she might've not have taken all of them.
