I'm fine with either, but from my experiences, the discord is just for players to chat and hang out. Any RP related discussions, decisions and notifications should always be put on the OOC.

It's also a good tool for playing around with characters in a non-Canon setting.

Okay, gonna level with all of you, I am perfectly fine with having a Discord for just non-sensical OOC ramblings but yeah, all serious discussion should go in the OOC. I'm only worried because in the last game it got to the point where we'd go months without a post in the OOC and oh look last activity there was one of my dumb AU stories no one reads.

@Shard Well, that's a complicated topic.

Metahuman abilities come from the titans interbreeding with mankind thousands of years ago. From this union came demi-titans, who went on to further mix with mortals. Fast forward to 2000 AD, and the return of magic begins to agitate the long dormant titan DNA that is present in about five percent of the human population.

As for who the titans were, that's a bit of a story I'll elaborate on in the main thread. Suffice it to say, they're immensely long-lived and powerful beings tasked with overseeing life-bearing planets. Some, however, lose their way and think themselves Gods, and toy with the lives of mortals as they see fit.

People, be real - the discussion that would take here a day and require constant refreshing to see if there's anything new here would take about an hour in discord. In my experience, games died far more often on forums than in discord, purely because someone fell off the map and no-one is sure if they're just deciding to post another day.
Tl;dr: faster communication is better than slower one.

Well, either way the argument is: Mindless IMing Vs RP Focus. Let's keep this shit one hundred. It don't matter if the damn OOC on the site don't get posts.

What matters is these:

1. People actually getting their characters up.

2. Posts consistently being put up in the IC.

Them two things right there are what makes the RP live on and reach legendary status. I don't see too much of an issue with folks chatting it up, though, there is remembering why the discord would be made in the first place: This RP.

What really kills RPs is this trend to procrastinate the fuck outta the posts in the thread. We all did it at least a couple times, don't lie.

So, recapping in my humble opinion - insta communication is cool, so long as everybody keeps focused. Chat is a fun side thing, but the RP should be the main thing in a roleplay related discord server tho.

Well, poking people to go post in IC via discord works wonders, in my experience.
As does playing it on Discord and then posting the pretty-fied logs in IC.

I agree, even though it has been four days since this was first posted, I think the sooner we start the better. That way the character ideas and interest people have shown in this thread so far remains fresh.
