Ryusei is roughly 5'8" tall, and generally wears light-fitting equipment to maintain both speed and mobility. - Personality: Though he may seem like a 'battle junkie' at times, Ryusei actually finds the most enjoyment in exploring the world. Guides and explanations be damned; unless it becomes threatening to the point of impossibility, he prefers to handle situations by ear and poke around to his heart's content. With that being said, he is rather affable (though a bit hardheaded at times), and is willing to offer a hand whenever necessary. He might complain if something is too simple or easy, though, but beyond that, Ryusei does generally finishes anything he starts.
- History: Ryusei grew up fairly close to a martial arts dojo; of course, his attendance as a young child was a given, and he picked up the skills required to pursue his current abilities in bajiquan over the course of the next decade. Leaving for college meant that he had to practice to maintain his skills without a dedicated place to train though. That, coupled with his increasing studies, only served to make his pursuits all the more difficult (a gym, after all, could only do so much). The release of Visions of Elysium, of course, gave him an alternative to having to travel half a mile to the nearest alternative. Though it wouldn't affect his physical body, the effective 'image training' would go a long way—at least, in his eyes—to maintaining form for the future. Of course, given that it was a game, he wasn't about to lose the chance to use it as a way to kick back and have fun in the middle of all his classes.
- Skills:
- Bajiquan Mastery: Proficient in bajiquan; fighting in this style applies a passive defense piercing effect to all attacks. Aggro generation is a toggle.
- Elemental Enchant: Ability to temporarily enchant objects with elements. At its current level, Ryusei can imbue them with either fire, ice, lightning, or earth, with varying effects for each, for a short amount of time.
- Qi Manipulation: Can use qi to heal, recover stamina, or strengthen defenses. Qi naturally regenerates over time, and cannot be recovered by means of standard potions.
- Cooking Mastery: Adds bonuses to food cooked manually. Additionally, adds a small passive to identify higher quality ingredients, as well as marking rare ingredients in the field.
- Equipment: Other than the clothes that he wears, Ryusei primarily uses a set of gloves for combat. If he needs to maintain distance, he switches to a spear instead, but he has nowhere near as much proficiency with armaments as he does without. Neither, at this point of time, is of any note.
- Other: Is generally well-stocked on ingredients. Thankfully for him, hammerspace inventories also means that things don't spoil when stashed away.

'Raza's' avatar appears as a young woman standing just above five four. She has dark skin, with two hard horns protruding from her head with pointed, elfin like ears hidden under long black hair. She wears an ornamental bow and crown. - Personality:
A playful and impish person. Raza likes people, and likes being around people. A people person through and through, energetic, and honestly, kinda a ditz at times. Unlike a lot of people, she doesn't take almost anything seriously and is honestly, just here to have a good time doing whatever she pleases. Likes causing small bits of harmless mischief for those around her.
Often gets herself into trouble by forgetting that she needs a party if she wants 'loot' from a dungeon and is too impatient to find a party, but otherwise, is an all around friendly person. - History:
Raza doesn't particularly talk a lot about her life outside of Elysium, preferring to keep a somewhat strict separation of the two. What most people can glean though, is that she's a college kid pursuing a degree in history, archaeology, and mythological studies, who just so happens to dabble in film studies as a hobby, with a preference for movies of the spooktacular nature. She does state this is the only video game she plays, and has never played one before now.
In Elisium, Raza has a somewhat mixed reputation. Having started as a low level character pursuing Smithing, she eventually found a series of quests that led her down a rabbit hole of heretical gods and spooky cult-like temples and dungeons, immediately falling in love with the rather lovecraft-esque designs of these quests.
After that, she became fairly well known as a maker of fairly high quality weapons compared to both their quality and her own level, evening opening up a shop near the starting city where she can peddle her questionable wares to newcomers who are completely ignorant of the fact she can, and will, put rather dubious curses on weapons for giggles. She can often be found at the shop when playing, hammering away at her crafting skills, if not out adventuring or poking around dungeons. - Skills:
Overall, Raza's skills have focused on two things: Crafting and Magical ability.
Eldritch Forging
A skill denoting some proficiency with smithing and using eldritch energy to imbue an item made with special properties. The source of her great smithing is inherently a power that mortals can not get along with inherently. Any item she makes because of this will have its powers greatly boosted, however, any will also have a powerful curse instilled in them equivalent to the strength of whatever boon they carry. Earning the favor of these entities is not an easy task.
Heretic's Contract:
A sort of ritualistic prayer, asking a particular being to manifest their power. Typically used with her Forging, but perhaps other uses exist. Only those beings neither 'demon' nor 'god' will answer. Conversely, at times, perhaps the entities might meddle with her themselves for whatever reason.
Emla's Pyromancy
A variation of Fire magic that comes with debuffs. Taking a bright green hue, these flames burn with an otherworldly, almost enthralling power. Hasn't put much focus into training it yet, however.
Material identification A skill simply allowing one to identify the properties of materials and weapons at a glance. A simple identify item skill. Allows even observing equipment on others.
Abyssal Magic:
While she does carry a hammer, she's primarily a mage at the core of her build. Made up mostly of hexes, curses, and a few illusions.
Polearm Training
She has trained somewhat well with polearms, and tends to favor them should she engage in melee. Increases damage dealt with polearm type weapons. - Equipment:
Ardent Rust Hammer:
-Armor corrosion/weakening/piercing to foes
-Inflict a constantly increasing, Unremoveable, Burn status to the wielder while equipped.
A weapon imbued with the power of Emla-ulxe, and Raza's main armament. Allows fine control over magic, whilst also functioning as a decently effective melee weapon. A long polearm type weapon, with a fairly hefty hammer on one end, with a large spike on behind it meant for impaling enemies. It's an otherworldly, bright color of red and made of a hard, dense metal with copper finishing.
Taking after the destruction twin Ulxe, the weapon corrodes and breaks things it touches...even the user will suffer extreme caustic burns if used for extended periods.
Luminescent Moon-dipped staff
-Inflict 'Slow' status to everyone in a few meter radius
-Inflict blind status to self
Aside from being a general magical catalyst that strengthens magic, it alters ones perception of the flow of time. Illusion based psuedo-time magic. Effectively makes the user appear to be moving far faster than they are to affected people in a certain radius around the staves range.
However, as with everything she makes with her forging abilities, the staff carries a particular curse with it. When used, ones physical sight is blurred, becoming blind for the duration of the staffs particular ability making one require another method to 'see'.
The staff itself is made of an oddly smooth white stone with small plants seemingly growing from it. An orb filled with an opaque, white liquid situated on top of the otherwise plain staff. At times, a bluish white glow can be seen from within.
Coronal Oblivion
-Removes all magical effects from both the wearer and target, and prevents them from being reapplied or activated for the duration of the crowns devouring
A gold ornamental crown with the power of Aiuebr'Iukhil. A thing both of knowledge and ignorance. It does not affect people, but rather, it makes the 'world' forget something regarding both the wearer and the target, erasing that knowledge from it entirely. However, it is not very strong in the grand scheme of things.

A simple cloth garment designed to leave little to the imagination. Its ornaments clink pleasantly while moving. - Other:
Ngelivarh, The Timeless Moon. Supposedly Ngelivarh is an entity that watches the flow of time from the edges of the void, indexing and cataloguing everything that happens within the world. Commonly associated with insanity and immortality. Is said to appear as a child with unnaturally long hair and star filled eyes, or mass of writing, twisting space.
Emla-ulxe, Twin Soul burning Creator, Ardent destroyer. A horrific creature of writing flesh and metal. Little else is known about its appearance. Seeks to both destroy and create everything anew.
Aiuebr'Iukhil, Child of the Mountain, Eater of Knowledge. Appearing as a massive ball of bright light, or a large slug like entity, the Child of the Mountain is hungry for knowledge and seeks to consume all from mortal minds. Occasionally gifts mortals with knowledge that later comes to harm them. Does not get along with Ngelivarh.

Eisamira appears to stand at 5’8”. - Personality: Outside of Elysium, Eisamira is a fairly straight laced manager at a company. She’s not a harsh person to her employees but she can be fairly strict with people with problems. Once home, she is very relaxed especially with her daughter. In fact, it almost seemed as if her daughter ran the house.
In Elysium, however, Eisamira is a heavy roleplayer. She covers the role of a saintly nun. A soft, gentle if somewhat strict person like in real life. She plays the game seriously in her own roleplaying way. Of course, because of her ways, she’s a very well known player. - History: When she was 19 and in university, Aiko Yamada made a decision that changed her life. A one night fling with a childhood friend named Take who was on death’s door. He had liked her since they were young. He thought he might as well ask if they could have a night and after much thought, Aiko agreed. One thing led to another, an accident happened and Aiko was pregnant.
Nine months later, their child was born and named Ayaka. She would bring Ayaka to the hospital to visit and read newly released light novels together. Take always loved them, but his vision was getting fuzzy so Aiko read them to him.
A year later, there was a complication and Take passed away. After the funeral, she offered his parents help packing his things away. She noticed a box full of light novels and asked if she could take them. They agreed and she took them and read them after. His favorite seemed to be one called “Chasing a Nun in Another World.” It was humorous, she found.
All the while, Aiko continued college. Between her own parents and Take’s, she always had help taking care of Ayaka in her remaining years of study.
She finished college on time and found a job in an office setting. She fit right in and her work was well appreciated. Over the next ten years, she worked up way up the ladder and eventually became a section leader. With her position, she assures that no one must take overtime to get work done, including herself. That way, she can get home to spend time with Ayaka.
As Ayaka grew up she started helping take care of the house and cooking dinner for her mother. Eventually, it came time for Ayaka to go to college. She got an apartment closer to the college with some friends from high school. As Aiko was helping her move she came across a store that was selling VR systems and a recently released game, “Visions of Elysium”.
Aiko remembered that Take had always talked about being excited for this type of system to fully release. On a whim, she bought the system and game. When she got back home, she set up the system and played the game, not expecting more than to maybe appease Take. Instead, she fell in love with the game. She found she enjoyed being someone else and roleplayed as a nun, much like in that light novel from so long ago.
Eisamira become a quickly popular character since she always stayed in character in game. She was also well known for helping escort lower level players places and especially for prosthelytizing the whole time, trying to convert people to follow the Goddess of Light and Healing, “Amamein”. - Skills:

Bonus stats to DEX and AGI - Appearance: The self-proclaimed cutest fox in Elysium. Stands at exactly five feet tall.
- Personality: In-game, Akarin is a boundlessly cheerful and exuberant girl, able to find joy in even the simplest of actions within Elysium. She enjoys exploration, she loves interaction, she can even take great pleasure in battling the variety of monsters within the world. With her around, it's difficult to ever feel down or discouraged... up until you realise she isn't actually helpful in any meaningful way, but still.
Generally pleasant and uplifting to other players, Akarin can be seen as rather selfless and kind, despite her faults. While it's true she isn't looking to grief anyone in the game, she isn't above buttering up stronger players in order to obtain their help in acquiring bothersome drops or completing more tedious quests for her. Expect your reward to be the privilege of touching her tail for five seconds.
Akarin, or Yamada Hikari in real life, is a somewhat bratty rich kid that's used to getting whatever she wants. Although she doesn't go out of her way to mock others, she seems inherently haughty by nature, believing herself to be that much more important than the average person. To some extent, this spreads to her in-game personality too, where too much frustration can lead to rather OOC outbursts. Generally, she does her best to keep real life and Elysium separate. It'd be weird if her friends and admirers knew she was into roleplaying in VR games, after all. - History: Hikari, growing up, had become very much used to buying anything she ever wanted on a whim, and always quickly grew bored of any toys or products she obtained in favour of the next cool or cute thing. At school, she did decently enough to move on, surrounding herself with a series of shallow friendships, more predicated on her ability to buy their attention than anything. Hikari didn't think of that is an issue in itself, but over the years, found herself less and less willing to share her interests with others. Despite her company and status as a 'popular' girl, she's become a bit of a loner.
Having never really bothered too much with the several consoles she'd bought over the years, getting a VR system was just another purchase made on a whim for the sake of impressing her following, and picked up Elysium without really thinking about it. When she gave the game a try, however, Hikari found she just didn't want to stop playing.
Since release, 'Akarin' has built herself up as a separate entity from Hikari, having tons of fun messing around in the game, having no real clue how to effectively fight, but who cared? Auto systems aside, there was so much to do and experience... - Skills:
Latch - Long range, is used to pull an opponent into at least mid-range. Pitiful damage.
Blade Circlet - Mid range, Akarin spins in place, letting her chains extend and cut opponents. Extra damage if the spearheads connect.
Deadly Gouge - Mid range, Akarin dodges to the side, then lunges a spearhead to the enemy. Can Embed into an enemy.
Spiral Cut - Short range, Akarin leaps into the air to evade an attack, then strike back with a twirl and a stab. - Equipment:
Piercing Chains - a DEX-based weapon that requires some skill to wield manually. A long chain with two spearheads, it is made for mid-range combat, enabling some evasion-based attacks for extra skill. 'Embed' is a trait that can treat most monsters as a latching point.
"Academic Slayer" Costume Pack - A costume loosely based on a school uniform. Only gives a single point to each stat, but Akarin was more taken with how much cuter it made her look. - Other: In the right environment, she can use her weapons to traverse the area! So it's not too great in open meadows or the like, but lots of fun in forests or spacious hallways.

† Increased mana pool scaling - Appearance: Hecate tends to swap between two distinct appearances, though the choice appears to be fairly arbitrary with regards to whatever she happens to be doing in the game. One adopts a rather battle-worn look and stands out as every bit the witch. The other fits her chosen namesake far more. Perhaps the odd part is the height for both, coming to a neat 6'0.
- Personality: Hecate seems to be pretty much just in Visions to do whatever. Fairly upbeat about it, despite her lengthy playtime, she's not one of the people seeking to be the strongest or play the most optimally, to defeat the strongest enemy... no, she's just going around playing the game. If other people are around, then she's perfectly willing to go along with their suggestions but left to her own devices? Just explore the world and explode anything that seems too hostile.
She's very strongly someone that doesn't want to talk about herself or other interests and would rather focus on the game world. - History: Really, Hecate's history in the real world could be considered totally unremarkable, there's really nothing to be said for someone that went through school and higher education without making any attempt to stand out. About the only thing that the majority of the world would have considered of note was that--so far as they were aware--Hecate was a guy. This, obviously, is something that she would never have allowed to carry over into a VR game like this, with the minor caveat of maintaining a similar height... because not looking down towards people would have been really confusing, plus expecting doors and things to be at a certain position.
Though the main upshot of this is that with a lack of other prospects right now, Hecate plays the game far more than one might consider to be entirely a good idea. - Skills:
† Black Magic: A catch-all for purely damage-focused spells; ignoring debuffs or battlefield restrictions, with the upside of generally giving some damage type for every situation.
† Mana Shield: Take damage to mana instead of HP. Can be deactivated to conserve mana.
† War Mage: Increased mana regeneration so long as the user stands still.
† Familiars: This skill allows the contracting of various small creatures with no combat abilities to see through their eyes. Hecate has a raven and a cat, useful for general scouting or as a form of artillery spotting. - Equipment: For the most part, Hecate's equipment is exactly what one would expect of a dedicated offensive mage, though the rarities are reasonably high: the staff acts as a damage multiplier, and her robes mostly work to increase mana and extend combat longevity that way, with defence being almost an afterthought. The standout item amongst her jewellery, the one not providing generic defensive debuffs, is the Ring of the Immovable Object, which was particularly annoying to get but has the highly specific effect of rendering the wearer immune to effects that would reposition them: being rushed down, earthquakes, knockdown, telekinesis... it doesn't protect otherwise from stun or disabling effects, it simply stops the user from moving.
Of course, she's invested in paid cosmetic upgrades to other equipment sets to wear them over the actually useful stuff. It makes switching appearance depending on the activity quite simple.

- History: In his real life Ignacio is a history professor at a university with a focus on early and late modern history. His activities in the game has been on exploring the in game crafting system and funding his research by selling potions and alchemical creations. His major work has been working through the progression of firearms technology from the industrial age, kickstarted by his own knowledge. Progress in this is largely kept a secret, many of the specific tooling having been handmade.
- Skills:Alchemist: Creating potions and consumables by combining alchemical reagents. This has largely been a process of trial and error. 6'5" - Personality: Chains likes to keep people guessing. He holds his cards close to his chest, and rarely talks about himself. Coming off as cold and distant, similar to how he looks. He refuses to form any sort of lasting relationship with people, because of an event in his past. Making him cynical, and often downright antagonistic to certain people. Specifically, people who take the came too seriously with acting in character a lot. He finds it obnoxious. He's here to blow off steam, and escape his own world troubles of dealing with annoying people, and hates to deal with them here.
- Skills:
- Floor Shifting - By utilising his Spatiokinetic magic, Chains can change which direction gravity affects him. Effectively allowing him to use walls and ceilings as a new floor.
- Displacement Blink - By utilising his Spatiokinetic magic, Chains can teleport short distances, to either evade attacks or quickly close the distance between opponents.
- Location Displacement - Chains can create dynamic illusionary clones to distract and disorient enemies.
- Backstab - By using his other skills, he deals a powerful blow into the back of an enemy dealing large amounts of bonus damage.
- Multi-directional Attack - By utilising his Spatiokinetic magic and his dual-wielding style, he can attack several times at once. Stacking up to five attacks at once, all coming from different angles.
- Modular Physiology Enhancement Skills - Due to being a Warforged, Chains has had the option to consult with traders and crafters to acquire new skills.
- Hand Cannon - A replacement for the starting arm, Chains has swapped out his right arm for one with the capability to shift into a double-barrelled cannon. It does this through a mix of transmutation enchantments and engineering skills. With the cannon active, Chains cannot use his right hand as a hand, but can use bursts of mana to fire magical blasts.
- Lens of Agaboth - The Lens of Agaboth allows Chains to use an active skill known as 'Scanner Pulse.' This ability allows Chains to find more information about enemies and other players, such as certain stats and weak points.
- Mythril Plating - Mythril plating allows the benefits of armour, without actually having to wear armour. Thus making him lighter, and not incurring the penalties to speed and stealth for wearing medium armour, while retaining the defence benefit.
- Gravitational Anchor - The Gravitational Anchor is a small device embedded into his left hand. It allows Chains to project a small magical projectile that can anchor/tether to any surface, allowing Chains to pull himself towards it. It also provides the passive effect of allowing his Floor Shifting ability to use significantly less mana to sustain.
- Equipment:
- Sunrise and Nightfall, Twin Blades of Fallen Souls - Chains's current go-to Weapon. A pair of short swords that deal additional elemental damage. While the weapons look similar, they are actually quite difference in terms of power. Of the paired blades, the one with diamond patterning along the handle deals additional radiant damage and the one with a smooth handle deals extra necromantic damage. When the blades are crossed in front of the body, the blades can create a blast that deals piercing damage of a physical damage type.
- Shawl of Deceit - A basic leather armour that slightly boosts defence while increasing DEX based skills. The real advantage of this item is that it can hide the user's stats and location unless the enemy has a direct line of sight. When used with Location Displacement, the stats and locations remain hidden until all clones are dispelled.
- Inferno, Bringer of Immortality - a container fastened to Chains's right thigh, houses three magical throwing knives. The container itself is enchanted to return the Knives once they are thrown. The knives, themselves, possess a minor life steal property coupled with a more significant mana steal.
