Adam glanced down at himself for a moment. "Maybe I am too short." he thought to himself, bemused. "I should try to find a trooper with some heels.

Before Adam could ponder on that more, he heard the sound of plasteel boots coming up the walkway. Han quickly pushed Adam to the side of the door and gave him a nod. Obi-wan gestured for Kijani to hide nearby. When the door opened, it showed a pair of Stormtroopers struggling to get a scanner up the ramp. Following close behind them was a sour looking officer who was trying to coach them on how to carry it.

Once the three Imperials were on the ship, Han rushed them. Adam's shock at Han's recklessness wore off when he saw the imperial officer reach for his comlink. Adam quickly ran up and knocked it out of his hand before trying to punch him.

Adam wasn't exactly familiar with unarmed combat, but he spent his entire life on a farm on a very rough planet. His fist connected on the officer's jaw and it sounded like it hurt, but the officer simply shook it off and shoved Adam away, sending him backwards. Adam got up to try and hit him again before Chewbacca brought his massive hand down on top of the man's head.

Han quickly threw the two surprised Stormtroopers down the floor and started taking off their uniforms. "Adam, you get the officer."

"Me?! Why me?!" asked Adam. The idea of walking around an imperial installation barefaced seemed more than a little intimidating.

"Because Kijani is the most recognizable woman on the planet and I have a criminal record. No one knows you." Adam couldn't argue with that as he started stripping the officer's black uniform and boots.

Kijani poked her head out of hiding once she heard the three troopers drop. “Very well done, gentlemen.” She headed toward toward one of them and started pulling off the distinct white uniforms. Underneath, she was surprised to find a normal looking human. Interesting; it may have been that the man was currently very unconscious, but she didn’t feel afraid at all.

Getting the armor off was not particularly difficult. Getting the armor on, however, was proving challenging. “Let’s see. I just strap this here, and click this here, and- no, it’s falling off again- damn!” Kijani was doing her best to hurry, but had managed a boot and a leg piece so far. “How in the world do these guys get dressed in the morning?”

After some much needed assistance, she was all done up in uniform. It was eerie somehow, and wrong, like wearing the skin of her enemies. She knew her parents were watching over her, but hoped that perhaps they wouldn’t watch too closely at this part. Breathing in the helmet was difficult, and warm. It did leave her with the humorous image of a Stormtrooper steaming up his own visor, however, which made her giggle faintly as they got ready.

“This fits so awkwardly.” Her breasts, while not particularly large, were still being squashed by the chest plat, and the part with the hips fit far too snugly. The rest of it rattled a little loose. “Well, I hope we don’t run into many others, because I seriously don’t think I’ll fool anyone.” Kijani took a test walk in a circle, feeling the awkward armor shifting and clunking as she did so.

Say what you want about the Empire, they have amazing tailors. thought Adam as he put on the uniform. He wasn't quite the right size, but it was comfy and he could move in it easily. Perks of being an officer, I guess.

Adam came out to the other room dressed in the black uniform and saw both Han and Kijani struggling in their Stormtrooper armor. Especially Kijani looked miserable, as her armor was clearly not built for a woman. Hopefully they could keep the ruse for long enough to shut the tractor beam off and get the hell out.

"Don't worry, Kijani. Hopefully you won't have to stay in that very long." said Adam before turning to Obi-wan. "Do we even have a plan? I mean, I'm not sure if bluffing our way though the station is going to work."

"Leave the tractor beam to me. You all take the control room and make sure they doors stay open." said Obi-wan confidently.

"Right." said Han. "Doesn't sound to hard. Just walk right into a heavily defended Imperial space station like we own the place. Good plan." He didn't really try to hide his sarcasm.

Chewbacca roared as if in agreement. Adam couldn't really deny that they had a point, but they really didn't have much of a choice. Besides, didn't Kijani say her father was on this station? That might be worth looking into.

Kijani watched as Adam reentered. It was very strange to think it, but the uniform made him look very good. She was suddenly very glad her face couldn’t be seen. Although, there was something just slightly off about the whole thing. While the others talked about the plan, or lack thereof, Kijani stood there, staring and wondering. It clicked after a few seconds.

“I know you’re attempting to be sarcastic, Mr. Solo, but that is exactly what we’re going to do. Walk like we own the place. Adam, on that front, you’ve got it wrong. You’re still moving like a wide-eyed farm boy. Let me see.” Her own voice sounded tinny and ridiculous inside the helmet, but she was going to take charge anyway.

She approached him, trying to move smoothly, and adjusted his posture. Shoulders back, hair out of the eyes, hat tilted just right. “Now, walk as if no one has the right to stop you. Walk like… well, like me.” She shrugged, knowing it was true. From birth she’d been raised to rule, and that came with certain traits. “Keep your expression smooth and focused. Don’t let your eyes wander too much, and maybe think of the stormtroopers as icky worms.” She paused a beat. “Not saying I think of others as worms, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a happy Imperial. Just saying.”

"Han, you already walk like you belong everywhere, so you're fine. Chewbacca, there's nothing I could tell you that would make you fit in, so you're also fine. Mr. Obi-Wan... what exactly are you going to be doing?" She really wanted an answer. Jedi or not, he seemed far too confident in this dire situation. Did he know something everyone else did not?

"Don't worry. I still have my ways." said Obi-wan mischievous grin on his face. "You four need to take that control room up there and make sure the door's don't close. I'm going to find one of the main reactors and shut it down. That way, they won't be able to reel us back in with the tractor beam."

"What about me? Shouldn't I go with you?" Adam asked. He didn't want to leave the princess' side, but he hated the idea of leaving his master all on his own.

"Patience, Adam. Stay here and watch over Kijani and the droids." Before Adam could say more, Obi-wan cut him off. "It is vital that you bring them safely to Alderaan. I can take care of myself."

Adam nodded. "Right." was all he managed to say. He somehow got the feeling that he would never see his master again. It was a stupid thought. No one could kill the great Obi-wan Kenobi. Right?

"The Force will be with you. Always." the old Jedi master said before departing. Adam tried to follow his path, but he was soon out of sight. He hoped that he would be okay, but he knew that if anyone could do this, he could. Obi-wan had his job, and Adam his own.

"Okay. Chewie, keep the droids out of sight. Han, Kijani, let's go to the control room. If a blaster goes off, were done for, so try to keep it quiet." Adam said. Han looked like he wanted to say something about not following orders, but he kept his mouth shut. Adam just assumed it was because Han didn't have a better idea.

Kijani was also worried about Obi Wan. Sure, he seemed capable, but running around alone surrounded by enemies seemed like a bad idea. But there was nothing to be done - by the time she was ready to object, Obi Wan was off and running. He was fast for an old fellow.

When Adam took charge, Kijani was a little more than surprised. But it was good. She didn't like being in charge all of the time, despite her whole life being mostly about that. It was good to relax the reins.

"Let's go, then."

They made their way out of the Millennium Falcon, and into the eerie halls of the space station. Everything seemed massive and cold, utterly industrial. Would it kill them to have some decoration? Still, she kept her mouth shut. She may have looked the part now, but her usual speaking voice would be a dead giveaway that the person in the suit wasn't supposed to be there. So, for now, she simply followed Adam's lead. Maybe there would be some sign to point them toward the control panel.

Adam, Kijani and Han walked out of the Falcon and onto the flight deck of the Death Star. Adam tried his best to act like he owned the place, and no one seemed to notice three more faceless soldiers in the bustle. Han nudged Adam slightly and gestured up to a small room overseeing the hanger with a few helmeted flight controllers inside. Adam guessed that was the control room, so he made his way there.

He stopped at the door, giving a nod to Kijani and Han before taking a deep breath and stepping into the small room. The two flight controllers turned to him, reaching for their belts.

"Who are you? Are you authorized to be here?" One of them said. Adam waved his hand over both of them.

"You two should take a break. There is fresh caf in the breakroom." Rather than stiffening and blankly obeying him, one turned to the other. Adam stopped himself from muttering a curse and reached for his lightsaber.

"It's about time for our break, so maybe we should just go now?" One officer said to the other. The other just shrugged and turned to leave.

"Try not to mess anything up while were gone, okay?" The senior officer said as the pair left the room.

"What the hell was that about?" asked Han through his helmet vox unit.

"I don't know, but it worked, right?" said Adam with a shrug. "Close enough."

Chewbacca and the two droids entered the room not long after, and Artoo immediately went to one of the large computers and started using his scomp-link. After just a moment, he beeped.

"R2 says he has downloaded a blueprint for this level of the station. He thinks it might be useful." said Threepio Before anyone could say anything else, the droid began to chirp very loudly. If the gold protocol droid could emote surprise and alarm, he tried to do so now.

"According to Artoo, Senator Organa is being held on the prison level."

Kijani wavered on the spot, eyes widening behind the stormtrooper mask. Impossible. It was impossible! It had to be some kind of trick. A trap! Something.

“Artoo, are you absolutely positive about that?” She kept her voice low. R-2 beeped an affirmative, and Kijani felt her stomach twist.

“Impossible.” She murmured, feeling her whole body going clammy. “Give me those blueprints. I will see this with my own eyes, or nothing else.” Could it be? The strange feelings she’d felt on the ship before were actually real? She snatched away the blueprint once it was printed, ignoring Han’s protests. A good part of her was screaming that she was not thinking rationally, that she was endangering the mission due to personal feelings. She shoved that part down deep and ignored it.

She had to find her father.

Artoo beeped in affirmation, turning his dome to look at Kijani. "Artoo says he has been here for only a few hours, and that he is currently scheduled... to be terminated."

At this, Adam shot up. "We can't leave without him! If they find out we're here, they'll think we're a rescue party and execute him on the spot!" As the droid pulled up the blueprints on the small terminal screen, Han interjected.

"Kid, there are only four of us against a massive imperial battle station." he said, not even bothering to include the droids. "These disguises are only going to get us so far. Even if we get the senator and get back to the ship, this all depends on the old man getting the reactors off."

"So either we leave him here and he dies, or we go after and we might get lucky." Adam said. He knew it was a long shot, but he couldn't stand leaving someone helpless in this horrible place. He turned to Kijani.

"It's your call. Either way, I'll follow your lead." Han simply shrugged and rolled his eyes.

Kijani inhaled slow, weighing her options. If it was her father - if he had somehow managed to escape the destruction of their home - then she would live every day in guilt for not going to him. For not trying. If her father was there, and she didn't go to him, and he died... what kind of ruler did that?

"...if I was the one in that cell, my father would come for me. I know this is crazy, Han, but I have to do it. If I don't, I'll spend the rest of my life wondering... what if?" She wanted to rub her face, but the helmet prevented that.

"Alright. So we're in the main corridor, here, right?" She pointed to the map. "It looks like there's a smaller, service corridor mostly used for the droids and repair engineers. If we're trying to get there without being seen, this is our best bet. I think."

She looked up at the two men. "Sound good?"

Adam nodded, while Han looked incredulous. "This is crazy. Marching into the detention area is not an option." he said. Adam knew his gripes were completely justified, but they couldn't leave the senator behind.

"If you don't want to get involved, then you can stay here." Adam said. "We can move around alot easier with the two of us, and we need someone to start the ship up once Master Obi-Wan gets the tractor beam off.

"Fine. But if you arn't back in two hours, I'll leave you all here." Han said with a shrug.

Once Adam and Kijani left Han, Chewie and the droids in the control room, Adam whispered to Kijani, trying not to draw attention from any of the imperials.

"Sorry about Han, but at least you have me to kick around. Let's find your dad."

Kijani sighed very softly, keeping her voice low. "It's fine. He's probably right. This is crazy, but I have to know." And on they went. Kijani was doing her very best not to be hurried, but her heart was thumping faster with every step. She knew this was insane. If they did find her father, how did they get him out of the cell and back to the ship in one piece? Then a thought occurred that nearly stopped her in her tracks.

What if they didn't? What if this was all false? What if he had been here, but was already...

Would the grief take her again, make her useless? She wouldn't let that happen.

"Adam, I have a sort of plan. When we get there, you have to tell the guards that.. um... the emperor has some questions for him. If it is him. If it's not him, then I am going to weep later." There, that was a plan. Not a solid or even mostly coherent one, but it was something. Her mother would be disappointed.

"You're right. That is sort of a plan." Adam said. "But it might just be crazy enough to work." As they made their way through the service corridor, Adam adjusted his uniform and tried to make himself look as presentable as possible.

"There. How do I look?" Adam said in the best posh, Coruscantian accent he could muster. Imperial officers were usually recruited from the high society, and many of them had borderline obnoxious accents. It always sounded like everyone was beneath them, which might be a useful trait when dealing with Stormtroopers.

When the pair reached the doors to the detention level, Adam took a deep breath. "Ready? Here we go." He straighten his spine and walked through the doors like he owned the place. Waiting for them was a single officer in black and a group of Stormtroopers.

"We are here to move the prisoner to the holoprojector room. The Emperor himself wishes to question him."

"Why wasn't I notified of this?" The prison officer looked quite shocked that the Emperor had taken an interest in his prisoner. "I'm going to have to clear this with Lord Vader."

As the officer reached for his comm device, Adam gave Kijani a panic looked. "I can't mind trick that many guys. What do we do?" he whispered to her, though he instinctively reached for his blaster.

There were times where Kijani wished she had been born a normal woman. Just an average citizen from an average planet who didn’t have to make hard decisions. Right now was one of those times. It was as if everything was slowing, the moment stretching for eons.

She knew what she had to do. But she hated herself for it.

Without responding, she lifted her blaster and shot the stormtrooper in the throat. There was a terrible, gargled noise as he died. The second trooper had enough time to say “What-” before Kijani shot him too. She exhaled slowly. These were the kinds of choices a royal had to make.

She plucked the cell key card from one of the guards bodies. “...it’s different up close.” Was all she managed to say, before stepping past the two dead men. Even if they were the Empire, she hated to have death so up close and personal, and on her hands.

“Let’s go, Adam. Cell 4653.” She took off without another word, murmuring to herself as she counted cells.

It was only fair. It had been her plan, after all, and all failure was therefore her fault. Only right that she should take the killing shot. This whole thing could turn out to be a major disaster. Get them all captured, killed… and it would be on her shoulders. She shouldn’t have said the Emperor. She should have said Vader. She’d aimed too high.

“4651… 4652… 4653.” For a moment the cell was too dim for her to see. Then the lights clicked on, revealing a figure huddled on the cell cot.

The moment of truth. “Hello?”

Adam balked at Kijani when she opened fire on the Stormtroopers. He was expecting more negotiating, but he supposed they weren't here to play nice. When she took off down the prison hall, Adam shouted back to her.

"I'll stay back here. Someone's gotta cover the exit!" he said while reaching for the discarded blasters on the ground. He considering ditching the weapons and going with his lightsaber, but decided against it. He didn't want to declare himself as a Jedi until it was absolutely necessary.

He took an E-11 blaster rifle in each hand. The weapons were small enough to be carried and fired one handed, if not accurately. Thankfully, the reception area for the prison level was small, and the range would be very short. Adam trained his weapons on the door and waited for the soldiers who were definitely coming now.

Bail Organa sat in the cold, durasteel prison cell, head hanging in shame. He still blamed himself for what happened to Alderaan, and his only comfort was that Kijani was far, far away from Alderaan when it happened. The older man wondered if he would ever see her again. Maybe it would be for the best if he didn't. Hopefully she would stay far away from Yavin 4 before the Death Star arrived.

For a second, he thought he was finally losing his mind. For a second, he thought he heard his daughter's voice outside his door. "Whose there?" he said, not sure whether to be relieved or horrified.

Kijani's head spun. So the impossible was true. Thank the stars, her father was alive! She knelt down in the suit, nearly throwing her helmet to the ground in her haste.

"Father... father, it's me, it's Kijani!" She couldn't help the tears that sprung to her eyes as she clung to her father's shirt. Suddenly, her hands were shaking. "Father, we're here to rescue you. Don't ask how we got here, it's kind of a long story, and we don't have time." She wondered what the Empire had done to him. She had never seen him so cowed before.

"Come on. Please get up. We have to go, we don't have much time."

Bail crushed her daughter in a massive bear hug, completely unable to believe his good fortune. His daughter, despite all the odds, was alive and here to rescue him. How did she get here? Did she find Obi-Wan? How were they getting out? And who was doing all the shooting down the hall?

"Right, tell me later." Bail said as he left the cell. A stray blaster-bolt whizzed past his head, and the senator ducked down low, pushing his daughter to do the same.

"Stay low, both of you." said a young blonde man with a blaster rifle in each hand, unloading them towards the elevators. Bail thought he recognized the man for a second, but he put it from his mind for now.

"Now that you've got me out, now where do we go?" asked Bail, scrambling for cover.

"Honestly, I don't think we excepted to get this far." said the young man, firing again at a stormtrooper out of cover. "We better think of something before they get the heavy weapons up here."

Kijani made sure her father was in cover before finding a spot herself, her eyes wide and searching. There had to be something, some way out. Some avenue they hadn't tried. She refused to give up here.

Then she saw it. Their window of opportunity; possibly the one one they had left. She raised her gun and fired a few quick shots, then crossed near Adam and her father.

"There, about 2 meters ahead. Garbage chute. I know it isn't ideal, but it's better than here."

Deserts, stormtroopers, gunfights, Jedi, Empire and now literal garbage? What else was this week going to bring her?

"Father, please go. We'll catch up."

Bail Organa didn't need much encouragement. "You be right behind us!" he said before booking it to the garbage chute. Without thinking, he jumped right in.

After a short drop, the senator found himself nearly waist deep in sewage. This must be the refuse pit for the entire detention level. he thought to himself, just as he heard another splash from behind him. Expecting to see his daughter, he was greeted by the young man who was accompanying her.

"Sorry if it isn't glamorous, but we didn't exactly have a plan for this." the young man said as he tried in vain to wipe sewage off his imperial officer's jacket.

"It's fine. I'm just glad to be out." said Bail. "Who are you, anyway?"

"Right. We didn't have time for introductions. My name is Adam Skywalker." Adam said while sticking his hand out.

Just like that, a flood of memories came rushing back to Bail Organa. He remembered needing to leave his pregnant wife to travel to Polis Massa. He remembered Obi-wan cradling a newborn baby boy. He remembered learning that Padme had died giving birth.

So, this is the son of Anakin Skywalker. the senator thought to himself while shaking Adam's hand, just as another splash sounded. That must be Kijani.

Kijani splashed down into the refuse just in time to see Adam and her father shaking hands. That was good. It would help matters immensely if they got along well.

“Alright...” She started to look around, striding through the dank, dirty water in her Stormtrooper uniform. The boots must have been waterproof, because she didn’t feel a thing. Lucky. “There’s got to be a way out of here.”

She consulted the map they had printed off, despite it being slightly soggy, and started pacing through the water. She spoke while she searched. More garbage poured in while she did so.

“Father, it’s amazing to see you alive and well. I have a thousand questions, but those are going to have to wait until we’re safe. I would hug you, but I feel rather disgusting right now. Plus I doubt you would appreciate the uniform.”

A careful inspection of a side wall revealed an emergency stop button. “I suppose this is our exit strategy. We press this, I guess it will stop things. Maybe this is a failsafe just in case anyone fell in here accidentally. Lucky the Empire thought of it.”

Her hand hovered above the button.

“Everyone ready?”
