Max wasn't sure what hurt more, the coursing pain of the M-pox he was infected with, or the fact thar Jack basically told him he had no friends. Yes, he was aware he had none and that James was more acquaintance than a real friend. But that didn’t mean it didn't still hurt him. He watched as Dr. Chan took Jack away from him, freeing Max up to be able to help the others. Glimpse managed to grab Callie, and Max was beginning to make his way towards Casper when James suddenly swooped in and took him to safety. Max looked about the room noticing there was no one left to help. There was a strong wind flowing from Callie and it lifted the fog of tear gas that littered the clinic. Max made his way over towards the doors, clutching his stomach as he looked for any Purifiers in the next room.

Having seen none, Max pressed forward calling back to James "I'm going to try and get Sunshine and Magik. She's in no condition to fight." He immediately thought to himself how he wasnt in any better condition to fight than she was, but that didnt meant he couldn't try to help her. He looked about the room, propping himself against a wall as his vision blurred and furniture doubled. There was no sign of Sunshine or Magik, and he didn't know why but there was a hint of sadness to that fact. He allowed his body to slowly slump downwards as he called out weakly to James. "I...I can't find them. They're not in sight." He blinked a few times trying to adjust his vision, full glad that the milk had stopped the stinging.

Echo

Location: George Washington University
Skills:

Echo continued to bob and weave on his skates as he attempted to avoid being hit. The small green haired child had joined the fight and lobbed off the purifiers arm. He wasn’t sure if he should be impressed or horrified at the situation that had just unfolded before him. Especially with their lack of concern and what appeared to be morbid curiosity towards the scene. The man himself, who was proclaimed as Sam, didn't even seem bothered by his wound. If anything Echo could swear he was back at Xaviers mansion in a simulator gone wrong. His sister had pulled up and knocked the guys lights out, asking if they were OK. "I'm fine Veil really." he answered reassuring until it dawned on him that she was speaking to the two others with them. "Oh. Right. You two should really find somewhere safer before those bruises become something much worse." Sure they showed potential, but unlike others he wasnt about to have children on the Frontline. Not when mutant hate was ramping up to the point that children weren't even viewed as such.

As if to punctuate his thought, Barry looked up towards Echo and spoke in a mournful tone. "Hey Hare, its Moonwalker." He didn't have to say anything more for him to understand what he meant. Cayden was dead, and they were able to help him fast enough. He was sure Sapphire had done all she could at the time, sure that there wasn't much else to do than to wrap this up and hope they got the help needed for the cure. Otherwise it was all in vain. Barry placed his hand on Sapphires shoulder, looking at her to let her know it wasn't her fault. "We have to go Sapphire. We can't stay here much longer." Barry lifted up Caydens body, holding him close so that he could have a proper burial later. "Havoc help those who need it to evacuate. You kids should really consider getting a move on two, and Veil help cover their escapes if you can. I'll hold down the line here until you can manage to get far enough away."

"Cayden, you're going to be okay... Don't worry, alright? You're going to be fine..." Sapphire said softly to him, giving him a smile as she glanced over at his hand on her arm, "It'll be alright, you just need to hold on a little longer okay? Don't worry..." Though she knew it was too late, as she heard Cayden take one last breath, before he was completely silent. Her mind was racing, not too sure what to really think, before she heard voices around her, all seemingly the same one, and it took her a moment before her mind registered it as Echo's. "Get the hell away from me," she said as a cold chill would suddenly surround the area, and the clone (Barry apparently) who had lifted Cayden's body would suddenly get a cold feeling just from touching her shoulder, and slowly the double would find himself freezing a bit.

She got up from the ground, saying nothing as the air around her seemed to be freezing entirely, her pale hands were red from Cayden's blood, and she just looked down at them. "I'll be back, I need to go talk to Watts, see if he can help us out," she responded, not looking at anyone before she took off towards the Starbucks that Watts had gone into with Leda. Her hair and eyes going back to their normal colors of brown as she went into the building. She was trying to remain calm somewhat as she walked in, and she glanced around and looked over at Watts, Leda, and someone that she didn't recognize. "Hey Watts, is Leda okay? I hope she is, and do you think we could talk now? Kind of have to get going somewhat soon or whatever..."

"I'm perfectly fine," Zari responded to Veil, as she picked Mr. Jaws up again and looked over at Echo who had come racing over to them. His words just annoyed the hell out of her. "...Are you trying to boss me around? Jeg er en del av Valkyrie, barnebarn til Gud av lyse Baldur. Jeg tar ikke ordre om å komme tilbake fra deg. Jeg gjør det jeg vil, og du har ikke lov til å sjef meg rundt!" she snapped at him, clearly annoyed with him, her words shifting to her native language as she spoke. This was annoying the hell out of her, and it was safe to say that she had some of her morals skewed from her father, and the world that she grew up in.

She glanced over towards the last Purifer that was left standing, and she whirled around, slashing her sword and taking him down, when she did so she glared right at Echo over it, as if she was daring him to stop her. After the body dropped, she glanced down at her sword, and started fiddling with the handle, before the sword shifted back into it's flashlight form. She walked over to where she had left her bag and picked it up, pulling out a small screwdriver from it as she picked up the two halves of her robotic eye friend. "Can't believe they decided to break you... Why would they do that? That was mean of them..." she muttered, fiddling with the eye now.

Jack still wasn't doing the best, his brain was wandering a bit, almost like he was trying to figure out what he should do if anything at the moment. He wasn't really wanting to go with Dr. Chan out of the room, he truly wanted to go after Sunshine and drag her back or something. Actually, that sounded like a fantastic idea to his somewhat not too good brain, and he glanced at the others, "You know... I'm a little tired of sitting around doing nooooooothing. I think I'm gonna go do something," he responded, before he stumbled a little bit away from Dr. Chan, and he stumbled a little bit, zig zagging a bit as he went after Sunshine and Magik, not even paying much attention to whether there were Purifiers or not.

Stumbling along, he eventually found Sunshine and Magik in another room, with three dead Purifiers and Magik holding a gun. Sunshine seemed to be trying to get the gun away from her, but he decided to take the more direct approach and walked over. He grabbed a hold of the gun, and wrestled it away from Magik when there was another loud CRACK as the gun fired off, but luckily it didn't hit anyone. Backing away a little bit, he looked at the weapon in his hand before he waved it around a little bit before putting his hand behind his head or something (this of course being the hand holding the gun). "You know what's funny Rookie? With the job I have or whatever as a PI, with so many people who hate me... You'd think I'd learn how to use a gun or a weapon or something. But no. I don't. It's kind of sad really," he said, bringing the gun forward now and not really holding it very safely (he had his hand on the handle, but the barrel was pointed towards him).

Luna Braddock - Glimpse

Location: Mutant Friendly Clinic -- Washington D.C.
Skills: Telepathy;

Spark Plug seemed to come around a bit and for that, Luna was grateful. They needed everyone they could to get out of this. Luna paused a moment when she heard the gunshots go off and she looked at James and the others. It was like herding cats. Everyone was going through different stages of M-Pox and Jack had declined, zig-zagging out of the room and away from the Doctor.
Luna was hesitant to go after him. She was feeling better, for the moment but that could change in a hurry the way this was going. No one really understood this disease other than it attacked mutants.
Callie had also gone out into the hallway, after leaving Luna’s side and she actually did seem to be a bit more coherent but she had left before Jack did and another gun shot just went off. Luna retreated into her mind for a moment, doing a quick head count and breathed out. ”None of ours are dead,” she said to James, Max and Casper. ”Can you three make it to the car? I’ll see if the others need help making it back,” she said.

Waverley Watts - Feedback

Location: George Washington University
Skills:

For a moment, Waverley was half afraid that Watts would go against her suggestion purely to spite her. But to her relief, she watched as, with his daughter in his arms, he ran across the street, taking shelter in a coffee shop. With them safe, she allowed herself to focus on putting herself between the Purifier and Cayden, who was being held in Sapphire's arms. She made a few threatening jabs at the man, trying to stave him off like the beast he and his people really were on the inside. But before he could get close to her, the little green-haired kid put him down without hesitation. Under normal circumstances, Waverley might've scolded the girl for the numerous corpses she'd decorated the battlefield with, or geeked out over their new temporary ally's powers and skills. But she didn't.

Instead, she let the bat clatter to the ground, and spun around. When she did, Sapphire walked past her, the woman's aura of cold causing goosebumps to rise on the back of her neck. At that moment, some part of Waverley knew what had come to pass. Some part of her knew, but she refused to accept it. Her denial drowned out any assumptions of the worst. She quickly walked over to the Echo clone that held Cayden, though her attention was solely on the young man in his arms. When she got to him, she immediately reached her hand to his neck wound in an attempt to stop the bleeding, but as she touched it, it felt like ice. She pulled her fingers back, recognizing it as the work of Sapphire. She figured touching it would do more harm than good. Unfortunately, that left her shaky hands with no way to help, and she needed them to be doing something. So, almost instinctively, her hand moved from his neck to the back of his head, tangling itself in his long dark hair. Her other hand lingered on his neck, just far away enough from the wound as to not be at risk of melting the patch of ice.

"Y-you're okay. The ambulance is almost here," she croaked, her voice coming out raspy. He was still warm, despite the chilly air around them. He was still warm. Waverley didn't want to check his pulse, and her mind refused to register the fact that his chest had stopped rising and falling. But he was warm. That was all that mattered. That was all that she let matter. And if she could keep him warm, then he'd be okay...right? It wasn't sound logic, of course. It was the kind of logic used so often by those in the first stage of loss, desperate and nonsensical. So she reached across his body, grabbing onto his hand furthers from her, and did her best to let her body heat raise his. Despite her fierce denial, tears were glistening on the surface of her eyes.

George Washington University: Starbucks...

"Great, the idiot concentration keeps increasing then. God fucking bless America," Watts complained, hearing that ambulances were on their way. He trusted his medical skills over some random emergency workers, especially in the capital of anti-mutant hatred in the US. He doubted that they'd have the brains to realize his daughter was inhuman - and even if they did, they'd likely lump her in with the stigma of the mutant criminal all the same.

"And unless you magically have surgical equipment, I doubt there's anything you can do," he snapped at Kristina.

"I'm f-f-f-fine..." Leda stammered, trying to keep her eyes from fluttering closed.

Watts had gently propped her up on one of the couches, dashing behind the counter. Most states had a law regarding what was required to be in a first aid kit. He just had to hope that Starbucks followed policy and with a bit of luck, he'd have what he needed to help his daughter for now. "We can talk once I get Leda's injury handled with more than just ice," Watts told Sapphire. Unlike Kristin, he didn't snap at her, but the stress in his voice was clear.

He put on the pair of latex gloves he found in the kit and quickly cleaned the area surrounding Leda's wound. The ice had melted off. Leda's body was burning hot, as if trying to repair itself via heat. The bullet was half sticking out of her skin, something Watts thanked his lucky stars for. He just plucked the bullet out and set it aside. He cleaned her wound as best as he could, before wrapping it tightly with gauze. "You're going to be fine, my little princess," he told his daughter softly, his gloves covered in blood. "I don't think you'll need stitches. You were lucky... this time. Don't you ever do that again, damn it!"

Veil

Location: George Washington University: the Street
Skills: N/A
Veil's heart broke a little bit, knowing that these two young mutant kids most likely were living on the street. Homelessness was a huge problem for teenage mutants. Their powers were volatile and hard to control at that age, and with the current political climate, parents tended to kick them out rather than accept their children for who they are. But she also couldn't help but be in awe of them. It was ruthless and cutthroat how they killed their assailants, but they had such finesse and confidence. "If you two need a place to stay with a warm bed, I can help. No strings attached. For just a night or longer, all up to you," Veil offered gently. She didn't want to spook them.

Veil then swallowed thickly, as she took her attention away from the kids and her heart plummeted straight past her stomach. She put a hand over her mouth in disbelief. She didn't know what to say. She didn't know how to fix this. There was no fixing it. Someone had died under her watch. She had been responsible for Cayden. She shouldn't have brought him along today. He was so young. He wasn't ready. This world was so cruel. The tears flowed silently. She couldn't help but feel a vicious hatred for the purifiers, a desire for revenge.

But whoever killed Cayden was already amongst the dead - bodies littered the ground. They were in the middle of the street. They needed to get moving. Veil couldn't budge a muscle. She needed to lead. She could just stare in horror. She was shell shocked. She didn't register Valkyrie speaking in a weird language. She was just looking at Cayden, realizing she wouldn't hear his laugh again or see his smile.

But the world kept on turning.

"The van's two blocks south of here - we have to go," Veil said, hating that her voice sounded like a leader, as if someone hadn't just died in front of them all. She wished she sounded more tentative and timid. She moved one foot in front of the other, only to stop as she heard an achingly familiar voice.

A car had pulled up quietly in the middle of the road. "Hello, race traitors," Anastasia, the White Queen of the Hellfire Club greeted. She looked tired. She was wearing all black, as if she were on the way to a funeral.

Another door opened and out jumped Pyro. He flicked the lighter in his hands and an unnaturally large flame appeared. "Hey there, mates. Any of you know where a Dr. Hansen or a Dr. Watts might be?"

The last passenger disembarked. Havok's eyes widened and his jaw dropped in disbelief as he stared at her green hair. "Lorna... No... Damn it this has to be Mastermind again! Or or Mesmero!" he raged.

"Alex... This is me."

Sunshine

Location: Mutant Friendly Clinic - Inside
Skills: N/A
"I'd also would've expected you to not be stupid, but here we are," Sunshine said with a small smirk. She had made her peace with Jack, but that didn't mean she was going to be nice to him all of the time. No, she enjoyed insulting him just as much as any other person at the Underground... except for Max. He was her absolute favorite to shout abuse at. Sometimes she even tried to hide Fred in places she expected Max would go, just to try to scare him. Like Leighton, he reeked of big city comfort and charm. The dirt on his clothes hadn't penetrated his body.

Magik looked around the room wildly for another weapon. For some reason, it didn't occur to her to try to use her Soulsword. She opened up a drawer and grabbed the most lethal looking thing - an otoscope. "Do you hear them in the halls? The zombies? They're back! Catherine sent them... I knew she would! She cursed my eyes, determined to blind me!" Magik then darted into the hallway, her blonde hair flowing after her. She turned to her left, seeing Callie and Max towards the back.

Sunshine hurried on out after Magik, sobbing through the pain in her eyes. She had the pepper spray enter her eyes a while ago now, so while she had moments where she was calm and could handle the pain, other times sent her on edge, as she wanted to scream and writhe. A hand grenade rolled by her feet. She kicked it and a second later it exploded less than a split second later. Magik and Sunshine were thrown backwards from the force of the explosion, Sunshine hitting her head hard on the wall and blood began flowing liberally from her wound, Magik's left leg snapping on impact.

Sunshine tried to keep her eyes open, not even aware of the gigantic wound in her head as she tried to move her arms, but they felt impossibly heavy. "Idunfeelsogood..." she slurred.

The air was then peppered with bullets from five purifiers. Two of the bullets hit Max, tagging him in the left shoulder and right forearm. Spark Plug got hit once in the left thigh.

Casper Theriot

Location: Mutant Friendly Clinic - Outside
Skills: Mediumship
Casper's ears began to bleed, as if the exertion vomiting had caused a dam to burst, letting the red fluids flow. The blood trickled down his neck and crawled onto his already ratty clothing, making him look like he was trying to do a really weird Rocky Horror Picture Show inspired outfit. All he needed was a musical number and someone to make him a man. "Milk in the eeeeeyes?" Casper started cackling, bending forward at the knees as he clutched his stomach.

"Is that the new version of taking a dump on someone's porch? Do it again to Max, it'll be fun!" Casper insisted. He tried to step forward in the direction he figured the car was, only for the world to spin. The ground came up and smacked him on the face. Casper's cheek was pressed into the concrete, his ass up high in the air, as if trying to entice someone to spank him. "Floor, what're you doing in the air?" he murmured. "You're not supposed to be there... Beeeeeen, why is the floor up high? And why is everyone upside down? Is it opposite day? I always thought that was how the government hid the aliens from us..."

"I think his brain's melted," Ben said. No one but Casper could hear him and currently, M-Pox was cooking his brain, dissolving his psyche into a puddled mess... which admittedly wasn't out of the ordinary as far as Casper was concerned.

"We'll have to close down the clinic, fuck," Chan cursed. An idea popped into her head. The purifiers were inside of the building. And while she had taken an oath to do no harm, she never made any oath against being a bad driver. "I'm going to buy you all some time. If you make me regret this, I'll haunt your asses," Chan warned, before taking off at a run to the side of the building, before disappearing from sight.

Andy had been considering the woman with fantastically fluffy hair and her offer. A warm bed? That usually meant a shower. And food. Hot fresh food. Those were all lovely sounding too. She wanted that. Wanted comfort. And her coffee! She remembered that she had set it down to fight the Purifiers. She looked back towards the guy who had been shot, saw her abandoned coffee sitting there.

Andy gathered from the glance that the man had died. Her heart twisted a little at the loss of someone yet again to Purifiers. She hadn't even known the guy, and she was still sad about his death. Andy considered that thought and wondered if that meant she could trust the woman since she had been friends with the man.

Her thought process was cut off abruptly when a young man stepped out of a van. Fire spurted from his hand. It was just a step too far for her. Between the Purifiers and now, there was a fire. Her mind told her how much those flames hurt as they kissed her skin, singing off the hair. Her throat closed up, burning at the memory of trying to breathe flames. Nothing else mattered but getting away.

She spun on her foot and ran into the first building she registered as existing. It was Starbucks. Safety and coffee. Andy ducked into the building. Her brain trying to feed her information on what she might need to get to safety. Importance was not placed on Dr. Watts or his unconscious daughter, who had been the whole reason Andy had gotten involved. Or the bathroom. It was instead placed on the lone cup of hot coffee on the counter.

Andy picked it up and starting sipping. It was hot and burned, which did not help with the panic coursing through her. "Ex-" She coughed. "Excuse me, may I go out the back. There is...chaos that way." She asked the barista, begging them mentally to let them go. She just needed to go.

James Kingston

Location: Mutant Friendly Clinic
Skills: Reactive Adaptation

James let out a torrent of curse words as he tried his best not to slam his head into the wall. Seriously, why did everyone have a god damned hero complex? Everyone, minus Casper and Luna, had already decided to bolt back into the hellhole looking for Sunshine and Magik and who the hell knows what else. At this point, he was certain everyone was high on m-pox no matter what their symptoms were. After this, everyone was getting confined to bed until a cure was found. No more fucking clinic visits; James would just steal the medicine now that he knew what would help tide them over.

And of course because the Universe didn’t do anything in half measures, Casper got worse. “No, hon. It’s not.” James sighed, trying so hard not to lose his composure but he was about two seconds away from it. “Glimpse, literally every single person has told me that at this point. For the love of God, please come with me. If we lose the car, we lose an easy out when the cops show up and then everything goes from bad to worse and―” An explosion from inside the building cut him off and he paled, hoping that none of theirs were caught in that. James picked up his suffering boyfriend and gave her a pointed look.

“Look you can monitor them from out here and if you can get a lock on the assholes attacking this place, see if you can lock them down, but over half our group is in there. I need help and once the primary objective is secured, we can catch them between us and them. It’s the safest route for us and ultimately them right now.” James told Luna as he headed out. He just hoped they survived that long but he couldn’t piece them back together if he died too. He was frustrated and angry; hopefully, they left him a few skulls to crack otherwise every single one of these assholes was in for a lecture of their lives. No. Even if they did, they were still getting the lecture of a life time.

James made a mental note to invest in child leashes.

Max watched on as his vision slowly began to sync back up. No longer giving him double vision as the varicose veins began to subside and his short shallow breaths grew longer and deeper as he regained control. His head began to pound as all the pain from before made its way out leaving only this phantom pain that resounded in his head. He almost didn't believe it when he watched Jack strutting into the room and disarming Magik. His eyes grew wide as he noticed the gun, worried of what might've happened had he not taken it sooner. There was a relaxed breath for a moment before he heard the metal tang of an item clink to the ground. All he could see in that moment was Sunshine kick away a small orb and then a bright explosion. Her body flew against a wall and she appeared to be injured from the hit. Before he was able to move to her there was the loud sounds of gunshots that tinged the air that was now ringing from the loud bang of the grenade.

His eyes blink a few times in an attempt to focus when he felt two hard hits against him. The pain was similar to a large punch hitting his shoulder and forearm. His left shoulder shook and bashed against the wall he was laying on, his right forearm following to do the same. It took him a moment to realise what had happened. He had been shot. Max took shallow breaths through clenched teeth as he looked at the wounds and then tilted his head back against the wall. Now wasn't the time for fighting. There were injured teammates within the firing zone and he needed tk help them out before anything. No sense in taking out purifiers if it meant losing teammates. He decided to try something new, after all what was healing but a form of Conjuration? Through gritted teeth he placed his left hand over the wound and began to use his powers to slowly stitch himself closed. It was no Cure Major but it proved to him it was possible.

Max turned his attention over towards Sunshine, making his way over towards her as he used any furnishing he could find to hide behind and sheilf himself on the way there. "Hey. Hey. Hold still ok, you seem to have a bad head injury but I'm sure James will be on his way, until then." He took a deep breath and placed his hand near her head as he attempted to heal her. The pain must've been excruciating because she seemed to be in distress as he saw the wound get worse. Max began to panic, not wanting another life of someone in his hands, and he tried once more. "C'mon c'mon please work please." There were tears in his eyes as his voice began to waver with fear and trepidation. The wound began to close up, shrinking down to its original size and then healing just a bit more past that. How did James do this? Everytime someone needed him he managed to help them and not endager them more. He would have to remember to give the man a hug for all his hard work.

Max leaned against the same wall as where Sunshine was thrown, slowly lifting up his right hand, shaking, as a he began to conjure up a sheild for the pair to use. "stay behind this sheild. Assholes have guns and i don't want to see you die ok? So just sit still and try not to exacerbate your injury." Max tried to think outwards, incase Glimpse was listening to any mind out there in an attempt to fight the Purifiers. [i]"If anyone can hear me, Purifiers have guns and sunshine is heavily injured. We need James, i don't know how long i can defend here."[/color] The illness and his powers had drained a lot from him, making him tired and a bit lethargic.

Barry simply took a few steps back away from Sapphire, not wanting to stay near her as he understood both what she might be feeling as well as how she may not want to be comforted by him right now. Echo hadnt gottent too close to many students while at Xaviers. He knew that she and Veil were close though and he only wished that he could help his little sisters friend in need. His heart broke for Cayden and for Sapphire, letting her leave to go and do what she felt was right. When Waverly approached Barry he felt even more uncomfortable holding Cayden. Between Sapphire and now Waverly he was afraid he couldn't take his body towards the Van as needed. He could see the denial in her eyes and Barry looked away as if to not show her his face full of grief so that she could cling to her fantasy for a moment more. The girl had already lost her mother, she didnt need to lose a friend too.

As that was going on Echo was dealing with a much different problem. The little green haired girl continued to show how edgy she could be as she spat out some other language and murdered the final purifier before him while looking at Echo dead in the eyes. His jaw wanted to drop, wondering where this child thought she was and who exactly she is. She had skills sure, but much like him when he was younger, she needed to learn control. Flames suddenly began to lick their faces as some Hellfire Club wannabees came strolling out of a car. They opened with a cheesy line and even cheesier display of power. "Careful now, I'd hate for you to singe my hair." He gave them a stern look as his fingers fiddled with his phone without even having to look. Echo had ordered from the Starbucks app more times that he could count and he knew exactly where it was on his phone and where the mobile order section is. His eyes glanced down as he quickly changed his first name to "Please get Dr" and his last name to "Watts out back". He ordered an iced venti 8 pump light ice chai and gave a generous tip of 50 dollars as he sent the order to the Starbucks before him. Hopefully they'd get the message and send them off to safety.

Echo cooked his hip to the side as he put his phone away. "Im sorry I don't mean to be rude but when you strolled up here demanding things of me I just had to check Google and Google maps to see if I can find where you got the audacity. As it turns out thats no where to be found so if you and your little motley crew would get out of our way we can all have a peaceful time hn?" He gave them all a terribly fake smile, the kind a Karen gives to an employee after berating them to get a manager. As he did his two of his remaining duplicates came out to join the fray in a hopefully intimidating fashion. Dammit Larry why don't you ever show up for band practice!?

Callie Johnson

Location: Mutant Friendly Clinic
Skills: Electricity Manipulation

Callie continued to try and search for both Magik and Sunshine, she wasn't sure where they all had gone off to either, and her blurry and stinging eyes weren't even helping either as well which was even more annoying to. When she heard a few gunshots going off Callie groaned in pain as she stumbled back losing her balance. She shook her head slightly as she looked down at her left thigh seeing a bullet wound there. Callie winced as she got back up to her feet again seeing five Purifiers coming in now and held out her hand, she couldn't really get a good look at them but fired off randomly, managing to take down one of the Purifiers easily when she heard an explosion going off as well.

Callie turned around, as she limped her way back, squinting her eyes a bit she noticed Magik on the ground and Sunshine who was laying against a wall not looking good at all. Max managed to get to her, and Callie went in and gently offered an arm to help her up and pulled Magik up to her feet. She wasn't in any good condition to fight really either as she slowly started to make her way back towards the back door. "We need to get going now."

Kristina looked at Watts and gave him a little bit of an annoyed look towards him, but she didn't really say anything it was out of her profession anyway as well. But she watched as Watts went ahead and started to tend to his daughter, looking at the other people who were inside she didn't know who any of them are at all really. She didn't really want to go out and leave the safety of the Starbucks really either since there could be some more Purifiers that could come out. Kristina made her way over towards the window of the Starbucks though to see who all was outside at the moment.

Kristina noticed a car pulling up and several people coming out, she wasn't sure who they were but Kristina instantly started to get Brotherhood vibes from them, but more richer and fancier or something than anything Magneto's people had. She instantly didn't trust them at all one bit either. She was inside the building and couldn't hear at all what any of them were saying either or why they were there in the first place.

"I totally get that, it's completely understandable Watts, don't worry..." she responded to him, before she walked over to Kristina and whispered to her, "Don't mind him, he's like that with a lot of people, he's talked like that to me for most of the time I've known him, actually recently is really the only time I haven't truly had him just randomly yelling at me. Sadly you get used to it, that's just the way Watts is, and always have been, especially when it comes to his kids. Just don't let him get to you about it, okay? But word of advice, sometimes it's best to just leave him be for a few moments if you can..."

Sapphire glanced down at her hands for a moment, which were still covered in Cayden's blood, and she looked up and out the window, just in time to see the Hellfire Club of all people show up, and her eyes grew wide at that. "Oh no, no no no no no, I expected them to be the first ones to show up before the Purifiers if I'm being honest," she said outloud, before she whirled around and rushed back over to Watts and Leda She really was hoping that Leda was okay, and figured that she might want to see about talking with Watts still, before the Hellfire Club decided to come knocking on the door of the Starbucks. "Not sure Watts, think she did pretty damn good for never having really been in a combat situation before, but I do agree she should probably not go rushing in head first, you've had to deal with enough people like that before, I should know," she said with an eye roll, looking at the two of them. "Glad to hear she's going to be okay though." As she spoke she was still fiddling her hands, almost as if she was doing that subconsciously.

"Not sure, this world is really weird, I show up in the area a little over an hour ago, no idea where I am or anything like that, and then suddenly everyone decides to shoot at me or something. It's so strange," she said out loud, not really answering Veil's question one way or the other. Her attention still seemed to be more on the robotic eyeball in her hands. "Don't worry Mr. Eyeball, we'll fix you right up, you won't feel a thing, trust me on that one." The way that Zari spoke to the robotic eye seemed almost like someone trying to reassure someone who had been injured that they were going to be okay. Looking over, she noticed Andy running away like crazy as the people showed up. "Hey! Where are you going?" she called out to her before she disappeared.

"Oh well," she continued with a shrug, before she started focusing her powers, closing her eyes as the robotic parts in her hand started swirling around, reconnecting as they went, and soon, floating in the air, was Mr. Eyeball, and the robot didn't have a scratch on him. "Yay! Mr. Eyeball you're okay!" she said happily hugging the robot, who seemed to everyone else beep very loudly, but it's tone was clearly happy. Her attention finally turned to look at the Hellfire Club people. "Who are you people?" she asked them.

"Be nice, you can't judge everyone like that," she said out loud, before looking over at the Hellfire Club people. "Hi there, I'm Zarina Patriya, Valkyrie in Training, so who the hell are you people? I want to know!"

His mind was starting to clear a little bit, and for what felt like the first time in a while, he could at the least seem to think somewhat clearly. "Wow so nice to me Rookie," he said, lowering the gun and pointing it at the ground now. "You really ought to be nicer to people you know," he added, before he followed after both her and Magik. The explosion startled him a bit, and was not helping with the dizzy spell he had come over him as he zig zagged out into the hallway now to see the carnage. His blood ran cold when he saw Sunshine's injury, and he started freaking out about what to potentially do to help her, and deal with the Purifiers that were headed their way.

Max helped out, or at least seemed to after a few tries, which was nice, but given how the injury looked to have worsen at first made his heart skip a beat, worried that he might have killed her, but after the second try he seemed to help her a little bit. "Going to be blunt, if you had actually killed her I might have out right shot you on the spot," he said as he raised the weapon that was still in his hand and started firing it off. The first few shots missed entirely. "Okay how the hell do people use these things correctly?" he muttered, before his last shot at the least managed to hit one of them in the knee. "No time like the present to learn how to aim I guess."

Luna Braddock - Glimpse

Location: Mutant Friendly Clinic -- Washington D.C.
Skills: Telepathy - Binding

Luna glared slightly at James as he started dictating to her and she clenched her fists, holding back a retort. James was her friend, the closest one she had here and he was panicking. How many people had he witnessed die, Luna included. She looked back at the door just when the explosion hit and she flinched from that and the following gunshots. Jack had gone in just before the explosion and after the gun shots, another couple went off and she hoped it was him who had slugged someone and picked up a gun.
She looked back but James was already heading out the door towards the car. She cursed, torn between two things and decided to dive back into her head and the heads of the others in the hallway that she couldn’t see.
She easily got a headcount on the Purifiers and there were eight in total but she couldn’t get a headcount on the Underground team which aggravated her. She tried concentrating more and felt Max’s mind reaching out before she heard his words. Luna turned, moving closer to James. ”Eight Purifiers but Sunshine is injured badly according to Max. I can’t get a headcount on the Underground members,” Luna confessed.
Luna moved back towards the door that led to the hallway and shut her eyes again. She focused on the eight Purifiers, entering their minds once more in an attempt to bind them in place. She succeeded easily and Luna smirked, pleased her power didn’t fail her. As much as people didn’t like her power it came in handy.
”I’ve bound the Purifiers in place. Can I go in and drag people out now or would you like the honors,” she asked James. She knew Casper wasn’t doing well but one of them should go in there just in case all those shots that went off were more hits on their team.

Waverley Watts - Feedback

Location: George Washington University
Skills: Pop Culture Knowledge, Radio Wave Manipulation, Sound Wave Manipulation

Waverley could feel her nose starting to run, and the tears that had been prickling at her eyes for a few moments had pooled over, falling over her eyelids and down her cheeks. Her embrace of Cayden was interrupted by the sound of a car pulling up nearby. Her hope was, of course, that it was the ambulance come to take Cayden away, though the lack of sirens made that unlikely. She raised her head, looking in the direction of the new arrivals, and she squinted when she saw them. She recognized two of them: one being Anastasia Reinhardt, a privileged girl from a wealthy family rumored online to be members of the illuminati, and the other, more intimating one with fire pouring out his hand was Pyro, a Brotherhood terrorist. Waverley's eyes went wide when she saw them, and she stepped away from Barry.

"Get him to the ambulance. We'll keep these guys busy," Waverley sniffled, her voice cracking as she did. She wiped her tears away with her sweater sleeve, clearing her throat as she did, as if trying to wipe the worry for her friend away before the imminent battle began. And it seemed to work well enough. Her mind wanted nothing more than to release the tension that had built up inside her. When the green-haired kid introduced herself as a Valkyrie-in-training, Waverley's eyebrows furrowed. She was confused at first; Valkyries were from Norse mythology. Surely she wasn't the real deal. She was probably part of some similarly-named street gang. Then again, Thor turned out to be real, so maybe the Valkyries were too. "Those aren't friends, Valkyrie." She then turned to the group of newly arrived Hellfire goons, their malicious intent almost palpable. Forcing herself to focus on her breathing and the car, she reached out her mind, emitting the radio waves for Billy Idol's Rebel Yell and sending them in the direction of the car's radio. But when she fed them into it, a different song began to play in its place. Waverley's eyebrows popped up in surprise, before she nodded.

"I...can work with this," she quietly said, her eyes still glued on the car. She could feel those same waves from earlier, strong and concrete, unlike the abstract waves Waves was used to. They were pouring out of the radio. She harnessed them with her mind, splitting them into thirds, aiming those thirds at each of their three adversaries. And once they were positioned, she poured herself into them, amplifying the sound. It felt like revving an engine. When she did, two of the three were launched away from the car, with the attack on the Reinhardt girl narrowly missing. Waverley's eyes went wide, surprised by her own success. Her eyes then scanned her own allies, being the Echo clones and Havok, before finally landing on Veil. Oftentimes she had to think about what to nickname the Underground's temporary subgroups, but this one was came easy. "So are we gonna bolt, or do we wanna show these guys the full power of the Underground AV Club?" she said as she picked back up the Hello Kitty baseball bat.

George Washington University: Starbucks...

The barista had been crouched behind the counter with a baseball bat, clearly not thrilled with the chaos going on outside. No one was making any new orders or checking mobile ones coming in. A shiny name tag identified them as Morgan - it was impossible to mentally assign a gender to them, as thinking they looked feminine only accented their masculine features and vice versa. "You'll want to go with her," Morgan told Andy, nodding over at the brunette, Sapphire. "You'll die within the hour if you go out the back."

Leda was becoming a bit more coherent from the second. Maybe she had some sort of healing ability as well in addition to her rainbow powers? She had only received her powers a few days ago. For all they knew, she could also have the power to breathe water and speak to fishes, like a knock-off Aquaman from DC Comics (the Flash was Leda's favorite, though). "I can hear you all," Leda protested to Sapphire and her father.

"I take it you know those asswipes?" Watts cursed, looking out the window at the new arrivals. He instinctively put a hand on his wrist, trying to inject speed serum into his body, but the watch wasn't there. He had left it in a lock box at the hotel room. The speed serum as it was currently was killing him - and he hadn't found a fix for it just yet, since he had been focusing on helping his children. "Alright, Sapphire, here's what you do. Fighting them will waste time we don't have. You're going to freeze those three fuckwads alive. Just walk out the door and make the biggest, baddest glacier out of them that you can. If they die, I doubt you'll give a shit. If they live, the cops will throw them in the Raft to rot."

Veil

Location: George Washington University: the Street
Skills: N/A
"I got it from Amazon, mate," Pyro told Echo cheekily with a wink. "Say, after all of this is over, maybe I can give you a more close up demonstration? You know what they say about those of us with pyrokinesis... We know how to make things HOT." Anastasia shot him a look at disgust, though there wasn't any hint of surprise. Pyro must have been a bit of a serial flirter, hitting on every attractive man he saw that pinged his gaydar. The poor Australian criminal just needed to get laid.

Valkyrie struck Veil as the most naive and clueless person she had ever met - and seemingly a bit insane. She had heard of those with powers over metal having a higher rate of mental disorders, something with the magnetism impacting their brain. It seemed like maybe the same was true for technopaths. It would explain a lot about Valkyrie, especially her comments about being from another world and having no knowledge as to how bad it was to be a mutant at the moment. "Valkyrie, careful. They're the Hellfire Club. Mutant supremacists who kill anyone who gets in their way," Veil warned.

The ambulance arrived on the scene, separated from Cayden's corpse by the Hellfire Club. No one moved from the vehicle, likely realizing that the area was still unsafe, as hostile mutants were having some sort of turf war in the streets. The wheels of the ambulance screeched as the car was suddenly put into reverse and sent far, far away - the mistress of magnetism, Polaris, hardly breaking a sweat as she got back up to her feet.

"I don't want to fight you. We're here to get help from Hansen and Watts and that's it. No one is going to get hurt," Polaris promised. Pyro sulked a bit in the background and Ana glared daggers at Magneto's daughter, increasingly angry about her position in the Hellfire Club's hierarchy being overlooked.

"Lorna, this isn't you! You're part of the Mutant Underground! You help people! You're not like your dad!" Havok pleaded, his guard down. "Come back to me, please..."

Polaris shook her head. "The Mutant Underground is a bandaid. Mutants are dying everywhere. The X-Men don't care, not bothering with them. The only way to help mutants is to create our own society, to separate from humanity. We're actually doing something here in the Hellfire Club. We're not pretending and playing superhero."

"That's a lovely speech, Polaris, but we're on a schedule," Ana reminded her. "So we'll ask you race traitors again - do you know where those doctors are? Or will I have to go find them myself? It won't be pleasant if my hand is forced."

Veil steeled her gaze on the Hellfire Club, trying to think of a strategy. Not only did they need to get their people safe and out of here, she couldn't allow them to find Hansen or Watts. Polaris wasn't thinking straight if she thought the Hellfire Club was the answer to collective mutant suffering - they had hurt more mutants than they had helped so far. Havok was a complication in all of this. She doubted he could fight his love. Her team was mourning, grieving for Cayden. And then there was Valkyrie, just a kid mixed up in all of this.

But this was the Hellfire Club - they wouldn't get out of this without a fight. "Yeah, Feedback. Let's show them what some kids from Hawkins can do."

Sunshine

Location: Mutant Friendly Clinic - Inside
Skills: N/A
Sunshine was dimly aware of someone messing around with her wound. She wasn't coherent enough to really tell if she was being healed or not, just knowing that someone was there. A shield then appeared in front of them and it solidified for her the identity of who her helper was - it must have been the gorgeous Russian blonde, Magik. "Magik, my hero..." Sunshine half swooned, half mumbled. Maybe Magik returned her feelings for her, since she had just saved her life. It couldn't have been Max, he was too stupid to conjure anything properly that wasn't on fire. Jack and Spark Plug and all couldn't have done it, so it had to be Magik. Sunshine was vaguely aware that she moved her hand up, feeling around for Magik's hand or face in order to show appreciation.

BOOM! SCREEEEECH!

A second ago, there had been a hallway with walls and an army of seemingly stunned anti-mutant supremacists. Now there was a heavily damaged truck surrounded by wreckage and carnage, at least five of the Purifiers caught underneath its tires. The airbags inside had blown and the door was almost entirely jammed. Doctor Chan stuck her head outside of the window, just able to get it to roll down with the hand crank. "You all need to scram, now! I'll handle this! Go, run, get out, vamoose, allez-allez, whatever you need to hear just GO!" Blood was trickling down her face and she had a bit of a manic smile.

"UNHAND ME, CATHERINE!" Magik screamed at Spark Plug. She swung her otoscope, trying to hit her in the face with it, but she went wide and the otoscope flew out of her hand and clattered to the ground.

Sunshine giggled, before her face somehow became even paler. Magik was over there by Spark Plug. And she was also right next to her with the shield she had conjured. Magik couldn't clone herself. Sunshine was pretty certain of that. There was only one person then who could have been behind her with the shield, only one person who could have gone to her and tried to help. "You can let me die now," she murmured sadly to Max.

Casper Theriot

Location: Mutant Friendly Clinic - Outside
Skills: Mediumship
"If the floor isn't in the sky, and it's not on the ground, then where is it?" Casper asked James seriously. He was still obviously in the throws of the delirium induced M-Pox - or really it could have just been an ordinary evening for Casper back when he actively used drugs. That was one nice thing about these symptoms. The only ghost he could communicate with was Ben and even Ben's form was beginning to flicker. "WAIT ARE WE ON MARS? I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO GO TO PIGFARTS!" Casper squealed, clapping his hands happily. "Do they have mimosas on Mars? That's my dream. To chill with a martian and sip mimosas and listen to the YMCA theme in German on loop!"

"But... you don't speak German. You speak French," Ben reminded Casper.

"I do too speak German! You just gotta put your hand high in the air and use an angry voice, Ben, god eeeeveryone knows that!" He tilted his head as he heard Glimpse's count on everything going down. His brain only processed bits and pieces of the information in a jumbled mess. "Awww, no fun, you're going to end their party when it just got started? That's so lame of you!" Casper complained. "I bet purifiers have sick dance moves... moves like Jagger... they could teach me how to boogie! Teach me teach me how to boogie!"

There was then the sound of a large crash. "Aaaaand they have a DJ! No fair! I wanna go dance with them! I wanna dance with somebody! I wanna feel the heat with somebody!"

Andy was completely confused by the barista Morgan's proclamation that Andy would die within an hour if she went out the back door of the Starbucks. Also thoroughly terrifying. Since Andy had gotten herself (mostly) away from the source of the fire, she was starting to calm down; it helped that she was still holding the forgotten cup of coffee, which Morgan had blissfully said nothing about.

Andy looked over at the ice lady. She knew she was friends with the dead guy and had been at the thing that the doctor had been speaking at. It appeared like she was...well cool, and not likely to kill Andy. Add in that the fluffy-haired woman had offered a warm bed Andy felt moderately comfortable with the idea of joining the woman. Hey, the girl seemed to be doing okay too. Andy took a long drink of hot coffee. Instead of causing her mind to flash with the burning fear of dying in a fire, it calmed her down like it was supposed to.

She stepped over to the doctor and brunette. "I can help." She proclaimed. "Also, the barista told me if I didn't go with you, I'd die within the hour, and not dying is one of my favorite past times." Sure, Andy had a healthy dose of 'fuck it' suicidal tendencies, but she wasn't stupid. Even if the barista Morgan terrified her in a way she couldn't quite put her finger on, the decree they had told Andy was too unsettling to ignore.

There was no need for her to display her power; they had already seen her fight. She did need to put on the caveat that she wouldn't go anywhere near the dude with the fire. "However, I need to get close and personal, and I'm not going near the guy with the fire."

Callie Johnson

Location: Mutant Friendly Clinic -> Outside
Skills: Empathy

Callie stopped to turn her head to look over her shoulder when she heard a loud screeching sound and a crash seeing a truck crashing into the wall crushing five Purifiers under it and seeing the doctor who appeared a bit injured from the impact seeing the headwound that she received from the crash. "Thank you." Callie said, she still wasn't feeling the best as she continued to help Magik despite her protests and trying to hit her with the otoscope in her hand. "One, I'm not Catherine, and two you really need to calm down now and focus on something else." Callie said, they could have gone and left already by now if Magik hadn't decided to go and try to play a really drunk hero.

Callie used her empathy to have her focus on something else so she wouldn't hit her again Magik. Callie looked over at Max and Sunshine as well as Jack. Callie tried to wipe away some of the tears in her eyes once more with her she wasn't sure if Sunshine was okay to be moved or not, Callie could feel her stomach again. As she held back some vomit in her mouth wincing as she swallowed it back down the bullet wound in her thigh wasn't helping things either. But they needed to get out of here really fast right now more could be on the way as well for all she knew. ]"Get her up and moving we need to head out the back now." Callie said.

Kristina Smith

Location: Starbucks
Skills: Laser Eyes

Kristina turned her attention over towards Sapphire as she whispered to her, and looked over towards Watts and his daughter Leda and nodded towards her she could understand. "You certainly picked a really grumpy friend." Kristina said jokingly towards Sapphire as she turned her attention over towards the really rich group of people. She focused mostly on Ana, she couldn't hear anything what they were really saying but she had a feeling that they were a huge threat. The green haired woman not the girl who kept talking to the eyeball which she still thought was really weird and creepy in her own opinion sent the ambulance moving backwards.

Kristina focused on Ana and shot a really powerful eye blast sadly Ana blocked it with her telekinesis and hearing a loud explosion as a rather large crater formed not to far from them. "I wasn't expecting it to be that powerful.." Kristina said as she focused again, and shot out another, managing to hit her, but was pretty pathetic, she fired off a third but only managed to destroy a stop sign.

Maximillian Gray

Location: Mutant Friendly Clinic > Outside
Skills: ConjurationNew Outfit

Max sat behind the conjured sheild, taking a brief respite in the small reguge he had created for him and Sunshine. His breathing had slowed down as he could feel the aches catching up to him. He looked at Sunshine for a moment before his attention was pulled by the sound of crackling electricity. He couldn't fully see her but he knew Callie must've been nearby and attempting to fight off the Purifiers that lay before them. He was so worried about how badly he could mess up a shot, how much damage he could cause with a misplaced bit of magic, that he hadn't worried about fighting. He only wanted to make sure his team was alive and that they could leave to see another day. Not to mention that he didn't need anymore reason for Casper to turn his gaze from him. He knew it wasn't Caspers fault that he could see the ghosts of those that were killed, but it still felt cold everytime he avoided making eye contact.

Max let out a soft Tch as he heard Jacka two cents. "I wont lie to you. If I had killed her I'd probably of just killed myself after. I'm not in the habit of taking lives." He leaned his head back, trying to garner as much rest as he could before his next move. Hearing Jack complain about firing off a gun he began to wonder how thr detective ever managed. "Spread your legs into a triangle. We use that to stabilize ourself in photography when we dont have a tri-pod. Take aim but don't close your eye or it'll shift your target. Then pull the trigger and remember there's recoil. Really shooting a gun and shoot a photograph have a lot of similarities." I think. He wasnt actually sure if any of the information he gave out was sound advice, but it sure enough was true for photography and they seemed to be relatively similar principles.

Sunshine finally began to speak, saying Magik was her hero and he began to feel extremely awkward. So long as she didn't fully come to them he could let her believe that he wasn't the one to rescue her. Before he could do anything however there was a large crash. Max peered to thr side to see a car now in the building as Dr. Chan yelled at everyone to get out. It seemed the healing coupled with the loud crash was enough to bring Sunshine to as he told Max to let her die. "Sorry kid. Not gonna happen." It was now or never. Max began to heal her some more, doing much better than before and making her healthy enough to be able to move without worry. He was about to lift her out when he realized she'd probably kill him before he had the chance. "You should be good to move now, I seemed to be able to heal you most of the way through so you're not as critical. I think that car took care of the purifiers so how about we get out of here and to James and the car huh?"

Max slolwy stood up, his fatigue catching up to him once more as his legs began to feel like spaghetti and his head continued to pound. He took a deep breath before placing one foot in front of the other and making his way out. Now that the purifiers were dealt with he felt confident enough to speak out. "Sunshine is fine! She should be good to move! How's the getaway coming?"

Echo

Location: George Washington University
Skills: SoundnWaveManipulation

Echo could feel the tension in the air as Waverly joined the fight. The Valkyrie seemed to be more oblivious than he was as to who these wannabes were and actually extended what seemed a friendly chat to them. Granted Waverly and Veil made sure to let her know otherwise. Echo wasn't fully involved in the lives of everyone at the Mutant Underground, but it appeared as though Havok had some major history with Polaris. He felt for the guy, really, but now wasn't the time for idle chatter when one of them was clearly a pyromaniac. Waverly seemed to change the tune of the radio, playing 'Uptown Girl' (One of Echos all time favorites) and then using its soundwaves to blast two out of thr three opponents. His eyes glimmers with excitement as he thought about the prospect of a new band mate or the very least teaching someone who had a similar skill set than he did. "Nice choice. I'd of gone with Elton John's 'Saturday Nights Alright (For Fighting)' but I will never turn down a good Billy Joel."

His face grew flush as Pyro began to flirt with him incessantly. It'd only been two months since the loss of his love and he hadn't really considered the prospect of another person let alone idle flirting. He was hot sure enough, and who didn't love a bad boy? But he didn't think he was ready to move on just yet. Echo did however speak flirtation as a second language so it would only be natural to flirt back and possibly garner an new ally. "You might be hot stuff there but are you sure you can handle all of me?" He motioned towards all his clones, giving Pyro a very suggestive wink to help drive the point home.

An extremely powerful blast came out of nowhere and little miss coven had managed to not only block it but deflect it and create a crater in the road. She was clearly a major threat and to be dealt with first. "Before we go and do all that however, hows about a little dance?" He caught onto the chorus of the song and condensed the waves into beams of UV Energy to be shot as Ana. Jerry and Harry seemed to miss their marks while Terry landed a blow but Barry really took it home. His pitch was just right as the beam bore through Ana's eye and killed her as it fried her brain. There was a mix of feelings bubbling inside of Echo now. He was glad to of taken down an opponent but upset that it was in death. Still...Billy Joel was playing and he was in his skates so... The man began to dance in place, singing along perfectly as he matched the pitch and carried on. "And when she's walking
She's looking so fine
And when she's talking
She'll say that she's mine

Man i love this song"

Location: Mutant Friendly Clinic -> The Car
Skills: Reactive Adaptation

“They aren’t partying there, hon. Just people being dumb.” James sighed, shifting his delirious boyfriend a little and sighing. The frustration drained out of him as a loud crash shuddered through the building and the fatigue of the week came back with a vengeance. Getting upset right now wouldn’t help anything. He shrugged at Luna. He didn’t have the energy to be frustrated with Sunshine honestly. She was getting a hell of a lecture later but for now, he was just focused on keeping her alive. “We might as well. I can patch up Sunshine on the way.” He made his way through the nightmare scene of the clinic, frowning at Max when he mentioned Sunshine was suddenly okay.

“How did you stabilize her? I didn’t know you knew first aid.” James asked, surprised. Maybe it was something he picked up in the other world or during his time at the Hellfire club. Either way, he was thankful for it. He definitely wasn’t up to his normal capacity. He wasn’t confident he could have fixed her all the way. “It’s going fantastic, Max. Just start heading to the car. I’m ready for this to be done and get you all back to bed and medicated.” James sighed again, heading towards the car. He’d think about what to learn from this mess on the drive home.

"Right, yeah, I know them, have had more then a few run ins with them, they sometimes tend to have a bit of a superiority complex. Imagine like Magneto and his Brotherhood, but really really rich, and a bit stuck up to go along with it, they aren't nice at all," she said to Watts, before turning her attention slightly towards Andy when she came over and spoke to her, and she had a bit of a confused look on her face with her words. "Uh okay then, well I'm Sapphire, and not dying is a great past time and something I don't do very well at since I've ended up nearly dead more then a few times. Actually if it wasn't for him," she added, nodding towards Watts, "I probably already would be."

She glanced over as Kristina went out the doors already and started firing off her laser blasts. "Welp, definitely can say that is cool. And kid, going to be blunt, odds are you aren't going to get anywhere near them easily without probably getting hit a few times, or worse," she told Andy bluntly, her hands balling up into fists as her hair turned white and she headed for the door, "If you want to help, just be careful, I don't need another death on my conscience today..." With those last words she stepped outside, frost emanating from her hands before she sent a blast of ice flying at Pyro.

He retaliated by sending a blast of flames directly into it, creating a blinding bright light effect as the fire and ice seemed to swirl and crowd together before disappearing. Her next attack missed him entirely, before a blast of flames in the shape of a bird hit her, causing her hair to start smoking. "Okay, this is getting annoying," she said, before her last blast of frost destroyed his phoenix creation and hit him, knocking him backwards a little bit.

"Oh, okay, bad people, probably need to deal with them, that's fun and apparently there is probably a long story as to why you all seem to know the other person in the area with green hair. This is really weird, but also kind of cool, and wow did you just totally annihilate her brains or whatever you did to the blonde chick cause I really want to know what it looks like when someone's brains are fried or scrambled or something. Then again I really want to know what a brain looks like anyway think I'd be able to look at that later or what? But that was so coooooooooooooool!!!!! Okay, rant over, these people are just plain weird in my mind wonder what else can happen."

"What? No I'm not!" she said, instantly turning to look at the floating eye near her.

"01011001 01100101 01110011 00100000 01111001 01101111 01110101 00100000 01100001 01110010 01100101."

"No I'm not!"

"Ugh fiiiiiiiiiiiiiine you party pooper!" she yelled at the eye, before she simply picked up the robotic head again and glanced over at the others in the area. "Well this should be fun, Mr. Jaws, bite!" she commented before she threw Mr. Jaws straight at Polaris, who then proceeded to bite her on the head. "Bullseye!" she cheered, before pulling out the flashlight again and turning it back into a sword.

"Okay Max, going to be blunt, doubt you've actually fired a gun off before either really but eh, whatever," he commented, before he kept the guns pointed directly towards the Purifiers more then prepared to fire it off again, when something suddenly came crashing through the wall. The person who came barreling through the wall with her car was the last person he would have expected to see, it was Dr. Chan, who seemed to think that the hallway in front of them with Purifiers in it was the perfect parking spot. "Alright, did not see that one coming, but nice parking job!" Jack commented towards the Doctor as she instructed them to get out of there.

"Okay Rookie, no time to dawdle, and no dying allowed, so let's get going!" he said towards Sunshine, grabbing her arm and helping her to her feet, before he proceeded to drag her along. She fought against him, but he didn't really care and was easily stronger then her as he dragged her back to where the others were. "How about everyone does less dying and more let's get the hell out of here sort of thing. Also what is Casper talking about? Anyone able to tell or has his symptoms gotten worse?" he asked, still dragging Sunshine with one hand, and still carrying the gun in his other hand.

Luna Braddock - Glimpse

Location: Mutant Friendly Clinic -- Washington D.C.
Skills:

Luna nodded at James, ignoring loopy Casper and walked through to the hallway. She no longer had a look into the purifiers' minds but she didn’t tell James that as she left to go check on the others. She heard Max when she walked into the hallway but started coughing from the dust due to the side of the building being blown out but what appeared to be the doctor in a truck. Five purifiers were under the wheels and Magik was being wrangled by Spark Plug.
Luna looked back at Max and questioned what he said about everything being fine now. ”Not even five minutes ago you said she was dying. What happened?” She looked back over at the wreckage and confirmed that all of the purifiers’ were either under the truck or dazed. Now would be a great time to bugger off with all of their people before the purifiers came to. It seemed most of them were of the same mentality and Luna followed them back to the room she was just in, making way to the exit and hopeful escape.

Waverley Watts - Feedback

Location: George Washington University
Skills: Hiding

"I'll be sure to add it to the battle playlist," Waverley said in response to Echo's comment. Technically speaking there wasn't an actual battle playlist, but that was going to change as soon as she got back to the Underground. She'd have to get everyone's suggestions, though it might be best to wait to ask Cayden and the M-pox victims until they were all feeling better. Waverley's expression changed, though, when the more reasonable-seeming of their enemies gave a vague explanation of what the Hellfire Club had in store. "Wait, a society of mutants? That's your plan?" Waverley asked. She tilted her head, and though she didn't lower her bat, there was a moment of hesitation that flashed across her face as she thought about it. After a moment though, she shook her head, her expression befuddled. "Do you...do you take feedback? Because I don't think that's a very good idea. I mean, you do know what societies do, right? They fight other societies. A place where every citizen is only a few training sessions away from being a weapon of mass destruction...when your little homeland eventually wages war, which all societies eventually do, it won't be pretty for anyone." As she spoke, her words came it a little timid and uncertain, but even so they rung clear through the air. After she finished speaking she tensed back up, remembering they were in a battle. As she tried to decide which of the members of this so called 'Hellfire Club' (how they could think their the good guys with a name like that she couldn't figure out), she saw Sapphire step out of the Starbucks, throwing a number of ice attacks at the fire guy. What ensued was like something out of an anime, with fire and ice colliding in the middle of the street, and the blonde goon being barraged by a number of lasers, one of which ended up sending her to the ground.

In all the chaos, Waverley scanned the battlefield, looking for a way to be useful. She wasn't confident enough in her newly found ability to use in the chaos of battle. Hell, so far it only had a 66% success rate when it came to people standing still. After a few seconds, her eyes finally landed on the Hellfire Club's car. She raised her eyebrows, a new idea popping into her head. Using the fight as a distraction, she quietly and quickly made her way towards the vehicle that had been pushed away from the fight. Once she had climbed inside, she looked out the windshield to see Sapphire and Pyro still locked in combat. It seemed like a plenty fair fight, though it looked to her like Pyro was just barely in the lead. So she took it upon herself to even the scale a little bit. After putting on her seatbelt, she stepped down on the gas and the car sped forward, straight at Pyro. She felt the car connect with his body, and as a moment after she hit her mark, she skidded to a stop, hoping the hit would be enough to send him down for the count.
