A supply raid by the Morlocks goes up in flames. The Mutant Underground goes to a homeless shelter to save mutant children from the Purifiers. Glimpse warns the Mutant Underground of a nefarious plot.

Episode Three - the Mutant Massacre

• The Mutant Underground investigates the Hellfire Club, looking for information on Shaw and the deadly Hound program. Ward and the Purifiers attack the Morlocks, armed with a vicious sentinel provided by Sebastian Shaw. Hounds Magik and Vulcan attack the Mutant Underground, under the influence of Drug X. Benedict Ryan calls for Congress to deputize the Purifiers in response to the brutal murder of a cop.

Episode Four - You Either Die a Hero

After the assassination of Sebastian Shaw, the Hellfire Club finds new leadership. Jinx and Anastasia fight off SHIELD and kidnap Legion, the son of Professor X. The Mutant Underground has a rematch with Vulcan at JFK Memorial Hospital. Meanwhile, the Mutant Underground also investigates Mister Sinister’s secret laboratory underneath the Cherry Bomb, fighting Nightcrawler and the Marauders! Leighton and Max make a choice that could change everything.

Episode Five - Or Become the Villain

• THE SEASON FINALE! The Mutant Underground is on a mission to destroy Sinister's lab and save the mutants held captive there. Anti-mutant sentiment is at an all time high, as members of Reverend William Stryker’s church, the Hope of Humanity, riot in the streets. Jinx makes new friends in the Raft - guest starring Luminous, Doctor Doom, and the Scarlet Witch!

SEASON TWO
Episode One - Aftermath

• The world may have been restored after House of M, but things can never be the same again. Secrets come to light as Reeva and the Hellfire Club attempt to assassinate a mysterious young girl with ties to the Children of the Vault. The Mutant Underground struggles to achieve their mission with emotions and tensions running high. Veil's brother, Echo, joins the fight!

Episode Two - Mourning

• Mutants across the globe are dying from a mysterious disease called M-Pox - and the Mutant Underground is not unaffected. Polaris and the Hellfire Club scheme to turn world leaders into mutants, using technology developed by Dr. John Watts and owned by AIM. Sapphire tries to make contact with an old friend. Battles with the X-Cutioner, sentinels, and purifiers result in heavy losses. Introducing Valkyrie, Stareyes, and Thundering Champion!

Episode Three - Sins of the Father

• For mysterious reasons, Jack kidnaps Sunshine. The Brotherhood of Mutants attacks the Mutant Underground, as Magneto demands the return of his daughter, Polaris. Sunshine and Max take an unplanned, haunted vacation on Island M!

Episode Four - Misery Loves Company

• Professor X sends Quicksilver with M-Pox cures for the Mutant Underground, with a caveat: they have to undergo a dangerous mission to stop the Hellfire Club from giving the President of the United States an artificial x-gene. Meanwhile, the Mutant Underground investigates a tip that Max and Sunshine were spotted at the Glitter Factory, only to have a deadly encounter with the X-Cutioner!

Episode One - Welcome to Genosha

• In the aftermath of the deadly battle with the X-Cutioner, our heroes wake up in paradise. A mutant nation, run by mutants and for mutants, where human trappings such as capitalism simply do not exist. James, Sunshine, and Jack have been awake for months and have adapted to this strange new land. Sapphire, sadly, sacrificed herself and didn't make it. No longer fighting for their lives, can our heroes find new purpose?

Episode Two - Tales of Genosha

• The heroes of Genosha kick it back, island style! Zari and Andy have tea with their foster father, Magneto. Renegade and Moneta catch each other up on their lives. Echo meets a mysterious new beau. Max trains with Selene's coven in mutant magic. Spark Plug and Veil help Jack investigate his father, the immoral Mister Sinister! Kristina, Sunshine, and Waverley train at the Akademos. Casper, James, and Havok break in the Tiki Bar.

Episode Three - the 198

• ATTACK OF THE CHILDREN OF THE VAULT! Mutants aren't the only ones claiming to be the next step in evolution, destined to inherit the planet. The Children of the Vault, artificially evolved humans, are here to wipe out homo superior. The island is burning. No one is safe. Can mutantkind defend its shores?

Episode Four - Destiny of X

• New members are added to the Quiet Council, Genosha's ruling body - James, Spark Plug, and Veil have been chosen to represent Genosha's heroes. Zarina and her foster father, Magneto have a falling out; Andy gets her inheritance from her birth mother. Casper and James build their new family; Moneta tries giving motherhood a second chance. A powerful new mutant circuit aims to resurrect Ben Hargreeves! Jack makes a deal with the devil.

Episode Five - the Hellfire Gala

• SERIES FINALE! The mutants of Genosha are celebrating life in the wake of the massacre committed by the Children of the Vault. With top talent performing and drinks from across the known universe, the first Hellfire Gala was sure to be a rager. But what's this, Selene's casting an evil spell??? Why is the Quiet Council trying to kill everyone??? AND WHY IS SELENE'S ASS GROWING SO BIG AND GLOWING BLUE??? Help???

Our World

In this RP, we consider the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies up to and including the first Avengers film to be cannon. There are roleplays that have happened in this timeline as well, forming our own Roleplay Universe (please click here to see the full in depth lore guide for our multiverse). We primarily cross over with the RP hosted by @BlueSky44, X-Men: Darkness Rising and Agents of SHIELD, another RP I host... although you do not need to be a member of either to enjoy this RP!!! Think of it like watching Ant-Man. Sure, there are nods and small cameos from the other Marvel movies, but you can enjoy it perfectly fine as a standalone film. In our universe, we have known that we were not alone in the world since 2012, due to the Incident. Aliens are real, powered individuals are possible, and almost anything seems to be possible.

O.M.E.N. was disbanded in June of 2020 by Presidential Candidate and leader Alexander Jakobsen. The organization was intended to protect US citizens from supernatural threats, but ultimately imprisoned, tortured, and killed innocents - especially mutants above all else. Yet while the institution has been disbanded and its resources were given over to S.H.I.E.L.D., its agents still hold grudges against mutants - the stain on humankind. The Purifiers largely draw membership from those angry individuals and while they are regarded as a hate group, local police often either turns a blind eye to their actions or is simply ill equipped to handle them.

Now, onto what you're all waiting for....Powers!

Mutants, also called homo superior, are powered individuals who gain their abilities due to an X-gene. This gene is something that is simply part of their genetic makeup from birth. It can be activated when the individual is subjected to great stress, often during puberty or traumatic moments. It's important to understand that while a mutant's powers can be called a mutation, they were born mutants. They did not mutate throughout the course of their lifetime.

Mutates are those who, as the name implied, mutated to gain powers. This is often due to the presence of electromagnetic radiation outside of the visible spectrum. Encounters with radioactive waste would certainly qualify. It is possible for those with an X-gene to mutate when exposed to radiation or other materials, but it is uncommon and also effectively 'neutralizes' the X-gene.

Inhumans, also called inhomo supremis, are individuals who are descended by unfortunate souls who were experimented on and had their genetic code modified. This unorthodoxy in genetics can be activated through a process called terringenesis, in which the inhuman emerges from something akin to a cocoon with newfound abilities and powers.

Deviances, as they are now understood, refer to (often) extraordinary abilities that distinguish someone from the average human. However, these are not differences on a biological or genetic level. While these can be small things, such as a sixth sense when it comes to healing and knowing what is wrong with the patient, it can be as dramatic as pyrokinesis. Deviances are a result of the shattering of the Cursed Flask in 1719, the shards which were recovered in 2018 by MI13. The flask's contents were said to grant immeasurable power, and with the contents mixing into the air in trace amounts, individuals can sometimes acquire slight abilities from exposure. There is currently no method of explaining why some people gain a deviance and others do not, however. This area of research is still relatively new.

• World War II - the events of Captain America: the First Avenger transpire
• 2010 - the events of Iron Man transpire
• 2011 - the events of Iron Man II transpire

• 2012 - the events of the Avengers transpire
• June 20, 2016 - the Altsoba Massacre levels the small town of Altsoba Washington. It is believed to be the work of religious extremists and hallucinogenic drugs. O.M.E.N. is founded and covers up the incident, as the government begins to work on managing the supernatural.
• October 31, 2016 - the first leaders of O.M.E.N. are murdered by the demon Mephistopheles in a plan to raise the Norse goddess Hel, daughter of Loki.
• January, 2017 - O.M.E.N. agents, with the assistance of Thalia Maehers, kill Hel.
• January 8, 2019 - the X-Men and S.H.I.E.L.D. agents combat the Brotherhood of Mutants at the Hanson Power Plant in Washington D.C., only for the plant to explode and forcing thousands in the city to lose power. Magneto steals the Gifted Index from S.H.I.E.L.D. in the process and raids the Triskelion, S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters
• February 13, 2019 - the X-Men prevent the Brotherhood of Mutants from releasing a deadly virus in New York City that would kill the human population.
• June 6, 2020 - Xavier's Institute for the Gifted is destroyed by Sentinels sent by O.M.E.N. to subdue the team.
• June 6, 2020 - the X-Men destroy an O.M.E.N. facility illegally holding innocent mutants.
• June 2020 - O.M.E.N. is disbanded by Alexander Jakobsen.
• July 15, 2020 - a tragic accident destroys St. Cecila's Preparatory School as a young mutant's powers went haywire. There is renewed interest in the MRA and hate crimes rise. Purifier leadership pledges to eliminate the mutant threat that O.M.E.N. could not.
• September 9, 2020 - The second mutant massacre occurs in D.C.
• September 10, 2020 - Reverend William Stryker and his church, the Hope of Humanity, marched on Washington D.C. as an anti-mutant protest called Stryker's Crusade.
• September 10, 2020 - The Mutant Underground manages to destroy Sinister and Shaw's secret laboratory underneath Washington D.C.
• September 17, 2020 - The mutant Mesmero infiltrates X-Mansion, turning the team against one another and stealing the plans for Cerebro. The next day the X-Men, both old and new, track him down and destroy his base, taking him down in the process.
• December 10, 2020 - Wanda Maximoff (the Scarlet Witch) creates the House of M reality, where mutants are on top and humans are beneath them. Very few people remember this world if any.
• January 20, 2021 - President Alexander Jakobsen takes office.
• February 11, 2021 - M-Pox outbreak begins due to a terrigen bomb released into Earth's atmosphere.

• Applications:

• Post Content
  • No use of racial slurs in posts. Sure, you may be playing a racist white guy from the 1950s, so just use asterisks - you'll convey the same idea.
  • Nudity needs to be run by the GM before posting. In general, this is PG-13 when it comes to romance, sexual interactions, exposure, and so forth... Violence wise, anything goes. This can get gross.
  • Fade to black for things that verge into the area of smut/other taboo subjects. Seriously. Your post will be deleted otherwise.
  • The world and NPCs and events are controlled by the GM. If the GM says it's raining, then it's raining. Results will be randomized per dice mechanics.
• Posting & General Behavior
  • Follow all of the rules of the forum - they're the law of the land.
  • If you need an extension or you're struggling - or even if you just aren't certain what to do - please reach out to the GM! Communication is key.
  • All posts are backed up on the back up forum after they have been posted - the GM will provide the link for this forum. It only takes a few seconds and it ensures all your hard work is preserved!
  • You must post once every 7 days - once your last post on RPG reads as 8 days ago you will be removed from the RP.

History

How did you discover your powers: When Callie turned fifteen she was in high school when she was leaving for school for the day, there were a group of men who were Purifiers somehow found out that her mother was a mutant. She started to be pushed and shoved around by a few of them, when she was cornered in the alleyway Callie's power suddenly turned on. As electricity was released from her hands, sending two of the men several feet away. Killing one on accident, the group of men suddenly freaked out by her and they all fled the scene.

After that event Callie and her family then moved back to her hometown for awhile, she was still unable to control her powers, and eventually her mother Katalina knowing where she would be safe and going there from time to time to do a few speeches and occasionally teaching there. Callie was sent to Xavier's Institute where she got a better grasp on her powers.

General History: Callie was born and raised in Buffalo New York with her mother Katalina Johnson and her father, and twin brothers she is the oldest of them. Callie's mother worked as a teacher from time to time, while her father worked as a police officer of the city. Growing up Callie was always a bit of the wild child usually acting more like one of the boys more than anything. She grew up in a nearly all boy house after all. Callie however usually ended up getting into quiet a few fights as well, getting nearly expelled because of it.

Callie ended up getting home schooled for a year before going back to a public school, she however was still very close to her mother. Then when she turned fifteen the whole incident with the Purifiers happened Katalina and her father decided to move. And the safest place she thought would be was her hometown back in Red Lake Pennsylvania where she found out that her mother was actually a mutant after they had moved. She was fairly close to her cousin Olivia who happened to be in the same town as well, when she found out her cousin had died Callie did take it fairly hard as well.

Callie was still having a very hard time to control her powers, her mother decided that it was best to have her go to Xavier's Institute where she occasionally did teach from time to time. Once she was old enough Callie graduated, though she never did join the X-Men, she didn't like wearing the whole spandex thing either. She eventually got a job as a car mechanic from a family friend in New York City. Where Callie was eventually approached with a job opportunity with helping the Mutant Underground Cell out in Washington DC which she accepted.

History

How did you discover your powers: Leighton has yet to discover she is a mutant. Granted, there were probably times when it maybe shoudl have dawned on her, such as not being bothered by the cold as much as others, but she doesn't really pay attention to trivial stuff like that. She considers mutants freaks and weirdos and wants no part in that.

General History: Leighton, as the youngest child in the Brooks household, was spoiled rotten from the first moments she had breath. Anything the little girl wanted, she got. As such, she was provided with the best education money could buy. All throughout her life, Leighton had hopes placed on her to be the best. Not a step below.

So Leighton worked hard. She earned top marks in school. She excelled at certain sports. If she failed, she blamed the coach or the other girls and got mommy or daddy to disband the program or club she could not be a part of. This made her, more or less, public enemy number 1. Either people wanted to be her friend to avoid her wrath, or they gave her a wide berth.

She didn't let that dissuade her though. She made people's lives a living hell. With her poison tongue, she lashed out to anyone or anything that had ears. Be it teachers, schoolmates, friends, or family. Even mutants, freaks with weird powers who should just crawl into a hole and be done with it, as far as she was concerned.

So Leighton, still in the high school elite, cheer captain, head of the debate club and the mock trial, who secrelty doesn't know what she wants out of life. Having been the best (or destroyed the rest) had left her in a grey area. Who was she? What could she be? She would never let it show, but she questioned these things almost daily. Because a part of her did care and did want to do something and for that thing to have meaning. Maybe all it would take is for something drastic to happen.

History

How did you discover your powers: Demetria was 14 years old at the time, just starting out in high school, when she first discovered what she could do. It had been an accident, and there were instances of things happening every so often. She'd feel really cold after getting a small cut and the injury disappeared, but it was nothing compared to what happened. Her family didn't live too far away from where she went to school, so she was walking home after staying a little while longer, before she ended up with someone grabbing onto her wrist, and the guy was not someone she knew, and the guy was trying to rob her. She wasn't very strong, but she still tried to break free of his grip, but it was useless, and that was when her powers kicked in. The air grew cold suddenly, and the next thing she knew, the guy had turned into a frozen statue, and a second later, his body fell over and shattered the instant it hit the ground.

General History:

Demetria Clarke was born the only child of Christian and Margaret Clarke in Honolulu. Being the only child, her family tended to give her a lot of things, however they also knew to teach her to work for what she had, so she grew up to not be a spoiled rotten person, and she did appreciate what it was that she had. Her father was an Anti-Mutant protester, and her mother was too. They weren't as bad as the Purifiers, but Demetria never was able to understand why they were against mutants in general.

Then came the incident when she was 14, and she didn't even realize as she raced home that her hair had gone white, or her eyes had changed to blue. When she entered the house, the air around her had gone completely cold, the door handle froze the instant she touched it, but she ignored it. When her father saw her, that was the end of it. He tried to turn her over to the Purifiers, locking her up in her room so she couldn't escape, but she did. Demetria smashed the window, managed to create an ice slide of sorts to get out of her second-story window, and ran for it.

She was alone, scared, and she knew that she couldn't stay in Honolulu anymore, she just had to find her way off the island. After a few days, she had found a ship that was heading for the Continental US, and stowed-away on board. It didn't take her long to get caught, but the captain of the ship was sympathetic towards her, and he let her stay as long as she helped out around the boat. Even once they reached their destination, she asked if she could stay on, not even caring if she got paid or anything, and he let her, and he was glad that he did. When she was 16, the boat got caught in a nasty storm, the waves crashing into it, and it caused the ship to crash into something, creating a large hole in the side. At this point, she'd been learning to use her powers on her own, and now they were needed more than ever. She plugged the hole in the hull up, using her powers over ice to freeze it over so the ship didn't sink, at least until they reached the nearest port. The crew dubbed her a hero to them all, and she liked the idea of helping others.

She stayed on with the crew for a few more years until she was 20, when she ended up catching the eye of Serval Industries who were putting together a corporate superhero team, and they asked her to join it. A little hesitant at first, she eventually decided to join the team known as X-Factor. This gave her the opportunity to help out those who really needed it, not just the crew on a ship, and with the help of Serval Industries, she was able to go to college, getting a degree in medicine. She enjoyed her time with X-Factor, making a few friends along the way on the team, but after 4 years of working with them, she realized that she needed to help others like her, having heard of the Mutant Underground, and she eventually found her way there, joining up with them.

She had been on a mission for the Underground when she was caught by OMEN, and her worst fears were realized. Demetria hadn't been that scared since she discovered her powers. Though things were a little bit better once she made friends with one of the agents, Frederick Flynn, or as she liked to call him, Freddie. Eventually she was with those who were rescued from OMEN, and even though she had asked if he wanted to come with her, she parted ways with Flynn who went to go work for SHIELD.

After that, she began to trust even less people, never telling anyone where she really came from, and she didn't really care to answer anyone if they used her actual name. She didn't want to get caught and turned into a lab rat ever again.

Max, for the most part, is a kind hearted soul. He tends to keep to himself, focusing greatly on his studies and his advancement to bettering himself. If ever there is someone being bullied around him, Max will tend to stop what he is doing and attempt to help the one in need, not necessarily flaunting his skill but rather quickly disposing of the issue so that he can go back to his studies. He tended to be a very plain,studious, child until more recently when his life had changed.

After the exposure to his powers, he lost his parents and has been more or less on the road. Becoming more adept at small time thievery, such as stealing food from shops, shifting his mentality of life quite a bit. He no longer views the world with rose tinted glasses. Seeing how many turned on him when he attained his powers showed him the reality of life. He is quick to help any mutants or enhanced humans who are in the same place as he is; and will help humans to show that mutants are not all bad.

History

How did you discover your powers: We've all heard the stories of mutants, or other beings, attaining their power from a stressful encounter. Bullies, explosions, parental abuse, you name it and it's probably happened. Maximillian was different however. His powers didnt emerge from a place of stress, fear, or abusive force thrust upon him; his powers emerge from a place of tranquility. Often times when searching for an answer to one of life's many curveballs, Max turned to meditation as the answer. He claimed he could 'search the cosmos and they would gift upon him clarity'. Ofcourse this wasnt literal...until it was.

After practice one day, Max decided to hit the books, reading old books that were written in Latin. Hed taken this dead language at school and knew the only way not to lose it was to keep in practice with it, like translating old tomes. His adrenaline was still pumping and it made it rather difficult to concentrate on his translations so he took to meditation. He mentally spoke out to the cosmos and for once, they answered back. Some unknown force spoke to him, showing him what appeared to be words in his mind. Max immediately stopped and ran to scribble down the phrase written. Unable to translate it he threw the paper in frustration towards his full length mirror. The page now read "Magi fistula." Max spoke the words aloud and nothing happened, until he tried them in reverse "Alutsif Igam" energy began to form and distort in the area of his right hand, elongating and finally taking shape of a fighting cane. He had successfully conjured a weapon.

General History:

Max grew up an only child. He was raised by his mother and father who did nothing but want to support their child, if not in their own way. Having always been a very studios kid, he was labeled a "Nerd" or "Geek" and thus began to be bullied at Middle School. He hid the bruises and shot ego for a while from his parents, until one day his mother caught a glimpse from under his sleeve. They brought it up to the principal and nothing came of it. That summer his dad was intent on helping Max by enrolling him in the Institute for Martial Arts. Hoping his new found skills would help Max fend against school Bullies.

That summer Max trained his mind and body, quickly picking up some moves to help against bigger opponents. His father may have intended this as a way to help himself, but Max viewed it as a means to help others at the school. Upon returning from summer break the bullies were at it again, this time they didnt win. Max used his knowledge of Martial Arts to subdue the menace and to proclaim that if anyone was to attempt this around him again that he would personally see it stopped. From there life began to look up, he didnt pay much mind to the mutant struggles as they were hardly discussed at home.

Going into High School the politics around mutants became more and more prevalent. His parents always spoke the word with such venom, that max dared not speak against it. He didnt quite understand the hostility towards them, how was it any different from say...a homosexual? That is to say, himself. His views were best kept secret as well as his sexuality, that was one thing his parents didnt have to control. He pressed forward, learning Latin and continuing his Martial Arts; began taking photography classes and was later gifted a camera. Now 17, Max has awoken to his new power and attempted to contact the cosmos everyday. Sometimes it was silence, other times guidance, and only on three occasions were words of power given.

When practicing his conjugation of fire, his mother walked in and proceeded to scream and cause a ruckus. His father came rushing in and saw that his son, no, this vile creature, was using powers within his household. Max quickly found out his parents were Purifier sympathizers and they immediately called the local gang to attempt to take their sun away. Max barely escaped his house, grabbing his bag that contained a few items, and then roughing it out in the world. He started hiding and sleeping amongst the homeless, as his friends turned him away. He stole food from stores that weren't heavily guarded, and attempted to make a life for not only himself, but any mutants that he came across.

Anything Else: Tome cannot create or conjure at will as it currently stands. Through meditation and practice, he is gifted "words of power" that must first be inscribed onto a paper, book, etc. The words must then be spoken backwards (as they are presented) in order to be able to later conjure the item/spell. The Cosmos arent always keen to give out their secrets and thus Max must get stronger before he can continue to unlock more of the worlds mysteries.

@Morose. May I join as well?. I am currently making a King Shark/Beast-based mutant. Although he is usually very gentle, he will bite if he has to, or his friends are threatened. He is quite a bit larger than King Shark since he is basically a wereshark that can't change back.

• Birth place needs to be filled in
• Birth year is incorrect - if he's 18, he would have been born in 2001
• He's an interesting character overall :) I quite like him. All of the events are starting in the Washington D.C. area, so given his backstory, he would start in the Millennium Plaza Strip Mall area, where we have two characters already. Both of those are mutants who'll end up running from Purifiers/Police/No Spoilers soon

Got a concept, just making sure it is okay!

She'll be considered a telekinetic, primary talent is to "charge" her art, creating creatures who defend her. They won't be overpowered, she can only hold one of them out at a time, and will have a short shelf life.

She'll also be restricted to her sketchbook, if she doesn't have it, she can't summon.
