Everyone's talking about new releases.

Me I'm just playing decade old Visual novels and hoping "Granblue Fantasy: Versus" or "God Eater 3" go on a steam sale at some point.

Also Haven was released a few days ago.

EDIT: Oh yea, the Momodora series is pretty charming.

EDIT2: Wait the haven news was a new release, I feel relevant and validated now.

To people that are planning on still playing Cyberpunk 2077, be aware that there are reports that animations and flashing lights in the game can cause seizures. And I think it didn't originally come with an epilepsy warning that you'd usually see in some games.

gameinformer.com/review/cyberpunk-207…

Pretty decent review from that same site. Sounds like it needs, and likely will get, a sizable Day One Patch though.

I like the darkness of the setting. A little, or a lot, of dystopia mixed with the neon and sick ass cars. The sleek and clean high end stuff doesn't shine quite as brightly without something to contrast against. Plus obviously it has an emotional effect.

Just finished Metro 2033 Redux. It's been so long since I've played Metro 2033 that I could not tell you what the differences between vanilla and Redux are, but I will say I enjoyed the hell out of it. Absolutely nails the atmosphere and the tone of the setting, but I thought combat was a bit janky and some of the stealth sections were obtuse.

Overall though, had fun!

You ever try that new Metro? I've never played a Metro game but I loved the Fallout games.

I really enjoyed Metro Exodus myself, though it did take getting used to.

I tried S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and sucked ass at it and for whatever reason I assumed Metro was quite similar to STALKER so I never really tried it. It's right up my alley.

I haven't played either Last Light or Exodus, but I did pick up both in the latest Steam Sale so it's only a matter of time.

I thought it was a bit stupid that adding the three games separately to my cart instead of going straight for the bundle was cheaper by about five dollars. Makes me wonder how many people got burned paying more. I get that it may only be five dollars to some, but a fiver here and there adds up.

STALKER and Metro are similar in how they influenced different degrees of sandboxy FPS's, I guess. STALKER is more in Far Cry's corner than Metro's in terms of what it does, though yes it can be quite frustrating. Metro is also pretty rough but Exodus is pretty accessible if that's your concern.

I think it's more that I basically always had a Fallout game to play. I played the hell out of 3 and New Vegas. 4 was kind ass but it was fun for one playthrough.

The Metro games (as far as I know, I haven't played Exodus) are linear, story-driven shooters with a healthy heaping of survival horror elements. They don't play like Fallout at all.

Ooooh, nice. Thanks for that Hank. I might actually try them now. I think part of why I haven't tried it time allocation. I just don't have the time to sit around and play a game for hours anymore and I find that playing open world RPG type games like Fallout makes me bad at stopping when I need to stop.

Exodus is semi-linear in that each "zone/level" is a micro-sandbox. You have plenty to explore but its not all one big map.

That sounds pretty dope. I might have to give that a spin sometime.

But for now, Cyberpunk awaits...

I gotta wait ten days before I can cash in on Cyberpunk, so you'll have a headstart on me. Don't get too far ahead.

Bruh. I have the DW 11 super duper primo edition for Switch but have never opened it. I got purely for the character designs and because it looks like something fun to play when I'm out camping.

Tell me it's amazing.

The videocards, you mean?

I'm just gonna try playing it on my 1660 Super and hoping for the best. The Witcher 3 runs like a dream on that card so I'm hoping that if CDPR's optimization game is on point again, I can get CB77 to play smoothly on Medium or something.

Either way, I'll let you know what I think!
