Greetings. I have come to essentially beta-test several stories and settings I wish to work on. However, I am not yet familiar with this site, and while I have faith I'll adapt with enough experimentation, having someone advice me would certainly expedite things. While I'm here, however, I figure I may as well enjoy other people's settings. If anyone has any forums they need more people for, please let me know.

Welcome to the site, Dr. Lovecraft,

This site is rather easy to navigate. Did you see the welcome package in your inbox yet? That will have a lot of good information, including the New User's Guide. You can take a look at the Articles and Guides Index for more "roleplaying-how-to" as well.

The best advice that I can give to you as an experienced roleplayer is to have fun! I hope you enjoy your time on the site. :)

First off, I would like to say that I would be more than happy to help you however I can. I'm usually around to answer questions and you might also find some help from the folks on the Official RoleplayerGuild Discord (accessed through the top bar of the website) too. You might also find some use in our Articles & Guide section or by perusing through the Suggestions/Problems forms.

Is there any specific questions that I can answer for you in the meantime?

anyway, as far as advice from me? The best i can give you is to have fun, do not stress yourself out, especially if it is unnecessary, and find/do whatever makes you comfortable. No one can make you do anything you are not comfortable with.

Wow, thanks for all the replies. I was expecting maybe three by the end of the night? I guess this sites more active than I thought.

You might also consider joining the Discord. It's got a section for advertising new RPs and another for talking about ones you want to start, IIRC.

In general it will likely be easier for you to start out by joining someone else's RP than by starting a new one, so I'd suggest looking into Free or looking into Casual/Advanced Interest Checks to find something you want to participate in.

Chuuya is running a Christmas themed RP called Winter Tales that is just getting started.

@Dr Lovecraft I'm unsure what you mean -- the process is the same as it was for starting this thread. Simply enter the section you want to use (free, casual, advanced) and hit 'start thread' top right. If you want to post it more in the veins of 'this is my idea, is anyone interested' you could also use the interest check section, which is used as a sort of springboard towards roleplaying, making sure people are interested before making a thread for it in the actual roleplaying section.

Woah, thanks! I'll definitely have to drop by the winter one. And while I've watched precious little King of the Hill, I have spent the majority of my life near Arlington, so I think I might be able to bring a level of authenticity to it. Or not.

Okay, that makes sense. I guess I just get a little overwhelmed with new stuff sometimes.

Also, just to clarify, it's more the site I'm new to. My dad made his own TTRPG when he was a kid, so I've been RPing in some form or another since I can remember.
