Klein

HP 1000/1000 SP 300/300 MP 0/0Shield 0

With the team able to make it out in one piece, Klein decided to find an even rock to give himself some rest. With one out of four cave cross out, there is a 33 percent chance in finding Lewd in next cave. Or, maybe in Lewd is already dead and the team is just wasting time farming.

"I vote for the largest cave. Figured it would be a better chance to find him there." Klein said, before letting out a fit of laughter from Amulak suggestions. "Is Brazzers still good? Last time I heard it was getting freaky..."

If not for the ability to check the clock through menu screen, it would have been impossible to figure out just how much time elapsed as the party laid against the cool, damp walls of the tunnel, allowing the small stream that trickled down into the hot depths to whisk away the last remnants of the heat. That sense of physical fatigue disappeared soon enough, but no matter how long they waited, a desire for a good, cold drink remained. It was never bad enough that it felt like they were going to die from thirst, but the sandiness of their mouths caused sticky saliva to build up, and even simply speaking aloud became an unpleasant task.

Before their bodies could be chilled too much by the cool drafts and the trickling stream, the party got up and were on the move again, settling into the same marching order as before. Through a combination of ambivalence and a hatred for water levels, they’ve decided to head into a different sort of depths compared to the hellishly hot one they had previously spelunked into. Beneath the Ancient Blackened Tree was their goal, and with trepidation in their hearts, they all advanced into the unknown.

For these pilgrims though, the Blasphemed Tunnels welcomed them with open arms.

What ghosts and ghouls they encountered skittered away, dark shadows flickering at the very edge of their vision. What monstrosities lurked within caverns paid them no head, some impossible instinct reading the intents of the motley crew of Immortals. Only the basest of creatures attacked, but those were dispatched easily, too weak to be of note. And with Amulak’s instructions, they travelled further and further into the spiralling tunnels, into the dark dreams of a sleeping god, until light seemed like a myth, until the cardinal directions seemed like hoaxes.

And once the path finally became flat, Ames could feel it.

A nerve-rending sensation. As if his flesh was being pulled off his bones, wishing to get as far away as possible from what they were approaching. It was a profanity that disgusted him to a biological level, one that he was mentally incapable of understanding. No one else seemed to be affected by this; Amulak even seemed at home here. But the sensation remained, spreading like a poison through virtual veins. His body was still his own. He could still move it as he wished. By his will, Ames could enter the cavern. He certainly could.

Thankfully, the party did not charge in yet. Hiding behind an outcropping of rocks, they did what they could do observe instead. None of the bioluminescent moss that had lit the way before was here now, but even without light, they could see the roots of the profane tree spreading out from above, a mass of dark purples crawling down from the pitch-black ceiling. The cavern itself must have been enormous, empty, curved walls echoing the drip-drop of something falling into the pools that Amulak had spoke of, but that no one could see. All the cold from the tunnels seemed to be converging here, the small breeze at the back of the party urging them forward, inwards. A light hissing sound could be heard as well. The breathing of a great being? Something dragging itself against the ground? The whispers of snakes? The longer the party waited, the more their hearing sharpened, and the more sounds they could pick up. Vestiges of laughter, instances of whimpers. Rasping nails against stone, heartbeats pressed against bone.

Only if they advanced, would they give a sense of reality to what their imaginations painted for them.

But in such darkness, the terrain would be undoubtedly dangerous. Those pools of tar, of dark energies, of the sap of a profane tree, could still not be seen, after all.

“Oh, huh,” Bortz said, surprised in a manner that sounded almost disappointed, “that sounds sorta…”

“Like the most balanced shit I’ve heard so far,”
Droko finished, patting Ari on the back. “No worries though, I’m sure it’ll get better in future stages.”

“Yeah,”
the steelbound warrior nodded. “You’ll probably get some Cyclops eye beams next. No idea how the cows came at us though. Maybe it’s just what they do? With their whole invisibility and breath attack gimmick.”

It made sense in a way. The gyuki, with their ability to remain invisible even during their first attack, could probably have devastated unprepared caravans with blasts of ice and poison, scattering and blinding whatever escorts were around, before closing in with their physical might to crush what opposition remained. The path itself, despite being less travelled, still bordered the Thunderstruck Grove though. Perhaps that was why it was less travelled?

But in that case, why would a path populated with such creatures be preferrable to busier paths that bandits may plot their ambushes around?

“Nah,” Droko scoffed. “I know exactly what attracted them here. Fucking Vator. Dude’s got the most bullshit out of all of us here, and he still insists on bringing them to us.” She massaged the side of her neck with a meaty hand. “Roadside encounters aren’t all that uncommon in general. It’s still a game, after all. If you don’t get attacked while travelling from one city to another, how are you even supposed to level grind?” It was a rhetorical question, and the shaman got closer to Ari, her eyes following the parabolic arcs of the knives that she juggled.

“Real talk though, why do you keep doing that? Some sorta class requirement?”

"Ahaha~ nothing of the sort." Instead of answering the question she posed another one instead. "You know of the Flamebringer Princess? I saw her poster the first time I entered the game. She looked so cool on it, and that got me thinking that I could one day be as strong as her. And that.."
She caught all three in one finger. "..Is why I practice my own hand eye coordination. Stats and all are all good, but I should probably get rid of my own bad reflexes too." Ari's grin suddenly grew wider. "...or I'm just pulling on your legs and its because I'm bored and need my hands occupied."

It wasn't much of a lie however. She did need a bit more of the old muscle memory. There were martial artists whose muscle memories were so ingrained they can deflect and counterattack before they even realize they're under attack, or so she was told. And that recent fight taught her a bit more about what she should do. Rely more on her speed, and not her strength.

But going back to the subject of the wagon's content, none of the people around her seemed disturbed or so much as gave a twitch of the eye when she mentioned the cargo. To them, this must be a routine job. Thus, they could either have no knowledge of what was inside the wagon, or did not care. Even so, she'd need actual evidence that it was something bad before shoving her head in there. It could just be a nice pile of frames infused with calming essence that showed up as NPCs in her view after all.

This place was spooky as hell.

While they dispatched the less intelligent nightmare creatures that tried to attack them directly, the looming threat of the things hiding in the dark was still oh so present. The glowing moss helped, but not much. The dark itself was a hindrance to the scout's vision and kept him on edge, made worse by a shadow that seemed to move just out of Raime's peripheral vision. "Place is darker than damned pitch. Hope someone can produce a light source or we'll be fighting blind soon." His knuckles whitened as he gripped the sword tightly. Expecting an ambush at a moment's notice as he had a hunch that these cave monsters had a form of sensing things in the dark as most real life creatures do that dwell in near perpetual darkness. If they were to move any further from this spot they would likely risk facing the environmental hazards of the cavern blind. "Alternatively, I could use my nuclei at full power and just nuke this place to kingdom come. Glass everything in a 5 kilometer line." Raime shrugs. "But where's the fun in that?"

While the party regrouped and took some time to assemble themselves, Ames spent the time trying to forget the fact that Amulak just mentioned "spiders." Her face had paled insanely fast when she'd heard the word. So they had been in a spider... nest. With spider eggs. and she'd touched one. She was so happy that they didn't end up breaking them open, seeing dozens (or even just one) of little skittering spider monsters would have been horrible.

Once they picked up again Ames was glad to put more distance between them and the spider hole. She walked toward the front of the group, not wanting to be ambushed from behind by any brave arachnids. Everything they encountered as they made their way to the next chamber was the usual riffraff one might expect in a haunted cave area, thankfully nothing eight legged. Also nothing snake-like, so she wasn't sure if they were heading the right way this time either. They'd never know unless they tried, though.

However, as they pressed on Ames slowed until she was trailing behind the others. At first she didn't realize it, but she was growing hesitant to move forward. She felt something chilling, in a much different way than when they'd first stepped into the cave complex. Honestly she thought she might puke. She broke into a cold sweat. Everyone else seemed fine, so this was... some kind of supernatural sense?

"Um, I think this area is really... really dangerous, like more than the other ways," she whispered, not knowing if the rest of them could even hear her. As they huddled together at the cavern's opening, Ames squished herself close to Klein and Magpie, clearly uncomfortable with the area. She stared into the dark until Raime spoke.

"You might hit the kids too, if they're here," she added, "Otherwise I would vote for that... I guess we should have bought some torches too."

She shifted, her bracelets clinking together, and like a bell the animist realized that they did have a light source.

"Hold on, I can light something up." Maybe if she could see what was in the cavern, even a little bit, her unease would die down. She shuffled quietly until she was leaning a little out of cover, concentrating on the shield she had equipped. First she had to use the [Art of the Split Soul] so it could travel without being attached to her. Then set it alight with the magical fire from her bangles while it was still equipped, and finally let it go ahead and hopefully shed some light on whatever was inside. With a tap of the arm equipment the shield burst into colorful flame, and she tossed it away from her into the cavern. The shield caught itself in midair and floated there, slowly moving to it's maximum distance away.

With Mags' brain turned to autopilot from the heat melting what little grey matter she had, she easily followed the pack. As in, she didn't rouse any sort of trouble for a brief period. She was too busy feeling icky because of the sweat that clung to her snakeskin robes. The occasional trash mob gave her little reason to think. Her man hands would crush the skull of any ghoul in a trivial manner. The ghosts? Eh, that wasn't her job.

Though, as direction faded to aimless movement, something horrible happened to the group.

Mags began to think again.

Her pack mentality was gone now. The cool air that wicked away the remnants of sweat refreshed her dumb way of thinking.

Without so much of an ounce of hesitation, she began to rebel against the horrifying atmosphere. Rather than cautiously approach and light up the way like Ames, Mags just decided to no balls the scenario. She stepped away from Ames, the red-haired warrior no longer feeling the safety in numbers that was so emboldened by a literal ape.

With brutal claps that gave into thundering echoes in the caverns, Mags chanted a bizarre hymn against the cruel spirits that inhabited the cave.

"If I ain't rest 'cause of y'all," her voice boomed as she walked further and further into the darkness, "y'all ain't rest 'cause of me!"

If nothing else, the environment was even somewhat comfortable. He didn't know why, the place seemed like it was straight out of a horror flick. Maybe it was just a side effect of his new class. Or maybe Amulak was just a little loopy in the head. Who knew? It wasn't like being a pro gamer for years on end was exactly good for his mental health. Oh, well, who gave a shit? He had online games to play and dumbasses to find.

"Nuke option sound good, but only if we find trouble first. Could be jack shit in radius and you blow load for nothing. Would be real shame-" Amulak's response to Raime was cut off by Mags just deciding to reveal their location to absolutely fucking everything around them. Holy shit.

"Mags, what the fuck wrong with you?" He hissed, one hand gripping his staff tightly. "You are screaming 'Here we are, please fuck us in ass!', yes? Very helpful."

With the wind howl next to his ears and the slithering whisper that seems to just out of reach, a sense of unease begin to bloom in his mind. And Klein hated it so much. He hated dealing with incomplete information, with no knowledge of what he would expect at the next corner. So he laid his eyes upon the outline of the largest thing in this room, the gargantuan tree trunk in the cave. It's root is purple. Purple . It reminded him of one of the largest milk cow franchise antagonist of the last decade, Thanos. He is also purple. So it must be some kind of a hint.

"If you have to burn anything." Klein said, pointing to the tree roots. "You can burn this."

There was a strange sense of ‘belonging’ that Ames felt as he performed his soul-effacing art. For a brief moment, the warrior-animist could see his aura seep into his shield, the object filling with that same spiritual light while his own dimmed slightly. At the end of it, the shield moved, not like an object that he manipulated with his mind, but rather as a part of his own body. Phantasmal flames surged over it afterwards, casting a ghostly light to their surroundings, and with a flick of his mind, the shield went out into the dark.

Magpie, in a 500,000 IQ play, followed immediately afterwards. Certainly, a flaming shield was already going to destroy any attempts at the party stealthing, but the brawler had opted to go to the extreme opposite of ‘stealthing’ and began actively aggroing. Her claps echoed brightly through the massive cavern, and no matter how pissed Amulak was, it didn’t matter. The skittering, the slithering, the somethings within the space between the Ancient Blackened Tree took note, and as the shield hovered near Magpie, offering her a view of the hard stone around her, of the pools of tar and cursed energy that exuded with fumes noxious and intoxicating, the darkness that stretched around her became more pronounced as well. The whites of eyes glinted within firelight, black tendrils pushing against the light only to retract afterwards. It was becoming corporeal, what surrounded Magpie, and yet, nothing advanced.

There was no need to.

From the tar pool a mere ten meters away from the brawler stepped out a humanoid figure, their entire body covered in black mud. Dark red wisps rose from their form, and in their right hand was an axe, chipped and rusted with overuse.

Overhead, the roots groaned and creaked.

“Oh.” Bortz said.

“Oho.” Droko grinned.

The two of them shared a look, one smug and one knowing, before Bortz slapped Ari on the back with force that definitely would have killed her if not for the friendly fire mechanics in the party system. “I see, I see,” he laughed. “Love at first sight, eh? If she’s caught your eyes through promo pics alone, I bet you’ll literally propose to her once you see one of her arena fights!”

Droko pulled him away by his collar, the muscled shaman rolling her eyes in a good-natured way. “Thought you were more of the investigative news reporter type, but mm, you planning on doing some actual PVP too then, Ari? Wouldn’t say that Hanabi’s like, the best role model for you, considering how many extra limbs she’s got going for her, but that’s admirable.”

“Yeah, San-Li’s The Art’s more of that pure skill no gimmick deal, least from what I’ve seen,”
Bortz chimed in. “But also, there’s been people saying that he plays in aut-”

“He does not play on auto mode,”
Droko hissed, kicking him in the knee. “He practices in auto mode, and then copies those movements in manual as a way of sharpening his movements. Big difference.”

“See that? Best to keep your eyes set on little miss Flamebringer; least with her fanbase, you’re not liable to get bullied for cordially discussing rumors.”

“Please. That’s still better than what you get into with those Hololivers,”
Droko huffed, before turning her attention back on the catgirl. “Guessing those moves you pulled off in that fight was manual too, Ari?”

Raime nods in agreement at Amulak's and Ames' notions in using the nuclei. "Thought as much. Will keep the nuclear option as a last resort and we're sure the kids ain't in the blast radius." Which was going to be quite difficult considering a lot of things can be in 5 kilometers. He then spots Ames making a makeshift light source with his shield. Giving her an appreciative nod as he began to believe that this situation wasn't as shitty as he thought.

Then Mags proved that it can be made exponentially worse.

Like the wild coked up baboon of a person that she is, the group's brawler threw all senses of self preservation out the window and began her bizarre rite of aggravating any and everything that dwelled in the inky blackness of the cavern with thunderous gusto. Amulak's cries were in vain as a humanoid figure had already appeared before the brawler. A body completely obscured with the black mud from the tar pit it stepped out of. Wisps of malevolence basically emanating from its form. And an axe that told tales of its extensive history as a tool of death. The thing basically screamed 'area boss' and they had the displeasure of encountering it. If the scout still had his other arm, he'd be burying his face in his free hand right now as he could feel a massive headache coming along.

"If I ain't rest 'cause of y'all, y'all ain't rest 'cause of me!"
Oh, look. There it is.

"Mags, you fucking suicidal idiot..." Raime muttered as he activated [Detect] to see how fucked they were in this situation and see what else they had to deal with now that stealth was no longer an option.

"Ah, pvp? Investigative?" Ari looked puzzled at that for a moment. "I like adventures more I think. You know, the kinda feeling you get when you find a tomb, and no one might have stepped in there for a millenia. The sense of danger from the unknown even as you push forwards because you gotta find out what's at the end. Like that old movie series Indianna Jones. The old ones, not the new one that tries too hard to make the guy cool with all the guns."

"I guess that means I should try out the tournaments too once I'm a bit stronger. Ah right, I do use manual? I think? I didn't really check the settings out that long."

Oof. Big guy, huh? Amulak eyed the axe the shadowy fighter was holding before brandishing his staff in response, making sure the meat shields of the group were in front of him.

"This is probably either mini-boss or elite mob. Other mobs in Thundering Caves so far not huge pain in asshole for our level. Basically, don't be idiot." He murmured aside to the others, taking a moment to determine his game plan.

Well, if the others weren't going, someone would have to make a move. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. And hell, if this guy was just going to give him a free shot, he might as well take it. A shame there weren't any fresh corpses around for him to use, but, well, that's what this one was for in a bit. Hopefully, at least.

Amulak started chanting, queuing up a spell. Using Parallel Incantation, he conjured up two Mana Boosted Spell Spears at once and sent them both crashing down onto the axeman. God, did he love having a double cast. Once he got some corpses, this mechanic held some promise.

Mags summoned something alright. A mud man with an axe. Well, at least it was corporeal this time around. Though, having some kind of liquid goo man reconstruct after every blow would be annoying. Maybe there would some actual core beneath the mud.

Mags couldn't hear Klein or Amulak mumbled. After all, if they wanted to tell her anything, they had to speak up. Though, in her mind, she understood exactly what was saying.

Be idiot.

After Amulak's twin spears flew past her, she joined in on the assault. With a flying body slam, she leapt at the muddy axeman. However, this assault was different. She had activated the Bulldozer as soon as her feet left the ground. Her body entered the counter stance, more closely resembling a broken animation flying through the air. Would it even work? It was hard to tell what was actually the game and what was Mags being a certified doofus. For all she knew, she could have just been flying at the man while holding a dumb position.

Although it wouldn't matter at that point, Ames still instinctively clamped her teeth together to drown the dumbfounded screech that she produced when Mags just barreled ahead. The noise made it out as an even, high-pitched whine. Ames stayed rooted to her spot, any good feeling she might have had after splitting her soul and successfully lighting a small portion of the area instantly dashed and consumed by the constant "wrongness" she still felt from the area at large. She did not want to enter the cavern proper. So, she stayed put right where she was beside their ranged party members, even though she was currently a melee fighter.

Her hypocrisy didn't stop her from reaching out and slapping Klein a few times, aiming for his back but with the size difference getting his behind more often than not. "Go, go, go help her!" Ames hissed at him, keeping her eyes peeled and looking into the darkness.

She really didn't know why she was still being quiet when their position was given away, if not when Magpie and her own shield rushed out then definitely when Amulak shot his spell out. Primal fear, maybe? She swallowed thickly and pushed at whatever mental block was in her brain at the moment, and then she shouted out at Mags.

"Don't go any deeper in!" Ames warned. If she did go further, then she'd be outside the light and probably get killed - or it would make Ames have to go in herself and she was putting that off as long as possible. The flaming shield that acted as an extension of the red head herself danced around Magpie's vision as a physical reminder not to go outside of her range. It spun in place with the anxious energy of Ames and prepared to defend the headstrong brawler from anything that might leap from the darkness.

It was like a police siren went off in his skull. The moment [Detect] was invoked, warning signs surged into Raime’s mind, alerting the scout not only to the countless ghosts surging within the darkness beyond Ames’s firelight, but also to the general areas where pools of tar, fathomless in depth, must be present. In the farthest edges of his Detect’s range as well, he could sense greater evils, monstrosities that would certainly present a greater challenge to the party than whatever they’ve faced before. But there was no sign of those spiritual atrocities moving; Amulak was the one that shot first.

Words of power so profane that it could only be alluded to indirectly seeped through the lips of the necromancer, his arcane veins surging with more power than he had ever unleashed before. Magic coalesced unseen within the cavern, dripping downwards like stalactites until, with the ringing screech of a blade drawn from a scabbard, they shot for their target.

But the mud-drenched warrior was fast as well. Letting out a deep breath, it somersaulted backwards, the arcane constructs sinking silently into the tar while the warrior landed into a crouch instead, their brutish chopper resting on their shoulder. Whatever response they had for Amulak’s attack was paused by Magpie’s flying bodyslam though. With the mid-air activation of [The Bulldozer], the brawler’s joints and limbs locked in midair, her defenses surging rapidly as momentum carried her towards her target. It hissed in another breath and rolled out the way, allowing the surprisingly fast, disgustingly strong, yet basically paralyzed brawler to fly out of Ames’s range and into the ghost-infested darkness.

The animist’s soul-split shield could only fly twenty meters away from him, after all, and the light cast by the phantasmal flame reached that same amount. It was a good trick for exploration, but for superhuman combat? For the rest of the party, including the hesitant Klein, it was as if Magpie was sucked into the darkness.

And as for the mud-covered warrior?

Rising up from their dodge roll, it raised its left hand up and wiped the cursed tar from its eyes, revealing a set of sanguine irises, redder than even Ames’s flames. “Ok, alright,” it spoke, tone light and conversational. “So we fightin’ fighting, hanh? Bring it on then, ya fuckers!”

Without a pause, the warrior swung its chopper into its own arm, cutting into the bone and drawing out blood that ignited instantly into a purple blaze.

“Let’s fucking GOOOOO!”

And with an earth-cracking kick, it leapt for Amulak, the infernal axe swinging for the hooded mage’s legs.
@Shovel@Searat@Psyker Landshark@OwO@Yankee

“Indianna Jones?” Bortz furrowed his brows. “What?”

Droko shared the same look of confusion, but didn’t decide to marginalize Ari’s hobbies and changed the subject instead. “Tournament brackets are usually divided by level, actually. I mean, Horogi’s a bit of a special case because they have individual arenas for each major clan except for the Gakui-Re, but you could always dip your feet into it by checking out the one at Nyu-Taro.”

“Oh yeah,” the hammer man butted in, glad to be in the loop again. “Go there all the time. Making a name for myself in the Silver Sub-100 tier, even! Great for working out the kinks of your build; after all, it’s only in an itemless 1v1 where your skills really shine!”

“Fucking Smash goon,” Droko muttered under her breath.

Bortz continued unabated. “Could give you a tour of Nyu-Taro’s arena after this, Ari. Hook you up with some of my seniors. They'll teach ya the ropes pretty quick, 'specially if you're already a manual gamer."

What the hell? He spoke? And like a hypebeast, too. Jeez. Those were still around? Alright, sure. He could roll with this. What sucked, though, was how the fighter just dodged and rendered the mana he'd expended completely worthless. Great. What sucked more was how he was about to get his legs chopped. Crap.

At the speed the fucker was going, there was no time to get a six-word incantation out to bind him with Seeker Chains. Only one recourse left, and it was the one he didn't like.

"Shit!" Amulak cursed, conveniently providing the one-word incantation necessary to cast a Mana Shield. Buffed with Mana Control and doublecasted with Parallel Incantation, two slightly pumped-up Mana Shields materialized around Amulak's form just before the shadowy fighter's axe made contact, hopefully providing enough of a buffer to not get his legs hacked off.

Raime quickly deactivates [Detect] to prevent observing what his mind wasn't designed to observe, lest he risk his mind breaking from attempting to even comprehend it. Shaking away the vestiges of the ringing in his head, he warns the others in the group of the risk of fighting in the area. "Fight near the sources of light as best you can, the dark is almost certain death even without the bottomless tar pools." But as Raime readied to fight, something caught him off guard. The apparent boss monster actually spoke.

"So we fightin’ fighting, hanh? Bring it on then, ya fuckers! Let’s fucking GOOOOO!"

"It can fucking talk!?" And as if to shock him another time, the figure closed the distance between itself and the rest of the group in a blink of an eye. Amulak had little time to react but managed to lift up a defensive barrier. He can only hope that the arcane barrier would be enough to save the caster's legs. Raime on the other hand will try to counter the attack against the mud covered humanoid. Engaging the enemy activates [First In, First Out] passive buff to his movement speed followed by activating [Zoned In] to give him a 20% boost to his Agility. The scout will then unleash a flurry of six slashes at the axe wielding monster as it tries to make a beeline at Amulak. To defend against any attacks made against him, Raime prepares [Dive N Strike] to give him a chance to avoid damage and give the following attack he does a boost.

There was that high pitched whine again as Ames watched Magpie be enveloped in darkness. Raime's warning would have been great had the girl not already disappeared. On top of that, they had a wild axe-wielding flaming mud man bearing down on them - and fast. Though she wasn't the guy's current target, Ames stood and backed away slightly, preparing to draw her sword. When she did the shield that was still out there pulled back with her, and the animist froze. She probably shouldn't take the light source too far, what if Mags got stuck in the dark? She at least needed to keep the fiery shield out there until their knucklehead returned.

While Raime struck out, Ames took her blade in both hands in a [Combat Stance]. She raised her endurance in preparation to defend the crew from counterattacks. With the way the mud man spoke he seemed more like a fellow player than a monster. At least she couldn't imagine any monsters designed to speak that way. Did he pick it up from some Immortal? Or maybe this dude was just a human - but then why was he skulking around in a place like this?!

"That will be great!" Ari dropped back all her knives into the sheath. "Maybe I can learn some advanced techniques or footwork. Or a way to craft stuff."

Footwork, crafting, and speed. She had already been reminded time and time again that her strength wasn't good enough to jump high or break through things with muscle alone. Ari also didn't want to be a meathead. Ergo, the only other thing she could rely on would be special techniques, of which she had barely any, and items, with one waiting for her when she returned.

Or... anything else that might be on that wagon. After all, if the merchant was evil, no one would bat an eye if she was to lift something off the wagon.

Well, that didn't work. Who knew that leaping at someone with a frozen body didn't work. Not Mags, that's who. The ghostly dark enveloped her. Nothing attacked her guts yet, thankfully. She couldn't punch a ghost in the face after all. Well, if one time didn't work...

With thundering footsteps, Mags did the exact same move: a flying, frozen belly flop but from the dark. This time, however, she unleashed a mighty (re: not that mighty) war cry.

"Wouldn't it be funny if this was just some player?" Her battle words rang out as she flew in from the darkness, her body taught as she flew.
