Abjuration (9)
Chromatic Barrier
Stormy's Abjuration magic specializes in magical defenses that serve the purpose of defending against other forms of magic as well as physical effects. He can produce a solid barrier out of magic that acts like a shield. Stormy has a different shield for each type of magic, which is either dispelled or outright denied if thrown against them. For example, a fireball would explode against the shield, but a zombie raised by necromancy would have to touch a shield before the necromancy propelling it can be abjured. 

Stormy has to know what school of magic is being used if he wants to defend against it; A fireball used produced with Evocation would pass right through Stormy's Transmutation barrier. Each barrier can be made larger or smaller, but more concentration is required depending on how large a barrier is, or how many of each different type is present. Chromatic Barriers can be used to protect against physical danger, but they are broken much more easily by something a crowbar or a shotgun than a fireball.

Safeguard
Stormy can touch another person, human or witch, and wrap them in a protective layer of magic that shields them from harm. He has to touch someone in order to keep use this ability, and it lasts up to 30 minutes, with or without the manacles being used. While someone is Safeguarded, magic is dispelled upon contact, but they glow like a Christmas tree- It's very obvious that they're being protected by a magic shell. The Safeguard can be overtaken by focusing enough magic on it, eventually causing it to burn out faster. The Safeguard spell grows weaker the longer it is active and is strongest shortly after first being used. 

A person can only be Safeguarded once every five minutes. Stormy can’t use this on an entire group all at once.

Iron Dome
Stormy can create a glowing dome of abjuration magic. The Iron Dome is meant to defend multiple people from both magical and physical threats on a wider scale than a Chromatic Barrier. It requires Stormy to be standing inside it, as well as his complete concentration. Other witches can stand inside it after it is created, but unless it is broken from an outside source by a strong enough attack, no one can enter or leave. If Stormy loses concentration while maintaining the Iron Dome for even a moment, it vanishes. The Iron Dome negates magic on the inside, which can be useful, but poses a problem when Stormy is protecting a witch while they are trying to use something like healing magic. 

Without the Bulwark Manacles, Stormy’s Iron Dome is more of an Iron Hamster Ball, he doesn’t have the power necessary to make it any larger on his own, and it is much easier for magic to overtake the negation inside the smaller version.

Bulwark Manacles
The Bulwark Manacles are a pair of heavy chains meant to act as a conduit for Stormy's Abjuration magic. At one end of each manacle is a ring that rests around Stormy's wrists, and at the other is a latch to fasten them in place once wrapped around his arms. Each link in the chain has been painstakingly tempered and inscribed with multiple Abjuration runes by Stormy over the course of most of his life. The manacles are his life's work and bring out his full potential for magic. The countless runes require a great deal of maintenance and fine metalworking to remain intact, and without this pair of magic conduits. Stormy's other Abjuration abilities have been developed with the manacles intended to be a central focus, and without them, these abilities cannot be used to their fullest extents, if at all.

Evocation (5)
Convection
Stormy's Evocation magic is focused on heat. He can generate a flame that traps its own heat like a greenhouse effect, rotating and expanding outwards to form what looks like the inside of a small forge. This can be used to provide heat in cold or wet environments, light in the dark, or to heat something up. Stormy is skilled user of fire, but not a powerful one; Using this in a combat situation would be impractical, as it takes several minutes to make the heat build up enough.

Freezer Burn
As it turns out, concentrating heat into a basketball-sized sphere can be dangerous, and sometimes hurtful, so Stormy has a trick for soothing burns using Evocation. He can quickly lower the temperature of his hands enough that water begins to condense on his skin and whatever he touches. It is essentially a magic reusable ice pack. It's an easy ability that most evokers would have little trouble learning but doesn't provide much more cooling than a high-quality ice pack.

Driven
Stormy is extremely dedicated to completing a goal he resolves himself to. He spent most of life working towards multiple goals at the same time, even when more than one of them began to impact his health in negative ways. Trying to make him change his mind about what he's set out to do is an exercise in futility.

Protective
Like a dog watching over its children, Stormy naturally gravitates to the act of looking out for everyone around him. He tends to put himself last when his friends need help, which actually makes it easier for him to find a balance between taking care of himself and doing his part around Shipden. It may seem like he's letting his own needs to untouched, but the way he helps others is part of tending to those needs.

Brave
A kill squad of over thirty armed soldiers with the intent to exterminate every witch in Shipden could surround him, and Stormy would cross his arms in disappointment before he thought to run in fear. He knows when to back down from danger, and often does so easily, but when Stormy chooses to stand his ground, he doesn't even flinch. He's not afraid to get elbow-deep in sticky situations.

Patient
One of Stormy's most defining characteristics is his ability to just deal. Intolerant humans, ignorance, slow outcomes, it doesn't matter. Stormy is used to spending years at a time working towards his goals, and teaching witches about magic subjects that they struggled to grasp. He understands that some things take time to change or make happen.

From the time Scott Wheeler displayed an affinity for Abjuration magic, his life with his single foster parent became incredibly difficult. Stormy had no clear memories of his real parents, and practically grew up in the system. Before the age of twelve, he heard a lot about witches, even went to school with some of them until they disappeared overtime. His father had a habit of drinking himself stupid in the small hours of the morning and screaming at the tv about how witches were evil and a threat, and any other venomous expletives he still had the cognitive function to pronounce. Once Stormy realized he was one of those witches, he feared for his life but also started craving knowledge about magic. He learned what Abjuration was through countless hours of searching through the internet, and eventually got bold enough to experiment with it. Stormy vaguely learned that Abjuration was about shielding people from harmful magic, and he took that literally, so he tried to make shields out of thin air. Two months later, he could make a paper-thin sheet of solid energy the size of a dinner plate. He tried to hide it from his father, because the man was a walking time bomb of anger and toxicity, but it was in vain. 

What followed was the worst outburst Stormy ever saw out of him, a pitiful response from CPS due to his status of personhood as a witch, a trip to the local hospital, and finally a begged-for decision to send him to the nearest magic school. That school was by the coast of Delaware, where he spent most of his life. The teachers there were overworked, with one teacher for every forty witch students. The teachers he actually got to learn from weren't capable of teaching him very well when it came to Abjuration, but he was able to use the opportunity to do it himself. He used textbooks as substitutes for erratic internet searches and used the school's less-crowded environments to practice on his own. Most of the students there left around 2pm, but Stormy lived there with the other 100 students that left home permanently. His teachers didn't care enough to pay attention to experiments, they were just trying to not have a stroke during the stresses of the day. Stormy proved to be one of the better students in his Abjuration class though, and eventually some teachers actually got to know him enough to point him towards some more fitting sources of magic information. When he got his hands on more textbooks, he started to really internalize how overworked and strained the educational system was, especially on witches. Stormy considered himself one of the better students as far as magic skill, so he decided to help the teachers out as best he could. 

He got to know some of the younger magic students and started helping them with their magic training. Stormy took what he drilled into his head through countless hours of grueling study and directed it at others who needed help. While he didn't end up doing the teacher's job at that age, he was a significant help for his fellow students. After his first year of doing this, Stormy was leaps and bounds ahead of where he was before leaving home. Over the summer break, he managed to branch out into both a part time job at a gas station and furthering his handle on Abjuration. One day, he was walking across the coast when he saw a ruined boat with a rusted chain spilled across the sand. Stormy immediately had the idea to turn that chain into something magical, which became the start of a lifelong project of converting a mundane, rusted and forgotten piece of metal into a sophisticated masterpiece of Abjuration magic. It took two years for his shield magic to work through the countless runes he carved with Evocation and whatever he could find, but it did wonders for Stormy's magic growth as time passed.

Ten years of countless magic study and aiding younger, less experienced witches through the process of study in an inadequate environment cemented a feeling of superiority in Stormy. Not superiority in the sense that he was better than everyone, but a feeling that he could help them better than these overworked, underpaid teachers that tried and fumbled through the years. After one summer of working on his magic chains and pulling overtime at his now full time job at a gas station with a 30-cent raise at the age of 23, Stormy funneled every last penny he made over the last decade of witch school into an education degree. He served as an assistant teacher for a witch school during the next four years, until finally at 28 did Stormy officially have a position at a magic school as a teacher of both world history and Abjuration. He joined the nearest coven out of legal requirement, but never interacted with them outside of the occasional coven representative looking for him for checking in on the school through their members. His Abjuration class was the source of some of the proudest moments in Stormy's life; He taught students how to master abjuration, how to combat every single school and get around someone doing the same thing. Stormy's students quickly felt like they could get somewhere when he started teaching.

For the next six years, that was his routine: Teach Abjuration, study Abjuration, use Abjuration and Evocation to work on the chains, work out at home for an hour or two, and repeat. Stormy was profoundly dedicating to guiding his students to be the best magic-users they could and helped them out of bad situations like his own whenever he found out about one having a bad father or an unsafe homelife. Other teachers knew him as the witch to bring in for safety measures during practical assignments where fire or illusions were being used. Every day during every live exercise the school had, Stormy stopped them from getting dangerous, or immediately shut down a rampant magic experiment when it got out of control. He won five of the school's Teacher of the Year Awards. He might've won the last one if the fire didn't happen.

One day, he was in the teacher's lounge getting some coffee when he heard an explosion. Someone was shouting at someone else, and then could see people running down the street. When Stormy walked out into the hall to see what was happening, he saw smoke coming from the stairs. The building was on fire. He ran and pulled the fire alarm and in a mad dash, he started summoning shields to get people to safety. The only problem was the doors were barred. Whoever set a fire had locked them in, so they broke windows and tried desperately to break the doors open, but the clamor of panicked students won out over the teachers who tried to keep the peace. Almost half an hour had passed, and the air was no longer breathable, when someone managed to get a door open. Stormy lined a path with barriers and was the last person to get out alive. 30 people were killed, over a hundred were wounded, including Stormy. Apparently, the doors were barred with whatever the culprits had with them- Sledgehammers, stolen rebar, chains, and cinderblocks. There wasn't enough time to salvage any of the building before it fell in on itself. That was the only witch school for 20 miles. 

After a stay in the hospital for burns and respiratory damage, Stormy spiraled downwards for months. Everything he worked towards was taken from him in a matter of hours. Several of the lives he impacted were put to an end, and now every witch in his city was without a school. Stormy was out of a job. He lost his apartment and was living out of a car for three months before he ran into Lina Calvo, who helped him transfer from his old Coven and move to Shipden. A year and nine months later, he now teaches at Bennington's human school, having found his rhythm again.  Stormy hasn't hit such a low point in his life since then, has gone to every length he can to pitch in for the Coven, from making runs into town for the mail or filling the back of his car with the things people need from town. Stormy also happily provides words of wisdom for Abjuration at the Coven whenever someone needs it.

Transmutation 8
Inorganic Transmutation 
Phalko can manipulate inorganic substances, to shape or transform non-carbonic/-living material or object into another. This ability is limited to size of the material, requires concentration, and the witch has to study the object that they want to turn something into in regards to its shape and composition. Examples for this are transforming a wooden stick into a rapier or shaping it to their will. Weapons they have created like this include throwing knifes, dagger, rapier, sabre, bastard sword, knightly sword, long sword, and they are currently experimenting with Zweihänder but are a bit reluctant to do so. The most extensive transmutation they have completed so far is turning sand into a fully functioning children’s bicycle.

Animal Transfiguration
Same as above but applied to living beings. They can transform them into other creatures of the same size. The biggest change they have performed has been turning a rabbit into a cat. Most often they transfigure rats for example birds or other rodents, since they have two pet rats. Currently they train to combine these two aspects of transmutation to change non-living things into beings of the same size and vice versa.

Humanic Transfiguration 
Phalko can change their appearance and has so far been able to change up to 5 traits at the same time for a maximum of 3hours. How long they can maintain the transfiguration depends on the number of traits changed. They can change for example their hair (length, texture, colour), bone structure of the face (cheeks, nose, jaw), hight.

Conjuration 7
Pocket Dimesional Storage
Over the years Phalko has created their own pocket dimension, it is currently the size of a 1m³ box. Accessing this space requires concentration and immensely disrupting Phalko during the process may result in only half conjured objects or beings being conjured. They use it to store material for their inorganic transfigurations, or to move objects they either need to keep safe or couldn’t otherwise take with them. Though they can also put animals in their pocket dimension the dislike doing so.

Teleportation
They can teleport from place A to B by manipulating space, shortening it. They can do this within 30 feet if they can see the space they intend to occupy. Advanced users can apply this to targeted objects/beings as well but Phalko has so far not attempted it.

Personality

Observative
Phalko doesn`t talk alot and often seems laid back and cool but some perceive them as calculating. They're not into small talk and prefer to collect information abt people, things and their crafts.

Inquisitive
In conversation they focus on peeking beneath the surface of a person. Since they're aware that their direct approach to relationships is seldomly appreciated Phalko tends to stick to learning more about magic and the world. Their curious nature with attention to detail used to get them into trouble with authority figures however by now they try to hold back more but they're struggling with it.

Witty
Around people they're close to Phalko likes to make witty comments and the attention and laughter they receive from family, friends, occasionally coworkers spraks joy within them.

History

Phalko originally lived in Bennington and is close to their family and especially their two cousins since they grew up like siblings and went to the same school. Their cousins graduated earlier and Phalko has kept in contact with them and family with emails, texts, and video calls, visitig whenever they could.

They have studied magic at first for 10 years working hard to strengthen and perfect transforming things, beings, and themselves which has helped with their gender expression, as well as growing their pocket dimension. Following their interest of the composition of the world around them they tried to pursue a bachelors degree in biology but were ultimatly bored by the lack of practical experience the programm offered. At 25 they decided that a more hands on approach was more suitable to them and worked as an research assitent in their two schools of magic. 

With the growing unease in the country funding was cut for their reasearch facility and their contract terminated. They moved back to Bennington and joined the Coven of Shipden Peak after shortly crashing at their parents to orient themselves.

The moment I laid eyes on her I knew she didn't like me.    APPEARANCE       

"Something about simplicity is just so attractive."

Copper-brown hair slicks loosely back above a bronze complexion; hazel eyes glimmer between stacked lashes; and a crease between his brows are making its permanence from his continuous smolder. A cigarette is lit. Puffing smoke between his gentle lips helps layer his nonchalance with a bad boy charm. Enzo stands with a simple slouch, his broad frame accentuated by either a leather jacket or a navy overcoat. Standing tall, he enjoys towering over the general public.

Without much of any flaws to pinpoint on the otherwise male model, Enzo teeters back and forth between battling insecurities and maintaining confidence. Although puberty did him well, granting him a unique charm that he decides to relish in rather than humble over, he lived a long while with harsh scrutiny. Yet, Enzo has come to perfect his mannerisms in a way that gets him what he wants most of the time. A sly wink and a reveal of his dimple is how he starts, leading to a wildly seductive touch and a tantalizing rasp to his voice.

Evocation (9)
Pyromancer
Enzo has always found joy in playing with fire ever since he created his first spark. The thrill of engulfing things in flame and the accompanying intimidation that comes with such scorching destruction has given Enzo a love for this particular school of magic. Focusing hard on it, he’s come to manipulate flames very efficiently. He’s capable of conjuring flames as well, but using pre-existing flames will require far less energy. A major weakness would be to extinguish the flames he produces, causing him to burnout rather quickly. Enzo battles best in an area of his own fire; though dangerous to himself and any allies within proximity if handled incorrectly.

Pillars of Fire
Enzo’s prowess with the element of fire has proceeded to such destructive extents. Reckless enough to injure even himself if he gets carried away, but useful against the right opponent – or opponents. Enzo can create ignitions of flame and let it soar to a big engulfing flame.

Cones of Flame
Fireblasts are one thing, but a cone of flame sent from his fingertips are what can truly light up a room in heat and demolition. Though it isn’t energy efficient, Enzo can send scorching fire from his hands in a cone in front of him.

Abjuration (3)
Restriction Field
As his prowess with fire had only increased, it became a bit of an issue when it came to keeping others safe, as well as his surroundings. One wrong move and somebody could unintentionally get hurt, or the building could light on fire and it becomes a fire escape instead of a battle. Thus, his teachers had suggested abjuration to help contain his magic. Enzo learned the ability to create an existing restriction field, at the cost of an energy reserve. Enzo casts the field in a radius around him. Magic that's casted within the field, or magic that enters the field, is weakened. This tactic gives him an upper hand since his magic tends to be more ruinous than others.

   PERSONALITY       

"Confidence is key."

Secretive
Upon the first impression of Enzo, anyone could tell that he lives behind a veil of mystery. He lives a life with a background full of secrets that he chooses not to share. Though charming and charismatic, it’s hard to break through his shell to reveal what really lies within. He’s very selective of who he shares his past with, requiring a big amount of trust to even get to that point.

Determined
Enzo has always been somewhat of an entrepreneur. Whether it’s working hard towards that goal or going through obstacles to reach a certain destination, he will go through great lengths when he has his mind set on something. He will always be determined to get what he wants, regardless of what stands in his way. This trait can make him seem selfish or too greedy, but when Enzo sets his heart on something, he’s going to get there or die trying. Failure does not sit well with him.

Flirtatious
Being a guy of attraction and glitz, Enzo relishes in extravagance. Most interactions with Enzo always have some sense of flirtation – which can irritate many or entice some. He struggles to be serious most of the time, finding comfort in being coquettish. He also uses this as a form of a defense mechanism when it comes to social interactions.

Protector’s Heart
Though coming off cocky when he offers his abilities at the defense of somebody else, he truly does have good intentions. Enzo always seeks to protect others the best that he can, finding joy in the rewarding feeling that comes with being an aegis for any person or thing. Growing up, it was always a responsibility he had to his coven, but it wasn’t any chore or nuisance to him; it was chivalrous and fulfilling.

   HISTORY       

Enzo, the Torch of Coven Ferrari

Responsibility and duty are the foundations of Enzo’s history, but glamor and luxury are sprinkled all throughout. Being among the rich is all polished with chandeliers, marble floors, and mega mansions. He was always fitted for the most expensive clothes, dressed to the nines for any sort of event. Enzo’s all-too-familiar with the cologne-scented suits and the silken gowns adorned in glimmering jewelry, just to go to dinner on a wednesday night, toasting with Dom Perignon about some sort of victory his coven had accomplished.

But indulgence didn’t come without a cost. Enzo had big shoes to fill, simply because of the family he was born into. His coven consisted of talented witches, all held at high standards to perform the duties in which granted them their fortune. Coven Ferrari were silently revered for their services to protect. Being more underground and primarily known within the realm of the rich, they were able to keep things from spreading through media. They were secretly hired for several tasks for celebrities, political figures, wealthy individuals, or even abjurers that needed safeguarding. Through networking, Coven Ferrari had made their way to the top, immersing themselves in a ritzy lifestyle that has made them filthy rich for the past several decades. Being a coven based within Italy, the laws weren’t as strict against them, making their lifestyle that much more possible.

Enzo’s childhood had always been with a mix of siblings, cousins, aunts, and uncles; but with a constant overarching discipline from his parents. More specifically, his father – leaving very little room for clemency. When it came to magic and poise, it was as if it was beaten into him without breaks. Enzo grew up with a child’s spirit, but it was quickly molded into a graceful masculinity with a fearless yearning to protect. Though teetering the criteria of what may be abuse, Enzo did respect his father immensely; however twisted his personality might’ve become through his influence. Strangely enough, Enzo strives to be like him in many ways, but fights to be unlike him in many others.

Enzo’s prowess with evocation took great recognition, which only made things harder for him. Through a constant lens of criticism, he needed to perfect such a hard-controlling school of magic to properly perform for his coven. With repetition and strict guidance, he had made his way to become a stalwart of his coven. He stood a little straighter, walked a little faster, and puffed his chest a little higher – his confidence surfaced. After several successes, he was then nicknamed the Torch of Coven Ferrari. 

And as fast as he grew within his coven, it was just as quick to fall as well. One misplayed mission was all it took for the coven’s presence to spread like wildfire. It stirred a lot of controversy, many believing that their services went against the laws that other countries had placed among witches. Additionally, their freedom to use magic as they did was seen as unfair to witches that didn’t have that same privilege. In turn, Italy had instilled newer, stricter laws due to their discovery. Coven Ferrari was told to disband, but many of them couldn’t bear to leave their rich lifestyle. Instead, they continued their work, but punishment was just around the corner from their inability to stop. Several coven members were assassinated, falling fast and consistently like dominoes. As a result, many of the coven members fled for safety. Enzo, being as grounded and as unyielding as he was, stuck around until the very end. He watched his family die, only to be one of the few survivors left. In a theatrical event, Enzo engulfed their mansions in flames and made way for the US. 

Enzo had successfully escaped Italy, changing his last name to his father’s name: Leonardo. He more recently joined the Witches of Shipden Creek, hoping to lead a new life with his past buried. But one day, he seeks to search for the ones responsible for murdering his family.

The wound or pain does not instantly heal, as for some with the ability may accomplish. But for Sage, the pain or wound mirrors onto her to heal at a faster pace.

Divination 4
Astral Vision
This ability Sage struggles with the most. Unable to get a grip on it’s function, Sage finds herself slipping into these visions while half asleep, in the middle of the night. On rare occasions, she can sense the unborn or stillborn children of her patients and give them peace. Sage can sometimes find herself with answers to things she has no way of knowing, if not for her astral dreams.

Enchantment 5 
Mind Link
Most useful to Sage is her Mind Link ability. Similar to her healing, she has to maintain a physical connection with the linked being to have persistent use. The ability will fade away after twenty to thirty minutes after physical connection is broken. While this ability is being used, the whites of her eyes and inner canals of her ears have a soft heated glow.

She enjoyed listening to people talk instead of constantly interjecting the conversation to hear herself. People often describe it as a poetic grace that calms her features. With a belief whole heartedly in the balance of karmic creation, Sage rolls with the waves of the world instead of fighting them. 

Due to her lack of dramatics when faced with struggle, Sage utilizes her surroundings well. With an easy going flair, Sage can turn over a solution in moments. 

With a cherry on top, the struggles of life cannot bring Sage down. Great trust in the universe to replenish her pain with pleasure has her always looking on the brighter side of things.

History

The early days of Sage’s existence on this particular smidgen of the galaxy began a bit rocky. She was born into an anti witch household, to a father of witch blood line and a cut throat attitude towards such people. Her mother was just human, an every day plain Jane who stayed home to raise Sage and her four older brothers. 

Even from her toddler days, her mother began to notice the signs of Sage’s ability. From talk of strange dreams, where Sage began bringing back messages from the dead for the living. To her brothers openly complaining about their playful sister who could touch them and start singing loudly in their heads. 

When Sage reached ten, such things were much harder to hide from her father, especially as her brothers grew older and wiser than her. 

The faitful night her father was told about Sage’s “dreadful” condition, he was quick to offer her up to his anti witch occult. He arranged for her transportation to an anti magic facility. All while her mother quickly arranged for Sage to run away to her estranged grandmother, where she would be hidden from her father. 

Sage’s grandmother took her in gladly, moving her into her forever home at Shipden Peak. The heart ache of leaving her family so soon is something Sage still struggles with. Trying to come  to terms with never seeing her brothers or her mother again still haunts her. Even now, her astral dreams will take her back to her childhood home. But it is nothing she recognizes now, only fear and dark corners. 

Her grandmother sent Sage to school as soon as she was able. Mentored her on her midwifery skills, as it is a family practice and something the Bishop family is well known for in the community. Sage even pushed herself to complete a nursing program to further her ability to help the locals outside of obstetrics and gynecology. 

She takes pride in her work and finds it to be her true calling. There’s nothing quite like helping a new witch be born into the world.

Astral Vision
This ability Sage struggles with the most. Unable to get a grip on it’s function, Sage finds herself slipping into these visions while half asleep, or even in the middle of a work session. It’s strength grows, possibility more common when a mind link is established with someone. After a long hard day of work, her house can sometimes become a spirit central, glimpses of people moving, talking, but no sound as Sage ignores them with an eye roll and climbs into her bed. Unfortunate for her, she cannot hear them, so she finds it a nuisance more than helpful most of the time.

Enchantment 5 
Mind Link
Most useful to Sage is her Mind Link ability. In order to use this thoroughly, she must create a physical link created with old traditional magic that she learned from her grandmother. A homemade solution of herbs and oil used to write runes on the participant. This maintains a link that would last an hour and can grow in strength the more it is used. She can essentially maintain silent communication with the recipient, both from her and them. Her runes do not have to be written again once it is completed originally and over time the link can fade with no practice.

I have wanted to write an apprentice for a long while. Not having strong magical abilities gives him somewhere to grow and a need for others that can help him develop. I like to write characters that have something to overcome and are not mega-powerful.

Transmutation
Transmute Liquid
Andrew has the ability to change liquids from one type to another. The spell requires him to be very near the liquid, like touching the container. His favorite use is changing a keg of beer to root beer or water. At moderate levels, this could change water to gasoline. At a higher level, he could produce blood.  The amount is controlled by the level. A keg is about as much as he can do at this time. [Power 5]
Mend
Andrew has the ability to repair things with a touch. At this level, he can repair some simple broken items, doors that were kicked in, metal housing, or impellors from water pumps. As his abilities grow the size of what he could repair would increase. (This does to allow him to mend living flesh). [power 3]
Open
Andrew has the ability to pick a lock. He has lock picks that act like magical foci. He can open basic locks, house, and vehicle locks.  [power 5]


Enchantment
Calm the Beast
Andrew has the ability to keep animals calm. Useful for when a bear comes into town or his horse decides to be spooked. This is a line of sight spell that requires concentration. [power 1]


Conjuration
Find the tool (Telekinesis)
Andrew has the ability to have tools come to him. Useful when you are under a vehicle and you need a 10mm socket. This spell is line-of-sight. The best he can do is the five-pound sledgehammer. He thinks he could get a cat out of the tree with it, but it is easier to just get the fire truck or a ladder. He would be able to deflect a bullet but not stop it at this point. [power 2]


Personality

Honest Andrew is a good man and someone people can depend on. In his youth, he ran in the streets of Atlanta and was a hoodlum. He has a code to protect people. At time, he may choose not to follow the letter of the law to help someone out once. The next time he will throw the book at them.
Curious Andrew wants to answer the basic questions detectives try to answer: Who did it? How did they do it? And Why did they do it? Sometime Where did they do it? Andrew got a late start on his magical training, so in many ways, he is an apprentice.
Determined Andrew is determined. If he puts his mind to something, we will figure out a way to do it. If you speed through town, he will chase you to the State Line.
Friendly Andrew liked people and prefers to be the good cop rather than being harsh. He will laugh and joke with you as he writes a ticket, and ask about your family and where you are from. He might even reduce the fine a bit if you are polite.
Heroic Andrew would dash into a burning building to save someone, pull them from a burning car, and jump in the river to save someone drowning. To him, it is just his job.


Weaknesses

Still learning his magic Andrew's magic is weaker than most people his age. He also has a harder time controlling it. Some times it may fizzle on him.
Stuborn Andrew was a Marine. He has a tendency to be stubborn when his mind is made up.
Skeptical People lie and make up stories about things. He always thinks people are trying to pull a hustle because he was that kid.
Determined Andrew is determined. If you speed through town, you are getting a ticket. Even if that means he has to chase you to the State line. If he thinks he can do something, he will push through till he can.
Rule bender Some rules are just meant to be bent. Being an officer, there are times you give a warning rather than a ticket. He has a soft spot for young people.

History


Andrew grew up in intercity Atlanta to a single mother who died when he was a young teenager. His mother worked two minimum wage jobs to keep a roof over their heads. Like many southern witches, she tried to keep Andrew from developing his magical abilities. His powers would manifest themselves at times and she would explain them away by using her own to mask his.  Like many witches, there is a distrust of the government, and Southern Baptist Religious thinking is directly opposed to the use of magic. 
Because of the amount his mother worked, Andrew spent a lot of time running the streets. After his mother died he became a full-time gang member. He loved it. He had money, power, and girls, and he was never hungry. He learned how to steal vehicles and break into truck trailers and train cars. Like most young men, he believed he was unstoppable and bulletproof, till he was shot. He also started to learn about his magic and how to use it.

In the ICU of the hospital, Andrew’s life fell apart. He woke up to see handcuffs on his arms and legs, and a large African-American police officer looking down at him. His name was Captain Thomas McCain and he became a father figure for Andrew. This is where he learned about repairing cars rather than stealing them.  The traditional schooling did not work well for him as he had unofficially dropped out of school.

After three years, Andrew was enlisted in the Marines. He earned his GED with the help of a Drill Sergeant.  He was first assigned to the mechanics' corps and then assigned to the M.P.s. When he was discharged he attended college in Atlanta and received a degree in Criminal Justice. 

It was Captain McCain that suggested that Andrew apply for the officer job in City Bennington. He applied for the job, interviewed, and got the position. He has a nice apartment above the city garage next to the police station.
