Taivas

Before Taivas left, he told Dotty and the newly arrived Zen to protect Briar Rose. While protecting the princess, the three friends would go to Maleficent’s castle to stop her reign of terror. He was sure that Zen could protect her while he was away. The three left, but Taivas wondered if his friends knew where Maleficent’s castle was.“So do you guys even know where Maleficent’s castle is?” He asked, which made Adian turn to face him.

“When we first landed and started investigating, we found where her castle is located. But to get inside undetected, we must take a secret path into the dungeons. It’s a good thing we also learned where this secret entrance is.” Adian kept walking with Xera, speaking up.

“So Taivas, do you remember what happened to our world?” She asked, but Taivas just shook his head. “The heartless invaded our world, and the darkness got you before we could escape. We escaped in Adian’s ship and travelled to a nearby world. Where we learned about the heartless and how to stop them. And our investigation led us here to you.” She said, sounding like she was going to cry. She was saddened knowing that her home and loved ones were gone forever. But at least she had Adian and Taivas.

The three friends were now in a clearing and could see the looming shadow of Maleficent’s castle in the distance. According to Taivas, they would go through the nearby catacombs, which were located in a nearby cemetery. From there, they would use the castle's sewers to enter the dungeons. The three of them moved from the clearing and into the graveyard. Taivas and Xera were scanning the area in case Heartless would try to ambush them. Adian founded the mausoleum that would lead to the catacombs.

Adian broke open the door with his weapon, and once inside, he and Taivas pushed the tomb aside, revealing a large hole underneath. Taivas looked up at his friends, worried that the plan would fail. “Are you sure this plan is gonna work?” He asked Adian as he was slowly lowering himself down the hole. But he stopped midway to respond.

“Well, it’s better than nothing, unless you wanna use the front door.” He smiled, which made Taivas scold him. He didn’t want this plan to fail and lose his friends again. But he had some hope that Adian and, to an extent, Xera knew what they were doing. Soon, the group of friends descended into the hole and found themselves inside the catacombs. There was the faint scent of death and decay in the air. Now they would have to be careful, there might be heartless waiting to ambush them. Xera cast a spell to illuminate their path. The group started making their way further inside the catacombs.

Dotty saluted to Taivas as he gave her her "Special secret mission" "Poodlewolf, you know what this means?"

"That the hopes and dreams of this kingdom and are entirely dependent on you and your ability to concentrate?" Zen-Aku responded. She scowled at him in response.

"No, silly. It means that i have been chosen by the party to take on a difficult quest with only you, Poodlewolf to guide me. WE GOT A QUEST!!!" She jumped around in a circle, far too excited to even pretend to hold it in. "I GOTTA TELL MY FIANCE!!!" She giggled, looking around. "Hubby?" She called, before looking around again and saw only Briar Rose. "Yo, Lady, where did the tall drink of water go? The hot one with the scarlet cloak and the dreamy eyes and the cute hair..." She sighed with longing. Briar didn't respond. She walked up to her and tugged her dress. "Oi, lady!" She tugged again. Briar looked down at her.

"Oh, i'm dreadfully sorry, young one." She smiled, bending down. "How may i help you?"

"I asked what happened to Tall, Dark and Handsome?" She asked again, getting slightly annoyed at this woman who was making goo-goo eyes at her man. Briar looked off longingly.

"He said he needed to inform his father of what was going to happen?" She smiled. Dotty smiled in response.

"Oh yes, engagement after such a short time is always a whirlwind. But love is love." She cooed longingly to be held in his arms again. Briar nodded.

"Indeed, i will need to tell my guardians." She smiled. Zen-Aku watched Yuna, Rikku and Paine zooming off towards their home. "Come, you are to be my protector?" She smiled, humouring the little girl.

"Could beat your butt with my mask." The little girl scowled, grabbing it. Zen-Aku's spirit grabbed the mask to prevent Dotty from putting it on. Dotty scowled at him, before remembering the quest. She rolled her eyes as she slung the mask back around her back. As Briar danced gracefully through the forest, Dotty followed her. "I don't get it, Poodlewolf, why is she so happy that he is marrying me?" Zen-Aku looked at her.

"Perhaps... She is under the impression that he's going to marry her?" Dotty looked around, shocked and appalled by such an accusation.

"MARRY MY MAN?!?!?!?" She screamed. She looked back at Briar, watching her not paying attention to the puppies freak-out. "Look at that tramp!" She growled. "Look at how happy she is at the idea of stealing MY man! Just because she has a perfect figure and..." She looked down at her own flat chest. "Being old enough to actually have babies..." She shook her head. "She's so confident in her perfection. I mean look at her." She growled as music slowly wafted through the air. "I bet she wakes up every morning looking to break another girls heart, stealing another man..."

Zen-Aku stood looking at the huffing child as she finished her long tirade of accusations of Briar's infinite vanity. "That's it. No more Sugar before missions."

"NO FAIR!!!!" She screamed.

Wonderland v Alias

Alias and Alice followed his shadow back to the Queen's Court. Alias was getting an uneasy feeling in his stomach. They wanted to prove to the Queen that they weren't the ones responsible for the shadows so why did it seem like Shadow Alias was actually leading them there? He wanted to stop and think before running into this obvious trap, but he just wanted to get this over with and get Alice out of there. He couldn't just leave his shadow rampaging around another world, even a bizarre one like this. He didn't even know how he was supposed to leave this world. Maybe it was possible to climb back up the hole they fell through. He was sure Alice didn't get here by ship. Maybe they could get one in the world above. But that was later's problem. Right now's problem was facing this shadow. "Alice, when we get to the Court, I need you to stay behind me."

"But Sir Alias, I can help! You saw what I did back there. Though I'm still not sure what I did back there. But I know I can do it again!" Alice piped up.

Alias laughed probably for the first time since all of this started. "I know, but I can't let you have all the fun. I need to get stronger in order to protect you and find my friends. Plus I need to let all of this anger out on something."

Alice silently nodded to show that she understood. It was nice to hear the young King laugh. He had been awfully serious since they met, but he was just a worrywart. He couldn't relax without knowing if his friends were okay. "We'll find them, Sir Alias, and I trust you with my life."

Alias was caught off guard by her words, but before he could respond they arrived in the Court to see Shadow Alias standing menacingly behind three card soldiers. But something was wrong with these soldiers. They were surrounded by a dark aura showing that they were possessed. He didn't even know Shadow Alias could do this. This wasn't going to be easy with them amped up on shadow juice.

The Queen watched anxiously to see who would be victorious here or if Alias would prove himself to be the villain after all.

"You think you can hide behind these soldiers, Shadow?" Alias asked as he conjured his keyblade. "I don't know who or what created you, but they got me all wrong. I'm not a coward and I don't use others to accomplish my goals. I'm going to free them and put down my imposter once and for all."

Alias couldn't help but to get a sense of deja vu as he charged forward. The situation reminded him of when he tried to save Hoshi from those three bullies back on the island. If only Kitsu was here. He hoped he found him soon. He wondered if he and Hoshi found each other already. The thought put a smile on his face as he swung at one of the card soldier's axe with enough force to knock it out of his hands. Alias's smile dropped as he pushed into the card with his shoulder and elbow to knock it to the ground. He rolled out of the way in time to avoid a red soldier's spear. He winced at the thought of the other card soldier being stabbed though. He knew he was alive or still animate, but he knew the Queen wouldn't be able to use him in a life sized card game again.

"You shouldn't impale people." Alias said as he jumped up from the ground with his keyblade pointing in the air. "Thunder!" He exclaimed summoning two bolts of lightning to strike the two remaining cards. There was a flash of light and when he could see again the cards were on the floor with stars circling their heads. Bizarre world indeed. He looked around to look for Shadow Alia---

"Sir Alias!!!"

Alias turned around to see Shadow Alias placing his hands on the floor in front of her creating a dark puddle. "Alice! DON'T TOUCH HER!!!" For a moment Alice's image flickered and Hoshi was in her place. Alias blinked and reached out his arm to see Alice again, but something strange was happening. The shadows that were possessing the cards were flowing into Alias and Shadow Alias was being pulled towards Alias with a great force. Shadow Alias tried to claw away, but the shadows were no longer his friends. He overplayed his hand and he was going to pay for it by being swallowed by Alias's heart. After Alias absorbed Shadow Alias there was a large flash of light that blinded even him. When his vision recovered he looked to where Alice was to see her no longer there. All that was left was the dark puddle getting smaller by the second. It... It took her. "Alice..." He failed her... She trusted him with her life. What was he going to do? He didn't know how to find her. He didn't know how to find anyone. He was alone again.

"It was you. You were responsible for all of this and now you took that poor little girl. You fooled her just like you fooled me and I will not be made a fool. Off with his head!!"

"Huh?" Alias asked. He was still processing what had happened and forgot the Queen was here with how silent she was before this. When he looked up he could see the remaining card soldiers charging towards him. He started running and he couldn't be sure, but he thought the soldiers he knocked out and saved were pretending to still be unconscious. That thought gave him a little bit of hope that things weren't over and could only get better from here.

Strange Friends

Alias made it back to the Bizarre Room where all of this weirdness started and finally caught his breath. He turned to face the talking door and sighed. He needed to figure something out. Alice was gone and he had no clue as to what to do or where to go next. "Somebody. Anybody. Help me."

As if waiting for that specific cue, the Cheshire Cat appeared with a smile.

"It's you! You always seem to pop up whenever it's convenient and you always seem to know what's going on. Do you know what happened to Alice?"

"Alice is gone, far from here, but also closer than you think." Cheshire answered as mysteriously as before.

"What does that even mean?" Alias asked as confused as ever.

A sheet of paper appeared in the air and floated down to Alias. "The name on that sheet has the answers you seek. Your shadow dropped it before you snatched him away."

Alias grabbed the paper and saw that it was some kind of research paper about Heartless!? The name on it was Ansem. He didn't know why, but the name felt familiar to him. He folded it and put it in one of his pockets and looked up to see that the Cheshire Cat was gone again, but the doorknob's mouth was glowing with a silhouette of a keyhole. He recalled the conversation he had with DiZ in his heart and conjured his keyblade once more. He aimed it at the keyhole and a beam of light emitted from it striking the keyhole. He heard the sound of a click before the keyhole returned to normal. He may not have saved Alice yet, but he at least saved this world from the Heartless.

"You seem to know what you're doing with that keyblade of yours." A mysterious, but smooth voice said from behind Alias.

He jumped in startlement and turned slowly to face her. She possessed a strange, yet mesmerizing presence. "Who are you?"

"Oh, please excuse my manners, Alias. My name is Mal. I'm a friend of your father, King Ansem, the Wise."

She knew his name and she just spoke the name of the man on the paper that Cheshire gave him. That couldn't have been a coincidence. She must be the help that DiZ mentioned. That was a relief and he was honestly too tired and stressed that even if she wasn't actually the help he needed she was the help that he had. "My father's a king?" That actually explained a lot about his own personality and desire to be King. It was his birthright.

"The greatest king I've ever met and I met my fair share. But he still paled in comparison to your mother. You look just like her."

Alias's eyes widened at this and Mal knew that she had him hook, line, and sinker. "My mom?"

"Elia. As smart as she was beautiful."

"Was?" Alias asked with a lump in his throat.

"She... She was unfortunately lost to the darkness, but there is a way to save her. You have to find the remaining Princesses and Prince of Heart and go back home. To where it all began. Radiant Garden. It won't be an easy journey however and unfortunately I don't have a gift to give you. But I have something that will help." Mal approached Alias slowly, still not trying to scare him off.

This woman, Mal, knew everything. She knew his parents and she even knew the name of his original world. That's why the voice inside of his heart kept calling him Child of Radiance. Alias was aware of how way too convenient and neatly packaged this all was, but he was getting answers about things that he wanted to know his entire life. He wasn't sure that he trusted her fully, but he'd use her until he found Alice and the others. If all Hearts of Light needed to be at Radiant Garden then whoever took Alice would be there waiting for him. He paused at the thought of using this woman to accomplish the goal of saving his friends. Was he really wrong back there in the Court? Did whoever created his shadow know him more than he knew himself?

Before Alias could answer the existential question he felt Mal's hand on his forehead. It was cold at first, but he soon felt a warm sensation as if energy flowed into him. "There. I've given you the ability to use the spell, Fire. But yours will come out as green flames. I've also given you the ability to travel through the Corridors of Darkness. You'll just have to open a portal and think of where you want to go. Though, you may find yourself in random worlds since you don't really know where to go yet. I'll open one for you." She waved her hand and a dark door manifested next to them. "I'll find you soon. But the next Princess you need to rescue is one by the name of Anastasia. She's currently in danger from a man who's more dead than alive. Find her quickly and then meet me in the Olympus Coliseum. You may even find your friends there."

That last sentence was all Alias needed to hear. Green flames and corridors of darkness were of no interest to him. If he could meet his friends this soon he'd take it. "Thank you, Mal. See you in Olympus." He turned and jumped through the dark door.

The Corridor closed behind him and the Cheshire Cat re-appeared next to Mal. A smile crept on her face almost as wide as the Cheshire's usual one. "I thought you had no intentions of joining us. He wouldn't have been so trusting had it not been for the research paper."

"I don't." Cheshire mused. "I'm just curious to see how it'll all play out. Will you win or will the young Prince consume your plans instead?"

"Curiosity killed the cat, you know." Mal finally said before opening a Corridor of Darkness for herself.

The Ice Queen Cometh

Ready to step through the Corridor she had opened, Mal paused... Something was amiss in this world. Throwing her cloak into the air like the reveal to a stageplay, Mal transformed into Maleficent, no longer hiding behind disguise as she peered around. From the moment Alias had stepped through the corridor, there was a quiet unease about this world. He had a strong light within him, but with that gone, there was something else here. It had been some time since she felt this presence, but off the top of her head she couldn't remember where from. She turned and looked around, and couldn't help but notice an unusual chill in the air. In fact, after only a few moments she could see her breath in front of her. Holding out her hand, a single snowflake fell, landing in her palm, and in that moment she remembered. With a twirl of her robe, she turned back to the Corridor, and stepped through it. It couldn't be happening here... could it?

-

"Find him! Find him find him findhimfindhim!!!!" The Queen of Hearts was absolutely fuming, face so red there was practically steam shooting out of her ears. How could an entire army of soldiers not find one foolish boy? When one of the Card Soldiers approached her, bowing low, she was hopeful of news that they were about to drag the boy back to her. But, with his hands trembling on his spear, all he could say was:

"Y... Your Majesty. There is absolutely no sign of him. We have searched every corner, under every bush, behind every tree, and questioned everyone who could possibly be sheltering him. It's as if he disappeared from this world entirely!"

The Queen practically vibrated with anger, face boiling to a red. "Find... him... or it will be off with YOUR HEAD!!!" She swung her scepter around like a lunatic, before pointing it at the soldier. She opened her mouth, no doubt ready to make another threat, but a snowflake drifted in front of her face, falling slowly, gently, and landed on the red heart of her scepter. Blinking in bewilderment, she looked around, before she felt a chill run up her spine. There was no way it should be snowing, not this time of year! Why, it was so warm just moments ago!

"What is happening, why is it snowing? Is this too that boy's doing?!" She was only getting angrier, forcing her throne to spin so she could stand and walk away, but as she turned around to do... something, even she didn't know what, far behind her throne, a dark corridor opened, and someone, or, some thing stepped through. A figure adorned in a black and blue robe, a crystal crown on their head, and their face obscured by some sort of veil, only bright glowing blue eyes barely visible on the other side.

The Queen was about to ask the question 'Who are you', but her eyes landed on the crown on their head, and her inner insecurities boiled to the top. So the question that actually came out, was "What are YOU doing here?! There is only room for ONE ruler here! Nobody gets to wear a crown in Wonderland but me! Guards!"

Without even thinking for a second longer, as card soldiers with spears lined the walkway all the way down to this newcomer, she pointed at the Veiled stranger, and screamed "OFF WITH HER HEAD! BRING ME THAT CROWN!!!"

Soldiers at either side of the stranger leapt forward, not bothering to try to arrest her, but simply stabbing their spears forward. And yet, it was like they faded into slow motion, their movements starting normal, but as they lunged forward, they became slower, and slower, until they completely froze in place. And quite literally so, as they became encased in ice from head to toe!

The Veiled stranger began walking forward, each step an echoing click, and each step another duo of guards from either side lunged for the attack, only to freeze in place without so much as a hand being lifted. As she drew closer and closer, the Queen's fury started to turn to fear. She had not dealt with a situation like this! She was the power in this world, her soldiers were the danger, not anyone else. She had never so much as learned what it felt like to be threatened. She backed away, barely managing to keep her footing as she found the steps that lead up to her throne, only to stumble over the last one, and land squarely in the seat.

All the anger was gone, as both lines of soldiers were completely frozen in place, mid leap to defend their Queen. She shrank into her throne as much as she could, shaking with fear, as the Veiled stranger came up the steps, painfully slow, one step at a time. And when she reached the top, she stood there, one hand on top of the other in front of her. There was a slick cracking sound as ice formed in the air, what looked like eight large spikes.

The Queen of Heart's trembling words were barely a whisper, as she said "B... but... I... I am... the Queen..." before the spikes shot out like a barrage, stabbing through the throne straight to the other side, and into the stone floor, leaving the entire thing impaled with ice. And for the Queen, the gruesome sight that only the Veiled stranger would behold for but a moment, there was a flash of light, and her body shimmered into crystal, before shattering. In that moment, there was a blast that radiated from the Queen, and everything it touched seemed to dim. From the roses in the gardens to the trees in the distance, they wilted and darkened. And from where she once cowered, floated a heart, glowing with an odd light.

The stranger reached out, and the heart floated in their hand, only for their other hand to come up, and seem to grab at an invisible string, pulling the light from the heart until it formed into an orb, leaving the heart looking shriveled and pitiful. A heart, blackened by hatred and selfishness. Wordlessly, they tossed the heart from the throne into the court it overlooked, and a pool of darkness grew on the floor, only for some sort of gaping maw to lash out, and snap shut around the heart. What rose from the darkness was a massive beast, empowered by the Heart of a Queen, however shriveled and pitiful it was.

Turning away without any further care, the stranger stepped into a Corridor, which snapped shut, leaving only the carnage behind.

-

Far too late, another Corridor opened, and Maleficent stepped through standing atop the Queen's Court, staring down to see dozens of Card Soldiers fighting a massive Heartless. And it didn't take her long to sense the traces of darkness, drawing her eyes to the frozen Soldiers, leading her right to the throne, impaled in ice. Her eyes were wide for but a moment, as she realized she had missed much. And when she felt someone step out of the Corridor behind her, she knew she had failed in her charge...

"You were supposed to earn the Queen's loyalty, or claim her heart, if necessary. Now it would seem, that is no longer possible." The voice of an old man croaked at her, making her grit her teeth in anger.

"A momentary distraction, and yet for this to happen. You cannot fault me for this, there was no possible way to plan for such a thing." Her brow twitched in an unusual show of annoyance, as her plans for this world had crumbled in an instant, and she hadn't even been able to arrive in time to stop it.

"This Veiled Queen, you spoke of her before. You saw her in another world too. Do what you must to investigate. Find out anything you can about them. There are no secrets in all the worlds that we cannot uncover, this temporary setback will be no different." And before Maleficent even had a chance to respond, or so much as look back to see the old man, they were gone.

So be it... she would investigate this, Veiled Queen. And there was only one she knew of to ask about them. Though it wouldn't be pleasant.

-

Merlin had been watching the battle between the Keyblade Wielders and this monstrous Heartless with great interest though a magical mirror that let him see the whole thing. He barely even noticed the darkness behind him, as Maleficent stepped through. It was the Fairy Godmother's gasp, and a loud "MALEFICENT!" that had him spin around, wand at the ready.

"Calm down you imbecile, I am not here to fight with you. Though we may be opposed to each other, I have information you would no doubt want to hear."

Merlin was, to say the least, incredible skeptical, but he lowered his wand, and looked to the Fairy Godmother, giving her a nod. "You say this while our town is under attack by Heartless? What are you scheming?"

With a scoff, she looked over at the battle going on through the mirror, simply brushing it off. "This time, I am not involved in this quarrel. Not directly anyway. Now be silent and listen to me. The Queen of Hearts is dead. She was murdered on her throne by one who wields powerful magic. All that was left at the site of the attack was frozen soldiers, and impaling spikes of ice. I will admit, I had my own plans for the Queen, potentially even killing her if I had to. And yet my plans did not even get that far before they were foiled by this, unexpected event."

Merlin listened intently, and his eyes went wide. "Queen of Hearts... dead? Why we never saw eye to eye, she was quick to anger, self centered, anything but what a Queen should be. But dead..." He stroked his beard, thinking "I can think of no reason why someone would want to do such a thing. It doesn't sound like they had any intention of taking over her Kingdom. Unless..." He looked pale in the face, before he said "Thank you for this information, but as an agent of darkness, I must still ask you to leave." He tried being courteous, though his face suggested he was ready for a fight.

"I will take my leave, but even as enemies, I ask that you take my kindness into consideration. I have given you valuable information. I ask that should you discover anything of this, Veiled Queen... that you share it with me. She could very well be a common enemy, and I would not be opposed to setting aside our differences to see an end to one who undoes my plans. I will even offer you some more information as a show of Good Will." She waved her fingers at the mirror, and said "The children there, I believe they are missing a member of their group yes? He was in Wonderland, before the Queen's demise. He has found his way to another world... and is striving to find his way to Olympus." She turned, and with a snarky little "I do suggest they get to him before the darkness does." Before she stepped through, and left Merlin alone again.

With a sigh of relief that she was gone, Merlin took off his hat, and run a hand over his head. "The bad news just keeps coming. What in the worlds is going on these days." Looking back to the mirror, he said to the Fairy Godmother "Keep an eye on them will you? I'm going to reset the wards. It's bad enough to have strangers waltzing into my home, let alone darkness wielding witches!"

It's Opposite Day

The Guard Armor's confidence in its assured victory dwindled bit by bit as more fighters arrived before it completely plummeted. The experienced keyblade wielder was already a problem before he decided he was going to let others have the shine. That would have been fine if one of the fighters the baton was passed to had a blade that was even more deadly than the key. The Armor blocked the throwing stars, but that set him up perfectly for Leon's slash across his torso. He attempted to feign dead but before he could get the chance the strangest characters came charging in with a trident and a too big bazooka held by a large bird and is that a child? What kind of parent would allow such a small child to wield such a thing? Almost regaining memories of a past life the Guard Armor was reignited with a sudden, yet still hidden fury.

The child was as annoying as it was fast. It kept firing shots off in places that didn't have any solid matter, but the armor didn't appreciate that one of the targets was directly beneath him and inside his hallowed armor. Tired of the speedy pest he slammed his fist down to crush the child, but it still evaded him and fired off more plasma into its arm. Now was its chance. The Guard Armor collapsed to the ground seemingly defeated from the repeated onslaught of attacks. Smoke and dust filled the area as it slammed into the hard cobblestoned streets. It'd remain silent and still like this for about thirty seconds before a clicking noise could be heard and the Guard Armor started to shake to life. It lifted itself up before slamming down into the ground with both of its gauntlet arms before flipping its torso over to hover above them. The Guard Armor kept its legs hovering in the air where its arms used to be showing that these were its new arms. Even its head and helmet changed causing it to turn upside down and open the helmet to reveal the angry look of the OPPOSITE ARMOR. In this new state gravity no longer had control over it. It floated in the air above them before charging with its leg-arms to ram the entire group.

Taivas

Taivas and his friends started walking down the musky and dark corridors of the catacombs. Adian was at the front holding the torch in one hand and his weapon in the other. Xera was in the middle, and Taivas was at the rear. Taivas thought they would soon run into a patrol. Or at the very least, some heartless. Further moving down the hallways, the group were inside a large room. One end of the wall had a door in the middle. Another wall had a set of stairs that led into another level of the catacombs. All around them were walls filled with the coffins of the dead. Adrian tried opening the door, but it wouldn't budge.

” Great, now what?” Taivas said, looking quite annoyed at their predicament. Adian said nothing but started thinking of how they could get through the door. An idea occurred to him, and he handed the torch to Taivas. With a quick swing of his weapon, the door was smashed open, allowing them to pass through. Xera looked at Taivas, who was a little confused by Adian’s unorthodox solution. But he couldn’t critique him since it solved their little door problem.

The group carefully moved through the door and walked up a flight of stairs. The stairs led to what appeared to be a dungeon. “This must be where Maleficent tortures any poor soul that crosses her.” Xera shuddered at the thought of what kind of things she would do down here. For the time being, they could not ponder long what sinister things Maleficent does here. They had bigger things to deal with. The group moved down the hallways when Adian stopped and motioned for them to stop.

Someone is coming.” Adian guided the group into the nearby cell. Xera put out the torch as they were crowded together. A pair of heartless in suits of armour and armed with long spears. Taivas thought they could easily take out these two. It would probably be better than waiting for them to pass. After the heartless guards left, they walked out of the cell and started making their way down the hallway. Adian was given the torch back and once again lit it. There was a chance there could be more guards patrolling the dungeons. But this was a risk Taivas was willing to take. If they were quick enough, they could make any encounter with a guard without raising any alarms.

The group of friends moved down the hallway with Adian stopping and pointing to something of interest. “Hold up guys. I heard Maleficent was holding some fairies down here. I wonder if they left anything we could use.” He started making his way inside an empty cell. Taivas and Xera followed him inside. Taivas noticed it was empty except for a pair of discarded weapons on the floor.

Looks like a shield and sword. I wonder if they created this to use it against Maleficent. If you take it, then you’ll probably have a better chance beating her.” Adian said, standing over the discarded weapons.

He wanted to interject to mention that he could just use his keyblade. However, he trusted his friends and assumed they knew this weapon could be pretty valuable. Joining Adian, he picked up the sword and shield. Feeling a sudden urge that filled his body and mind. Like a switch being flipped he wanted to abandon his current goal and start helping Maleficent.

Zac had expected the new Keybearers to arrive, but when Leon, his friends, and a large duck accompanied by a smaller creature arrived, he found himself surprised. The others must be busy somewhere else, he thought, though he had no idea what would be more pressing than the giant Heartless in front of him. He felt a fresh wave of energy rush through his body as Aerith cast Cure on him. He didn't necessarily need it quite yet, but he appreciated the top off. Drawing his Keyblade from the ground, he watched as his allies each took a shot at the armor until it fell to the ground.

He almost started to celebrate when it suddenly rose once more, then seemed to undergo some kind of transformation. It's torso flipped upside down, it's arms and legs traded places, and the visor on its head/helmet opened up to reveal the signature glowing yellow eyes most Heartless have. "Interesting," he mused as the newly dubbed Opposite Armor charged toward the group with its leg/arm/pincer things. "Reflect!" Vincent yelled as he aimed his Keyblade at the Heartless. A wall of light appeared in front of the group just before the attack landed, the leg-arms bouncing harmlessly off the barrier. The barrier then exploded in a shower of light, forcing the Opposite Armor back while dealing damage.

While his attention was focused on the Hammerlegs, one of the gauntlets, closed into a fist, rushed toward Zac. The young Keybearer braced himself, lifted his Keyblade above his head, then brought it down with both hands on top of the gauntlet, which crashed into the ground hard enough to shatter the cobblestone underneath. While his skill with magic and his Keyblade were nothing to snuff at, his raw strength had always been his greatest asset on his journey. "Alright, let's get this done, guys!" he called out to his allies. "We're not losing this world, not on our watch!"

As the Guard Armour finally seemed to give up the ghost and fall to pieces. Launchpad wiped his brow. "Well, another job well done." He turned around to look at the others who had arrived. He looked at Zac as he ran over to Aerith, he quickly approached the guy from behind, pulling out his crude drawing from earlier and held it next to Zac's face as he looked it over, comparing him to the 4 images. "Yup, you're definitely Zac" He smiled, Leon walking over to them.

"You're another one with a Keyblade." The Lilty huffed.

"Yeah, we're friends of your best buddy Hoshi, i'm Launchpad and this is Leon." He stated, as he did so, the Guard Armour behind him would start to reform, Launchpad remaining completely oblivious to this. Leon tugged on his leg to get his attention. "Yeah yeah yeah, gimme a second, anyway, we're here to assist any and all-" Leon jumped up onto his shoulder and twisted him around so that he could see the Opposite Armour take form. "Hey, i was... Oh..." He let the wind go out of his sails. As the armour charged, Launchpad grabbed Leon and the Thunderquack materialized around them.

"Not agaIIIIIIIIIIN!!!!" Leon cried as they rocketted into the sky, before coming crashing down, the Thunderquack exploding into the back of the Opposite Armour's head, the pair getting thrown free and landing in a heap. Leon, having had this happen to him 3 times today had learned to tuck and roll, before placing 3 backup shots into the same spot with his laser blaster.

Attack of the Shadow Armor

Levi couldn’t help but to cheer as Lucian and Morgan, alongside another four he didn’t recognize, rushed into the plaza. He had been hoping they’d made their way here, but having confirmation that they were alive, much less well enough to be fighting was something he found worth celebrating, even if now wasn’t the moment for it. He almost absentmindedly threw his keyblade at a particularly uppity shadow who thought now was a good time to rush him, smiling as the keyblade flew right back to his hand. “Am I glad to see you!” He called to both groups, before redirecting his focus towards keeping the heartless back.

Lucian grinned at the sound of Levi’s voice. “You too!” he called back, slicing through another Heartless that lunged his way. “A lot has happened. Nice throw, by the way!”

As the group assembled the shadows surrounding them inched closer. Before the battle could continue, pillars of stone erupted from the cobblestone floors in front of each of the exits, keeping them trapped inside with the enemy Heartless.

Max was visibly confused. He didn't know the Heartless had this kind of ability. Even if they wanted to run they couldn't. He turned to Morgan and then his dad. He had to protect them. He pulled his skateboard off his back and threw it to the floor. He jumped on the front of the board, held out his lance, and kickstarted.

“Maxie!” Goofy yelled before hopping on the back of Max's skateboard and holding onto his collar. “I got you, Maxie!” This almost caused them to fall, but Max regained his balance and kept pushing.

“Dad, what are you doing?” Max asked, almost irritated.

“Protecting my son. Just go, I got your back.” Goofy said with a focused look before doing a small one hundred and eighty degree turn to block any Heartless that might come their way.

Max nodded and continued to skate, skewering the shadows in their way while Goofy knocked aside Soldiers that tried to chase them.

Daisy walked over to Donald. “Thinking what I'm thinking, honey?”

“You betcha.” He said while lifting his staff, summoning a dark cloud above them. “Thundaga!” Donald yelled as streaks of lightning fell from the cloud to strike down the Heartless immediately surrounding them.

Daisy aimed her staff the way she and the others came to the horde that chased them here. A blue light shone at the tip of her staff as she yelled, “Blizzara!” Ice erupted from her staff killing some of the shadows, but temporarily freezing the others to give the group a bit of a reprieve.

Lucian gritted his teeth as the entire group was trapped inside stone pillars with a bunch of Heartless. “Great. They’re trapping us now?” He muttered, looking around for a path—but there was none. They were surrounded.

Lucian’s eyes widened when Goofy and Max, followed afterwards by Daisy and Donald sprung into action. “Ok, that was cool!” Lucian breathed, watching them clear a path through the crowd.

Lucian raised his Keyblade, calling on the magic he’d barely begun to understand. “Let’s push them back while we have the opening! Blizzard!” He shot out ice nowhere near as powerful as what Daisy was doing. But it hit a group of Heartless, and that was good enough. He looked at the others. “They’re not giving us a way out, so I guess we have to make one!”

Morgan tapped her staff on the ground. "We don't need a way out. Better they focus on us than people trying to get to safety. Even better if we can send every last one of these monsters back to where they came from. Back on the island, our goal was to run away, to escape, and that's what we did. But now we all have what we need to never run away again. So let them surround us with their darkness. It will give us a chance to see just how brightly our light can shine."

She didn't quite understand what had gotten into her, she wasn't talking like she used to, she didn't feel so helpless and lost, not with what she now knew about herself. And though her memories were still a haze, she felt a sense of duty to the title she held. Somehow, she pulled the words from her heart, as if for just a moment, she remembered who she was, and where she came from.

Holding up her staff, she spoke to everyone present. "As Princess of Camelot..." Whatever that truly meant... "...I make this declaration here and now, that no amount of darkness will find victory, so long as those who stand against it hold Light in their hearts." And with that said, she brought her staff down, hitting it on the ground and causing a blast of light to echo out in a ring that radiated all around, reaching the edges of the Heartless swarm. All her allies present would feel rejuvenated, as she cast Medica. It wasn't the most powerful healing spell imaginable, but anyone who was suffering from fatigue either due to having already been fighting, or those who hadn't gotten a chance to properly rest since the Island, everybody would feel themselves given a second wind of strength to start this fight anew, as a team.

Truth be told, other than casting elemental spells of questionable strength, this was the best she could do, was to keep everyone alive.

Had she been more honest, Hoshi would have confessed to being spent on combat. Even the presence of allies on all sides couldn’t overcome that she was sleep-deprived and sore; if anything, rejoining Lucian and Levi had eased her closer to wanting the proper rest she needed. But with Heartless all over, and their exits from the plaza sanctioned off, running and hiding was out of the question.

As her friends splintered off, she managed to pull some Shadows in her directions. Even without any magic assisting her she was quick and nimble; evasion into 1-on-1 tactics prevailed, and she slew all but one before Morgan’s voice called out.

Hoshi’s body was released of tension as the wave of healing passed warmly through her. She might have still been tired. But for now she didn’t feel it. She smirked at the Shadow in front of her, dug her left foot against the stone and sprung forward, swinging a backhanded Keyblade through the Heartless. Her foot work had placed her near Morgan. “Thanks for the pick-me-up.” She held a defensive stance to keep Morgan guarded while she worked from a distance.

As the magic washed over him, Levi smirked and gently cracked his neck as the heartless resumed their advance. “Come on, then! You want me? I’m right here!” He shouted, striking his bat and keyblade together with a clang and a spray of sparks as he made a grinding advance into the thinning swarm. True Light’s Flight cut through heartless after heartless, as he did his best to pull them in, to draw their attention onto him. The more heartless paying attention to and swarming around him, the less pressure it’d be for the others. Besides, if they were all in one place, the others would barely have to aim. “Aero!” He exclaimed with a flick of his keyblade, using it to pull in a couple of shadows who’d started to wander out of the little herd he was forming, and a pair of downward swings from his bat introduced them to the concrete.

Almost, almost. Levi kept up his pressure, until finally he’d made the window. “Got ‘em all set up! Knock ‘em down!” He called out to the others, as he leapt straight up, and with another “Aero!” he instead used it to push himself away from the swarm, leaving a large clump of heartless, prime for the taking.

Goofy was rather impressed with this group of kids. Upon watching them you'd think they were training for this moment their entire lives. He admired their steeled determination to defeat these Heartless, whether to save their own lives or the lives of this town mattered not. They were the light pushing back against the darkness and he'd be honored to support them.

“Thank youuu!” Goofy yelped as he jumped off the back of Max's skateboard landing in the center of the swarm.

Max turned around in surprise and concern when he felt his dad abandon his board. “Dad!” He yelled as he planted his foot in the ground to stop his momentum.

Goofy held his shield firmly as the swarm started to enclose him. He extended the arm that held his shield and started to spin so fast that his body started to blur and wind picked up around him. As he spun the shield connected with each of the heartless, causing them to disappear one by one. Once he no longer felt his shield connecting with anything Goofy brought himself to an abrupt stop which left him dizzy with stars circling his head as he wobbled around to gather himself.

He unfortunately didn't have long to rest because the heartless were only a warm up to the big show. Large pieces of an armored body fell from the sky, except there was no body in this armor. It didn't have arms or legs, just an armored torso, feet, hands, and head. The pieces didn't even connect. They floated around and seemingly had their own minds. To prove this point the disconnected left foot stepped out, pulled back, and punted Goofy into the nearby fountain.

“Dad!” Max yelled before skating over to check on his father.

Morgan watched as the giant suit of armor dropped down, unlike any armor she had ever seen... and she knew it was going to be a lot different than the other Heartless. Not just from the way a large number of them backed away, creating an arena for this new arrival to fight in, but in the energy it had radiating from it.

"This one is different, I'm guessing it's their leader, if Heartless can have such a thing. I'm sure I have something for this..." She had to think for a moment, before closing her eyes. After a few moments of silence, she opened one eye, and a few magical rings appeared in front of it, as she used a spell to scan the armor. Whether due to the fact she didn't fully know how to utilize this spell, or due to the very thing the spell told her, she was barely able to get much information. But what she was able to gather...
"That's not just one big Heartless, it's a group of them acting as one. Each part of it, the legs, the arms, the body, are all their own individual Heartless. And... the body is extremely magic resistant." That didn't give her much of a plan, knowing only those two things about it... but she came up with something anyway, assuming the others would listen.

"Destroy its limbs, break it down to just its core so that we only have one foe to deal with, and then its magical defense will not matter against every weapon we can bring to bare against it." Holding up her staff, she said "I will not allow it to harm you... or at least, I will ensure anything it does is temporary."

Hoshi held close to Morgan’s side as she surveyed the new foe. How she had gleaned insight on it so quickly was, frankly, beyond Hoshi’s grasp, other than more magic. A brief observation proved her assessment demonstrably accurate. The suit of armour’s arms, legs, and torso all seemed to move in their own ways, the limbs drifting away from its body in a way that dogs might run their leash; separate, yet connected.

“Even if it’s multiple Heartless, we have an advantage in numbers!” Hoshi pointed out. “I say we press that edge. Let’s get the pieces isolated from each other and team up on them!” She held for a second longer and then, deciding Morgan could fend for herself (and that she, Hoshi, was worth more in the fray of battle), rushed in directing a blow towards one of the arms. If it worked out as Hoshi planned, the arms would target her.

Resting the flat of his keyblade on his shoulder for a moment, Levi looked it over, his eyes darting from one piece to the next, noting the slight differences as he did. His view of their status wasn’t nearly as clear as Morgan’s, but the ability to see how much each appendage would take still tipped him off that the head and torso were, in some way, connected. Watching Hoshi rush for it’s gauntlets, he decided that wasn’t a bad idea, and ran along the side of the plaza, before throwing his keyblade at the sabatons. “C’mon, scrap heap! Come and get me!” He taunted, as he continued his wide berth, and caught his keyblade as it spun back towards himself.

As Hoshi drew the arms’ attention and Levi targeted the legs, Lucian angled himself toward the floating helmet. If it was truly acting as its own unit, they needed to strike it from multiple sides, forcing it to split its focus.

“Let’s see how you like this!” he shouted, leaping upward. His Keyblade gleamed as he focused his magic, “Blizzard!”, and slammed his weapon down with an ice infused strike aimed at the helmet. “We’ll break it down one part at a time!” He exclaimed as he descended upon the armor.

Their quick thinking and coordination was impressive and admirable. Their connection and time together on the island was evident in the way they acted in cohesion without hesitation. They still didn't come close to the togetherness of the Guard Armor. While separate entities they come and work together as one.

As the keyblade trio leaped into action the Guard Armor was ready for them. It spun its gauntlets around, seemingly copying Goofy's Tornado Spin from earlier, picking up wind as it did so, but it didn't stop there. On top of spinning around the gauntlets swung up and down like a twisted windmill to protect its feet and head from the incoming attacks.

Levi's keyblade rebounded off one of the gauntlets and returned back to sender while Hoshi and Lucian were sent flying back in retaliation.

Donald then responded before anyone could act or get back on their feet. He aimed his mage's staff at the chaotic armored heartless in front of them and yelled, “Stop!” He seemed to be surrounded by a see-through emerald gem with Roman Numerals encircling the center before it and the numbers disappeared. As soon as they did, the Guard Armor's assembled parts were stopped in their tracks. “Won't hold long!” He said through a strained beak. He was keeping the heartless frozen in time so the others could attack, but since he was targeting multiple big Heartless he wasn't able to hold it as long as he could.

Goofy nodded and launched his shield at the floating helmet. The helmet didn't move, but damage was done. When his shield rebounded to him he turned to see if Maxie had noticed how cool he was. Instead he saw his son charging towards the Guard Armor's torso ready to impale it with his lance.

Max's hit connected but he wasn't sure if it did anything, but he decided not to stay in the line of fire and ran over to guard Morgan just in case the Guard Armor responded to this onslaught with unrighteous fury.

Morgan all the while wished she could do more, but barely knowing how to control her magic, there was little she could do against something that itself was resistant to magic. Sure, Donald’s spell was holding, at least for the moment, but the Heartless was readying itself to break free, and things would only get worse from there.

Supposedly, she came from a Kingdom of Knights, so one would imagine she would have some idea as to their weakness. But with her memory loss, she had no idea what that might be. She thought it would be magic, but that was the exact opposite for this thing. And so, she raised her staff, and said “Hold it just a bit longer…” and, figuring the same thought Max had, that the Heartless wouldn’t be happy when it broke free from the spell holding it in place, she thought to prepare for that.

She closed her eyes, and tried to think, tried to find the information locked away in her head, to find a spell to help. She was sure there was one, it was magic, there had to be magic for every situation right? Surely that was the key to being a successful mage, knowing what spell to use at what time…

There was no telling how, but she managed to pull a spell from memory without even seeming to actually remember it. She spoke the spell aloud, with a sudden “Asylum!” and a large dome of light appeared covering everyone present. Everyone would feel their energy returning ever so slightly, but the main effect of the spell was everybody within the dome had a barrier of light around them. It wouldn’t fully protect them, but if anyone was struck, it would lessen the blow at the very least.

And then, she figured she may as well do something other than protecting everyone, and so she cast another spell from muscle memory. True, the Guard Armor was resistant to magic… but it was hard to be resistant to the spell she was casting now, which hurled a large boulder right at the thing’s center mass. The spell was rightly named, simply, Stone.

Levi caught his keyblade as it spun back to him, though his eyes widened slightly as Lucian and Hoshi flew back, then returned to the now-frozen guard armor with a look of rage. He charged the thing, taking out his frustrations on one of the gauntlets, while steering clear of the main torso. Mainly because that's where the others had been directing their attention.

Lucian groaned as he pushed himself up off the cobblestones, wincing slightly from the hit. Then he watched as Donald cast a spell to stop the armor in time. That was impressive. Maybe one day he could do something nearly as impressive. For now, Lucian ran forward to strike at its helmet.

Hoshi’s Keyblade barely connected with the Guard Armor; she might have grazed it with her strike, but the Gauntlets had gotten in the better shot. She was struck back and flung a distance back, nearly knocking her back against the plaza wall in the process. “Well all the good that idea worked,” she spat out loudly. She righted herself back up, and tried to devise a different approach when the duck wizard cast his spell over the suit of armor. Encased in the green light, the enemy was held firm as though frozen in time, a set of numbers steadily disappearing like a countdown.

Hoshi kicked off from the wall, drawing her Keyblade once more. As the rejuvenating wave from Morgan filled her, she found an extra burst of speed with which to close in on the armor. She slashed and hacked away at the foe’s legs in a short series of quick moves before retreating her ground as the timer on the wizard’s spell reached its end.

The Guard Armor broke free from its time prison, shattering the spell in frustration and anger. But this burst of fury was nothing but a puff of smoke as the legs of the giant knight buckled before dispersing into hearts that scattered, trying to return home. But that wasn't it. The combined attacks to the helmet knocked it from its place. It clattered to the ground behind the armor.

It tried to struggle back aloft its mighty throne, but before it could muster the strength Max was already zipping to it with his skateboard, realizing it wasn't completely finished. He impaled the helmet with his lance, thinking it'd be enough to finish the monstrosity as a whole but he was sorely mistaken. The helmet dissipated just like the feet, but he was smacked aside in retaliation by the one remaining gauntlet.

The Armor proved just how autonomous each of its parts were. It didn't need a head or feet or both arms to fight. It wasn't over until it was over.

“Maxie!” Goofy yelled as he ran towards his son and dodged a swinging fist in the process.

Donald lifted his staff and cast “Cure!” on his nephew and turned to the armor with a look of rage.

Daisy, feeling responsible for her nephew, stepped forward to aim her staff at the gauntlet that dared to smack him, casting, “Blizzard!” on it, freezing the gauntlet in place for the young keyblade wielders to finish it off. Despite her anger she remembered that this was still training for them.

Feeling rather vindicated now that at least one of the gauntlets had bitten the dust, Levi took a moment to reassess as he looked over the last two remaining pieces. The others had done good work in taking out the thing’s head and heels, he looked over the state of the last two pieces, and assuming the last gauntlet would be a greater threat than the torso, he opted to deal with that.

Taking advantage of the opportunity provided, and trusting his friends to finish the torso off, Levi sprinted towards the last remaining hand, hoping to finish it before it thawed out. After a couple of steps, both of his feet planted on the concrete on instinct, as he kept moving forward, even speeding up to his surprise and silver light trailed along the ground behind his feet. As he closed, he swung downwards onto the thing, with his keyblade and bat together, driving with all the force he could muster as something flashed into his mind, just as it had with the Strike Raid. Sliding Dash.

All the while Morgan kept up a steady release of healing, hoping to keep everyone from harm entirely if she could, though that wasn’t entirely working. What she didn’t realize was she was exhausting herself, as she had absolutely no idea what ‘mana’ was or what kinds of limits her body had for casting magic. And so she kept casting, trying to help anyone she could, and launching boulders at the last remaining piece of the enemy, eventually sliding down onto one knee, panting as she felt like she had just run a marathon, and her head started to sting.

Lucian saw Morgan drop to a knee from the corner of his eye, and that did it. He wasn’t going to let anyone else get hurt. Not his friends, not the people who had come to protect him, and definitely not the girl who just shielded all of them with her magic until she was ready to collapse.

Lucian took a breath. He only knew one spell, and he didn’t know any fancy techniques with names. But he knew what he had to do. With a shout, he charged, Lucian leapt high, Keyblade overhead, and brought it crashing down on the torso with everything he had.

The combined effort of Daisy, Levi, Morgan, and Lucian delivered the final blow to the Guard Armor. The torso and final gauntlet followed the other pieces in defeat, returning the lost hearts. They were able to save themselves and the poor, unfortunate souls lost to the darkness.

Max woke up groggily to see his father checking on him. Despite feeling the hit earlier he now felt completely fine as if someone had healed whatever injury he had. “Did anyone else hear a bell ringing, or was it just me? And is Lady Morgan okay?”

Goofy was excited to see that Max was okay and gave him a tight squeeze of a hug. When he saw Max’s face turning red he let him go. He nodded to confirm his question. “You got knocked in the noggin, but not that hard. We heard it too. And she’s okay, just used up too much mana.”

While Max was getting up on his feet, Daisy ran over to Morgan to help her up. She pulled out a blue cube from one of her pockets and squeezed it over the mage princess’s head, sprinkling her with the energy from within it. Morgan would instantly feel her energy and mana restore as if she wasn’t just on the brink of collapse. “I’m going to have to teach you how not to overexert yourself, sweetie.”

Alias walked through the dark portal to find himself in the Baggage Car of a train. He immediately shivered as he was exposed to the freezing winter air coursing through the car. "Wow. It's unreasonably cold here and this sleeveless shirt is going to kill me." He looked around to see that he was alone and decided to rummage through some luggage until he could find a nice coat to wear. He found one in the first bag that he checked and put it on. He approached the window leading to the engine to see how he looked and saw what looked like glowing green bats entering the engine. "I don't know why Mal sent me here, but I need to get off this train."

He turned to exit the other way, but stopped in his tracks when a group of people came in. They looked like they were trying to hide from someone or something. There was a big stoutly man that reminded him a bit of his dad back on Destiny Islands, the cutest little puppy he's ever seen, a smaller brown haired man, and a red-haired woman. They didn't seem to notice him yet, but he listened in on their conversation. Your grace? Commoners? Was she the Princess Anastasia? Now the green creatures were starting to make sense. They were after her.

They were too distracted to notice him, but the adorable puppy ran over to him. Alias knelt down to pet the little scamp and massage the back of his right ear. "Good boy. Such a good boy." Alias almost forgot the danger they were in until the puppy started barking at something behind him. He turned around and noticed the strange green glow again. He picked up the puppy and walked over to the dysfunctional trio. Before he could reach them there was an explosion that blew off the door leading to the rest of the train and separated the engine and baggage car from the remainder of the train. The trio fell back from the explosion, causing the bickering couple to fall over each other.

"What was that?" The Maestro asked.

"I don't know, but there goes the dining car."

"Get off of me." Anastasia groaned.

The stoutly man turned around to finally see Alias. "Uh, Dimitri. We have company."

Alias stood there awkwardly before waving with the puppy's paw. "Hi, I'm Alias. But I'm not the only company we have. Glowing green bats have been sabotaging the train."

Anastasia finally got from under Dimitri and stood up. "Why is a crazy person holding my Pooka?"

"Oh, so that's this little guy's name. And I'm not crazy. Pooka's seen them too. They're the reason the engine's running too hot and probably why the train hasn't stopped yet."

"Wait. You mean, no one's driving the train!?" Dimitri asked, running towards the door to look through the window to see how much fire and smoke was emitting from the engine. "They must've jumped. We should do the same."

They all ran to the side door to open it and see when and where they'd be able to jump. They all looked to see that they were above a very large drop and all said, "Nope." in unison.

Dimitri came up with another plan of escape. "Fine. Then we'll uncouple the car."

Alias followed Dimitri to the coupling links and saw that they were frozen over. Okay, it was cold, but they were not frozen like that before. It must have been the bats again.

"Come on! I need a wrench, an ax -- anything!" Dimitri yelled as he held on for dear life as the stoutly man looked for something he could use.

"Wait. I have something. Just get inside!" Alias answered before handing Pooka back over to Anastasia. "Fire beats ice, right?" He asked himself rhetorically before conjuring his keyblade.

They all turned to him in surprise and bewilderment and asked in unison, "What is that!?"

"It's a keyblade and it's going to get us out of this jam." Alias answered as he walked back towards the coupling links. He aimed his keyblade at the frozen links and shouted, "FIRE!" Green flames emitted from the tip of the keyblade shooting directly at the links, melting the ice and the links themselves, detaching the baggage car from the engine.

"I gotta get me one of those," Dimitri mused to himself. "Vlad, hit the brakes!"

"They're out!" Vlad yelled as he tried to turn the wheel.

Dimitri tried to help him, but the two of them ended up pulling off the wheel. "Don't worry. We've got plenty of track. We'll just coast to a stop."

As soon as he said that a force of an explosion knocked them down. When they got up they saw that the bridge was destroyed and gasped aloud. "You were saying?" Anastasia asked sarcastically.

"I swear if I get my hands on those green bats..."

"We'll have to survive this train first."

"I got an idea," Dimitri exclaimed as he ran over to some chains. "Vlad, give me a hand with this." Before Vlad could help he fell into a crate so Alias and Anastasia ran over to help him instead. Anastasia handed Dimitri the chain as he hung outside the train. "Not you!"

"Vlad's busy at the moment." Anastasia replied. Dimitri sighed and tied the chain to the bottom of the train car and was one second away from getting hit by debris before Anastasia pulled him out of harm's way. They turned and noticed the debris hitting a nearby tree and the branches falling down into the tracks below. "And to think that could've been you."

Dimitri dusted himself off and said, "If we live through this, remind me to thank you."

They were going to haul the chain over with a hook, but Alias had a better idea. He cut the hook off the chain with his keyblade and attached the chain to the bottom before launching it forward. The teeth of the keyblade cut through the snow and dug into the ground allowing it to help the baggage car come to a stop faster without pulling the keyblade out of the ground. The force of the pull caused the car to tip and turn over, but they were all fine inside. The trio grabbed their luggage while Alias grabbed Pooka and when it was safe to jump, they did.

The engine and baggage car plummeted from the bridge tracks and exploded on impact with the ground below. Meanwhile up above, the trio turned quartet recovered nicely though Dimitri immediately began to berate trains and said to remind him never to get on the train again. Alias didn't blame him though. That was his first experience on a train and he wholeheartedly agreed.

Anastasia turned to Alias, "I can't believe you risked that magical key sword for us. Thank you."

"Oh, I didn't risk anything." Alias said, conjuring the keyblade in his hand once more. "I don't think I could get rid of it even if I wanted to."

"That's convenient," Dimitri added. "Stick with us, kid. I feel like we're going to need you on our way to Paris."

"What's in Paris?"

"We're taking the Princess Anastasia to her grandmother, the Dowager Empress."

"So you really are the Princess I'm looking for. Allow me to re-introduce myself. I'm Alias, Prince of Radiant Garden. I was sent here to protect you from the forces of darkness who want your heart."

At first Dimitri was worried that this kid might try to steal their money, but now he was annoyed by the fact that he was having to deal with actual royalty. "Great. Another royal."

"Forget that. What's this about my heart?"

Rasputin was watching everything unfold in Limbo and he was not happy to say the least. The rotting magician was choking himself in frustration.

His talking bat, suggested that he should take it easy and that stress was a killer.

"You should listen to your friend there, Rasputin." Maleficent said as she exited a Corridor of Darkness. "You're already falling apart."

"Maleficent! What are you doing here?"

"I'm here to give a friend a helping hand. It seems that you need one."

"As if I need your help. My dark minions can stop Anastasia and this Alias boy."

"Your minions as they are no match for a keyblade wielder, let alone this one. They're more likely to serve him than remain loyal to you. If you accept my help I can also help you restore your body."

This caught Rasputin's attention. "Go on."

Maleficent waltzed over to the reliquary and held it in her hand infusing it with her dark magic and the darkness of the Heartless, transforming the demonic entities that resided inside.

Bartok started to back away in fear of the evil these two were creating together. "I have a bad feeling about this."

Battle vs. Opposite Armor

The tandem impact of Zac’s defensive spell and Launchpad’s Jumping assault had dealt the Opposite Armor a tangible blow. Thankfully, for it, it had evaded the follow up from Leon, their brief moment airborne having given it just enough time to collect itself, and move its vital spot out of harm’s way.

While the trio of Leon, Aerith, and Yuffie were protected behind Zac’s Reflect, they silently agreed on a plan of action. Determining that the Heartless would have resilience against the brand of magic they could throw at it, they opted against continuing on with that approach. Aerith cast a set of spells to enable [her] Leon, each devised to improve his combat prowess; his strength was amped by magic; an invisible force would reduce the impact of the Guard Armor’s attacks; lastly, a boost to his speed was cast upon him. Meanwhile, Yuffie had sprinted out from behind the Reflect barrier before it had even dispersed into shards. Her role in this battle wouldn’t change, leaving her to chip at the foe from afar and keep it annoyed enough to not focus properly,

Watching the Heartless take a series of attacks from the two odd characters she had met earlier, Yuffie squared her throwing star up to its target. As soon as it had righted itself, she began pelting it with her throwing stars; they all flew truer than usual, the extra time she had had to mark the enemy proving invaluable. Just as before, the “Annoying Fly” maneuver proved its effectiveness: The Opposite Armor would shift away from Leon and Launchpad, and beset itself upon her, much to Launchpad’s chagrin. Leon landed next to his diminutive, similarly named counterpart as the magics flowed through him, preparing his strike. The two warriors silently looked at each other and realized what had to be done. The powers of magic seemed to surround the Lilty as he drew a second blaster. "TRIGGER HAPPY!" He called, before unleashing a hail of laserfire upon one of the arms. Leon (Enhanced by Aerith’s magic) seized the moment to land a strike against the armor's other arm, their combined attack more than the armor could take.

Yuffie didn’t cease her tactic; she continued the volley of stars as both Leons destroyed the arms of the Armor. “Alright!” she said, pumping her fist at Launchpad as she ran past, but looked back at him. “Good going you t--” Yuffie was cut off as one of the Armors legs came sweeping down on her.

"LITTLE LADY! LOOK OUT!" Launchpad yelled at the same time.

The attack succeeded in brushing her back, but she employed her ninja skills and recovered gracefully. “Whew!” She smirked towards Launchpad. “Cut a bit too close!” She jogged out a few steps in place and resumed circling the Heartless.

“Careful, Yuffie!” Leon could be heard shouting. As the second foot came crashing down, Launchpad grabbed the short Ninja Girl and hurled her to safety, the foot smashing into him, as he was unable to also dodge in time. As the foot raised to find its next victim, Launchpad was left pancaked into the floor,

"Ouch…" Launchpad calmly wheezed out, looking more like a puddle than a duck at this point. An arm raised from the flattened figure and pulled himself up, looking a little flat. Placing his thumb in his mouth, he blew hard, before quickly reinflating with a “POP” He raised the Trident "Big Mistake, pal, you just activated my SPECIAL ATTACK!!!" He yelled loudly and heroically. His Trident turned a crimson red as his eyes glowed. Jumping up at the leg, he drove the Trident into it. "LIFEBREAKER!" Channelling the damage he just took into his trident, he slammed the trident into the leg, energy pouring into it, scarlet energies running across the leg from the 3 prongs stuck in it, before violently exploding, sending Launchpad flying away and landing next to Yuffie again. He raised his arm in a thumbs up to indicate he was ok.

While the others began their assault on the Opposite Armor, Zac hung back, within range to jump to their spellcaster/healer’s aid if he needed to. He let out an appreciative whistle as his comrades made quick work of the Heartless’ limbs, rendering down to nothing more than a floating torso. He didn’t let his guard down, however. Experience told him that these monsters were dangerous up until they dissipated into Darkness.

Just as he had the thought, the Opposite Armor’s torso flipped around, the wider end taking aim at the group as its head came to rest on top of its chest. Energy began to gather at the end facing the group as it prepared a ranged attack. When it fired its projectile, Zac charged ahead and met the blast with the flat of his Keyblade. “This isn’t what I ordered. Gotta return to sender!” he quipped as he smacked the projectile back at the Opposite Armor like a baseball before following close behind it.

The Armor rattled and wobbled against the force of its own attack being racketed back into it. NOT EXPECTED! Even still, it didn’t cease its hovering about the plaza, now being sure to keep the Keybearer at a distance. It focused its offensive elsewhere, and an easy target presented itself in another string of throwing stars knocking off of its torso. ANNOYING! The torso spun around, taking aim at the young ninja. Another projectile cannonballed out from its torso.

“Bet you’re on the ropes n-- Aargh!” Yuffie had gotten over zealous and careless. In her moment’s lapse, the energy blast from the Opposite Armor slammed full-force into her. She was flung back and slid into a far corner of the plaza. As she flew, she smashed straight into Launchpad who had finally picked himself back up, knocking him out of his shoes and sending them both flying into the wall, Launchpad’s feathered form breaking Yuffie’s fall somewhat.

“YUFFIE!” The cry came from Aerith, who projected an uncommon rage. She raised her staff upward. A magnificent light flared out from its end. Both Leons and Zac would be both fully restored, and finding themselves, for the moment, literally invincible. “We’re not losing ANYONE else to the Heartless,” she said to Squall.

The Gunbladesman nodded sternly and took up arms beside Zac. “Let’s finish this one off. Here and now.” He looked across to Other Leon and Launchpad who had stumbled his way over in a dazed state, pulling his shoes back on. “You two! Give it everything you’ve got! No holding back!”

“AYE AYE COMMANDER NEBULSTEIN!!” Launchpad slurred out in his punchdrunk state, before raising his lance up and it began glowing with the red aura again, before rushing at it in a zigzagging path. Leon, on the other hand, pulled out the large Plasma Cannon and aimed it straight at the Opposite Armour, pulling the trigger and a ball of green plasma launched towards it.

Zac clenched his fist, feeling a surge of energy rush through his body. He nodded to Gunblade Leon and raised Stonecall with both hands toward the Heartless, parallel to the ground. “I’ll go high, you go low,” he told Leon as he cast his magic. A holographic image of a ticking clock appeared as he cast Haste on himself and Leon. Stone rose from the ground, encasing Zac’s Keyblade to add more weight to it while extending its reach by nearly double, and the shimmering shell of Reflect gathered around his weapon at the same time.

The young Keyblade wielder was the first to move, jumping into the air while Leon dashed forward, as if fired from a cannon, his glowing Gunblade in hand. The Opposite Armor, beset on all sides, was hard-pressed on which to focus on, slowing its reaction somewhat. By the time it would have decided which person to react to, it was too late. Launchpad and Lilty Leon’s attacks made contact on either side and the resulting explosion weakened the Heartless’s torso armor enough for Other Leon to easily cut through it, slicing it in two.

”You’re finished!” Zac yelled as he brought his Keyblade down on the Heartless’ head. The weight of the stone-encased blade drove the Opposite Armor’s head into the ground just as Reflect absorbed the force of the impact and sent it back, cratering the ground with the following release of energy. As the dust cleared, the remains of the Heartless, now nothing more than crumpled metal, began to fade as Zac let himself fall back on his rear, sitting in the crater. ”Finally,” he said with a relieved sigh. ”And to think…I was thinking about taking that thing on by myself!”

Squall let out a forced laugh at Zac’s comment. He breathed heavily; invulnerability didn’t come with infinite stamina, and his finishing slash on the Opposite Armor had taken a bit more out of him than he’d have liked.

Aerith, meanwhile, had rushed to Yuffie’s side and nursed her back to her usual spry and jovial self. The ninja made her way over behind Aerith with a skip in her step. “Good job team!” She exclaimed, giving everyone two thumbs up.

“I’m thankful we all made it through,” Aerith added.

“Right,” Leon said, no longer attempting his humored face. “We should get to the others.”

“Agreed,” Aerith said. “I sent one of them, Hoshi, through the Third District. We should head that way first.”

Leon shouldered his Gunblade, and started down the alley towards the Third District. Aerith and Yuffie followed close behind, waving for Zac, Leon, and Launchpad to join them. Together, the six of them would depart the Second District, and emerge into the Third to an astonishing, but welcome sight…

As the Guard Armor fell, Levi let out a sigh of relief as he scanned over the assembled group. Levi stared at the bipedal animals for a moment, he realized that he was likely less surprised that he should have been, but there was a talking dog earlier, so anything was possible he supposed. Eventually, he locked onto two of the three he’d been looking for; Hoshi and Morgan.

As Morgan was already being seen to, he opted against joining the group crowding her. Instead, he walked over to Hoshi, who’d seemed exhausted even before the fight got started, and had taken a hit from the Guard Armor. Morgan’s magic seemed to help with that, though. Something he figured he’d make a note of. It was better if he could keep track of who could do what, it’d help with strategizing down the line.

“You still in one piece?” He asked, reaching into his makeshift rucksack and offering Hoshi a potion. “You brother would kill me if you got hurt on my watch.” He commented with a smirk, before his expression dropped back into a serious one as he made note of their missing friend. “I take it you didn’t find Alias either.” He assumed, with a small part of him hoping that he was wrong. But knowing how readily Alias would throw himself into a fight, he figured if he was here, he would’ve arrived to help.

After a few moments, Levi allowed himself to really look at Hoshi, looking to see if she was more hurt or tired than she was making herself out to be, when he realized the obvious; the brand new black coat she was wearing. One she definitely hadn’t been the last time he’d seen her. “So, where’d the coat come from?” Levi asked her bluntly, gesturing over her with a finger.

In the moment of calm the group had, Levi let himself remember the bet he’d made, and lost, with Tsu. “... Here, before I forget.” Levi said, as he reached into his pocket, and handed some munny to Hoshi. “Lost a bet. This is yours.” He said with a shrug, refusing to elaborate further. He’d rather not let her know he’d accidentally caught sight of her and Alias’ private moment if he could help it.

Lucian wiped sweat from his brow, lowering his Keyblade as the last of the Guard Armor faded. His heart was still pounding in his chest, and yet he found himself staring at the empty space where the monster had been with a grin.

“Okay…” he exhaled, catching his breath. “After everything that’s happened today, a giant suit of armor falling out of the sky to fight us is actually… the most normal thing I’ve seen.” The laugh that followed was short and hollow, but it was something.

His grin wavered as he glanced at the others. “Actually, I have something to tell you all. I got some really big news. Just before this started, I found out… I’m not just a kid from the Islands. I’m what they call a Prince of Heart.” His voice dipped a little, uncertain, but he pushed through. “Apparently there’s this light inside me. Something the darkness really wants. And I guess that means I’m supposed to protect it.”

Lucian glanced away with an awkward chuckle, and rubbed the back of his head nervously. “…So, no pressure, right?”

Then his expression grew serious again. “But that’s not all. I also found out where Alias is. He’s alive, and he’s in a place called Wonderland.” He tightened his grip on the Keyblade. ”That means we got our next stop. Once we catch our breath, it’s off to Wonderland. Wherever that is.”

Hoshi

The Guard Armor fell to the combined assault from the massive part of warriors and mages. Following the dispersal of the mighty foe, Hoshi too, fell in her own way. Her legs, weary and wobbly, shook and gave out beneath her; she fell back, catching her fall with her hands and landed seated with her legs splayed out in front of her. "Finally," she said. She clasped the Keyblade, which had fallen to the ground beside her, and stared at it with a raised eyebrow. Is it even... worth it? Whether it was tired arms or something else, the weapon felt heavy in her hand. Maybe with training it would feel more natural, like her sword and staff back on the Islands. But until then, she wasn't sure about the whole thing.

Fortunately, she wouldn't have to think it much in that moment.

A shadow appeared over her, approaching stride by stride. She looked up to Levi looking down at her. "Hey. Fancy meeting you here," she said, half joking. She surveyed herself, checking for any significant wounds or bruises, and finding none. "Yeah. Looks like I made it out OK. I mean, if Tsu asks, it wasn't your turn to watch me... I know, he wouldn't buy that; he probably still remembers me as his baby sister." She shook her head with a grimace when Levi asked about Alias. She dug the end of her Keyblade against the ground and propped herself up with it; her legs still shook, but she managed to stay upright with her Key as a crutch. "I... uh... I passed through the Darkness to get here," she said with a shiver in her voice. "I... It was... Some guy back on the Islands gave me this coat before I went through; he was wearing one just like it. I couldn't see his face though because his hood was drawn up and it looked like the shadows blocked him out."

She looked hesitantly at Levi as he shoved a handful of Munny into her hand. "Should I even ask?"

She didn't get an answer, as then Lucian had begun speaking. "A prince?" She looked at Levi and forced a humorous smirk. "Hopefully he doesn't make us call him 'Your Majesty' now," she said. She quickly reverted back to a more straight face, acknowledging both the importance of keeping Lucian safe, and getting more than a bit excited over the news that Alias was still alive and had that someone knew where he was. She limped a few steps, saying "Well then we better get going! Who knows how long he'll be ther--" She halted, clasping her right leg as it cramped on her.

"Best not to go anywhere just yet." A man with long brown hair, adorned in copious amounts of leather and more belts than necessary strode up to the group. The man lowered and holstered his weapon, and looked upon the scene with approval and a faint smile. He nodded at the near dozen-strong party that had just felled the counterpart of the Opposite Armor. Behind him, Hoshi could see Zac, the woman Aerith from earlier, a nimble-looking girl with dark hair, and Leon and Launchpad. Hoshi ducked behind Levi, afraid to be seen by the pair after sneaking off on them before. The brown-haired man's gaze fell on Hoshi, mostly out of her being closest to him as he passed by. "You'd best get some proper rest," he said to her.

"Leon," Aerith whispered to Hoshi, pointing at the man. Hoshi nodded, now having a face to the person she was supposed to have found. "Leon is right," Aerith continued, now addressing the group as a whole. "You've all fought bravely today. A good night's sleep will help prepare you for the journey ahead."

"As for which," Leon said without pause. "It may not be so simple as everyone going to one world." He scanned the group, quickly identifying Donald and Goofy, as well as Daisy and Max. He pointed to the Goofs. "You two," he then pointed to Daisy and then Donald. "And you, and you. Sorry if there's no time for proper introductions now, but I see you're all emmissaries of the King. We'll need to talk with all of you once we're back at our lodging."

"And you two as well," Yuffie added, looking at Leon and Luanchpad. Squall nodded in agreement.

"And Zac, if he wants in on it."

"Hey now! What about the rest of us!" Hoshi started toward Leon, who raised his hand.

"You'll get filled in after we've had our say. All of you from the Islands have been through enough for now."

Hoshi backed away, retreating next to Levi.

"So whenever we're all ready, Yuffie, Aerith and I have some rooms set aside at the Hotel in the Second District. You're all welcome to rest there for the night. The Keybearers and the Sorceress will have the Blue Room to themselves. Everyone else can split as they see fit."

After all was said and done, Morgan needed a moment. Dizziness washed over her, and she felt as though she was ready to collapse. Fortunately, it passed after a brief rest, as apparently even standing was too much energy. But hearing what Daisy said, and with her help, she managed to pull herself back up, leaning on her staff.

"If I was some powerful Sorceress before, shouldn't I have plenty of mana to draw on?"
It was like it wasn't just her memories that were left behind... but her magic as well. Is this how Sora feels every time he gets reset to level 1 when a new game comes out?

She took a deep breath, and nodded to Daisy and Max. "I'll be fine, I guess I just have to find my limits. It feels strange knowing the words and motions to cast a spell, but not the limits of how much magic I can use. Feels like... holding up a shield that might shatter at any moment."

There wasn't much time for discussion about her magic though, when she heard a new group approach, and start addressing them all. After Leon said all that he needed to say, Morgan looked around at the group, taking note of everyone who was here. It seemed almost everyone was accounted for, except for the strange man who had shown up back on the island. Strange that he showed up, everything fell to darkness, and then he disappeared... but there wasn't much point in dwelling on that now.

"Is anyone hurt?" She stood upright, trying to look like she hadn't exhausted herself, and at least thanks to Daisy, she wasn't completely drained anymore.

Daisy pondered Morgan's question for a second. "Perhaps whatever or whoever took your memories also took your mana as well. A curious thing indeed. But no matter. Whatever you lost can be regained again."

Donald turned as the new group approached. When Aerith said Leon's name, Donald's eyes opened wide. He was the Leon that he and Goofy were supposed to find when searching for the keyblade wielder. "You're the one King Mickey told us about." He thought to question where was he the whole time these kids were in danger, but he noticed that it looked like they had been in a battle themselves so he decided to forget about it. He turned to the group of Heartless refugees. "You can trust them. They're friends of the King."

"And you all need rest after the day you've had." Goofy interjected. "Especially you, miss." He said looking at Hoshi as she retreated next to Levi. "Do you need some help getting there?" He asked, showing his chivalrous side.

Max wasn't quite sure what was going on or who all of these people were, but if they were friends of the King, they were fine with him. He walked in front of Lady Morgan and knelt down with his back turned towards her and his arms out. "Lady Morgan, I can carry you over to their hotel."

Before everyone could go their separate ways, Zac raised his hand and called out, "Hey, so, before we all decide we're out of danger, I've got some bad news: we're still in danger. But, good news is that it's easily fixed by anyone who can summon a giant key."

He slipped his hands into his pockets and continued, "We all know the Heartless are constantly going after hearts, right? But not just the hearts of people like us. They're also after the hearts of worlds, but they can only get to it when certain conditions are met and a Keyhole appears. Over in the Second District, there's a Keyhole just sitting there, ready for Heartless to pour into it, devour this world's heart, and wipe it from existence, just like it did to your island. We managed to fend them off this time, but given how much it took out of us, I doubt we'll be able to do it a second time."

He pulled a hand out of his pocket and summoned Stonecall before driving the tip into the ground. He rested his hands on the pommel and continued, "That brings me to our job as Keybearers. Our Keyblades can open and close any lock, even the Keyholes of worlds." He was quiet for a moment before he added, "I know you're all tired, but I need everyone who can use a Keyblade to come with me to the Second District while the way's clear. Only one of you actually has to lock the Keyhole, but seeing it should give the rest of you an idea on how it's done. This is probably our most important job and you need to be prepared for when you have to do it, yourselves."

As Lucian came forward with his new information, Levi smirked slightly at Hoshi for her comment, before setting his face back to a more serious expression. “Just because you’re the one with this fancy flashlight of a heart doesn’t mean you’re the only one protecting it. We’ve all got each other’s backs, and don’t you forget it.” Regardless of that, it was amazing to hear Alias was alive, and an idea on where he was. Still, it was better to wait on celebrating that until after everyone had a few hours’ rest and maybe a hot meal.

When Hoshi attempted to move forward, only for her leg to seize up on her, Levi placed a supporting hand on her shoulder to make sure she didn’t topple over. When Hoshi moved behind him, he stepped forward to better help her to hide herself. If something about any of these newcomers made her want to fall back, it was enough to set him on edge.

Despite the situation seeming to have petered out, Levi was still relatively on alert. Even though they weren’t in any shape to reject the kindness being presented, it still worried him, how little he knew about what could be described as a small army of capable individuals who seemed keenly invested in the capabilities of Levi and his friends. Until he discovered what their motives were, he was going to be keeping an eye on them.

After a few moments of thought, Levi gave a silent nod as he started moving to follow Zac, and made a small gesture for his fellow islanders to follow. “One last stop.” He emphasized to Zac, before falling into lockstep behind him, still supporting Hoshi, and prepared for anyone else who asked for it. They were all tired in some form or another, though he was probably in the best shape out of the islanders, despite being clobbered by a Large Body early.

Besides, Zac was the one person of the newcomers who Levi had some reason to trust, even if that was just because he was willing to help them learn with these new keyblades. He dismissed True Light’s Flight for the moment, but still kept his bat held loosely in his off hand.

As the guard armour went down. Leon's phone went off a little abruptly. He quickly looked at it

Remember, nobody is to know you are with Star Command and you are to remain Radio Silent until the mission is complete.
Commander Nebula
Leon sighed as he looked at the oxymoronic text message. Then again, Nebula was an old-school Ranger, the type who didn't ask permission, just drank with the guys after he beat the court-marshal.

Walking over to Launchpad and slapping him hard across the face, the duck broke out of his punchdrunk stupor. "Leon, ol' buddy! Did we win?" He looked around for the Guard Armour and saw instead the rest of their compatriots heading for Third District. "Good, love it when we win." Leon held up the text message for Launchpad to read. He did so, slowly, then looked at Leon who's face remained stoic and unemotional. "Does he REALLY not trust us?" Leon gave him the look that said 'I don't think he trusts anyone.'

The pair then followed everyone until they met back up with everyone. Launchpad spotted moving out from behind Levi to ask the other Leon a question, but as she made her way back, would find the enormous duck running towards her like a freight train, jumping straight over Levi, landing and picked her up in a big hug. "HOSHI! I'M SO GLAD YOUR OK!" He called. "WE WERE SO WORRIED YOU GOT EATEN BY HEARTLESS AND THEN WE'D BE LOST!!!" Leon sat thinking about how, actually, they'd probably just follow one of the other of the many Keybladers around them instead. But the big galoot that was his compatriot had taken a liking to this one. And Nebula specified they had to help one of them. Launchpad, still holding Hoshi a little too tightly in one arm, he spotted Donald and Goofy. He recognized Goofy from Donalds wallet pictures, but more importantly, the freight train once again roared into motion as he quickly ran across the room to grab Donald in his other immense arm. "DONALD!!! IT'S SO GOOD TO SEE YOU, I'M SO GLAD YOUR OK!!!" He cried out again. "ALL OF MY BESTEST BUDDIES IN THE WORLD UNDER ONE ROOF AGAIN! IT'S LIKE CHRISTMAS!!! DONALD, IS MR MCDEE HERE?" He looked around all happy. At this point, Donald barely able to breathe wriggled out from Launchpad's grasp.

“LAUNCHPAD, PUT ME DOWN, YA BIG PALOOKA!!!” The duck hissed in his annoyed manner. Launchpad then realized exactly how hard he was holding Hoshi. He put her down next to Donald.

"Sorry, Hoshi, i'm just..." He took off his cap, blew his nose hard, wrung out the sopping wet cap into a nearby plantpot and put the hat back on his head. "I'm just so happy everyone's ok and here." Leon slowly joined Launchpad's side. "Oh yeah, Donald, this is my buddy Leon, we met-" Immediately, Leon jumped up, grabbed Launchpad's bill and tied it in a knot again to stop him talking.

"I'm Leon Esla from Altifaria. Launchpad and i came here to answer the call of the Keybarers as was sent out across The Space Between." He said. Short, simple, to the point, Leon wasn't going to risk Launchpad's verbal diarrhoea outing them. Donald looked at the 3 of them.

“Nice ta meetcha!” Donald replied. “And no, Launchpad, Uncle Scrooge isn't here. He's got his own stuff to do. Plus, not much money in saving the universe.” Launchpad let out a hearty belly-laugh.

"Hehehehe, sounds like Mr McDee alright." He looked at Hoshi. "I used to work for Donald's Uncle as his Chauffeur. Flew his plane, drove his car, landed his plane sometimes." Hoshi could see Donald having PTSD flashbacks as he had the thousand yard stare.

“LAUNCHPAD, LOOK OUT FOR THAT MOUNTAIN!”

“I don't see any mountain.”

“OPEN THE CURTAIN!!!”

“But i can't sleep with all of the sun-glare and it's a long trip, i've gotta get plenty of shut eye to keep my wits about me.”

*Kaboom*

Donald slowly turned to look at Hoshi, the look said everything. 'Heaven help you...'

Hoshi

"Oh? Me?" Hoshi's face filled with a shade of red when offered help by one of the knights. She shook her head gently and laughed off the awkwardness. She massaged her leg, hoping to work out the cramping. "No. I should be fine. My brother would never let me live it down if he found out I had to be carried from a fight." She gave Levi a light tap with her elbow. The dissonance between her rejection of help and the reality of Levi already supporting her wasn’t lost on her, but was ignored just the same. "Not to mention this guy," she added, looking up at him with a weak but cheeky smile. "You and Kitsu would have a good laugh over that.” Feeling some comfort come back to her leg, she stood properly, and allowed her Keyblade to return to wherever it went when it wasn’t in her hand. With Levi taking the first steps behind Zac, she made to follow him…

“HLGH!”

Something large, forceful, and feathery blindsided her and caught her in a tight headlock. Launchpad… Hoshi’s arms cycled through floundering waves and futilely pushing against the duck’s uncommonly muscular wingarms. They flew out to her sides, and her feet left the ground when Launchpad rushed over to another of their new allies (another duck) and placed him in a similar vicegrip. “Launchpad… please… Hoshi can’t breathe…” She tried to gasp out, but couldn’t quite get the words out for lack of air. Fortunately for her, Donald, presumably more accustomed to Launchpad’s grip strength, managed to voice his dissent loudly enough for both of them, and Hoshi felt the air return to her lungs as suddenly as it had been taken.

She stretched and cracked her neck, which had gone sore from Launchpad’s “hug.” She quickly caught Donald’s eye well enough to get the message, and returned a knowing nod, and shivering slightly before turning to fall in with the rest of the party. When she caught up, she set pace with Levi. “Once we’re back at the hotel,” she spoke quietly from the corner of her lips, “I… I need to talk about something.”

As Zac led the banged-up group to the Second District, he glanced back at his companions, noting the black coat that Hoshi wore. He felt a faint surge of anger rush through him at the sight of the coat, but quickly pushed it down before it showed on his face as he turned forward again. He took a deep breath and pushed open the door to the Second District and the Keyhole that awaited them.

After the group finished in the Second District, where Zac gave the Keybearers the tutorial on how to close Keyholes and once again impressed on them the importance of doing so on any worlds they visit, he led everyone to the hotel, where he met up with Leon and their friends in the Green Room while the Keybearers rejoined Morgan in the Blue Room. Some minutes later, Zac stepped into the Blue Room with a yawn. "Man, I can't wait to get some sleep," he said as he shut the door behind him. "Now that all's said and done, it's hitting me how tired I am."

He took a seat on the floor against the wall and continued, "So, good news: thanks to the Keyhole being closed up, the world's safe. There are still some leftover Heartless here and there, but the only path to the world's heart was sealed up. Between that and Leon's group keeping a lid on the Heartless, we don't have anything to worry about. I wasn't around to see you guys in action, but the fact that we're all alive tells me enough.
