Duel Monsters. Created by Maximillian Pegasus as a game to entertain children, but ended up practically subsuming culture. What few know is the fact that the game was merely rediscovered and patented. Descended from the ancient art known as "Shadow Games" the spirits of another realm were captured in large stone tablets and used to Duel each other. Duel Monsters is merely a more convenient version of it. But the world from which these spirits came still exists. And the humans who are capable of commanding them. Their descendants still exist in the modern world.
Seto Kaiba, the man who brought the Duel Monsters to the masses, Yugi Moto, the King of Games were but two of the descendants. But family trees branch and there are plenty of others out there. Those who find themselves inextricably called to this world.
Now, that world is under attack. Dark forces move within. A virus that corrupts any and all it touches. Creating a swarm of evil...

You are someone who has been isekai'd into the Duel Monsters World. Think of the Big 5 and Noah arcs from the original series or the Dimension World arc from GX.
You can make whatever kind of character you want, but just bare in mind that somewhere in your past, you are descended from one of the Ancient Sorcerer's of Egypt. This doesn't mean you have to play an immediate relative of a canon cahracter, it does however mean you are at least VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY distantly related to at least one of them.
Honestly, the same as every other RP's 1v1 fight. You generally decide among yourselves who will win a duel based on where the story is going and duels will be cinematic as opposed to doing the one thing that nobody in this day and age should ever have to be forced to to "Actually play the game"
And i do mean that in a very loving way. See, Yu-Gi-Oh is not an even slightly balanced game, meaning at any one point in the game, 99% of cards are unplayable. Meaning if we want to decide matches based on playing the game, this means that everyone is going to be playing the current meta. And that's a fate worse than death.
Point is, I want the guy who stands Beaver Warrior to have just as much story impact as the guy playing the latest Ryzeal T0W deck.

Sweet. I’ll get to work on a character in a bit. Looking forward to this. Quick question though. Will we need to run by cards with you if they’re custom?
@Darkmoon Angel Yeah, custom cards will need to be submitted for approval. Whole new archetypes and stuff is gonna be a bit of an arseache, but just "Hey, can i fuse 3 Red Eyes Black Dragons into a Red Eyes Ultimate Dragon?" and stuff like that should be fine.
Very early WIP. Could we potentially buff the card "Giltia the D. Knight"? I always liked the card but didn't care for his attack or fusion materials. I always thought he looked like an upgraded Celtic Guardian. I made buffs in the attached image but i get it if it's not allowed. I also added lore for my deck because I was feeling extra spirited.

In a hidden grove, the elves lived in peace. At the heart of their society stood the Triumvirate: Ancient Elf, Mystic Elf, and Dark Elf were the three wise and powerful beings who upheld harmony among the clans.
One day, the dragons descended upon the forest. A lone warrior, Giltia, rose to meet them. Through valor and strength, he drove the beasts back. For this, the Triumvirate honored him with the sacred title of Celtic Guardian, protector of the realm.
But peace would not last.
The Dark Elf, seduced by power, sought to bend Giltia to her will. As she worked in secret, the Ancient Elf left the elven lands and vanished into the Mountains. With the Triumvirate broken, the balance was lost, and the Dark Elf seized control.
Giltia rose as the Dark Knight. Under her orders, he imprisoned the Mystic Elf and scattered the Elves, who fled into the deep forest. The land was cursed, and the Dark Elf ruled in shadow from the Castle of Dark Illusions.
Far away, the Ancient Elf had not vanished but instead had ascended. Now the Lord of D., he returned at the head of a terrible winged army. With the Flute of Summoning Dragon, he awakened The First of the Dragons, who laid siege to the dark castle. Giltia clashed with the Lord of D. and slew Divine Dragon Ragnarok, forcing them into retreat.
With the Dark Elf weakened, the Gemini Elves and Dancing Elf reformed a new Triumvirate. The Dancing Elf called upon Wingweaver, the guardian of the Deep Grove. With her aid, they infiltrated the Castle of Dark Illusions and freed the Mystic Elf from her chains.
Enraged, the Dark Elf prepared to destroy them all. But Giltia, his spirit awakened by the truth, turned on his dark mistress. With the Gift of the Mystic Elf and armed with the Soul Spear, he banished her and The Castle of Dark Illusions crumbled into dust.
Yet peace was fleeting.
The Ancient Elf, reborn as King Dragun, returned once more. The First of the Dragonlords rose with him, and together they prepared the world for the arrival of the Five-Headed Dragon.
Once more, Giltia rallied the elven defenders. But against the might of Dragun’s forces, even the soul of the forest trembled.

Biography: A young girl living in rural England whose family tend to the local graveyard. Long ago, the family immigrated to England from Egypt, though they have long since assimilated into Britain and scarcely kept any traditions and customs they had brought from Egypt. A story passed down in the family was that they were descended from a high-ranking priestess in the Pharaoh's court, though since there were no official records or proof of such things, Alyssa did not put much stock into it. At least until she got herself an internship for England's branch of KaibaCorp while studying for her Business Degree in College.
Unsurprisingly for a company under Seto Kaiba, it is customary that all of its employees, even interns, be able to duel to some degree, thus Alyssa had to build a deck as part of her orientation. While originally she had planned to simply look up popular decks' archetypes as a starting point, she felt herself drawn to a particular archetype to the point that the monsters in the archetype appeared in her dreams, the Gravekeeper Archetype. Thinking it apropos and somewhat funny, given her family tradition of being the gravekeeper of her hometown, she decided to go with it. While that was the end of it for some time, after briefly meeting the CEO of KaibaCorp himself when he was inspecting the England branch of KaibaCorp, she started having dreams of being a priestess in a Pharaoh's court, a Pharaoh who looked similar to her current boss, for some reason. It was then that Alyssa started to think that there might be more than just legends to the stories passed down in her family about how they were descended from a high-ranking Egyptian Priestess.
Alyssa was back in her hometown for the holidays, tending to the local graveyard as was tradition, when she was suddenly pulled to another world.

Lantern
A bag containing water bottle and basic utilities
Like Isis and Ishizu, or Kaiba and Priest Seto, Alyssa was the descendant/reincarnation of an ancient Egyptian Sorcerer, Priestess Azisa. Priestess Azisa served in Pharaoh Seto's court as the successor of Karim, who held the Millennium Scale. After the devastation that followed the robbing of King Aknamkanon's tomb by the Thief King Bakura, Priestess Azisa proposed the formation of an elite unit to protect the tomb, which she then led. This elite unit that protected the tomb of the pharaohs later became the basis of the Gravekeeper Archetype.

Would it be possible for me to not be isekai'd and instead be someone from this world we are being thrown into? Could be funny to be a swordsman of landstar or something
________________________________________________________________________________________ Name: Noevelle Age: 31 Gender: Book Appearance: Skills:
An encyclopedic understanding of the creatures of the duel world!
Minor magical prowess, mostly enough for parlor tricks and activating spell circles, etc.
Multiple languages at his disposal, ranging from the language of beast warriors, aliens, and many more!
Biography: Noevelle is a boo koo, a magical spirit envoked by many spell casters to make their spellbooks function autonomously. This is primarily a luxury for powerful spellcasters, ones who might require both hands for combat or for a spell book to flip to the right page without them willing it to.
Noevelle was not much different than most of his kind. He was created by a great and mighty wizard, one who was a major protector and ruler of his a mighty magical city. Noevelle quickly learned he was one of many, as this particular spellcaster had an abundance of spell books, towers full.
Despite this, Noevelle was given a particularly crucial task: he was made to teach the younger students of the arcane schools the basics of magic. While this may seem like a degrading job to many, to Noevelle this was a magical oppurtunity. His patients was tested but more than anything it was honed and fashioned into a great asset of his. Ultimately he became one of the better teachers, and many of his students went on to be skilled magicians.
So Noevelle was greatly disheartened when he heard of the Iswarm. Many of the very students he taught lost their lives fighting off the threat, and many more where turned and corrupted. Eventually his master and creator had seen enough and created a magical barrier around their city, shutting out the world outside while they waited for this disaister to end.
Noevelle could not accept this. The world was dying and he could not simple sit idly. Instead, he opted to escape the city, and he did so with what little magic he actually possessed. His knowledge led him to have faith in an ancient prophecy, one that he hoped to come true. That heroes from another world would be their saviors!
Items: Ironically for a living book, Noevelle carries around a book. It mostly just has a list of rules of the ancient game but is where he had discovered the ancient Prophecy. Besides from this and his deck, he also carries a set of Tarot cards, seeing them as he simpliest of magic!

Screw it! Had an idea. An apprentice Dark Magician and their duelist partner who so happen to be descended from two certain people.
Funny thing is? This Dark Magician kind of… sometimes fails to cast spells properly giving him an actual motive to travel with this Duelist and likely other duelists as well.
