Evelyn

As Evelyn was enjoying the sensation of relief, her momentary bliss while sitting on the ground was soon disturbed. Growlithe let out a sudden bark, and the blonde looked over at him to see what was wrong. But, for whatever reason, the little pooch was looking up into the air... Or well, the thick-as-a-concrete-ceiling canopy of the trees in this deep part of the woods.

Sadly, Eve herself didn't get the chance to follow suit, as a sudden chain of events would unfold that amde such a thing impossible.

Thwerp!
"Huwaaaaaah!?"

Suddenly, out of nowhere, the little skull-spinerak had launched a string of... String... shot... At the fashionable girl, struck her chest and then yanked her forward. Now, granted, she was sitting down, but still, that's some impressive strength for a little spider. Of course, the result of this sudden tug was that Eve got to experience the very famous phrase 'eat dirt' first-hand, as she plopped forward unceremoniously and face-down into the ground. She released a squeaky, pathetic sound as a response.

Before she could really register or respond to this sudden act of aggression though, there was another sensation. This time, a sudden sharp breeze swept across her entire ack and head, and she could hear Joltik, Sentret and Growlithe all cry out in... Surprise? Fear? Confusion? It was hard to tell when your face was stuck in the ground and all you could do was rely on your hearing.

Thus, Evelyn pushed herself back up into a seated position, wiping off specks of dirt and grass and grime as she did so. To say she was upset was an understatement. After all, this would take forever to fix! ... But her anger was short-lived, as once she'd regained composure, she saw it. The thing that had most likely caused the gust of wind above her. The thing she, now realized, had been pulled out of the way of. The thing that, if she'd remained seated where she was just moments ago, likely would've taken her head straight off.

It was...

A giant murder-bug. A giant-ass murder bug that was nearly the same size as her. A full-ass human. But unlike a full-ass human, instead of soft squishy meat-arms, this thing sported death-scythes of decapitation +6. Eve just stared in shock.

Did... This thing make those cuts in the trees...? What is--

Her inenr thoughts were cut short, as her Rotom Phone chimed in and delivered an ever-useful nugget of information about this... Scyther. Yup. That was a very fitting name. The problem now wass... This Mantis-thing was gla glaring at her. Like, 'Yo son, I'm gonna break yo' spine'-amounts of glaring. It was not happy with Eve being here. Or maybe it wasn't just angry at Eve, but rather all of humanity? hard to tell, and frnakly, there wasn't any time for contemplation.

BECAUSE THE DAMN THING WAS CHARGING AT HER AGAIN!

"Hiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeee~!!" Was the noise that Evelyn let out as the Grim Reaper of the Forest came zooming towards her, ready to try and go for round two of Let's--lop-off-the-pretty-blonde's-head. Along with her eyes going big and wide, like a Deerling caught in a car's headlights.

Joltik, who had moved ahead to investigate the spinerak wasn't exactly close enough. Growlithe was, as a good boy should, coming towards his Trainer, running as fast as his little legs could muster. But he was still a ways off, and the Scyther was way closer to Eve than he was. The only feasible and viable option to help her in this moment was Sentret, who had stayed behind - oon account of his wary nature - and remained relatively close. Eve's brain switched over to instinctual mode. All thoughts or unnecessary brain-activity not directly related to her imminent survival were ejected like last week's garbage out of a trash chute.

"S-Sentret, Quick Attack!"
"Sen!"

It was the only option she had. The only thing that could close the gap and possibly do anything to the Scyther to knock it off course or interupt it's attack or delay it. As she was still sitting on the ground, she didn't have time to get up rise to her feet. Instead, Even did what any rational and life-treasuring person would do - she hurled herself to the side as much and as quick as she could, from her position. Which was more like a sideways flop than anything else. Still... Hopefully the attack from her Sentret would do... Something...!

Sentret is using Quick Attack on Scyther. Growlithe and Joltik are moving to run back over to Evelyn's side to protect her. Evelyn has performed a sideways belly-flop to try and avoid getting a new haircut.

Audrey aggressively stared at the yellow loaf thing as it nuzzled Rift, the damage wasn't much, sure. But the annoying effect that came with it is what made Audrey frustrated, how was she going to catch the yamper if her only Pokémon is unable to move? She stared hopelessly, trying hard for a good idea. Audrey soon realized if she doesnt do something soon, then, the yamper would attack back. She stumbled over her words before saying, "Rift! Hold on there buddy!! Just a few more scratches and then we'll have a new friend!" That seemed to encourage the paralyzed Zorua a bit as Rift attempted to enact his trainer's commands.

Audrey mumbled, "Once that thing is low on health, I'll throw a Pokéball at it.!" Her mind was already racing with potential name options, like...nevermind, once Audrey got the chance, she'll definitely catch it! I hope.

"Even if we can't always understand Pokemon with words, we can always understand them through intention if we look close enough. That's the first step of being a trainer. However, in this case I suppose I can't blame you. After all, you aren't from around here are you?" She said with a knowing grin that stretched across her wrinkled face. He gave off the vibes of a stranger in a strange land.

Her gaze shifted to the Riolu and there was a sadness in her eyes. Her smile almost seemed regretful. "Did you know that Lucarios are very powerful Pokemon and one of the few with the ability to sense the aura of all living things? Each aura is unique and tells of a person's character. They can even weaponize it, mold it into what they wish. Imagine how valuable a Pokemon they were to Cipher and how ruthless they were to acquire them, but there was a singular problem: they evolved when they formed unbreakable bonds. What they did, well, I'll spare you the details. It's too cruel to mention."

She shifted her attention back to Jason. "Ten years isn't a long time and trauma never really heals, not for them. Could you ever imagine a Pokemon like a Riolu inheriting that trauma, believing that evilness is our nature and yet it meets a human with a clean and just aura? You are an enigma to it, so perhaps it wanted to see who you are when in battle. Are you a cruel trainer in the heat of battle or does your aura stay pure? Those are the questions it sought."

"Lou..." the Riolu said as it shifted its gaze away from Jason and the old lady.

"Ah, hit the nail on the head didn't I?" She said with a chuckle.

What does Jason do?

@Goggy

One could feel the tension as both Pokemon were set on a collision course. The audience could not tear their eyes away from the spectacle, except for Vivian who could not dare to watch what was about to unfold. A flaming fist met the night cloaked leek, sparks of fire and darkness crackled as their attacks fought for supremacy. However, they as neither of them backed down and continued to push forward there was a blink or you missed it moment where they seemed to have pushed past each other while no one could tell if their attacks landed or not.

They both stood there in silence. A delayed splash of darkness cut along Atlas' chest, but the automaton stood there firmly. The Farfetch'd on the other hand fell to its knees before it fell face forward onto the ground. The crowd erupts in cheers for their new champion, jumping and shouting with glee.

In the midst of celebrating their victory, the Farfetch'd woke up and looked around searching for someone until its gaze fell upon Vivian. It walked over to the aspiring archaeologist with a very purposeful stride in its step. "Farfetch'd? Farfetch'd farfetch'd." It swung its leek about to gesture fighting as if it was asking if there would be fights where she was going.

It then looked at Atlas and nodded decisively. "Farfetch'd!"

Farfetch'd wants to join Vivian's team! Does she accept?
Also, Atlas is now level 6!

@Lunarlord34

So, how does the dice roll for Steph's final encounter work out? Will her outside of the box thinking work?

Little sparks of flame and jets of water shot out from the smog with the expectation from her opponent and his Metagross that they were meant for him. Well, they were half right. Hot steam exploded in front of its face, causing it to close its eyes from the stinging pain. Should this have technically counted as a landing attack? Well, that was the least of its worries. As it opened its now teary eyes, an annoying seagull was raining jets of water from above and at its trainer behest it began to dodge around easily dodging the Water Guns though with the knowledge that they were being pinned down so the pinball could land its mark.

Even for an experienced trainer, this was too many things to juggle all at once especially with just one Pokemon fighting three at once. Not to mention that even though Steph was a rookie, she had a knack for battling so he wasn't battling little Joey with his 100% Rattata so it should have been no surprise when she found a blind spot. What neither Jean, his Metagross, or anyone in the crowd for that matter could have ever expected was that the Wimpodd was carrying Dusk and then propelled it straight towards the steel-type.

"Metagross, you gotta use Hammer Arm to knock it away!" Jean ordered out of panic and the Metagross was about to swing its big, meaty, metal arm down against the ground again, but an errand stream of water met Dusk's Ember attack causing another cloud of hot steam to hit its eyes once again. It just gave enough of an opening for Dusk for one loud Astonish, making such a startling noise that would cause one to flinch from surprise!

If anyone could have seen how much damage Dusk's Astonish actually did with the visual aid of a health bar, they would've needed an actual numerical value to show just how little damage the sparkly candle did. If it were an attack that actually needed physical contact with the Metagross, it would have made a tink noise as they bounced off its metal carapace.

The crowd stood there in stunned silence with no one really sure what to make of it. Then the silence was broken by laughter not from the crowd, but from her opponent standing opposite from her. Jean was laughing with his chest out, his hands on his hips, and his head thrown back to the sky. "Bahahahahaha! Man, I guess this is what I get for acting all high and mighty! After all these years I still have a lot to learn, huh? Well played kid, well played!"

Jean approached Steph with a big ol' grin on his face and held his hand out for a handshake. "Steph, right? Well, I think you deserve a reward after a battle like that! Name your price, within reason of course."

Well, what does Steph ask?

@Xaltwind

Was the sideways belly-flop really going to help her? No. Did it make her feel safer. Maybe? Then again, she had way worse issues at the moment. Green death was making its way towards her with murder in its heart.

Luckily for Evelyn, the Scyther was just moving towards her and was not using any of its arsenal, so when her Sentret used Quick Attack it moved for at least the moment faster than it. The brown blur threw itself at the mantis, pushing it back though it was plain to see that it didn't suffer all that much damage from the attack. It was much more sturdy than one would have expected something as fast as that could be. Still, if she could hurt it then she could beat it.

"Scyther!" It cried out in a rage. It dashed around the area quickly, using the trees and the foliage as cover to make it more difficult for Evelyn and her Pokemon to keep track of its whereabouts, if they even could in the first place. It then reappeared not behind Evelyn or her in front of her Sentret, but behind her beloved Joltik and viciously swung its blade-like arm down towards the little electric tick with a Fury Attack.

Meanwhile, the Spinnark that had helped Evelyn from losing her head just slid back into its skull-like shell with its two beady eyes staring through what would have been the mouth, watching intently.

What does Evelyn do?

@Joshua Tamashii@Crimson Flame

One of the Mimikyu, the one that Amelia's sparkly ghostly stump jabbed in its not face, knocking it back to the ground. Its 'head' dropped down by its side, resembling a Pikachu with a broken neck, much to the Pikachu's horror. The other one Amelia essentially had to dive towards to try and grab it though it was just too fast for the small medium to try and catch it with her little dainty arms.

However, Valerian even though this was totally his fault, stepped up and threw out both of his Pokemon into the fray. Camellia the Petilil glowed with a light green light and grew an extra size as it used Growth, but while it did so one of the Mimikyu looked at and glowed with that same green aura, growing an extra size as well. It seemed like it had the ability to copy moves! When Camelia used Absorb, it shot red beams of energy at the Mimikyu that slipped Amelia's arms and pushed it back with the force of the attack and skid back. It's fake head dropped down to its side as well.

Aurelia Rose blasted the murderous Pokemon with a glittery gust of wind, a spread move, meaning that it could hit both the Mimikyu. The sugar, spice, and everything nice blast of pink wind hit both of them for neutral damage and it looked like they were ready to retaliate. One of the Mimikyu, the larger one, detached the wooden tail from its costume and lunged towards Aurelia Rose, swinging it down for a mighty Wood Hammer because for some reason it could know that at this level! Meanwhile, the other Mimikyu was less interested in Aurelia or Camellia and was more interested in the Phantump. It rushed towards the shiny stump head and then performed an Astonishing cry!

So, how do they react?

@CitrusArms

Would Regan's lie work? The Magnemite turned to look back at her as she called for her 'Kadabra,' none the wiser that she was pulling the wool over its one very big eye. So up and up it went up the apartment and uh, how good was Regan's cardio? This was not a small apartment complex; it was built to be as ostentatious and to offer great views of Grand Glory City so it was multiple stories tall. There was a reason why this building had elevator access.

So as Kaebe and the aspiring Pokemon ranger chased the Magnemite all the way up those flights of stairs, they were probably beginning to feel it because let's face it no matter how fit you are, stairs somehow are the Achilles heel to most living people. Today was a terrible day to have legs. Well, the Magnemite also seemed to be getting exhausted even though it had no need of legs. Perhaps electromagnetism had its own equivalent to leg day?

Anyway, they would reach the roof. The Magnemite had burst its way through the door though it looked very exhausted at this point. It's magnet appendages drooped by its side as it huffed and puffed for air. It would look at Kaebe and Regan with a tired side eye. "Magnemite?" Even without a shared language, she could tell it was saying 'are you kidding me?'

@GremlinAgain

Paralysis aside, it was not like Rift had suffered major damage. He was just a bit slower due to the electricity causing his muscles to stiffen. With a few more scratches and receiving a tackle from the loaf, Audrey would throw a Pokeball in an attempt to catch her first wild Pokemon. It bopped the little dog on the head and it was absorbed in a beam of red light before it plopped onto the ground.

It shook once...

It shook twice...!

It shook thrice!

Rift is currently half health and paralyzed.

Well, with that she caught the electric loaf. If she looked around she would notice that Archie was nowhere to be seen as he was off having his own adventure somewhere around Route 1.

What does she want to do?

So the young adventurers go deeper into this strange cave as they chase after the bizarre cries through the strange glowing mist without any more incidents luckily. They just continued to run towards the sounds of some poor sap screaming for his life while something kept shouting 'TUFF.'Eventually, they ran through the mouth of another tunnel and found themselves in an open space in the cave though it was quite odd, a running theme for their day. The rock that made up the space was eerily smooth and even as if it were cut by hand.

However, perhaps they weren't focused on it because there were two puffballs jumping around some poor kid dressed in a punk memorabilia who was splayed out on the floor with a look of terror upon his face. The kid looked at Nils and Clarissa and held out his hand towards them in desperation. "Hey, I don't know who you guys are or why you're here, but you gotta help me! I- YEEP!" He pulled his hand back when one of the puff balls breathed out a wispy orb of fire.

It was certainly strange. These things looked like Igglybuff, but also not really? For starters, their round bodies were a bright orange, not pink, and instead of a puffy tuft of hair on the top they had various feathers colored red and yellow tied up with dark turquoise beads to resemble flickering embers. Their eyes, which were normally red were also that same shade of turquoise. The only thing that resembled the typical Igglybuff was the trademark swirl on its forehead.

Nils and Clarissa's Rotom Phones hovered in front of them and read the following entry:

Pokedex Entry- Igglybuff, the Ember Pokemon. Igglybuff are filled with highly flammable gas that turns into a 1800 F flame when ignited, leaving their foes blackened. Their diet consists of rocks that are converted into flammable gas and typically favor Roggenrola as their prey.

Well, whatever they were they enjoyed tormenting the poor guy.

What did they do?

It was really had to see what was going on around when you had your face stuck to the gorund. Still, Evelyn could manage to make out the dull thump-sound of her Sentret managing to land its attack against the charging Murder Menace. Daring to hope, she turned her head - still on the ground mind you - and looked in the direction of the noise. Half-expecting to feel the sensation of te charging Bug-type sweep over her head again, she was surprised to find...

... Nothing?

Wat?

In both a fit of slight yerror and equal amounts panic, the blonde girl quickly pushed herself off the ground and did her best to stumble into a standing position once more. By this time, Sentret had managed to bound on back to her side properly, and Growlithe was not far away now - only a few padfooted pitter-patters away. Phew, what a relief, right? Everyone was almost ba--

"Whu-- No! Joltik!!"

The little yellow bug, trying its best tor ace on back to its trainer, had frozen in place. A large, ominous shadow was looming over it, and as the spider-pokemon turned its tiny head to look back behind it, it let out a shrill, frightened mess of garbled chitter-squeaks as it lay on the pokemon-equivalent to The Grim Reaper, towering above it with massive scythe-arms and a face that said: "Hey there, I'm gonna slice you goood, son!'.

Of course, there was nothing that could be done. The Scyther was too close and too faat, Joltik was in too much of an ADD-addled panic and Evelyn's words and voice couldn't possibly come out quick enough, nor could her teenage brain process the ongoing situation fast or efficiently enough, to make any sort of call or command that would change the outcome of what was going on.

ANd was going on was Joltik eating a face-full of [Fury Cutter], letting out a pain chitter-squeak-yelp as it was sent flying away from the bigger bug-type by the strike. After all, Joltik was teeny tiny babbie, and this thing was not. This was, probably, also the first time oor little Joltik had ever experienced any real, substantial pain its fairly short and new life, and it didn't seem like it much cared for the experience, given the many pained, closely shut eyes on its tiny head.

Bouncing like a punted ball, Joltik comedically - but also horrifyingly - tumbled away from Scyhter. And like a good mother-hen, who was far too over-protective, Evelyn's brain didn't even think. On reflex, the blonde girl snatched the pokeball from her belt, aimed and it what a surprisingly accurate first try, recalled poor Joltik back into it's safety-sphere. Not even checking just how hurt it had actually become from the attack. Taking a hit like that and seeing the poor thing ragdoll along the ground was more than enogh to make Eve prioritize the creature's helath and safety.

C'mno, Eve! What the hella re you doign? Look what you did! Because you were so scared and worried about yourself, poor Joltik got hurt! What kind of Trainer are you? Shaspe up, danmnit! Get your shit together, woman!

Anger.

Not at the Scyther though, no. The big bug was probably just defending its territory, or trying to hunt for food. Eve and her pokemon were the ones trespassing and agitating it. She knew this. Of course she did. No, she wasn't angry at the Scyther, evne if it had just slashed ehr most beloved and favorite of babies.

No, she was angry at herself. Disappointed in herself. She'd let surprise and fear cause her to give in to base instincts, and as a result, she'd failed to protect her own partner. She couldn't accept that. She wouldn't accept that. If she was to become Evig's bright and perfect Star, the one who dazzled and shone brighter than the sun, then this sort of thing wasn't allowed. It couldn't be allowed. It wouldn't be allowed.

"Sentret, Growithe, to me!"
"Sentret!" With a salute.
Loud, affirmative bark.

Evelyn herself took a deep breaht. Momentarily closed her eyes, clutched her hands togther and steeled her resolve.

Then her eyes shot open. Yes, they still had flecks and specks of fear and apprehension in them, but there was something else there too. Determination. Resolve. Courage. The girl's face, previously a mess of panic, confusion and fear was now replaced with cool and steadfast model's stone mask, her posture more composed and deliberate, her breaths more measured. She looked, no, stared at the big bad bug ahead of her.

You may just be protecting yourself or your home. But you hurt my precious, precious partner. I'm not letting you off easy, bug-breath.

An epci mologue, ahd it not been for the fact that it had been entirely internal, and even if it had been said aloud, chances are the offending pokemon wouldn't have understood a single of word of it anyway.

"Sentret, Defense Curl! Growlithe, use Ember on that thing!"

Order were given, pokemon responded. Sentret bounced and rolled itself into a fuzzy ball, tightening its skin and fur, densing up its musculature to become sturdier. Growlithe let out an angry bark, likely upset that its first friend had been swatted aside like some bug (which it totally was) by a hysterial house-wife with a rolled-up newspaper. Openings it fanged maw, a barrage of glowing hot ember-shots burst forth, flying towards where Scyther had just sliced Joltik. Hopefully, Evelyn wasn't going to regret using fire inside a forest... And hopefully it'd hit, and prove more damaging than throwing a fuzzy bunny-ball at the giant bug.

Joltik was recalled to Pokeball after taking a hit from Scyther's Furt Cutter. Sentret and Growlithe reached Evelyn's side. Sentret used 'Defense Curl' to bulk up its defenses. Growlithe used' Ember' to try and hit Scyther for great vengeance.

"Woah..." Archie looked in awe at the different kinds of farm Pokémon just milling around while he kept walking through a farm. Throughout the day, he just kept getting amazed again and again about how vastly different this place was compared to his homecity. With the fresh air and the lush vegetation, he actually felt like he had lungs for the first time in his 10-year-old life.

"Che-Che-Che..." His Chespin meekly cried out with tears in its eyes, its body twitching. He could hear and feel Bravos' body jolting from its Paralysis status condition as he carried it on his back, and it snapped him back to the reality of their situation. "Oh right, right! Sorry about that, Bravos. Gotta move fast!" He hoisted his Pokémon to adjust his Chespin's position and picked up the pace with his walking, passing by a few Torchics pecking on the ground before he saw a man which he quickly approached.

"Uh, hello there mister! Are you the- Woah!" Archie was taken aback by how big the man was once he stood up properly. From the stories he was being read to as a kid and the movies he watched, farmers were usually portrayed to have lanky builds and happy, positive vibes. Not only did the guy in front of him looked scary, but his voice could make a Ghastly flee too.

Archie gulped then laughed meekly and nervously, his Chespin now shaking on his back from fear instead of from being Paralyzed. "W-We just want... I mean.. Well... The thing is m-my Chespin got paralyzed by a Yamper while we were training and I thought maybe we can ask for a farmer's help since there's no Pokémon Centers nearby. Pretty please help my partner and I promise I'll repay you! I can maybe help out in your farm, feed the Mareep! Um, pretty please again?" He pleaded, his eyes glittering with hope as the meek Bravos cried out in fear.

Jason looks from the old lady to the Riolu and smiles slightly, understanding her meaning before he approaches the Emanation Pokemon and kneels next to it. "I get that...I am actually not from around here, I grew up in Hoenn. I remember hearing odd news casts about what was going on here, but...I never paid them any mind, was too young to think about it, I guess." He looks at Riolu and offers a hand, his other hand where it could see it. "I do want to apologize for kicking off the battle so suddenly; I guess I was expecting you to already be ready since you'd challenged me like that. If you'll give me the chance, I want to make it up to you." Slayer came over and stood next to his trainer, a smile on the Ralts' face.

"Ral Ra Ralts." It was encouraging the Riolu to give Jason a chance, to start the healing process.

Vivian stays still for a few moments, but with the sound of cheering Pokemon, she peeked between her fingers… Almost surprised to see that Atlas was the one still standing and victorious. Something she was certainly surprised to see, but also just as ecstatic for. But while Atlas turned to the crowd, fist raised in the air to signify their victory and basking in the audience’s adoration, Vivian was met by the Farfetch’d, its own purpose clear: To join her journey in order to gain more strength.

“Oh, um… Well, you can see that I’m not a battler myself, but-” Vivian says, taking a deep breath before she kneels down, carefully plucking a pokeball from her belt and holding it out for the Farfetch’d, “You seem to get along with Atlas well, and I doubt I’ll avoid getting into fights, so I’d be glad to have you aboard” she adds with a smile. Battling was, truly, not her strongest suit, and she knew having two partners who enjoyed it would lead to her getting into more fights that could be avoided… But after the display both Atlas and the Farfetch’d gave, she couldn’t just leave them here. There was an entire region to explore, and she was certain that in her hunt for ruins, both of these Pokemon would gain more strength than they could imagine.

Plus, what if she was attacked by other archeologists wanting to stake claim on her discoveries? She needed help to keep her relics under her protection.

With her agreement, Farfetch’d lifted up a wing, tapping the Pokeball’s center with their feather. A flash of red erupted from the ball, enveloping the old champion before withdrawing into itself, not even bothering to shake as it simply clicked with a successful capture.

Rising to her full height, Vivian placed Farfetch’d’s new Pokeball onto her belt, jogging up to Atlas with their own Pokeball, “Great job Atlas, you did fantastic!” she states, offering the Pokeball to the Golett… An offer that the machine gladly took. They wouldn’t show it, but the fight had truly taken a toll on them, and it would be best to rest. But with her champion now safely stored away, Vivian turns to the crowd, giving a wave to them, “We’ll be going now! Take care of yourselves, and I hope you guys find a cool new champion!”

With that, Vivian takes her leave, getting herself back onto the road. First she had to stop by the Pokemon Center to heal her two fighters, but once that was handled, it would be back to her initial goal: Route 4.

Her attempt the grab the one Mimikyu ended in failure, as she found herself on the ground, scraping her arms on the rough asphalt but she didn't even cry out as she quickly got to her feet. Despite her words, Valarian did stay and actually joined the battle by sening out his two Pokémon, who quickly took out that Mimikyu's disguise before dealing both foes some damage. The small medium switched her focus over to the Mimikyu that Phantump had engaged with, watching as it came in with an Astonish. Amelia doubted her Phantump was up to battle a pokemon as strong as Mimikyu one-on-one but she would have to hope for the best for now and try to adapt as best she could to the situation.
"Phantump, use Sucker Punch!" She shouted, her companion quickly moving in response. They closed in before swiping at Mimikyu with a darkness-enhanced fist. Regardless of the result and whether her opponent's Astonish hit or not, Amelia quickly followed up with another command. "Now, use an Astonish of your own!"

Phantump, if he did not flinch, would move forward to let out a shout of his own, assuming he did not flinch from the previous Astonish or one that might be Mimikyu's follow up.

Regardless of how that series of events played out, Amelia turned to Valarian.
"Can you keep using Fairy Wind? If Phantump and Camellia can keep them occupied, Rose might be able to help whittle them down enough to turn the tides." She asked her human companion. Angry with him or not, they were in this together.

@Remram

In Jean and the crowds defense, hiding a small candle pokemon inside a water coated pinball was borderline-wait no, it was absolutely insane. Dusk certainly gave her a look that made him think it was when he was told to do so, and to be perfectly honest event Steph was surprised the idea actually bloody worked. Just goes to show sometimes unorthodox ideas can work; especially as a surprise tactic. Would it work again? Probably not, as its unexpected development and element of surprise would be lost.

But what mattered was it worked the time it needed to, and no one could wipe the big ol' grin off Stephs face that followed as she gathered up her three mons and gave em a big ol' hug.

"Ya diied bloody good faellahs, ill geh' ya a chiiep naext toime Steve, ya desuhve ih' buddy. ill geh' yah and Glory a trayt oolsao Dusk buddy." Giving the aforementioned Wingull's headfathers a ruffle, she looked up at Jean as he spoke, leaping back up to her feet with Dusk now cradled against her chest in arm as she eagerly took and shook his hand, probably not as firmly as the larger man could back but she wasn't a slouch in that regard either.

"Thighnks mite, and yayh its Steph, yah raylly hahd me scrahtchin moy hayd theah faw awhoile. Oy steell gawt plaenty t' leahn myself thahts faw shooah, huyhahhuyha!" With a matching laugh, the bogan took a moment to ponder what he said next. A reward? She hadn't really thought of anything; to be honest her lack of thought was exactly what got her into this little situation to begin with. If she had thought about it? Probably wouldn't have challenged him. But now that she had, and that she had not only done that but 'won' the challenge?

Her reward?

"Dawnt hahve a spaeh one of em aw a Beldum lyyin around eh?" She was hopeful but expected a no as she pointed at the Metagross. Which considering a no was confirmed to her writer ooc, she would continue as she was denied ic.

"Yayh deednt theenk sao, theenk ya could hook me up on wheah t' foind one? Aw mybee anuhthah cool mawn loike thaht. ooh loike a plyce aw someone aw somethin t' haelp me foind a dienao ya knaow? saw Kuypawcs Hydreigon sao troyd t' ask hiiem, buh' he refused t' taell me. Oolwhys wahnted one, love druygawn types. And stayl. And ice. And fuyah. buh' uh...yayh, Oy just wahnna knaow wheah Oy cahn geh' some cool pokemawn ya knaow? praeferahbly druygawn aw stayls, loike Deino aw Beldum, buh' whuytevah pokemawn yah gawt infao on if ya dunnao wheah t' foind thaem heah would be appraeciated thighnks."

In the meanwhile, she would return Steve and Glory to their pokeballs. They would no doubt be out again soon as Steph did plan on catching a Machop once she learned whatever she could from Jean, and maybe talk to a few other people round, like that loud green haired girl who was also doubtlessly happy about Stephs win, maybe even more than her considering how she had acted thus far, considering she had bet on her to pull this off. Honestly, it was even more insane than the fact Steph had really.

[In short, Steph wants her reward to be information on how to obtain a Dieno and Beldum, though any other info she can gain would be appreciated, whether it be pokemon related or otherwise.]

"Oh roigh', seence weah tohkin infohmuytion, knaow anythin on Taym Syphah?"

Nils
______________________________
[ cs ]

Location: Grand Glory City: Hidden Cavern

As they ran, Nils barely spared a thought for how the tunnels seemed to be changing. The colorful mist, the hazy light that still seemed to somehow reach them, the rocks smoothing out the closer and closer they got to the source of the screams... All noted, but secondary to finding their goal, hopefully in one piece. And when they did finally come upon a more spacious cavern and saw a kid surrounded by a pair of pokemon, Nils stopped short of rushing right up to them.

Just a few moments to take in the situation, enough time that the pokedex registered the orange creatures and chirped a description.

Fire-types, he thought. He might not have studied as many Pokemon as he could have, making these urban-living ones mostly foreign to him, but he at least had the battle properties of pokemon types down pat. So if these puffballs were Fire-types... Nils swiftly retrieved a pokeball from his pocket and held it out, releasing Tors from it. The mudbray shook its body slightly, but upon seeing the situation in front of him Tors spread his legs into a battle stance. His ground-type moves would be best here.

Nils glanced at Rau at his side. The rattata stared straight ahead with large, intent eyes. Nils' battle experience was still limited, but he was his grandfather's grandson- he was confident he could command two pokemon at once. The reason he suspected he might have to wasn't because of what he and Clarissa had just found, but rather what they hadn't.

"I have a feeling these aren't the only pokemon around," he said quietly to Clarissa. Could just those two little firespitters have cried out so loudly that they'd been able to follow the noise the whole time? And... Could Igglybuff really shout "Tuff"?

On guard for any surprises, Nils stepped forward. He didn't go far, just in case the Igglybuff decided to roast their captive for the interference. If the pokedex was to be believed (and there was really no reason to doubt it), they probably weren't going to eat the guy... So maybe they were playing, in their own misguided way, instead of being purposefully malicious. Still, the stranger was clearly terrified, so the best thing to do was to put a stop to it.

Nils took another step and splayed his hands open in front of him. "Hey, hey, can't you two see you're scaring him?" he said. He was talking to the Igglybuffs, but he did glance over to meet the punk's eyes once before looking back at the pokemon. "Why don't you play with us instead?"

Nils didn't gesture or otherwise look back at Clarissa so that his words could be taken to mean play with himself and his pokemon. He wanted to give her the option to take another course of action, whether that be something stealthier or even retreating, although he didn't think that Clarissa was about to abandon anyone here. He'd only known her for a couple of hours at this point, but he was sure about her. He was less sure about the strange pokemon, but he went on anyway.

"Lucky for you two I know a ton of games. We could even test your strength! What do you say?" he said, forcing a grin.

Audrey waited impatiently as Rift scratches the dog, and finally, the yamper was hurt enough to be caught. Clicking her Pokéball into place as she threw it at the loaf-puppy thing, holding her breath.

First shake, fingers crossed. Second shake, toes crossed somehow. Third shake, nothing else to cross really so she silently prayed to Arceus it'd work. When the yamper left the ball, her heart, jaw, and soul dropped before she realized...Its caught! Wait, did it just leave. Hmmm...strange............whatever. Audrey has caught her yellow, electricity-inducing, very un-smart(?), loaf dog! Now the real problem, naming it. "Hmm..what to name." nothing, actually nothing. "Well, not to be rude...It's as dumb as a rock, so why not Rock? But...that's BORING! My companion shouldn't be named JUST rock...uhh" she trailed off before light bulb moment. "I KNOW!!!!" She cheered, perhaps a bit too loud but hey, nobody (probably) is listening. "I'll name you Comet, your adorable." Now, Comet didn't know what a Comet was, as it was pretty clueless but it was happy with its new trainer's excitement.

Speaking of excitement, Audrey was totally excited. But it wasn't the time for that! Rift is paralyzed and hurt badly, so was Comet...!! So, as a reasonable person, she decided to seek out Archie first. She looks around, Hes not here...oh. welp, that was a nice try however. Audrey began thinking, where would Archie go? Building a telepathic connecti- Wait nevermind its all in her head. She sighed, " Where woud've Archie went? He was just training... I think. " she then had a spark of idea. Maybe hes out to heal since Bravos is probably injured? Ah yes! So... Audrey looks around, no Pokécenters, just barns, fields, and a running yamp- WAIT THATS HERS!

She quickly put Rift back into his Pokéball, sparing him the trouble from running. Audrey chased as fast as she could, hoping to get back her dog. "OH COME ON I JUST CAUGHT YOU!!!" she shrieked, Audrey coudn't imagine instantly losing a caught Pokémon!! Well, she could, it sucked though. And suddenly, Comet had led her to a farm as it inevitably crashed into it. Worth a shot, she picked up the flailing doggo and entered, not before fixing her hair and wiping sweat of course. "Uh, hell- Archie?" she said, staring at him and a very intimidating person. " Did i walk into something?" Audrey said. Oh well, atleast it ended up in something good. She didn't know why Archie would come here, but if he did do so willingly, it must have something that can help heal her Pokémon. Uhh, Audrey didn't fully enter, just stood infront of the door staring. What was she doing? Who knows.

Claris

The mention of a Gym Leader caught Claris’s attention. Her handshake landed with polite precision, brief and exact as she offered, “Claris.” She didn’t press, but she logged the detail. She’d skimmed the Gym Leader registry ahead of time. If Ms. Astrid’s grandmother was who she thought, then transition lined up. She filed it away with everything else.

The building’s interior hit cleaner than expected: polished tile, reinforced paneling, tech wired into every seam. Modern, well-funded. More polished than most League facilities she’d visited—and noticeably untouched by history. That, faintly, she noted.

She moved easily through the corridors, letting Astrid’s practiced cadence wash over her. PR language, mostly, but threaded with useful context. Pawniard kept at her side, silent and vigilant, his gaze cutting toward each hallway without slowing.

The training arena opened like a staged reveal—wide dirt fields bracketed by control panels, ready for modification or playback. Standard in concept, elevated in execution. Along the wall, a small observation section held scattered guests, but three stood out by proximity and posture: one sulking, one sparkling, one visibly wishing he were somewhere else.

Claris took one look and got the read instantly.

Unfortunately, the pink-haired one caught her too. He lit up like a signal flare.

“Oooo a new girl! Come here, come here!”

She didn’t roll her eyes, exactly, but the impulse brushed close. Still, she crossed over. Measured steps. Even pace. Expression unreadable by design. Pawniard stayed close, his presence quiet but unmistakable.

She stopped just outside their personal space—not withdrawn, but clearly self-contained—and gave the loud one a nod. “You’re not part of the main class.”

An observation, not a question. Let them correct her if they wanted to talk.

So Two Pokedex Walk Into A Bar, And The-

....

....

....

....

The psychic slowly looked down at the Roggenrola in her arms. Pyrite looked back up slowly at his trainer in turn. It was only a moment of pause, and yet no words needed to be said. The exchange of looks was more than enough, both after the Steelix, after seeing this scene and hearind the dex' information, and due to her powers allowing her to get a hint if she needed when it came to her own Pokemon if it had come down to it. But the message was clear, and perhaps the poor guy had endured enough for-

"Rogg! Rogg. Roggen Rolla. Rolla Roggen-Rolla."

...Never mind, he seemed a little less than pebbling himself this time. But...why? On top of that, he was gesturing with his head fin to the Pokeballs at her waist that held her other Pokemon. Apparently it was enough chatter to even get Scrapper, who had been hiding behind her legs at this point and watching the scene, to poke his litle trash bag head out curiously and catch the eye of the Roggenrola.

"Trub?"

"Rog. Rolla?"

"Bish! Trub Trub. Biiiiiish bish. Trub."

The Trubbish then pointed at the Pokeball holding a certain murder bunny, before the two then stared back at her. They stared as if she would understand, but it didn't take a genius to get the idea either. That had been her idea already for the situation, aside from maybe putting Pyrite back up, but on top of that....she felt Nils was also right in that these two Igglybuff might not be the only ones here either. From what she'd read up, Pokemon could form larger social groups in some cases, and in this case the place seemed too big for just two of these to be mulling about.

Nils took another step and splayed his hands open in front of him. "Hey, hey, can't you two see you're scaring him?" he said. He was talking to the Igglybuffs, but he did glance over to meet the punk's eyes once before looking back at the pokemon. "Why don't you play with us instead?"
Nils

Setting down Pyrite, who with a gesture motioned for Scrapper to step out from behind his trainer's legs, Clarissa grabbed up a certain Pokeball and let it open up in her hand, releasing a certain Buneary out onto the field of probable battle in front of her. In turn, the unleashed Sir Lopsalot would take a glance at the situation, look at Nils to the side, then baack at the two other Pokemon now standing on each side of their trianer's side, and then back at Clarissa. Silently she nodded. That was all he needed.

"BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN!"

A certain someone now seemed pumped up to issue an adamant declaration of battle to one of the two Igglybuff, roaring out with a mighty battle cry of challenging even as he flexed his two little arms with gusto. he then assumed a battle-ready stance on his part, ready to follow up with more after the little show of bravado. Little eyes took notice of the area's height, rocks walls, and so forth. Good. It hadn't been too long for him, in hindsight, but it felt like forever since he'd gotten a chance at a good fight! So this, this would do very nicely, especially with these two tormenting a poor, strange looking human already being a frustrating sight to his eyes.

"Lucky for you two I know a ton of games. We could even test your strength! What do you say?" he said, forcing a grin.
Nils

Clarissa likewise assumed a stance and stared back with determination in her eyes. She wasn't going to sit and leave Nils and this kid to some 'fate' or misery at the hands of kidnapping Igglybuff. Sir Lopsalot wouldn't, and it seemed Scrapper and Pyrite wouldn't hide away either right now. So....she had no excuse herself not to stand up as well!

"A game about strength sounds good right now. But....are these two 'Tuff' enough to step up and play?"

Archibald looked behind him when he heard some commotion going on and was surprised about what he saw. "Wowza! Congrats on the new team member, Audrey! That Yamper looks so cute and cool!" He excitedly said, looking at the Electric-type Pokémon with a wide, enthusiastic grin. "Hey, Bravos! Say hi to Audrey's new Pokémon!"

"Cheeeees..." Bravos meekly said, its body still jolting sometimes from its status condition. "Oh, uh... Right, I forgot about that part. Sorry friendo..." Archie bashfully patted his partner Pokémon's head.

He then turned to Audrey and to the man before them. "Audrey, please meet Mister... Sir. Mister Sir, please meet Audrey! We're going on an adventure to explore Evig and meet new kinds of Pokémon! We're gonna go and achieve our dreams too. Mine's being a hero just like Ma'am Adriane!" He excitedly and kinda loudly exclaimed, startling some of the Torchic. "Oops! Sorry!"

Archie then added. "Please help us, good sir! It would really mean a lot! We can also help out too!"

Chaos erupted in the alley. Camellia had landed a solid Absorb, Aurelia Rose’s Fairy Wind had swept through both ghostly dolls, and yet the Mimikyu retaliated with terrifying ferocity.

Valerian’s eyes widened as the larger one detached its tail like a club and lunged straight at Aurelia Rose with a Wood Hammer. “What do you mean it knows Wood Hammer at this level?!” he cried, voice cracking with indignation. “That’s cheating!”

Still, Aurelia Rose held firm, her wings buzzing frantically as she braced for impact. She squealed as the blow connected, her tiny body knocked back. With effort, she managed to get herself back up.

Valerian tried to keep calm, but inside, he was screaming. Aurelia Rose nearly got flattened, and If Amelia weren’t here, I’d be halfway to the afterlife already. This is my fault. This is all my fault. And yet… if I can catch one of them… It will make the suffering worth it.”

He was interrupted from his thoughts when Amelia spoke to him. He straightened his posture. “Of course, darling! Whittling down is what Aurelia Rose does best!” He snapped his fingers and pointed dramatically. “Aurelia Rose, Fairy Wind once more! Make it radiant! Camellia, give Phantump a Helping Hand!”

Now with the fighting bird added to her party, she reasonably decided to drop by one of the many Pokemon Centers that littered this big city. In fact, there was one right across the construction site that she had wandered into by completely accident. She entered the red roofed building with a big standard Pokeball hologram floating above the sliding glass doors and found herself in a lobby for a comfortable cafe or motel, filled with friendly and comfortable furniture that trainers of all skill levels were welcomed. One would have imagined it to be much more sterile as it was a place to heal Pokemon, but it was so much more than that.

There was a dining area on one side and near the back of the building were accommodations for any trainer needing to rest their weary head and have a bath because Arceus above some of you are going to need it big time. Of course, there was a section where various PCs were lined up ready to be used to withdraw and deposit Pokemon to and fro their designated storage space. In your case, Kapoc's lab and in that wide open space where Vivian had received Atlas.

Of course, there was the all important Nurse Joy standing at her station with her ever pleasant smile, ever present in every Pokemon Center across Evig. Was it the same Nurse Joy or a different one? Don't ask questions you don't want to know the answer to.

Next to the Nurse Joy station was another counter top that just had a sign that said Move Tutors returning soon!

Approaching the station, Nurse Joy gave her an upbeat smile and said, "Welcome! May I heal your Pokemon today?"

Of course, Vivian was there to heal his Pokemon. Once the Nurse Joy collected her Pokemon while in their Pokeballs and slotted them into a machine.

Nurse Joy handed her Pokemon back."Thank you and stay safe!"

Well, with that she was once again ready to set off to Route 4 and there was absolutely nothing going to stop her...! This time at least.

She would see the city life of people and Pokemon going about their day, loud and ever bustling, but the closer she was to the city limits the activity lessened. The buildings also started to become smaller, more suburban until even these mundane homes disappeared too. The air became cleaner over time, free from the fumes and exhaust of vehicles. It was not long until she reached the official end of the city limits and stepped on a dirt path.

@Lunarlord34

"Ah, sorry I'm not really much of a breeder so I wouldn't really have a spare on me." Jean said as he rubbed the back of his head. He seemed quite surprised that Steph dropped the good professor's name casually."Kapoc? You mean the region's Pokemon Professor? I heard he doesn't actually deal with people unless he deems you're worth his time. You have some friends in high places." The older trainer seemed quite impressed with the Bogan.

"I'm not actually from Evig so I wouldn't know where in the region you can find them, but what I can tell you is the environments they actually like. The Beldum line typically prefers snowy, cold locations so if you want to find one I suspect you will want to head north. As for Deinos, they make caves their homes and I am not talking about normal ones either. I mean you will have to go deep into some inhospitable environment to find one and that's probably the easy part. I heard rumors that not even the Dragon-type gym leader dares to raise one."

However, her next question was the most surprising one. Jean looked at her with a brown arched inquisitively. "I mean, I know there's nothing good about them, but they're long gone now." Jean looked bothered that he couldn't give her a proper answer and then said, "Well, since I couldn't really answer your question here's a freebie; there's an old guy around the harbor that knows where to fish up rare Pokemon though he keeps complaining about that the youth don't care for the art of fishing. Definitely said it with a lot of sputter in my face. Maybe you'll have better luck than me? Oh and some girl is looking for her Snubbull so maybe keep an eye out for it?"

Well, what does Steph do now?

Also don't forget Freya is still here.

@Zarkun

The Riolu looked up at Jason, then at Slayer, and then back at Jason. The distrustful little creature squinted at him to try and see if he was having it on though once again it could see as plain as day that Jason was as honest as he ever was. However, rather than taking the boy's hand it just folded its arms and huffed slightly while eyeing Slayer's Pokeball on Jason's belt. "Olu." It said or more accurately commanded, pointing at the Pokeball and then to itself in a way that even Jason who cannot understand Pokemon would understand.

The old lady giggled at the Riolu. "Baby steps, but I think you know what to do now." She said to Jason with a warm smile. Totally not the GM just trying to move things along since this has been a long encounter.

So, the only thing left to do was to actually 'catch' the Riolu. So, if Jason grabbed a Pokeball from his backpack or wherever he was storing them, all he would need to do was to just press it against the blue fox and let it be absorbed into it.

It shook once...

It shook twice...

It shook thrice...!

"That has settled at least. Say, you have three Pokemon now so if you want you could take on the Pokemon Trainer School's challenge. I was actually just heading up there to surprise my granddaughter. She took over for me recently after I retired as a teacher so you could tag along if you want. Or don't. Don't let an old hag dictate your day."

What does Jason do?

@baraquiel@GremlinAgain

This Ursaring of a man just stared at them, casting his shadow over them as if some stone obelisk caught the rays of the sun. Popping from behind said obelisk was a woman, a very, very short woman that stood about 4'6 with long braided red hair dressed as if she was ready to shovel hay or copious amounts of manure. She gave off a very warm, comforting feeling, something that felt very much like home.

"Honey, what are you doing?" Asked the woman, who was fair to assume was this man's wife. She had to physically crane her neck to look up at her husband.

He had to look directly down at his wife and his expression softened somewhat. "Oh, these kids just came here asking if we could heal their Pokemon. You think we can spare the time?"

The woman looked at Audrey and Archie as if she just clocked their presence for the first time and, well, noticed that they looked stiffer than cadavers. She exclaimed, "Of course we can help them! Honey what have I told you? You need to emote a bit more otherwise you're gonna scare these kids to death! Aye it's a wonder how we raised three daughters without giving them a fright." She turned her attention back to the kids and smiled warmly at them. "Let me introduce ourselves. I'm Frida Anderson and this is my husband, Neil."

She motioned with her hand at her husband who nodded stoically. "Pleasure to meet you two. Sorry, but I've got to get back to work. My wife will take care of you." He walked past the two with his lumbering frame off towards the pens with the Miltank and Tauros.

Frida sighed at Neil's lack of social skills. "Sorry about my husband. He's actually a massive softie, but you wouldn't know it when he looks like he's gonna bundle you up like a bale of hay. Well, things have been tense so I can't really blame him. We have been having problems with the ranch recently." She had a look of realization that perhaps she should not be spilling personal business to random kids. She smiled and made a waving motion as if to tell them to forget what she just said. "Oh, nothing to worry your heads over! Come in, come in!"

She turned around and motioned with her hand to follow her to their home. It was actually a surprisingly large farm style house with a luxuriously large wooden deck decorated with wooden chairs with soft cushions of high quality as well as various other bits of outdoor furniture. In fact, the house itself looked superbly well maintained and definitely did not look like it was anything that came cheaply. It was clear that these were very successful farmers or at the very least there was some wealth inherited from before.

Frida happily chimed "You know my second eldest just became a trainer too! An assistant to Professor Kapoc no less! Oh we're so proud of her, but she's still lingering around here. Probably out along the route with her little sister. I just wish she'd get a kick in the seat of her pants to just be a bit more motivated."

They were through her home and perhaps they would notice that the decor was very modern and yet still had an edge to it with exposed red brick walls in certain areas, dark wooden beams across the ceiling, and sliding wooden barn doors. Eventually, they would arrive in what appeared to be the kitchen and dining area. The most noticeable thing about the room was that one wall was just a massive glass panel that looked over his property.

"Alright, let's see those darlings of yours!" Frida said with a great big grin.

@Typical

"Woooow, great observational skills. It's almost as if we look like we shouldn't be here and that this is a waste of our time!" Profusely complained the red head, his arms were stretched over two seats as his feet were sitting on top of the seat in front of him. The boy groaned, throwing his head back against the cushion. "This is such bullshit!"

The flashy pink haired boy scowled at the whiner. "Hey no need to be rude! You can never polish fundamentals enough!" He heaved a sigh and looked back at Claris though a smile returned to his face. A forced one, but a very well trained smile. "But you are right! We're just sitting in today because we were told that there was a lot to get out of this by his big sister. I figured it would be worth listening to, given she's such a big shot and all."

The red head interjected quite angrily. "Because you dragged us here. You didn't have to listen to my sister all the time! Seriously, we should have left the city by now!"

"I, uh, don't particularly mind doing this actually." The more plain boy nervously said.

"No one cares what you think." The mean spirited boy said plainly.

The flashy boy shot him a look before turning his attention back to Claris. "I'm Elias, the jerk is Hugo, and that's Lars over there. We actually became trainers recently and not to brag, but we work for Professor Kapoc. We're all going to take on the League."

Hugo guffawed and with a cocky grin said, "Oh please, I'm taking it on because I already know I'm the top dog. I just need to get a real team and I'll be set to steamroll the League."

How does Claris respond?

@Azure Bubbles@Joshua Tamashii

The Mimikyu that was going after Amelia's Phantump was struck in the face with a Sucker Punch, dealing a hefty chunk of neutral damage though it retaliated with an Astonishing cry, dealing super effective damage though it's Astonish. It really only dealt about the same amount of damage that Phantump's Sucker Punch.

Meanwhile, while Aurelia Rose received a heavy chunk damage despite being not very effective damage it was plain to see that the Mimikyu that hit it with Wood Hammer was not immune to the strength of its own attack; its shadowy arm was twitching from the pain it suffered the attack's recoil. However, Valerian was not deterred even though his beloved starter was nearly turned into a sparkly pancake. Instead, the Cutiefly kicked up a gust of glittery wind that slammed against them for minimal spread damage though it was enough to keep them preoccupied.

Camelia offered a Helping Hand though how she did it was really confusing. Did she use her nubs to clap together or did she cheer on for the Phantump? Either way, a blue jolt of energy shot from the grass-type to the ghostly stump and empowered its Astonish attack. The little ghost's shocking cry carried more oomph, more drama, and surprise as it pushed back the Mimikyu with voice alone. The Mimikyu tried to retaliate, but the surprise factor of the cry made it flinch.

The Mimikyu looked at each other and nodded at each other. The bigger one's shadowy hands grabbed its tiny companion and with a glint in their eyes, the bigger one threw its friend straight towards Aurelia Rose and its fast ball special friend detached the tail from its costume to use it as a club for Wood Hammer as a desperation attempt.

How do Amelia and Valerian react?

@Crusader Lord@Shazamrock

The two Igglybuff looked at the source of noise behind them. They both turned to look at Nils and Clarissa with their bulbous blue eyes and a single word really got their attention: play. Their pupils dilated like sharks that smelled blood in the water and then turned to look at each other and then back at the two uninvited trainers.

"Igglybuff!" They both chanted happily in unison, their feathery ornaments bobbed as they jumped up and down with joy. They were getting bored with playing with this human that was just screaming for some reason.

The two fiery puffballs focused their attention away from the punk that they were tormenting and waited with baited breath to see who their opponents would be for their 'test of strength' as Nils enticingly put it. They both looked at their new playmates: a cute little Mudbray and a poisoned Buneary that looked like it was raring to throw a punch or two with its muscly ears.

Clarissa's comment got them all fired up! They furrowed their brows with a big inhalation of air they puffed up and then shouted their declaration of challenge! "Igglybuff!"

The Fire Puffs challenge you to battle!

With another big inhalation of air, they swelled up and then shouted,"Igglybuff!" again though this time was different. They could see the sound waves ripple through the air as they both used Echoed Voice at the same time, but uh, this looked different. It sort of looked like the sound was... on fire? The distortions in the air were crackling with flame as they headed straight towards Tors and Sir Lopsalot.

How do they react?

It worked, or maybe it was always planning on going upstairs? Either way, the Magnemite went the way she wanted - up. Either way could lead outside, really, but this was less conspicuous.

The trainer and her dino raced through the door and up the stairs after the metal ball pokemon. Regan took a moment to look up at all the stairs ahead of them and, with an internal groan, she returned Kaebe and continued the pursuit herself. No need for them both to expend stamina.

The aspiring ranger caught the door to the roof and burst through after Magnemite. Regan was certainly in shape, but stairs were still stairs. She panted and rested against the doorway with her arm, giving herself just a moment to breathe, “hweh.. haah.. Magne.. nemite, your meals.. heehh.. are disrupting the people that.. live here, buddy. The building.. hwuh.. can’t support your appetite.” She stepped out from the doorway, but not far, picking an empty ball from her belt, “aren’t you supposed to live in a.. cave or a.. power plant or something? You’d probably like a power plant, yeah? There ought to be one, for a city this size. I’ll take you there, if you’ll let me. To whatever power plant I can find.”

Claris

Claris didn’t react to the bickering, watching it play out with the same steady calm she might apply to an unfamiliar terrain. The redhead was all fire and friction, more interested in hearing himself talk than what anyone else had to say. The quiet one—Lars—fidgeted when dismissed, but hadn’t looked surprised. Elias, at least, could manage a passable smile, even if it was all polish and projection.

“Claris.” She gave them the name without ceremony, still standing. “Kapoc assigned me as well.”

She glanced at the arena, then back at the group. “Your sister,” she said, tone even. “Is she faculty here, or League-affiliated?”

A breath later, she nodded toward the arena. “And do you know which trainer’s up next?”

Audrey was sorta in awe of how TALL the guy was. But she set her eyes on the girl, shorter then her... Very short indeed. But Audrey has to respect her! Shes older afterall. Audrey stepped into the farm as she noticed she was just infront of the door, it was pretty nice-looking. Frida Anderson, nice name. Audrey slowly nodded and noticed how much Pokémon was in the farm. She didn't know if they were wild or caught, but it was cool either way! Seeing the man, Mr...Anderson? Mr Neil? Whatever, walk away.

"Well, things have been tense so I can't really blame him. We have been having problems with the ranch recently

. . . That line, problems? Audrey was very much intrigued, if they were so kind to help, shouldn't she aswell? But, she understood that if Frida didn't want her to...then she shouldn't. Audrey gave a little look to Archie, trying to see if he's thinking the same thing. I hope he understands, if not...whatever. Quickly, Audrey realized Frida was gesturing at them to follow her to her house. And of course, Audrey complied, "Just a few more minutes, okay guys..? she mumbled to Comet, and Rift inside the Pokéballing hoping he'd hear it.

The house was stunning! Not anything Audrey would expect from farmers, it seemed so luxurious, she couldn't tell if they were born to rich parents or perhaps they were extremely succesful, if they were, she should've totally known about them! When Frida mentioned her second eldest being a trainer, Audrey was definitely listening, and assistant to the professor? Impressive! "Wow, that must be so nice. You must be, like, really proud!" she smiled. Walking from room to room, Audrey felt as if she was in a mansion, not somewhere near a farm. Well, it had some aspects, so not really. Reaching the kitchen she was very much excited to get her Pokèmon healed,

"Alright, let's see those darlings of yours!"

Audrey smiled before showing Frida her yamper, "This...is Comet! He's injured after I caught him..." there sat the yamper who was staring out into space. And Audrey pulled out a Pokéball, releasing Rift from it. Who limped slightly with paralysis and some injuries, wincing slightly. "And this is Rift, my zorua.. He's paralyzed after I fought Comet..." she laughed nervously.

Compared to her husband, Frida was a warm ray of sunshine after a cold snowy day. Archie let out a breath he didn't know he was holding when Neil left. He would be lying when he said the big man didn't scare him, but he never really saw anyone that looked like him in his life. It's true what his parent said about meeting people of all kinds on his adventure. He's already stoked to see who he'll meet next!

"Your daughter's a Trainer too? That's so cool! I hope we can meet her some time. Oh and thanks for inviting us in, Mrs. Anderson!" Archie said as he and Audrey were invited into their home. It was definitely far from what he had in mind. He was fed with stereotypes especially when he would see his parents working with their theater group to come up with props and costumes for plays, and they always depicted farmers as poor and really rural. He was glad he thought wrong.

He was too busy admiring the interior that when Audrey looked at him, he thought she was doing the same. He did pick up on how worried Frida looked when mentioning troubles for the farm, but she then offered to take a look at their Pokémon.

"And this is my partner, Bravos!" The green-haired lad introduced his Chespin after Audrey's turn. [B]"Che-e-e..." Bravos groaned like a broken record, its body jolting from the paralysis. "We were training when a Yamper managed to paralyze Bravos. He's been like this since the past few minutes, me thinks." He added, patting his poor Pokémon's head.

"Oh, did you mention you were having farm troubles, Mrs. Anderson? How can we help ya?"" He asked enthusiastically.
