Character Description
- Name: Nerinai Venetesh ('Neri' to her friends).
Species: Dhasath
Sex: Female
Age: 27
Reason for being on the ship: Believed to be with the ‘Arisatian Legion'. Is in fact a Sewer Maintenance Supervisor.
Appearance: A 5'6'' tall dhasath with dark brown hair which she usually wears in a messy ponytail and large, brown eyes. She is relatively slim and physically fit, weighing in at about 125lb. She has a pretty, oval face face and a straight, slender nose. Like most dhasath she has warm skin tones and tends to pick up a tan easily.

Strengths and Weaknesses
Skills: Reasonably good plumber. Is a scrappy fighter and (for her size) has a surprisingly nasty left hook.
Weaknesses: Has no particular skill with weapons (beyond improvised melee weapons).
Background:
- Backstory: Nerinai Venetesh, or 'Neri' to her friends, is too young to remember when Kiellar Command still ruled their part of the galaxy. Born on the world of Arisatia, she has only known the Mazdhul Republic. She does, however, remember a time, when dhasath weren't the majority on the planet. With many of the kiellar leaving and the dhasath population booming, by the time she was an adult going out into the workforce (14 years old), they were.
Neri was the fifth of eight children, with four older brothers, one twin sister and two younger brothers. With mostly brothers, Neri learned how to throw a punch and kick (preferably aiming for a tender place that made sure her opponent stayed down after the first blow) and, as someone on the smaller side, learned to fight dirty.
Neri's father was an electrician, her mother a baker and none of their eight children pursued tertiary education, rather, each took on an apprenticeship to learn a trade. This was not to say that Neri, or her siblings were incapable of higher education, more that it never occured to any of them that this was a real option. Neri went into plumbing - something she turned out to be reasonably adept at.
On the eve of the Civil War, Neri had just taken up a position as a Supervisor with 'Felsinae Watercare' (the sanitation department for her local town) as a supervisor. When war came to the planet, Felsinae was one of the areas that rose up against the Mazdhul Republic, though Neri didn't involve herself in it, having little interest in who ruled the planet ("who cares if I pay tax to another dhasath or some kiellar overlord? It's still the same tax.")
Unfortunately, due to its proximity to Republican Garrisons, Felsinae was rapidly cut off from Legion controlled cities and the Legion Generals did not see the city as strategically important enough to prioritise its relief. The siege dragged on for months. Food and water became increasingly scarce. Neri, unexpectedly, found that her job had become quite important in ensuring disease didn't spread through the population. The sewers also became a place where Legion fighters could move about undetected, safe from air raids and shelling.
While Neri didn't really register that this might be a problem for her, it turned out to be a very big problem when Republican troops entered the sewer system to try to flush the Legion out. Neri was promptly arrested on suspicion of being a Legion trooper who had discarded her uniform ("You don't look like a Sanitation Worker to me") and without anything resembling a trial (in true Kiellar fashion), she was loaded onto a prison transport, destined for hard labour.
