I keep forgetting to mention some stuff, so I'll do it now that I won't be double posting.
-RP's gunna start at the end of next week, on the 18-19th.
-I'll be adding more NPCs to the character tab. Some will be new, some will be returning like the cat girl I added.
-Watchers are 100% meta and have no real effect on how the horrors regard your characters in story. Heiphorion and Bicoradoon might seem similar to Aigorost in that they do nothing, but that won't be the case in SoM. Their gimmicks just aren't compatible with a short form RP like this. Heiphorion makes it easier for brooding loners to be brooding loners and Bicoradoon wants to see your character go out in a blaze of glory.
Interesting. Nina will be naturally inclined to broodmax if other players don't engage with her, but if people like her I might change her watcher to Aigorost for SoM if that's acceptable.
I also nominally picked Maverick Alternative because it seemed like the least popular choice from the last thread, but my half-baked idea is that it's still early enough that she can be convinced by other factions if all the newcomers decide to go Maverick this time, only the GEMINI players really want her, or some other interesting thing happens with the freelancers. The image I originally had in mind for her mundane form was much more Maverick-appropriate, so there's a noticeable sidestep of continuity there in her CS, but that aesthetic had a lot of overlap with Cirilla and I felt like bucking the female water mage stereotype of showing midriff. I really like her new image, but I can be swayed if it's really important for her to look a certain way.
@Emeth Watchers are pretty easy to swap between, so that sounds fine by me. And it's not like a watcher will ever lock you hard into doing something. It just tends to provide incentives for certain play styles. If you intend for Nina to be hard to get along with, you might find it thematic that her watcher prevents her from reaching her full potential when trying to work with others.
There's no issue with the sheet, 'twas but a meme. Tacticool uniforms tend to be seen as a GEMINI aesthetic but there are always outliers. Mika looks like an Arabian dancer when transformed despite being GEMINI. Nina was a freelancer and dances to her own tune so it makes sense that she wouldn't look like the metalheads/cyberpunks of Maverick Alternative.

TRIVIA:
Scypho doesn’t speak much about her past or her origins, she keeps most personal information to herself. Even those that have known her in the past still know very little about her since she has arrived in Pax Septimus. She finds it hard to trust or get close to those around her until they have proven themselves worthy of her respect. She doesn’t have patience for fools and those who she judges as unworthy usually remain classified as such from that point on. Very rarely does someone who she judges unworthy rise themselves to a more esteemed status under her purvey. However if one has proven themselves worthy of her respect she is very loyal and protective and willing to assist them in even the most challenging or dangerous of circumstances. Scypho also claims herself a member of the Saints of Tempesta, an unofficial organization of which very little is known as she only shares information about it with those that gain her esteem. What is known is Scypho appears to be its creator and sole representative. She also has knowledge of Oros the Greedy and views Himiko Yoshikawa in a negative light for an unknown transgression of which she shows little interest in forgiving. Whether it has something to do with her status as Oros, her being a servant of Aigorost or some other factor, Scypho refuses to work alongside her in any capacity. What is known is that she has a great affinity for the sea and jellyfish in particular, designing, naming and basing most of her repertoire around this interest. This seems to have rubbed off on her personality which is much like a jellyfish sting, with most finding it difficult to try to make friends with her. Her second favorite interest other than the sea is outer space and the cosmos, finding the view of a starry night sky on the reflection of water to be one of the most beautiful sights to behold. She also is likely one of the few that feels right at home in the current beach based world created by Daggernose Dan and does not mind the current changes even if they eliminate her ability to fight. Scypho doesn't mind taking a non-violent route to get to her goals, but if violence is called for she shows little to no hesitation if the situation requires it.
Scypho started out her career as a freelancer but didn't feel like the work was meaningful enough. She didn't care about the money, the glory or the flexibility that could come from being able to work for the various sides of Pax Septimus. Though she came to the realization that what she was doing as a free lancer often went against or undid things she had previously done. Realizing that when she took jobs from GEMINI they often effected things she had done previously for Maverick and vice versa. With that realization Scypho decided she wanted something more in life, a purpose and means to build upon a continuous goal. This was when she latched on with Maverick and made the decision to further its goals alone. She hadn't been sure at first who to join, but she felt much more at home amongst the members of Maverick she had worked with previously. It also helped that her style, interests and powers all seemed to fit much better with them then anyone else. Scypho couldn't imagine surviving day to day life as a member of GEMINI, with the more uniformity and the prim and properness that they seemed to uphold and exude. Even so, Scypho doesn't hold any grudge or hatred towards GEMINI, having the willingness to work with them if it furthers Maverick's mission.
Your genre doesn't have the max MP listed next to capacity, which should be (30). You also have 5 notes at the three casting levels when you should only have 3. Increase your capacity (while reducing an other attribute or two) or lower the number of notes you have.
You've shorted yourself 20 credits. Redistribute a grade of wealth onto something else or buy 20 credits worth of items.
I don't typically like Aigorost name drops in backstories (or any horror really) but Himiko does seem like the only person other than Oros the Mad that might ramble about a patron she's never met before. Nothing needs to be changed, just commenting.
Also what's "Squisy"? I noticed you underlined those letters and I can't make heads or tails of it. Also you have a strike through a random "h" for some reason. Squishy? I dunno, seems kinda silly.
Take care of that and we'll see about getting you approved.
I probably missed / messed up something, but we'll see. Better to get feedback, so here she is.
NAME:
Marrie Knight (Gale (sometimes))
AGE:
19
SEX:
Female
APPEARANCE:
Marrie stands at 5 foot 6 inches, though with her slouch she appears slightly shorter, with a toned but not overly muscled physique. Her black hair is almost always styled into twin-tails but would go to her shoulder blades if left down. Her eyes are brown and, until moving to Pax, usually partially closed in boredom. She has no scars or blemishes on her, except for a small brown splotch of skin on her right hip, a birthmark. She is usually seen wearing headphones around her neck if not on her ears.
Marrie's esper form changes her hair to blue and her eyes to an aqua color. She gains a blue track shirt and black skirt, as well as black stockings. Unlike her normal form, in this form she gains headphones that can't be removed, (and luckily do not hinder her hearing) and small markings in blue on her cheeks. Her birthmark disappears when in this form.
Entirely non-symbolic: The Ocean's Floor is Calling:
GRIMOIRE:
NAME: Summit - An azure shark tooth necklace. The shark tooth is serrated on the inner side.
INSTRUMENT:
NAME: Apotheotic Predator, Fenrir (Emerald) - In the simplest terms, a dagger attached to a retractable/extendable chain. WEAPON: Dagger, Chain DAMAGE: D (Physical) SPEED: S RANGE: B FEATURES: (TBA)
A large knife with an 8 inch blade and a 4 inch grip. The blade shines with polished luster. The hilt is simply an extension of the blade; the entire thing seems to be made of a single piece of metal that was carved into a dagger shape as if it were from a piece of wood. The handle has small bumps on the sides that the palm touch that are not unlike those used for braille, though they are seemingly randomly placed. The front and back of the hilt are curved to better fit in a person's hand, and have small indents where the wielder's fingers would rest. The back of the blade is covered in smaller "blades," each is half of a right angle triangle of metal that has a bottom that is flat and sharpened, making a row of teeth that point their fangs towards the tip. These look not unlike shark fins, facing upwards. The top of the front of the blade is slightly serrated, and the blade curves inwards slightly just before reaching the guard, before curving back out into it. The guard is much duller than the rest of the knife, though it seems to be made from the same piece of metal as the rest. It extends 1.5 inches from the grip and curves slightly down towards the hand on the front and up towards the blade on the back. There is a marking of a moon engraved on the right side and a marking of the sun engraved on the left side of the guard. At the bottom of the hilt is a small ring, about 1.25 inches in diameter that spins independently of the rest of the knife, the only part that isn't from the same piece of material.
Marrie's Instrument has evolved a long string of tiny chains that are extremely dull metal and run from the pommel ring to a ring on Marrie's right middle finger. This ring is also connected to a bracelet that's tightly fit around her right wrist which a second chain connects past her fingers to the first chain. While the chains that connect to the dagger are incredibly dull in luster, the chain between her bracelet and ring is just as brilliant as the dagger's blade. The chains can retract to bind themselves around the bracelet in order to pull the dagger back to Marrie, or extend to a maximum length of 16.5 feet (three times her height) to be used as a ranged weapon. The weapon's retraction and extension is very fast when going to it's minimum and maximum lengths, and slightly slower to get to in-between lengths. The chains, while having very small links, are as sturdy as the rest of the Esper's weapon.
SUMMERTIME OUTFIT: Fenrir's beating the heat by being as cold as Hel; a Popsicle with a long cord (tied through a hole in the overly large Popsicle stick) attached to a life-jacket on Marrie's torso. (when transformed) (not shown in image)

TRIVIA:
Marrie affectionally refers to herself as a "computer artist," though her meaning behind this is somewhat different than the common meaning. Fresh out of highschool, she found herself chasing both her dreams concurrently: programming and art of every kind. Even the makings of computers fascinate her, though not as much as the software that they run. She is a master of drawing with a mouse, though she's far better with a stylus or a pen, and her typing speed is around 65 wpm which, considering that she often overwrites her fiction and code alike, is a perfect fit. She tends towards comics and manga, liking that she can both write and draw for the medium rather than having to choose one or the other, and especially towards stories heavily involving high-tech. She's also highly interested, though not at all trained, in music to the point that she is almost always listening to some song or another on her headphones, even when it's not appropriate to do so.
Having grown up in the capitol of her state, Marrie is no stranger to cities, but lived her life introvertedly until recently so she has few social skills. It was on a trip to Myrtle Beach, SC that her confidence began growing. A popular vacation spot, she was dragged along by her single mother to the coast of the Atlantic Ocean where she bought a necklace that she thought was among the coolest she'd ever seen. And it was, in fact, the coolest necklace she'd ever seen because it turned out to be a grimoire. An azure shark tooth, in her hands it became an exquisite knife and the instrument of her change in form and, more subtly and over a longer period of time, her personality as well. This acquisition was only last year as the trip was to celebrate her soon-to-be graduation. It was this not so simple event that broke her from her shell and gave her the mindset to live on her own. Unfortunately, she was in no financial position to do so, given that she'd never had a job and her mother was barely making enough for them to get by together with decent living conditions.
It was a chance encounter back near her home when she was practicing her esper powers that gave her a chance to really grow. She had been testing her flight note when she was approached by a fellow esper who, after a long conversation, informed her about Shimr. From there it was a simple matter of following the money that led to her moving to Pax Septimus around a week ago.
Marrie believes that there are monsters who are good and monsters who are bad, but that both GEMINI and the Mavericks are simultaneously correct and incorrect. She believes that there should be an agreement between humanity and monster-kind that works best for both groups, but she doesn't quite know what that would entail. It's not right to sacrifice anyone, human or monster, who isn't a threat for the sake of anyone else. This simple idea means that GEMINI is not correct to destroy all monsters, nor is Maverick correct to tribute some humans for immediate results.
"I have no enemies." "Oh shit, there's so many enemies here!"
@The World I hadn't realized our cast was so socially awkward.
Her backstory might need to be updated a little, since I'm sure she's been in Pax for more than a week by now. But I'm not gunna stress over that for a returning character.
Marrie "Gale sometimes" Knight is looking good. She can *Gara Gura theme* her way to the Character tab.
Only slightly taller than the US's average at 5'10 (178cm), Roland is an Asian American with a fit body type under his simple and stylish clothing. His face still has a boyish look to it, topped by a mop of silver hair with a bit of an undercut. He's got a mouth of sharp teeth and bright golden eyes, a mole sitting just under the left one. He is pierced in both ears, his tongue, and one other place. Perpetually "thinking about getting a tattoo."
Even after transforming with a symbolic touch of his grimoire (because "it makes [him] feel more like a super hero"), Roland retains a lot of the features of his true body. His hair, skin, and eyes all remain the same color, his teeth are just as mysteriously sharp, but he does shrink about two inches (~5cm). His hair also grows out to just brush the tops of his shoulders. He slims down in order to rock his esper form's battle suit, which is less a suit and more unitard and skirt with pieces of tech armor. The biggest difference, of course, is that his sex changes.
On a beach trip, one supposes that Roland's -or rather Jack's- appropriate attire would be something like this, minus the metal bits.

TRIVIA:
Born June 30, a Cancer
Easily won over by home cooked meals
Regularly loans his mom money
As the only child of the 'princess of partying' whom even his father was unable to tame, Roland's childhood in Pax Septimus was tumultuous to say the least. It was always a little unstable, a little dangerous, crowded with strange or familiar faces and filled with light, sound, and smoke. Rarely was it boring, especially after it was just gongzhu and shaoye - the facetious nicknames given to mother and son by the more friendly of the family's acquaintances. There is a fine line between a city's face and underbelly, and it was on that line that the two of them lived. Whenever one district of the ol' Pax started getting too sordid for even the princess to stomach, or the local landlord too dickish to tolerate, they just moved to the next place, drumming up funds to splurge on the next club crawl she'd drag her kid to (babysitting was expensive).
Though Roland wouldn't realize it until later, it was pretty lucky that the two of them never really ran afoul of either the city's organized crime or its monsters. There were a number of close calls to be sure, and his mother had definitely rubbed elbows with some of the former before, but for the most part they managed to slip through the cracks between both hope and despair. At least until that day, the coincidental meeting that would change the course of the shaoye's life.
By the time he'd made it to his rebellious early teenage years, Roland had come to appreciate those rare boring times that popped up every now and then. Peace and quiet was hard to come by living with his mother, and he was at the age where he would often go off on his own with a promise to meet back up again later, or the next day, or the one after that. At a failing cafe on a seedy street just after sun down where Roland was chilling for some of that temporary peace, the building next door exploded. Figuratively, but also sort of literally, as people spilled from its exits and the first floor was blown out, showering the area in glass, debris, and monster guts. Then, they appeared, strolling out of the ruined business like they didn't have a care in the world.
They disappeared just as quickly, and no matter where Roland looked he couldn't seem to find them. No one really believed the story when he recounted it either, besides some conspiracy theorists. Roland might have become one himself if he hadn't seen them again by complete chance a few months later, when a violent altercation broke out in a billiards parlor he happened to be in, convincing a man to bet his shiny belt buckle on the next game. The fight, orchestrated by a monster as Roland would come to learn, would have swiftly spiraled even more out of control if not for the timely arrival of an esper to quell the chaos. This time they did not get away without Roland confronting them. He was sixteen at the time, one of the few still conscious, a cut above his brow dribbling blood down his face. And he demanded to know what was going on and where those cool powers come from.
Maybe this esper took a liking to a spirited boy like Roland, or maybe the inactive grimoire clutched in his fist starting to awaken got their notice. Maybe it was another reason entirely that they relented and took Roland under their wing. As it turned out, 'boring' was not what Roland had actually been looking for - he'd just wanted a change. He eagerly left his mother to her own vices to travel with the esper, spending almost all his time with his new master as he learned their trade and traveled the east coast. They were a strict teacher, but this lifestyle better suited Roland than just letting himself drift along with his birth city's flow... even if his louche upbringing was still very much present in his personality, he definitely had changed for the better. After five years away he returns to Pax Septimus as an esper himself, hoping to be truly acknowledged by the person he admires so much who he recently split up from. Due to the spell affecting the city, he's sure his homecoming will be an interesting one.
Roland can be moved to the Character Tab and get this party started.
In case anyone was wondering, the trick weapon was discussed with me in PMs, and will be possible when the feature system goes live. Normally an esper can't have a transforming weapon or one that does two different damage types.
EDIT: Actually, it was brought to my attention that you have double-cast listed as a note. You do not need to list double-cast to use it, it's simply yours if you meet the requirements. So you can swap that out for something else. Given that you have a few notes that would be good to cast on yourself, might I suggest Backfeed? If they are going to cast a melody on an enemy and then themselves, it's a less expensive option than double cast.
With the first GM post just a day or two away, I should probably bring up "proper banner etiquette."
Your banner can be as complex or as simple as you like, but traditionally we've posted a "stat block" under the banner in a hider that keeps track of relevant information that you don't want showing up in the body of a post. Things like your max and current MP, the formula for any melodies you're casting, and things of that nature. In the past there was an attempt to put a condensed version of a character sheet under your banner, but 80% of the information is irrelevant or so condensed I needed to end up looking at the actual character sheet anyway.
For this RP with V2, I just need you to list the following information
-A link to your sheet (It makes navigation easier) -Max and current MP -Items from your Backup -Features relevant to your post (When Implemented) -Attributes relevant to any actions you may be taking (Purely Optional)
Bionca's Banner Stuff might look like this on a round where she uses a melody to pull a target.
Bionca Herrmann Max MP: 30 Current MP: 18 - 3 = 15 Casting:[Projectile] 0 + [Powerful (Potency raised to B, Efficiency lowered to F)] 1 + [Pull C (45 feet)] 2 = 3 Mana
Sorry, sorry, took too long but I found a temp to fill in for Finn!

> Once upon a time, there once was a magical girl. She wasn't the most popular one in the city she used to reside in, often kept to herself, was mostly relied on for killing high-prominence monsters and other threats. But it never bothered her. The other magical boys and girls she knew weren't exactly the best people to rely on. But she had her brother and her partner. As long as they were both by her side, she was able to remain hopeful that things could be better.
Of course that would never last. A major fight ended up with the boy she loved among those who were killed.
It sent her down a desperate path towards gaining enough power to bring him back. Even if she had to bleed for it, even if others had to bleed for it, even if it was against the laws the Grand Magistrates had laid out. Nothing mattered more to her than bringing him back. To hell with it all! But as Icarus flew too close to the sun, so too did she, and was casted out from her Reality Plenum as a result. Or was it a punishment?
Alice didn't know where she ended up. Or how long she had spent stumbling in the Elemental Chaos trying to find a way to get back home, back to her brother. As more time passed, the more her powers only grew. Until she ended up stumbling upon a certain Plenum that felt...familiar. She learned a forbidden truth then, one that no one should've ever learned. Who truely knew whether or not it drove Alice into madness. Sure, she felt disgust, sure, she felt horror, but most importantly?
She was free. She was free! She channeled that knowledge, her power, into becoming something so much more than she had ever been.
No longer was the defective Recon.
No longer was that useless Magical Girl.
There was simply the true Exodus of Time, the Herald of an End. Traversing across the Elemental Chaos to eliminate anomalies and other atrocities plaguing the timelines of Reality Plenums.
So whenever Dan Daggernose decided to turn the whole of Pax Septimus into a glorified tourist trap, it was time again for her to step in and do her job.
> Despite her having an upbeat and sadistic demeanor, Alice very much has the personality of an overworked buisness employee. She does not get paid enough for this shit.
> Alice has a sliiight vendetta towards any variation of the people she recognizes from her Reality Plenum. Keep her away from them if you don't want her going rogue.
> Occasionally enjoys a bit of whiskey now and again.
-I'm going to assume you're taking the Lunatic variant of Astoponio. You should note that only because there are 3 of them.
-Watchers aren't really espers. I'm keeping the sheets the same mostly because it makes things easier to manage, but she wouldn't have a true grimoire. It's fine for her to have the bolo. Normally travelers have a disguised and true form (similar to monster's in Ari's CYOA RP) but it's fine for Alice to function like a magical girl with her "true form" being her "transformation." She just isn't a true esper.
-Alice has 15 notes. At A Capacity, she can have 8 of each type or 24 total.
Make those changes and then Alice can traverse the omniverse and land in the character tab.
Yeah I was kinda confused at how many notes were needed since everyone else had different numbers, probably should've just asked you about it. I'll let you know when I made the proper edits to this poor intern rq. 👍👍

This sense of uncanniness is only further emphasized when in her Esper form, resembling an oversized Victorian porcelain doll: her limbs are jointed, and she has a complexion that is almost sickly in how pale it is.

It is unknown whether the being acting as a guardian and main weapon to Nukkelina is merely a mindless puppet controlled by near-invisible strings, or a sentient magical creature letting itself be guided by the Esper. TRIVIA:
In a times long past, Nukkelina was a normal girl with a normal life who liked to visit her uncle, who was a renowned carpenter who liked sculpting toys to sell for the children in the village. One day, she happened to find a puppet of his, stashed away in the attic: the puppet was cursed, and stole the girl’s “heart” before it ran away. Now feeling an emptiness inside, the magical curse had granted her the potential to obtain the power of an Esper. Now, she travels the earth, looking for the evil toy that had robbed her humanity.
Here's an update to my CS from before, and struggling with Genre like Notes and stuff. I have ideas to get Summon Minion/Elite, Craft for weapons or mods to Instrument, spiderman swinging with threads (Push/Pull I think), and possibly Transplace to swap between caster and Instrument, but hard to figure out how to put it all together.
I'm glad talking to the other players were able to help you along.
Nukkelina Is accepted. You can string her along to the character tab. Just be sure to change "Summon Minion Elite" to "Summon Elite" as the first one isn't a real note/confuses me.
After you're caught up, you can have her arrive in the Golden Trove's lobby with the other Mavericks.
I didn't have as much time to work on this as I'd like, but hopefully that gives you an idea of how things work. There isn't enough in there right now for everyone to get something unique, and most of what is there was to match old players or was put in because I knew a new character would want it. But remember that you can suggest something. Also I should mention that the idea of a system like this is that there will be some overlap. I don't think two espers having the "Diverse Elemental Affinity" feature is going to be a problem.
My advice is to suggest something you might want in very general terms and I'll work out how to make it fit with things mechanically. Drop an idea here, in the discord, you know where to reach me. Don't worry if it sounds OP or not, I'll tune it into something that you can use. Probably.
Things aren't too frantic right now (in story) so with any luck we'll get everyone squared away in a week or two.
In case anyone's wondering when perks are going to drop, they aren't. Perks pertain to long term goals and aren't going to have an effect or be relevant over the course of this RP. As an example, if your character is performing research on something, perks would be how you track your milestones towards your eventual goal and, if it's not too stupid, shape the future of the RP. Stupid ideas shape the future of the RP too, just in a way that's less good for your characters, but hilarious for me.
