Pokemon Go utterly misses the point of Pokemon in several glaring ways that nobody is willing to address because hey, it's Pokemon, we all love that, right?

Let's address the fact that, unlike with any other pokemon game, you have ZERO incentive to bond with your pokemon at all. You'll likely just be crushing them down into a candy anyway. You move through them. They aren't your partners or friends, they are just what you're using for now until you can trade it out for something stronger.

I also don't like how they gutted the combat system simply to make it quicker to play while people are on the go. It doesn't feel like a pokemon battle, imo.

I'm glad people are enjoying the game, but I have no desire to play it. To me, it kinda looks like what you'd get if you licensed Pokemon out to a mobile company who didn't really understand the game or the fantasy of being a pokemon trainer. It has official pokemon in it, but none of what made pokemon a fun game for me is left in there anymore. More than ever, it's just a game about fantasy cockfighting, but now it feels like the heart, the thing that made it more than a game about enslaving animals and forcing them to fight to the death, is gone.

Overwatch is good, but it should cost only 30 bucks and is nothing new or special, and doesn't deserve any kind of rabid fanboy/girlism. The characters aren't that interesting either.

men's rights is less about the actual rights of men and more about hating feminism, no matter what anyone says. if it was actually about men's rights, they'd care a lot more about lgbt men, men of color, disabled men, etc. instead all they care about is whining about how the evil women are keeping them down.

@POOHEAD189 It costs 40 which seems fair given that it's getting new features and such. Also a large reason why it's such a great game is because of how well designed it is. Like on levels that most people don't think about, like UI, sound, and functionality.

@POOHEAD189 Battleborn never should have been compared to Overwatch because the two are not really comparable outside of "both have a roster of different colorful characters" and Randy Pitchford is an idiot for wanting to compete. Battleborn is like Borderlands and SMITE while Overwatch is not and has taken influence from old CPFPS games like Quake and UT and its mechanics and interface are way more user friendly for casuals and more competitive oriented people. It's not the deepest game but it succeeds wholeheartedly at what it set out to do and it's Blizzard actually doing something competent with its games which used to be common place. It's just an amazingly well polished and designed game.

And I play both battleborn and overwatch. Other than the 5-6 man teams, similar gameplay, 3-4 unique special attacks, similar designs....well...huh, I guess the main difference is that Overwatch uses checkpoints to win games and Battleborn has league of legends minions. And yeah, TF2 is also literally what Overwatch is in so many ways.
Don't get me wrong, I am enjoying Overwatch. I played some today before work and I'll play some tonight. But it's immensely overrated imo. It's a solid game, not an incredible one.

On a similar note, the dissatisfied players are more likely to voice their (negative) opinions than the people who are fine with the general state of things (it does not mean they think everything is perfect) and actually spend time playing said game instead of complaining all the time. Which means you'll get a typical case of 'vocal minority' and go into assumptions based on what you see more instead of how it actually is.

To make the case specific and a little more bitchy... No, you panicking idiots. LoL is nowhere near dead. Not because of what Riot's doing, not because of Overwatch, not because of anything. It's still, by far, the largest and most popular game in the world.

The visual and audio reinforcement and cues alone are above just 'competent' to me. Something as seemingly insignificant as the design on, say, Zenyatta's abilities having the 'plus' and 'minus' on the illustration of his orbs is a sign of great visual design. The way each character has distinct footsteps is great audio design. The way it presents information to the player without cluttering up the screen is great interface design. There are countless little touches that all come together to make everything just work. Overwatch is many things and it's not a game for everyone but it's an amazingly designed game. It's telling that the year of games so far has been defined by great improvements and modernization of older games, like DOOM, Stardew Valley, and, sure, Overwatch.

And I play both battleborn and overwatch. Saying Overwatch and Battleborn have similar gameplay is like saying Civilization and Starcraft have similar gameplay because they both fall under the strategy umbrella. Battleborn is a fundamentally different game and is lacking the polish and solid design that Overwatch has. Not to mention the player base. Battleborn is 2016's Evolve. Battleborn is literally a first person MOBA. Overwatch is a first person team based shooter. The similarities of both games having heroes and counters doesn't put them on the same track.

gender and sex are 2 completely different concepts. also en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third_gender.

they don't actually care about it though, that's the problem. they could give less of a shit about men, they just want a gotcha against feminism.

edit: also it wasn't just about that, race and sexuality play a huge part in feminism, as in giving rights to lgbt+ people and people of color, past just being able to vote and such, of course. just in general having the same rights of men, especially white men.
