Personality: Bubby, optimistic, and with a taste for success, Amelia is quite the firecracker. She's the one who gets you to face your fears--in a creative way, of course--and the one who tries every new food on the menu at her favorite restaurant. Her reasons for opening Café Crème are two-fold: first, she's got a knack for customer service and second, she needs the money. And no ordinary job would do for somebody as chipper as Amelia von Grado.
Background: Amelia, her mother says, came out of the womb kicking and screaming and generally being alive. Her twin brother, on the other hand, took his time. It was like that for most of their childhood--Amelia leading the way, and Minkyu following behind and getting distracted--and it wouldn't be until their high school years that Amelia would realize Minkyu was more than just a little brother with a different face.
Growing up in a multi-lingual, multi-cultural family had its ups and downs, but things were decidedly quiet in the von Grado household, one comprised of Amelia, Minkyu, their Korean mother, German father, and mature, tall, and already-in-college sister, Victoria. Amelia, always the adventurous one, aimed for high grades and planned out her perfect life, one filled with exotic travels and romances. But as she grew older, the family that she once thought was so unbreakable began to shift. Victoria left the house for a foreign lawyer job. Her parents aged, and her mother once again yearned for the familiarity of her home country, Korea.
And when Amelia discovered that Minkyu decided to skip college, she made the only choice she could--to stick with her twin brother, the one who stuck to her through everything. Now they're here, building Café Crème from scratch because Amelia can't be alone, and Minkyu needs, as she says, someone to look after him.
Color of Uniform: Deep Sky Blue
Other: While she works as a waitress primarily, many of the cakes and desserts in the display cases are made by her. Her favorite sweet is strawberry shortcake.

Name: Min-kyu von Grado
Job: Barista, Cook, and Co-owner
Personality: Minkyu can be described in one word: quiet. As a child, he never cried. Quiet. As a boy, he played with blades of grass and watched the clouds. Quiet. That's how he's always been, perfectly content with being quiet. Quietly he was born, and quietly he will go. Personally, he doesn't see it as a problem, and besides, it doesn't hurt to enjoy the silence.
Background: For as long as Minkyu can remember, he has lived in Amelia's shadow.
Perhaps it's just in his nature to get a little introspective at the differences between the two, since they are quite prominent for siblings born only a few minutes apart. There is Amelia, ever the friendly one, the social butterfly, and Minkyu, who takes after his soft-hearted mother rather than his globetrotter father. The difference is like night and day, and it always has been. When Amelia was aiming for the sky, Minkyu was learning how to grow things, working with his hands to create golden-brown loaves of bread and sugar-coated cookies.
Then The Move happened. Minkyu doesn't like thinking about it--Amelia cried and cried, even more than when Victoria left--but when their parents departed again for Korea, Minkyu thought that this was his chance to carve out his path. Do what he wants. Finally get out of Amelia's shadow, in a sense. Amelia was too set on her own future to follow them, so why would she follow him, right?
But then Amelia comes to him. And she says that this time, she's following him. In the face of that, what could Minkyu do but let her?
Color of Uniform: Sienna
Other: He can make a mean expresso. His favorite sweet is cannoli with sliced strawberries.
Personality: Being one of the younger employees at the café, Naomi sometimes feels a bit insecure in the midst of her skillful colleagues. She looks up to her co-workers who are experienced in making the prettiest pastries and most beautiful latte art. Even though it occasionally makes her feel helpless, she is keen to learn and strives to become just as good as them. Naomi can be a bit childish and whiny at times, but she is a persistent girl who gives things her all once she sets her mind to it.
In the café she plays the role of little sister, an act perfectly suited for her. The cat-like traits she shows are based on her pet Tama, a big, lazy cat who likes to doze off in the sun and loves to be petted. She will also refer to herself as Nyaomi.
Background: As an only child of two hard-working parents Naomi grew up without any hardships. Her parents would often spoil her with sweets, toys, and trips to the sea. They were not around much because of their long shifts, but made sure to spend any time they could spare with their little girl and make the most out of it.
During her early childhood Naomi’s parents often let their daughter stay over at her maternal grandmother, who resided in the rural parts just outside of the city Naomi and her parents lived in. It was here that the young girl developed her love for crafting, in particular origami. Her grandmother taught her the arts of folding paper into small, colorful animals and flowers. Although she does not practice it much anymore nowadays its influence is still present in her love for dainty decorations. The two quickly bonded and Naomi was never really looking forward to going home; although Naomi gets along well with her parents, they never really grew close because they were away so often.
Since Naomi did not have any siblings, she would often rely on others. She decided to take the job in the maid café to gain a sense of independence after instantly being drawn to the cute gimmick.
Color of Uniform: Soft orange
Primarily works as a waitress, but is an apprentice barista.
Has a slight preference over creamy- and chocolate cakes over fruit-based desserts.
Personality: March is a perfectionist. If he starts a task, he's going to finish it, and he's going to finish it well. He behaves almost fatherly to anyone younger than him, as he likes to take care of things/people. However, he's not exactly friendly, so he's often taken the wrong way (mostly as if he’s being bossy). He likes to whine and talk to himself when nobody else is around, but he's bad at conversation with anyone else. For him, actions always speak louder than words.
Background: March grew up as the oldest of 6. About 7 years ago, his father died, so he took it upon himself to take care of his siblings with his mother--the best on the whole wide world, he might add--so doing extra work became natural for him. They lived in small suburbs for a long while until recently, when they had to move into a smaller apartment. Once this happened, March began searching for a job to help support his family. After cooking for his siblings daily, he was confident in his skills as a chef. So, with much reluctance, he applied for the Catmaid cafe, despite his hatred of dressing up.
Age: 16 Gender: Female Job: Waitress Personality: Very shy and clumsy, but always tries to do her best! Can be quite hard on herself from time-to-time. Easy to overwhelm or embarrass. Background: Mari was born and raised in this town, and has a doll-like appearance. Her father recently lost his job and, though they insist she doesn't have to, she wants to do what she can to help out. She is coming to the cafe for an interview and a trial run, hoping to be able to work while she goes to school to be able to help ease her father's stress. She loves cats and cafes, so when this place opened she decided to apply. Color of Uniform: Yellow Other: She loves sweets! Especially cute ones!
Personality: Dae-hyun likes to think of himself as a cool, respected, oft-sought big brother. He isn’t, but he likes to think so. He is boisterous, playful, and maybe a little hard to handle because of it. Dae-hyun loves games, both video games and ones that are made up on the spot, such as how quickly he can rush through the dishes, how many cakes can he balance on one tray and how long can he hide in the utility closet trying to beat his high score on the newest handheld. There is a vain, shallow streak in him, bordering on narcissistic. He is very concerned with fashion and appearance, both of himself and others. Despite this, he is exceedingly friendly, and will give the time of day to anyone who asks. He also holds suspiciously high college grades…
Background: The youngest of his siblings, Dae-hyun was the ‘baby’ of the family. Expectations were high for his sister, and she met these with leaps and bounds, even after their mothers’ demise. Seeing his big sister secure a job in the military and step up to the post of keeping the family afloat, it greatly inspired young Dae-hyun. He studied, hard. Of course, this was balanced with days in the city, gregarious outings with friends and friends of friends, and a well nurtured social life.
Imagine the agony he felt when his sister forbid him from working in the military. When it came the time to decide on a degree or a career, he was all but pile-drove into the former option.
No matter. Dae-hyun had already foreseen this. He’d get his degree in Electrical Engineering, funded by some café work. He’d work his way in. Slowly, very slowly…
Colour of Uniform: Black
He needs glasses, but he never wears them, preferring contacts. He doesn’t want to look like a ‘nerd’.
Loves selfies, group selfies, food selfies, cat selfies, dog selfies, peace-selfies…
Had braces when he was younger. He considered it ‘dark times.’
Wants to dye his hair a ‘cool’ colour, but his family would kill him.
She's the one that always comes up with the wild ideas that only she is actually interested in pursuing, but, of course, never does because she knows they aren't the most safe or logical. She's not the type to stay still for long because she's too interested in discovering new things around her. But none of this shows when you first meet her, on the contrary, it's the exact opposite. She is timid to the point she seems cold, and if she isn't spoken to then she doesn't give her input or thoughts. But when she does share her thoughts she's blunt and a little harsh. Even though she's usually responsible, when you first meet her she seems to always be on task and organized making her seem more responsible and sophisticated for her age. Because of this cold personality she doesn't have many friends and tends to push people away from knowing more about her. But once you get to know her, she will always try to feed you and care for you like you're her younger sibling even if you're older than her; this motherly mindset comes from her being the eldest child and always caring for her younger brothers. She is the eldest and only daughter, and this means she's taxed with all the tedious housework and taking care of her younger brothers. In total she has four younger brothers, all of which she wants to fight on a daily basis but loves anyways. Her parents are both engineers at a prestigious company where they have been working at every since Mina was little, so you can infer that they have a comfortable lifestyle. But Mina always disliked mooching so much on her parent's money; at school people would compliment her new shoes and accessories and ask to go to her house to hang out. In the beginning, Mina obliged and let them stay at her house to play and have snacks, but Mina soon realized that she was only being used and they didn't care about her or what she wanted to do. Her bubbly personality started to diminish and she became quiet and timid to the point she blocked everyone out of her life. After telling the children that they can't come to her house anymore, she stayed to herself and began to cooking for a hobby to hide her loneliness. Now, she cooks for her family and the few friends she made at school and is looking for a job so she can move out and become independent. Cherry red Her favorite sweet is chocolate filled doughnuts with sprinkles and vanilla cream on top.
A short woman trying to make the best of all her height, Bekah stands as tall and proud as she can with her head held high (usually because she has to look up to people to talk to them anyways). When she walks, she's gotten used to pumping her legs and moving fast, easily shifting her weight from one foot to the next as she stays light on her feet. Her casual style is fairly urban, preferring loose and baggy tops for comfort and tight bottoms (often athletic wear of some sort) for movement.
Just like her favorite candies, Bekah has a very sweet-and-sour temperament. She has little patience for strangers, lesser still for people she finds annoying, and her fuse is almost non-existent for those who actively disrespect her or her friends. To people she finds tolerable and can tolerate her in kind, they will find a loyal, considerate, and caring friend. Regardless of who a person may be however, she remains ever full of snark and sarcasm and has a hard time turning that switch off which has led to numerous misunderstandings and disagreements that could have otherwise been easily avoided. She also happens to have a love of all things cute, which drew her into applying for Cafe Creme.
The middle child of a Korean father and French mother, Bekah was raised in Sweden and lived most of her life abroad in an international boarding school. Never having a sense of identity or of home, she spent most of her early life absorbing the ideas, goals, and habits of those around her which strangely enough led to the first passion that allowed her to establish her own individuality: dancing.
There were no language barriers to cross aside from what she could convey through pure movement, no million-and-one social niceties she had to learn and observe aside from those she could break in the joy and ecstasy of performing on a stage, dancing gave her an outlet to express a version of herself that she didn't know existed. That independence and freedom gave her the courage to explore more aspects about herself and to try and connect deeper with her parents and their own cultures, which eventually led her to her second passion: baking.
Despite her mother once simply being an English tutor, she also once had aspirations of becoming a world-renowned baker and tried to share that love with her children, which really didn't take with any of them aside from Bekah, and even then only later in life. Still, that persistent joy that resided in her mother eventually became inherited by Rebekah and would lead her to apply to a culinary school with an emphasis on pastries after graduating from high school.
Now having just recently finished her courses and set upon the world with new desires, she finds herself standing in front of the cafe where she would hopefully work as the first job in her professional career.

Name: Monty Romero Age: 23 Gender: Male Job: Cook/Barista, and manager, to some extent; He sort of fills in wherever is needed around that area on any given day. Appearance:
Personality: Monty is probably one of the most optimistic and upbeat people you’ll ever meet. Everyday is going to be a good one if he has anything to say about it! It’s fair to say that almost nobody has seen him in a bad mood, and he does everything in his power to make everyone else happy too. It’s his personal goal to make everyone feel completely welcome in his presence, even if his cheery, outgoing nature can be a bit overbearing to more quiet people. He also seems to have actually boundless energy, and is always, always doing something around the cafe. In fact the busiest times are his favorite, because there’s always things to do! And at slower times, he almost seems to make work for himself, doing dishes, cleaning up, organizing things, really anything he can think of. And he always seems to be there extra early to open, and extra late to close everything up, and rarely misses a day of work, unless he absolutely has to. Background: Monty always loved cats, ever since he was little. In fact, his one of his nicknames has always been “Kitty,” which when he was younger especially was preferable to his rather “old-man” type name. He was always a fun, happy kid. Never someone with perfect grades, he was overall average when one looked at his resume. Right at the end of highschool, he was in a particularly nasty accident, causing him to lose both his legs- but that hasn’t slowed him down any! On new prosthetics, he attended culinary school, and then traveled for a few years, essentially studying abroad on his own terms. His main interest was always creating any sort of sweet, and is probably the most sugar addicted person you’ll ever meet. An old family friend of Amelia and Minkyu’s older sister, Victoria, when he found out the twins were opening the cafe, he was more than willing to help out, joining the staff right after March. Color of Uniform: Pastel Purple Other: He couldn’t choose one favorite sweet, there’s no way. He loves them all.
