I think it makes the interaction feel more real, personally. Not a lot of RPs do that format.

One last thing @Franxx, nice first post! A couple of tricks to make it easier is that we usually use first person present tense for actions, which we’ve found helps keeps the flow going. So something like

Hey, who are all of you??
*The girl with auburn hair said to the strangers in front of her*

would end up feeling more real and impactful if written like

Hey, who are all of you??
*Brushes my auburn hair behind my ear, wariness scribbled across my face*

The second example ends up bringing the character to life, and feels like we’re personally interacting with them rather than reading about what they did.

Oh, that’s awesome. First players who know each other IRL.

Usually we assume that characters are still there when the player is offline. There’s an allowance for a bit of time flexibility if necessary, but usually they jump back in where they were and continue on. It ends up being difficult to coordinate everyone being online at once when you have enough people doing a single thing.
