Thank you everyone for not all flipping out, either. I suggest the weatherman rules be added to the OP to keep confused RPers in the loop.

As much as I want to believe that our friendly neighbourhood serial killer will last forever, I am left wondering when this arc will realistically end. That is not to say I do not enjoy it, far from, but it is just an arc after all.

@MyCatGinger Well, as I pointed out, I feel like The Weatherman sang his swan song with this whole public sniping thing. Unless he's literally a phantom, there's just no way for anyone to realistically get away with it. Even Agent 47 would have a hard time wiping his hands clean of this one, and he literally doesn't have an identity to trace.

@Narcotic Dollie I'm glad that most of the players are excited about the Weatherman arc. But, I didn't design Vern for it and didn't know about the murder at the ball until after the fact. If I was unattached at present I would probably opt out. However, I'm six pages into a collab with sakurasan and that begins with the shooting event. This puts me in an awkward position, especially since she and I have been playing collab-tag for a couple days now.

This is my first serious attempt at roleplaying in the romance/slice-of-life genre. I have serious doubts about my ability to handle this... change of setting, in anything resembling a competent manner. That is to say, I'm not sure that I am able to learn the writing skills that apply now that these new stresses are in play on our characters quickly enough to avoid turning Vern into an embarrassing combination of tropes and stereotypes.

If sakurasan opts in then I will follow suit and do my best. If she opts out then I will as well.

((And, in case sakurasan should read this, I didn't use the mention feature because I want you to feel no pressure. Choose based on your preference for your character. Please don't make your decision based on mine.))

And he was ambushed, barely made it out alive, and the Conglomerate (I think that's what those guys were called) closed in on him immediately thereafter. He would have gotten wrecked if Diana wasn't there to bail him out. Also, keep in mind that the automatic rifle was a special Agency weapon likely acquired through very expensive means (bear in mind, a basic 47 hit costs hundreds of thousands of dollars) so that they don't leave any identifying material, and the attache case was padded with a special scanner-blocking foil to avoid detection. He also has the advantage of being a genetically enhanced super human, and unlike the weatherman, he dresses inconspicuously. And he STILL got in hot shit after that White House hit.

And in case you can't tell, I love the whole Hitman franchise. lol.

Citizens of Shine City,

Allow me to announce that no more will you have to tirelessly ponder over whether your character will continue to be a part of the Weatherman arc, and waste sleepless nights giggling and scheming to yourselves about who you want dead in the next attack!

I have come to announce, through an ultimately unanimous decision, that the Weatherman will not continue on this journey through Shine City with us after this point in the evening. Of course, we are working out the schematics of his departure, so I request your patience.
I can assure you that he will no longer be with us by the morning of 1/1/20XX, though.

It is, after all, a romance role-play that all of you here have signed up to. Boss wanted it that way, and I take full responsibility for letting the film noir aspect, alluring and enchanting as it is, overwhelm me and what this RP originally stood for.
You have my sincerest apologies.

Like @Bozo rightly brought up, conflict is the heart of any story. I task the GMs (with any player suggestions we can consider, of course) with scheming up new drama and new world conflict to keep the RP from losing a backbone completely and turning into one giant happy orgy.
...unless that's what you'd like, ahaha.

Of course, for someone whose character was so involved with the Weatherman, I am devastated to see him go.
(Shou probably wouldn't be...)
However, this is something we believed needed to be done.

Just addressing that I don't think Amity would have that many restraining orders against her (if any at all). From what I know of her character, it would probably just be 1. The rich and powerful tend to have "fixers" that deal with legal scenarios and teams of lawyers, which is why you'll rarely see celebrities get into trouble. I mean, it took years just to even accuse someone like Bill Cosby of rape.

I'm resigning Amity from Shine City :)

I personally can not stay in a roleplay that metagames and does not talk to other people about their characters. If people so kindly came to me, I would share valid information to you all about Amity. At this point, even with the "edits", this roleplay has become extremely unpleasant for me and I very well know when someone is passive aggressive and doesn't like me. I like when people are real and upfront with me rather than use their feelings against me in their character.

Regardless, hope people find love!
