I've just realized that in all the 9 years I've been part of this site, I've never had to change my name, make an alt account or anything like that!

Maeve curiously heard as Hilde explained her who was Madam Valia and what had happened with her. Apparently, she wasn't a noble as Maeve thought, but a master of dance, the one who taught young women to dance, which was an important cultural role in Kalla. She also mentioned a string of kidnappings and surprisingly enough, most of Valia's students were disappeared. Valia seemed to be the next on the list but whoever was the responsible wasn't able to kidnap her for some reason.

"A dancer! I would like to watch her performance sometime. It must certainly be really beautiful." Maeve said, tilting her head as she wondered how much different their dance was from the dances back in Tundral.

"That said... It's really regrettable what is happening, the kidnappings and everything. Whoever seems to be the one responsible for those appear to have quite an interest for dancers, as you mentioned that most kidnappings were from Valia's students." Maeve completed, looking to Hilde.

The moment she tried to pay for a room and her meal though, she was rather surprised when Allard, the owner said that even though he was a businessman, the coin Maeve was trying to give him was far too much for just a room and the meal and that he couldn't accept it.

"Is it...?" Maeve asked with a curious expression, which made clear that the young woman wasn't really accustomed in handling small quantities of money before she put the coin back into her things and searched around for a bit.

"Is this enough then?" Maeve asked, as she extended a single Isolan Silver coin to Allard..

"I'm afraid it's the smallest coin I have with me though... Treat it as merely the payment for your hospitality." Maeve said with a respectful nod, clearly expecting Allard to accept it.

Before Allard could accept her payment though, a new arrival caught her attention. As the man entered the inn, Maeve could only describe him as a giant, being taller even than the already big Allard. Wearing a very worn set of half plate armor, a very large sword on his back and a kite shield, which were all in a similar state of disrepair as his armor. The man was so tall that he had to actually crouch to pass through the door. Such strange patron couldn't help but draw Maeve's attention who kept looking at the man for a few seconds as he accommodated himself, before asking for a room, something to drink and, unsurprisingly, given the sorry state his armor was, asking Hilde for a blacksmith in Kalla.

Other than his height and strange appearance, Maeve couldn't help but to notice that the man had visibly frozen for a moment when their eyes met as he arrived on the inn, relaxing a short moment later. Such reaction coming from him was indeed strange, but Maeve couldn't think anything of it but simply he being surprised for seeing an Isoli so far away from their homelands.

After bringing the giant man what he had ordered, Allard looked through the window before saying for his daughter to go outside and see what the 'chief', whoever that might be, was addressing the public and that she should go there to hear what he had to say.

"I assume I wont be able to see the traditional dance form this town, seeing everything that is currently happening." Maeve said, taking a sip and a bite from the food Allard brought to her earlier.

"Whoever is behind the kidnappings seems to have quite an unhealthy obsession with the dancers from Kalla though..." Maeve mentioned to Allard as she continued eating.

Despite Dareen's bluff and the other attempts that were made to say that Faeril wasn't home, judging by how things were going, it was clear that the intruders would get in no matter what. According to Bellinar's words, that group was apparently targetting Faeril for a long time. It seemed like they had finally grew tired of waiting and decided to try to attain their objectives with brute force.

Despite everyone having their weapons in hand, Dareen was still unarmed, which explained why she was so concerned about the situation turning into a conflict, despite being clear that such outcome was unavoidable. When she turned towards Mikhail asking him to undo his trap, he answered her without taking his eyes off the door.

"A peaceful outcome is not an option anymore. I'm afraid it was never an option to those guys outside to begin with..." Mikhail said to Dareen, both his words and the tone of his voice making it clear his annoyance with the fact that Dareen was still unarmed despite them being attacked.

Fortunately, Gennar also seemed to share Mikhail's thoughts regarding why Dareen wasn't given her weapons back. With Gennar's angry words, despite the time it took, Dareen finally had her weapons back in her hands. With everyone ready, Gennar opened the front door with a hand movement. Feeling the slight movement of the wires on his left hand, Mikhail simply smirked as one of the three men who rushed inside began talking. Without actually paying attention to their words or provocations, Mikhail pulled the wires with a violent and agile movement of his hand, making his wires tighten around those who were caught by it.

In the blink of an eye, blood spewed from the three men who had rushed inside as their bodies suffered deep cutting wounds and lacerations due to Mikhail's wire. Unfortunately, the third one shielded himself, suffering lighter wounds than the other two, who suffered deep and grave wounds.

"Last warning. Retreat at once if you value your lives." Mikhail hissed, his voice and stare as sharp as his wires as he held them on his hand.

It was clear to all three men who were tangled into his wires that their lives were basically on Mikhail's hands and judging by how he was slowly pulling the wires more and more, he wouldn't hesitate in taking their lives.

The trap was set, now Mikhail had only to wait. Despite that, he still didn't want to show the full extent of his skills, it was never a good idea to do so unless one had complete trust on his 'companions'. It was a simple web, covering only a specific area in front of the front door, but it should suffice for that, showing more to the enmies might not be the best course of action.

Denvar already had his blade on hands while the others started getting ready to fight. Discreetly putting his free hand on one of his curved daggers, he waited in silence as Gennar answered to the ones who were outside the door. Despite him knowing Faeril wasn't home though, he didn't seem to know exactly where she went as he asked the rest of the group in a growl.

"She is with The Reaper." Mikhail said in a low voice, emphasizing Xandar's title, in a clear indication he didn't trust him.

"They went to the store of a man named Randalvar, near the Winged Boar." Mikhail completed, continuing in silence as he kept his eyes on the door, alert to anything that could happen.

It was obvious that he had nothing more to say to Gennar regarding that. For one, he was merely a guest, or better, a patient and had no right to tell Faeril what to do and even if he did, Faeril probably wouldn't hear him nor give his words any consideration knowing how she was according to what he saw and heard from the Eyrien brothers. It was clear on Mikhail's eyes and annoyed expression though that he believed it wasn't the time to be discussing things like that, given that there were armed men right outside the front door.

Maybe it was due to the fact that whoever was inside the garden before she had arrived had almost no smell, but Ylva didn't notice a woman who was in the garden before she talked to her, asking if she was ok. Turning towards where the voice came from with a agile and sharp movement, assuming an alert posture that reminded how a wolf would upon being surprised, Ylva's almost predatory stare met with the woman who stood near her.
The second Ylva saw the owner of the voice though, everything became clear. It was a Dryad, accompanied by a dog like, horned creature made of plants. It wasn't that she had no smell, it's just that her smell was almost the same as the garden's and due to that, Ylva thought that it was just the scent of the flowers and plants there.

Looking to the dryad woman with a deep and intense stare as she analyzed the woman in front of her, leaning forwards to sniff her scent. While she knew of the existence of dryads and other creatures of the forest, she never interacted that much with them in particular. The ones who did so were mostly the druids and shamans from back home. Most Lycans from the Asulf clan had no reason to search for them nor hunt them, as they were peaceful beings and well... weren't exactly what one would call a tasty meal...

"That explains why I wasn't able to feel your scent." Ylva thought to herself as she assumed a normal posture.

"Hov! Sorry for that! I'm Ylva, just arrived on the academy. No missions yet." she said, introducing herself after apologizing for her aggressive reaction with a strong Scandinavian accent.

"There are just so many different scents here that it's a bit confusing. Not only that but it's not exactly... pleasant for someone who lived their entire lives hunting on the wild to suddenly see themselves walking in the middle of such a big city coming here..." Ylva said, explaining herself to the dryad in front of her.

"Too many loud noises, too many weird, strong smells... While trying to figure things out inside the academy I ended up here. Probably due to being the closest thing to a 'familiar' smell for me." she completed.

It wasn't really that hard to figure out that Ylva wasn't really a normal human, especially due to how strong and apparent her instincts were, almost like an animal's and due to the fact that she didn't try to hide it at all.

Cafeteria

Truly it was good to drink a well made, hot cup of coffee. It was a small thing, but Nenetl knew how to appreciate those small pleasures of life, things she couldn't even have hoped to enjoy before she died. Not only that, but the coffee from the Nox Tenebrae academy's cafeteria was really good, surprisingly, it was almost as if it was made especially how she liked it. Strong, but not overly so, with a rich fragrance.

The very moment she opened her eyes though, she was greeted by a very eye catching guy with pink hair, resting his chin on the palm of his hand as he looked at her with a curious stare after asking her why she was so happy with just a simple cup of coffee. Nenetl couldn't help but to wonder what he would think if he knew exactly who and from where she came before she replied.

"The secret is knowing how to appreciate every little thing you're experiencing. The delicate fragrance, the rich taste, the sensation of the hot coffee gliding smoothly down one's throat and warming your body, the calm and relaxing atmosphere this cafeteria has... It's about experiencing everything life has to offer. No matter how small it may be." Nenetl finished, looking to the guy in front of her with a calm and tranquil smile before she gently gestured towards the boy in front of her, silently asking if he wanted to taste some of her coffee.

Before they could say anything more though, almost as if coming out of nowhere, a petite, very pale girl fell face first to the ground with quite an impact which was enough to even send the small water bottle she was carrying rolling away from her, stopping as it touched Nenetl's foot.

"Oh! Tihuetz, noconetl! Are you fine?" She asked as she lowered herself to grab the water bottle. Those who had knowledge about history and old languages would quickly notice that the words Nenetl used were from a very, very ancient language, spoken by only a few people nowadays, which are direct descendants from the ancient civilizations from central america. Still, there was something in that woman that felt strange, old and ancient. Her eyes, her clothes... It was difficult to put it in words but somehow she didn't seem to be a normal human.

When she was about to get up from the chair to help the petite girl to get back on her feet though, she almost immediately scrambled to her feet, apologizing herself for what happened.

"Indeed, it was not your fault, you shouldn't apologize yourself nor worry too much about it. Come, sit and rest a bit." Nenetl said just after the eye catching guy with an amicable smile as she extended her hand towards the girl to give her water bottle back. The moment she took a better look at the petite girl though, Nenetl almost immediately noticed that there was something different with that girl's spirit and the overall aura she passed. It did take a moment for her to realize that the girl was a vampire though.

"Oh, I see! I suppose calling you 'child' wouldn't be that accurate, right?" Nenetl said to the girl with a chuckle, seemingly unfazed by the fact she was a vampire.

"Tlazocamati! I do not hear those words often." Nenetl said with a smile, turning to the eye catching guy when she realized he called her a 'cutie'. Truth be told, Nenetl was a bit surprised, as there weren't many people who called her that.

"I have just arrived on the academy so I'm afraid I don't know many people here, nor how to reach the classrooms yet. I'm Nenetl. It's a pleasure to meet you both." She said, with a tranquil smile as she looked to both the small girl and the guy.

"That said, I don't seem to have any classes right now. Would you two like to join me for a bit?" Nenetl asked, looking to both of them as she patiently waited for a reply.

Words in Nahuatl:
"Tihuetz, noconetl" - "You fell, my child"
Tlazocamati - "Thanks", "Thank you"

Academy Dorms -> Cafeteria

It did take a while for Nenetl to make her way into the dorms and organize her things on it (mainly finding somewhere safe to leave the heavy crescent pendulum she used as a weapon and as a medium for some of her rituals), but once there, she was pleasantly surprised to see that it was way more comfortable and luxurious than what she was expecting. That said, it would be really annoying to clean the blood off the carpet and the wooden floor when performing some of her rituals...

With that issue dealt with, it was time for her to take a look around the academy. The building itself was really big and she couldn't hope to know how to find her way to every single room by herself, but she had memorized the basic, for example, where the lounge and the cafeteria were. Still, she had some free time before her first class, so she really wanted to visit the cafeteria to get a good cup of coffee. After the coffee she would worry herself about getting to class. If she was lucky she would be able to find someone to escort her to the classrooms in the cafeteria.

Accustomed to draw a lot of attention everywhere she went, she had an interesting surprise as she started making her way through the halls and noticing that in that academy, being 'normal' was actually pretty rare, as it became evident by the sheer diversity of races that she saw merely by walking through the hallways. That said, despite that, she still drew quite a bit of attention, thanks to her exotic appearance and clothes... Apparently, even in such a place, Nenetl was still a really... unique person. Not that she disliked drawing attention, but she didn't cared that much about it either.

"How cozy!" Nenetl thought to herself as she entered the cafeteria. Not only the chairs and tables looked quite organized, but the whole atmosphere seemed to inspire calmness and comfort with the dim lit room and the candles. Everything on that room spoke sophistication, calmness and tranquility. That said, Nenetl stood out like a sore thumb immediately when she entered the room.

The delicate smell of coffee was clear in the room despite being relatively empty other than a few students and some teachers, who seemed to stop everything they were doing to gaze at the strange woman who just entered the cafeteria, resuming whatever they were doin shortly after.
Raising her hand and waving with a delicate, tranquil smile, Nenetl continued walking and sat down comfortably on a chair almost as if nothing was happening.

"A cup of Arabica please!" Nenetl said as a waiter came to greet her, her strong, almost melodic latin accent clear on her voice.

It only took a moment until the waiter came back with the coffee requested by Nenetl. Gently grabbing the warm cup in her hands, Nenetl took a moment to appreciate the delicious aroma of the coffee before tasting it. Not only there were many varieties of coffee, but each place she went made it slightly different.

"Fantastic." Nenetl said to herself after a small sip, taking one of her hands to her cheeks and closing her eyes for a second in an expression of joy and satisfaction.

Not having many possessions other than a few change of clothes, Ylva was quick to find her room and simply leave her things there. As it was common for people of her clan, they never carried many things with them other than a few change of clothes... Since if they weren't careful, transforming usually tore their clothes to pieces if they didn't take them off first. Even though she wasn't planning on spending too much time there, the dorms were surprisingly comfortable. The beds were also big enough for her to lay down without problems, even though they didn't look to be as sturdy as the beds back into where she lived with her clan, but if she was careful with it there shouldn't be many problems.

One thing bothered Ylva a little bit, other than having to go through such a big city on her way to the academy... The sheer amount of different scents inside the academy was just as confusing as it was on the city, but for a different reason... Interestingly enough, Ylva could smell many different creatures and races inside the academy, some which she didn't even recognize properly. That said, she could smell a faint, but slightly familiar smell... A Lycanthrope, just like her. What she did found strange though was the fact that his scent was different from hers and the rest of her clan. It was hard to put it in words, but it was definitely different from hers and her clan's. It was completely different of the scent a werewolf had, but still, it was strange.

Distracted by her own thoughts and the confusion of different scents and smells, Ylva somehow ended up in the gardens. Maybe amongst so many different scents, her mind unconsciously concentrated itself in what was most familiar to her nose, the scent of plants, trees and flowers. Taking a look around, the garden was surprisingly big for somewhere right in the middle of such a big city. It was still not enough for Ylva to do some exercise but it was a nice place to relax. There was also the portal room that according to what she had been told, she could use to go to distant places in a second so she figured that if she wanted to hunt, nobody would mind her using the portals for just having a bit of fun and a... fresh meal... Otherwise it would be really hard for Ylva to keep calm, since hunting was almost a daily event for her back where she lived with her clan.
